The Chronicles of Lunaer
Prologue - The first signs
Before Equestria was made there was nothing but endless space and three forces. Harmony, Creation and Chaos. They were Silvermare, Novulus and Discord. For a long time they never knew of each other’s existence until one day.
Silvermare was flying through nothing but space, dark endless space. She was the only light source, using her horn. Then she saw a flash of red light! She flashed back hoping to finally find and meet something, she didn't care what she would find.
The light became brighter and brighter and suddenly disappeared
As the light disappeared so did her hope, Silvermare flew faster trying to find the light source and the thing that made the light. She started screaming: "Where are y..!" When she was hit by something, they rolled and bounced against each other.
Finally Silvermare stopped rolling and slowly the space around her as well. She did her light on and saw a weird looking creature with an head of a pony, two different horns, wings and actually anything else!
"You stupid thing! Look out where you're flying!"
"Good to meet you too. I'm Discord." said the creature.
"Silvermare, I’m Silvermare. So what are you exactly?"
"That's the thing, I have absolutely no idea!” answered Discord with a sarcastic voice.
"So why did you crash into me?!" Yelled Silvermare.
"Not my fault, this thing hit me! You don’t have to yell at me like that.."
Discord showed a blue orb of light. It rested
"What is it?"
"No clue.."
"You don't know much do you?"
Before Discord could answer the orb of light flew just in front of their faces and started speaking.
"Greetings Spirits! I'm the spirit of creation! Or Novulus."
"Did you just call us spirits?"
"Yes. Silvermare, Spirit of Harmony and Discord, Spirit of Chaos."
"I like the sound of that.." mumbled Discord.
"How do you know us?"
"I was looking for you two!"
"For what reason?"
"It's time to make the galaxy and all her inhabits!"
"And how you expect us to do it?"
"You only have to choose how it's going to look like, I'll do the rest!" He beamed in their eyes and they saw images of ground, water, the sky, clouds and everything what was imaginable.
"Can you really do that?"
"But of course! What other purpose does the Spirit of Creation have?"
"This is going to be great! Make it chaotic, like that normal ground but some parts float! That's going to be hilarious!"
"Hold on a second! We're not making it chaotic, make it in the godly style of harmony! Beautiful landscapes with those clouds."
"What fun is that?!"
"It’s just practical!"
"Chaotic is better! See it for you, earth flying, water floating into space and back!"
"We're not making it chaotic!"
They started arguing and it let to a full out fight between the two. As the battle raged on for almost an year Novulus grew tired of them and started charging up the creation spell. It blew up with incredible force, taking Silvermare and Discord by a complete surprise.
"What did you do?!"
"I did nothing! It was that light ball!" answered Discord.
"What is he doing?!"
They both looked at it for a while holding on to each other.
"His creating isn't he..?"
"I believe he his."
They watched as in a matter of seconds under them a land appeared. Just an earth rock.
"Ha! See chaos!" Said Discord victoriously. "Now only the flying earth.."
Just a few seconds after that their appeared a blue sky filled with clouds.
"Seems like your chaos world isn't completely going to plan. I don't think we have anything to say..."
"Perhaps you don't but I'm going to demand my will. See you!" Said Discord before taking off going to reach the orb.
"No you won't!" Silvermare grabbed his leg pulling him back, trying to be first.
They did that until they both came close to the orb and as they tried to grab it.
"It's my world!"
"No it isn't, princess!"
"I've had enough of you two."
They were sent into another realm. Full of everything and nothing.
"Well great. Look what you have done!"
"Oh come on! Don't blame me for this!"
"So you're saying it's my fault! Don't blame me!"
Discord was going to say something but noticed a ball of contained water floating, Silvermare blew it away but discord poked it, resulting in it making rain above them.
"You always find a way to screw things up don't you?"
"You can't stop blaming me for this can you? Why can't yo.." He wanted to finish his sentence but Silvermare’s lips were pressed on his.
"You’re talking too much.."
"I am..? How about you?'
