//------------------------------// // Prologue // Story: Merge // by William w2 //------------------------------// Prologue Equestria It is just the beginning of spring in Equestria and nopony could’ve guessed that two similar dimensions would change each other- forever. Twilight Sparkle was feverishly reading a book as sunrise crept in over the peach-colored horizon in a brilliant spectacle of Princess Celestias power. Her tree-house was cluttered with random books sporadically thrown all over the place. Her eyes widened like she just got confirmed of terrible news (which in fact she did). “Oh no! Oh no! Oh no!” Twilight was frantically pacing all throughout the room, with the clopping of her hooves making quite a racket. “SPIIIIIIIIKE….. SPIKE!!” Twilight called into the library, where Spike was supposed to be working to keep the library in a neat and orderly fashion (in fact he was sleeping at the moment). “SPIKE!” Twilight yelled in a warning tone. “Wha…” Spike awoke with a start and the grogginess of sleep still pulling him into its gentle caress. He blinked once more then headed into Twilights room. “What Twilight?” he asked grumpily, rubbing his eyes. “There you are Spike.” Twilight replied. “I need you to send a letter to the Princess, and hurry.” She said urgently. Spike then proceeded to pull a scroll from out of nowhere. “Ready whenever you are.” Spike replied curtly. “Ok, Spike this is going to be a long one, so get ready.” She paused to think. She nodded to say that she was ready to Spike, now fully awake, well at least, as much as he could be. “All right put this. 'THIS NOTE IS OF EXTREME IMPORTANCE AND MUST BE READ AT ONCE.' Here’s the note. ‘Dear Princess Celestia, I have to inform you if some dire news. On the next full moon there will be a convergence of another dimension similar to ours, and it will be catastrophic. The alignment of the solar system in another will be exactly the same as the one in ours. How I know of this is because of my extensive magic abilities. I have mastered my thirty-sixth trick- a third sight. My second sight was one of which I informed to you on my two-hundred and seventh letter. My third sight is one of a very cautious and careful procedure. I can see into any one dimension, but it takes extreme precaution, and a painful amount of focus to form the slightest vision of this other universe. The reason I haven’t informed you of this sooner is because I didn’t want to make you paranoid about something I found early on and wasn’t sure if I was correct. I have studied both of the solar alignments for weeks and up until now I’ve wanted to turn away, but now I must face the truth. Princess, our worlds will merge and there’s no way to stop it.’ Whew! Did you get that Spike?” She said in a deceivingly cheerful voice, despite what she had just said. The pale baby dragon looked much shaken at the letter he just wrote and replied in barely a whisper “Yea, I got it.” And with that Spike turned towards the window and opened it and blew a gentle stream of fire at the scroll and willed it to go to Celestia. Spike prayed to the goddesses that what he heard wasn’t true as he watched the ashes get blown away by the wind.