Chapter 1.1 - Truth of Life
A lot has changed since the start of their relationship. Equestria had taken shape, creatures of all kind started to be born and grew. Novulus was almost done with creating everything. With Discord and Silvermare did also change a lot. They made a cave as home, Discord found a way to check in on the new land and did that regularly.
Discord flew back with his arms full of gems and all kinds of fruit and meat. He entered their home.
"What took you so long? It's almost here!" said Silvermare who was laying on a bed of clouds.
"Got food and water for us all. How long?"
"It will be here in any minute!"
Discord dropped them into the air, were it just floated.
"It's coming Dizzy!" said Silvermare who started breathing heavy.
"Can I do something?!"
At the same time Novulus finished everything.
"Well that's finally done.." he thought while flying into a cave. "I'm so tired.." The orb fel on the ground. "My time has come.. Just in time, the foal is here.. Time for him to take my place.. I.. Can... Rest."
The light ball died. Its body exploded and filled the cave with crystals and gems.
"And?" Asked Silvermare exhausted of giving birth.
"It's a male!" Said Discord smiling while holding the little colt.
"Let me see it!"
He brought him to Silvermare, before he laid the foal in his mother's arms, he gave him a lick on his nose.
"He's beautiful.." She said while stroking the Alicorn-Dragon hybrid. "You thought of a name for him..?"
"Lunar Dovah."
"You know that 'Dovah' is supposed to be a surname for dragons?"
"Yes I know, and I'm sure he will come home with one someday." Said Discord proudly.
"If you want to give him a dragon related name then let’s call him Lunaer Novus Dovah."
"Why the Novus?"
"Without that light ball we would have never been together."
"Guess you’re right.." He looked at the foal laying sleepy in his mother's arms. "He's beautiful.."
"Yes he is.. Our little Lunar.."
A decennium later Lunar had grown up a little, wearing a little cape around his neck that Silvermare had made for him when he was a small colt. Now he was older, he looked almost like a real stallion. With a few exceptions, he had scales almost all over his body and he couldn't speak nor his cutie mark was there. He was running around in circles following his tail while being watched by his parents.
"He's cute don't you think?"
"Yes he is.."
"Proud on your son?"
"Once he found out he is never going to catch his tail and he starts to uses the brain we gave him, yea sure."
"Come on Dizzy! He's your son!"
"I was kidding dear! Of course I'm proud of him! The cape you made for him still fits after all this time."
"He loves the thing.."
Suddenly Silvermare fall on the ground. Gasping for air.
"Silver!" Discord quickly laid her on the cloud bed.
"Dizzy..." She spoke while trying to control her breath.
"Take it easy you’re going to be alright! I'm going to get you something to eat!" Discord flew out of the cave. Leaving Silvermare alone with Lunar.
Lunar was climbing on the cloud bed trying to reach his mother.
"Hello there Lunar."
He showed her a rock filled with gemstone dust. She made her horn glow and a drawing of them appeared.
"It's beautiful Lunar, just like you.. Never forget that.." She made a little saddleback for him with her last strength and put it on his back, putting the rock in it.
"Never forget mommy loves you..."
Lunar laid down besides Silvermare and fell asleep, she nuzzled in his mane enjoying the colts scent.
Discord came back and entered as fast as he could. In his arms were all kinds of things.
"It's going to be alright Silver! It's going to be alright!" He said while sitting next to her.
He shaked her head. "No Dizzy.. It won't, we both knew I was sick and this is the end of the line.."
"You can't leave me here Silver!"
"I won't.. I'm always with you.. I love you Dizzy.." Some tears came from her eye.
"No Silver you’re going to be alright!"
"Goodbye Dizzy.." Silvermare closed her eyes. As her last breath came out of her mouth. Discord cried, seeing his love there, dead. He looked at Lunar who didn't move as well.
"Lunar?! Your leaving me as well?!" He asked while he cried. "What have I done to deserve this?!"
Discord started destroying everything in his home out of anger except the cloud with Silvermare and Lunar.
"There's nothing left for me here.." He said sad. "Then if there's no happiness for me.. There's NO happiness for ANYONE!" He yelled out extremely furious. He snapped his fingers opening a portal and went inside. It slowly sucked things up. Lunar awoke and looked around trying to remember where he was. Then he saw Silvermare's body changing into six crystals which were sucked up in the portal. He got up and jumped in the portal as well, trying to get his mother, the world around him changed into a forest.
Chapter 1.2 - A Cold Welcome
As the hybrid came through the portal he found himself in a little field which was surrounded by large dark green things reaching for the sky, the sky itself was dark and filled with clouds that were dropping water on him, but trough those clouds were all kinds of lights which he just loved. A sound behind him, he quickly turning around and saw the portal close. Sounds came from everywhere, he tried to see what those sounds were but the only thing that he could see were the dark things.
Then some thing’s jumped from the darkness into the field, sniffing around. Lunar tried to hide in the grass, he had an hard time trying to hide since his body wasn't so called small.
One of the things came closer picking up his smell, Lunar looked as the creature growled in his face while others joined him.
He slowly backed away hoping they would get away as well. That didn't happen, one of them slashed its claw into Lunar’s wing. Others tried to bite his neck or slash his face.
Lunar cried out in pain as the animals were trying to kill and feast on him. He tried to fight back, he could feel his claws throwing off some of the attackers. A bigger one of them started eating from his wing. Lunar cried out in pain as he felt the teeth sticking in his flesh. He turned around full of anger he had never felt before and crashed the creature into the ground. With his other claw he entered its chest making the creature cry out its last sounds and breaths.
The attackers stopped. Lunar looked at them while feeling exhausted and trying to catch his breath for the next attack.
But the attack didn't happen, they looked at him seeing bloodlust in his eyes and the blood dripping from his body. One of them went through its legs, bowing for him making the rest follow as well. Lunar didn't know what happened, he looked at the creature corps who tried to eat from him just a few minutes ago. He saw some of them walking towards the corps and taking something off its leg and when they did that they bowed once again and raised a silver collar necklace. Lunar raised his claw in front of him and the creature did it on his wrist.
Lunar didn't understand what was going on but then more of the same creatures were coming from the forest but there weren’t foals or anything. They were just different from the others, they looked more female.
They surrounded Lunar walking beside, under, on top of him trying to clean the wounds while some were trying to impress him. He didn't know what was happening he just enjoyed the attention and care instead of the attack. The other creatures were laying in the dark things at the edge of the field. He started walking towards a bush which looked to him as the cloud he and his mother slept on. He layed on it still being followed by the female creatures, some of them layed against him while the other more older looking once ran to the dark things and climbed in them.
Lunar lied in a bush surrounded by warmth coming from the female creatures. The rain was dripping all over him but he didn't care, the wounds were still hurting and he was exhausted.
Chapter 1.3 - What a Young mind can't catch
Lunar heard voices when he slowly awoke. He was now laying in the bush instead of on it.
"There was some heavy fighting here."
"What can thou tell us except the obvious?"
"Luna don't be so harsh, tell us more Star."
Lunar peeked through the bush trying to see what was going on. He saw a unicorn and two alicorns, one white and one dark blue.
"Well this corps was killed recent, yesterday evening to be exact. His chest has been crushed and due to the size of him. It must have been the leader of these forest wolves. The creature that killed this forest wolf must have a massive strength, looking from the marks in the mud it had claws and must be the age of an almost full grown stallion."
"So what are those 'Forest wolfs'?"
"Thou should learn more about our subjects then thy doesn't have to ask these things."
"It’s fine princess, saltus lupi, forest wolves. Obviously they live in forests like this one, they hunt and gather for their food, they eat freshly killed prey, gathered berries, etcetera. Even though they hunt they are still low in the food chains. The biggest and strongest of them become their pack leader. Once the leader is dead or admits defeat the victor becomes the leader, which most of the young females will try to fall in love and mate with the leader, the mate of the leader is the second highest rank so most of the younger females will try to claim that spot with her charms. It is possible that a leader has multiple females though. But I believe the creature that killed this wolf here is the new leader of this pack."
"Anyway, could this be a creature of Discord?" Asked the dark blue alicorn.
"You two defeated Discord twenty years ago princesses, the chance is small." Replied the unicorn.
"Continue Star." said the white alicorn smiling.
"Well the marks in this mud and grass add to my suspicion that the creature is the new leader, the females were caring for his wounds while trying to impress him."
"Want to capture it sister?" Asked the dark alicorn.
"Yes. But now is not the time, we have a lot to do let us return to the castle."
"Mind if I go look for it? I'm really interested in this creature!"
"No Star, we need thou as well."
"Of course princess." the unicorn said quite disappointed. He walked towards the white princess. The dark alicorn stood still for a while.
"Coming Luna?"
"Lu-na..." Said Lunar quietly.
The dark alicorn peaked her ears and looked at the bush.
"Something wrong princess?" asked the unicorn who was watching her.
"We just thought we heard something.." Answered the alicorn princess.
Luna catched up with the other two and walked away.
Lunar watched them walk away and then came out of the bush as the three disappeared in the woods he turned around and noticed as the pack of forest wolves were gathering. A much older wolf approached him, he walked around Lunar observing his whole body. Lunar just stood and followed the movement of the wolf with his head.
He stopped in front of the hybrid, looking deep into his eyes. He moved his front leg up laying his pawl on Lunars head. Lunar closed his eyes and saw Forest wolves, speaking to him with all kinds of movements. He opened his eyes again and saw the elder moving backwards. Holding up a piece of a broken mirror in front of him, Lunar didn't pay much attention to his head. On his forehead however was a print of the elder’s pawl, blood. Pure blood on his forehead without him even knowing. Lunar smiled and showed the elder respect by bowing. The elder wolf as the others behind him returned the bow and acknowledged Lunar as their true leader.
All of them returned to their tasks. The only ones that stayed at the field were Lunar, the elder wolf and young and old females.
Lunar smiled and made some playful movements inviting the wolves to play with him. The young wolves accepted and played with Lunar most of them were trying to impress the hybrid with their body. But Lunars young mind had no idea about what it was for exactly. Every time a wolf made such a special movement different from the others he gave a lick on their heads, then ran off and continued playing with the group.
After a while he became a little tired and laid down on his back. Followed by all the females who laid their heads on his belly, his wings and just against him in general, close as they could.
Lunar loved the attention. Not knowing that this wasn't only because they wanted to play as well.
Chapter 1.4 - Bound to Discover
Slowly the morning passed into midday and the hunters returned, formed a line to present what they gathered.
The elders woke Lunar up from his morning nap and guided him towards the hunters.
The hybrid looked doubting at the things they gathered. A small rabbit, four acorns and a few berries. Lunar turned his head a little and the hunters threw themself on the ground begging not to kill them.
Lunar went through his front legs trying to get eye contact, as soon as he got that he smiled at them and signed they could get up just because they didn't do anything wrong. He laid his claw on the elders head showing him that he should tell the hunters to take the rest of day off, he would go and find ways to get food.
Lunar turned around and walked through, the female group starting to follow the trails that were left behind.
The trails lead into a dirt road, Lunar had never seen something like this before, just rolled through the dirt and rocks forgetting why he was following the trails in the first place.
Then he heard hoof steps closing in. He ran off the road into a bush curious as he is, he didn't went back into the forest but just watched wanting to see what was going to pass by.
He saw two guard ponies passing by stopping on the spot where he had been rolling.
"What do you think this is Captain?"
"I don't know, but I don't want to take any risks lets report this to the princess, perhaps she knows more about this."
"Yes sir."
The two galloped away Lunar followed them in the shadows.
His eyes opened as wide as they could as he saw city buildings and all kinds of ponies walking there. He flew up and landed on a roof with major difficult because he almost never flown and the damage he got previous night. He landed on the roof and started following the guards again who were walking through the streets trying to keep the peace.
Lunar jumped from roof to roof following them. Sometimes using his wings to glide if he couldn't make it jumping. Then there was a ravine with one bridge to cross it. He jumped off the highest building that was close to the ravine and glided over it. But then an arrow scratched right past his wing making him lose his control and falling down. He tried to recover from his fall and saw the edge of the ravine. The hybrid got hold of the edge but slowly he was losing his grip. As the ground moved through his claws the earth let go and he lost all of his grip.
Just as he was about to fall a hoof catched him. It pulled him on the side, as Lunar looked at the pony's face that had just saved him and recognised the unicorn from earlier.
"You were really lucky there." Said the unicorn before looking at Lunar and Walking backwards "Wh..what, who are you?!"
Lunar pointed his claw at himself. "Lu-na-r"
"Lunar?"
The hybrid nodded.
"Can you understand me?"
The hybrid nodded again.
"Can you speak?"
This time Lunar shaked his head but smiled at the unicorn.
"It landed there!" yelled a voice from the woods.
Lunar ran away, into the forest fearing that another attack might come.
Before he knew it he was at the edge again and saw a huge castle, he couldn't believe what he saw. He ran around the castle and saw a small wall. He looked if somepony would see him and made a run for it. He ran to the wall and jumped over. He landed on his face but quickly recovered. He looked around and saw all kinds of plants with signs in front of them. He ran to one and read. "A-pp-le-s" It reminded him of what he ate with his mom and dad, he tried to opened his saddlebag, with a lot of struggle but finally he did it. He picked some of the apples from the tree and left some shining round things he found on the roof close to the sign.
He picked some other things from the trees, big palm leaves, seeds and then jumped over the wall again. Going back to his pack.
The day was coming to an end and Lunar arrived at his pack. The females were already jumping on him for his return. Lunar kept smiling and walked towards the elder he opened his bag and levitated the apples and other fruits out of it and laid them on the palm leaves.
He ordered them all to stand in a line and gave out two apples each for every wolf, they enjoyed their meal greatly. Lunar took a seed and went to the corpse of the dead wolf. He looked at it feeling regret of killing him, even though he was attacked. He dropped the seed in its chest and felt a wierd force going through his body. The corpse changed into a beautiful apple tree filled with apples. All the forest wolves gathered around Lunar and the tree.
Lunar opened his eyes and noticed the apple tree in front of him and the pack around him. Before he knew it there were the females on his back, licking his head of a token of appreciation.
The elder stood in front of Lunar smiling at their leader that just gave them an endless source of food.
Chapter 1.5 - Green eyes
It was a beautiful night, no clouds only the night, the moon and her stars. Lunar had received training from some of the wolves and knew now how to climb the trees with his claws, he was laying on a branch looking above him trying to recognise the stars. But no stars looked even close to what he and his dad saw and sometimes made. The thought about his parents made him sad and he started to cry, tears came from his closed eyes just as the rain of the previous night.
He felt a wet snout on his forehead. He opened his eyes seeing nothing thanks to his tears, finally he got his sight back and saw a white forest wolf with a black stripe running over her face. He never saw her before, he didn't know if he just didn't pay attention or that this is the first time he saw her.
He looked at her studying her fur, ears, but mostly her eyes, her eyes, beautiful green eyes. For some reason he couldn't stop looking at her eyes, they reminded him of his mother’s eyes, except they weren’t green.
She closed her eyes and made a shaking movement with her head while her snout went over his muzzle. Lunar didn't know what she was doing but he did the same.
After a while they both stopped. She lied down on Lunar while her pawls were around his neck. He wasn't sure about what she was doing, did she feel sad for him?
He couldn't think of anything, the sadness overwhelmed him and he started crying. Lunar threw his front legs around the wolf laying on top of him, like a foal crying with its mother.
After a while Lunar stopped crying, he couldn't go on anymore. They both just laid there, holding each other. Lunar used his tail to stroke the forest wolf. He could feel the wolfs long soft hair.
She looked Lunar in the eyes and he gave her a lick on her snout, trying to show he was thankfully for the care. The hybrid saw a cute little tongue of the female before it entered his mouth, Lunar was taken by surprise and had no idea what she was doing. She pulled his tongue in her mouth made him go all around in her mouth. He had no idea what he felt or what he was doing with her.
After a while she let go of his mouth and Lunar saw her beautiful green eyes again. He was enchanted by them and before he knew it his tongue met hers again.
The moon was right above them now. Lunar was looking at it while on him was the sleeping wolf. He wondered what the thing in the sky was and who had made such a beautiful thing.
The moon slowly passed out of his sight behind the tree leaves, his attention went on the sleeping wolf on his belly. She was sleeping peacefully on the hybrid, he started wondering what she did with him earlier. He tried to thought of anything he knew but nothing was the answer to it.
Lunar noticed his sight going down as his eyelids closed slowly. He didn't fight the sleep he let it take him away.
The morning came faster than expected. Lunar woke up really, really tired when the sun light went through the leaves into his eyes.
His eyes opened and he saw the wolf still sleeping on top of him, he moved his head closer to her head and licked it, trying to wake her up.
Slowly she started moving and looked at him, he made a movement with his head trying to make clear she has to get off him.
She understand what he meant and got off him, Lunar turned his body and was now laying on his belly, he felt a hurting feeling in his wings. He slept on them all night, he stood up and stretched his whole body then climbed out of the tree, being followed by the wolf. As he came to the open field he saw his pack slowly awakening to start their day as well.
Lunar looked behind him and couldn't see the female wolf he had spent the night with anymore.
Birds flew away as a scream flew through the forest and catched Lunar’s ear. He looked at a few of the wolfs and signed them to follow, he turned around and ran towards the scream.
The scream came from an open field, as they closed in Lunar looked through the leaves and saw two ponies, an unicorn and an earth pony. They were afraid as a large creature roaring at them.
"Don't scream you make it aggressive!"
"Just do something Star!"
"You nor me can win from this Batlion!"
"So you just want me to sit still and die?!"
The creature walked closer to the two, raising its claw. Lunar ran from his hiding place and tackle the batlion, it landed a few meters away but was already getting up and was roaring against Lunar.
The forest wolves were right behind him but Lunar made it clear that he didn't want any help from them, so they made room for the hybrid.
The batlion and hybrid started charging towards each other. One fighting for his meal the other defending. Just before they would meet head on the batlion flew over Lunar and put his claw in Lunar’s left leg. Lunar screamed as they heard the bone break, he used his wings as balance and he felt the bloodlust coming again. He waited for the batlion to charge at him and just before he could attack him he jumped and put his claw into the batlion’s jaw forcing it into the ground, dust came from the impact the creature had made. They could all see Lunar impaling his claw into the batlion’s head, forcing him into the afterlife.
As the creature passed away Lunar cut some of its fur off and started eating from its shoulder
"Lunar?!" said the unicorn.
Lunar looked up while swallowing meat. He smiled and ran, what looked more like half jumping, towards the unicorn.
"You know him?" Asked the earth pony.
"Well I don't really know him.. But I saved his life and now he saved ours. Guess we're even now."
Lunar looked at the unicorn, trying to get information out of him.
"Wait I never told you my name did I?"
Lunar shaked his head.
"Sorry, I'm Starfire and this is my marefriend Adrien."
Lunar looked at Adrien and Starfire, then tried to walk around them which wasn't easy for him since his hind leg was broken.
"What is it doing?" Asked Adrien which wasn't pleased that Lunar was sniffing at them.
"I have no idea, isn't it fascinating?"
"Fas-shie-na-ing?" Said Lunar trying to copy his last word.
"Fas-ci-na-ting, fascinating as in interesting."
"In-tes-tingh..?"
"let’s say it means that you’re special."
Lunar smiled and sat down in front of them. He got reminded of his broken leg and collapsed. He was inhaling a lot of air, it marked the pain he felt.
"Adrien get me lodius! It’s in my saddlebag." Said Starfire while sitting next to the fallen hybrid. Then the four wolves were growling in his face protecting their leader.
Lunar made a sound marking that its fine, Starfire saw a little conversation with movements and sounds. No words whatsoever. After a minute the wolves listened to the hybrid and got away from them and ran a back a little.
"Got your flower."
"Thanks Adrien," He turned his head to the hybrid. "Just what I suspected, your there leader. And you can even communicate with them! You’re a fascinating creature!"
"We no Cre-at-ure." Tried Lunar to make clear.
"You kinda are, you’re not just somepony from around here."
"Adrien! He did just save our life’s!"
"We no Cre-at-ure."
"Eat this," He said while putting the flower in his mouth. "It’s a lodius flower. It’s going to counter the pain your feeling."
Lunar swallowed the bitter flower and lost his feeling in his leg.
"Don't move just let me take a look.." He said to Lunar, the hybrid felt the magic go through the scales and entering his bones. He started picking up the magical pattern and before he knew it he was using the spell.
"Lunar what are you doing?!" Said Starfire.
He looked around and noticed the upper part of his leg, scales and hide gone. His bones and muscles were visible and pain returned to it, Lunar pushed his whole body against the ground while screaming out of the pain.
"Lay still! I can fix this!"
He tried to lay still but the pain was like his whole leg was getting ripped off. Then as he opened his eyes he saw big green eyes looking in his eyes. He forgot the pain and stopped moving allowing Starfire to return Lunar’s hide and scales with a spell.
While looking in her eyes he didn't feel a thing, he was trying to understand what she was thinking and doing there.
"St-ripes" He called the female.
"It's done Lunar, your leg is back together."
Lunar tried to look away from the big green eyes of her. When she closed her eyes he finally could look away and saw how his leg was made again, he looked at Starfire trying to get the word he was looking for.
"Thanks is the word you’re looking for."
"Tha-nk T-hou.."
"Thank thou?"
Lunar nodded.
"Well your welcome, but how did you do such a powerful spell?"
Lunar looked confused at him not understanding what he meant.
"What you did was the opposite of what I was doing, except it was stronger and had a much higher magical power then was needed to remove that much, didn't you had any problems?"
Lunar shaked his head.
"Well just watch out with that leg, it’s still weak."
Lunar stood up and walked carefully back to his pack, while being supported by the four wolves and was followed by the female with green eyes Stripes.
"What is it exactly?"
"He, please say he. He is no it."
"Fine, what is he exactly?"
"His bones remind me of dragon, except they aren’t that strong I hope to find it out. One thing Adrien."
"Yes?"
"Don't tell anypony you saw him."
As they reached the pack again they put Lunar down in the sun, all the females were already greeting him. He threw himself on the ground wanting to rest a moment, the females were laying close to him. It was useful for him this time, he could lay his head on one of the females.
His sleep was interrupted as all the wolves stood up and Lunar’s head fell on the ground. He opened his eyes and noticed his pack getting surrounded by a circle of other wolves. He tried to get on his hooves which was hard for him since his leg wasn't helping.
He got in front of them and was growling at the attackers trying to scare them off, of course it didn't work, he was walking like he had three legs.
The group of attackers made way as a big dark wolf walked towards the smaller hybrid. He laughed at him as he saw what the leader was of their group.
He gave Lunar a chance to save his pack, but Lunar was not allowed to live anymore. He was a shame for the wolves.
Lunar looked behind him, if they agreed as well. He saw that they all wished to keep him as their leader, complete supported by his whole pack and Stripes. The hybrid knew that they had more fighters, Lunar challenged the big wolf leader. He laughed and gladly accepted seeing a chance to eliminate and humiliate the so called 'leader'.
Chapter 1.6 - Protection or Revenge
Lunar was growling, spread his wings and went through his front legs, showing he was willing to protect them from anything till the end.
They charged at each other Lunar had the advantage with having a horn and cutting right into the wolf, the dark wolf acted like it was nothing and just lifted Lunar into the air holding him by his neck. With his other pawl he started pulling on Lunar’s bad leg. Causing him to scream in pain as the bones slowly were parted by the force, Lunar's eyes started tearing. He swept his tail in his opponents face. The dark wolf let him go and took a few stabs back. Lunar fall on his bad leg causing him to scream again out of pain. The opposite wolf pack laughed at him for what he was, a weakling.
Lunar stood up, his hind leg was hanging he ignored the pain and focused on the wolf in front of him. He charged at him. Lunar knew using his horn again wouldn't help. He tried to think what to do but the wolf was already biting him in his neck. His eyes were full of unbelief as he looked how the black wolf was biting in him. Lunar used his claw to hit the wolf in his leg. He let go of his neck, which immediately started bleeding and when Lunar looked him in the eye he saw nothing, only hate for the hybrid.
Then lunar got thrown on his back by the angry wolf. Before he could even open his eyes the dark wolf already made a move. He looked at the wolf who had ripped his belly open and Lunar saw in unbelief his intestines hang out of his body. He used his good leg to throw the wolf off him. The pain came immediately after, he tried not to scream or cry. The wolf was making fun of him and was laughing at him. Lunar stood up. He used his magic to wrap the cloth he had around his neck on his belly. Trying to keep his intestines inside of him.
The wolves were still laughing, slowly the laughing stopped as dark clouds were gathering and Lunar was looking at the dark wolf with a dark red eyes, full of bloodlust. There was thunder and lightning but no rain. Lunar stood on his hind leg, using his wings for more stability. Lightning struck his horn the hybrid stood with his front legs on the ground again and fired it at the dark wolf making him fly against a tree.
The wolf got up surprised and noticed a charging Lunar coming right at him. He was floating just above the ground, claws in front of him. The wolf charged to him. Lunar made a shift movement just before they would meet and struck the wolf's belly returning the favour, he holded him against a tree.
The wolf started whining and surrendering. Lunar let go of him and walking away.
Just a few steps he felt his other hind leg crack, the dark wolf had attacked him once again. He turned around and saw the wolf attacking again, already saying he was going to kill them all.
Lunar launched his claws into the arms of the wolf pushed him against the tree once more. He opened his mouth and the wolf could see a red light and feel heat out of it, just a second later fire was coming out burning the face of the big wolf. They heard him whine and scream as he was burned alive. The sounds faded away and Lunar closed his mouth. Lunar let go of the burned wolf corpse and stood on his front legs. He used his wings as hind legs, he looked at the attacking wolves that were now quiet. He growled at them all, challenging them now, try and kill him or be silence forever. They all feared him now, that 'weak' hybrid had killed their strongest leader, Lunar demanded them to bow and acknowledging him as leader or face the same fate as their dead leader. They all bowed for him. Lunar was still filled with anger and spit fire into the air, Stripes ran towards him. He noticed her and he stopped with breathing fire into the air.
"Stri-pes.." The pain returned immediately and the hybrid collapsed of the pain and blood loss.
Chapter 1.7 - Problems don't leave
He awoke inside a building. Lunar looked around and was trying to remember what happened, he got out of the bed and got reminded of the pain.
He fall on his belly and started crawling towards the door, then the door opened in front of him.
"Lunar your awake!" Said a friendly voice he knew.
He looked up and saw Starfire.
"Still remember me?"
"St-ar.." Said Lunar
"That’s right, well buddy you’re not really caring for yourself. Any idea how hard it was to put all your organs back inside your body?"
Lunar looked at the ground which was just a few centimetres away from his face.
"I got something for you to use as legs." He walked to a corner and got a wierd thing he wrapped around Lunar’s belly and hind legs. "These are some wheels so that you don't have to walk on your hind legs. And I just checked on your belly and it restored it wonderful, extremely fast as well."
Lunar walked with his front feet while the wheels were rolling with him, he looked at the unicorn again. "W-ha-t 'ap-pe-nd?"
"What happened? Well you won the duel, got injured really bad. Luckily, Stripes knew were Adrien and I live and got me there. And I brought you here, your pack wasn't really happy with that though, and took care for you. You've been sleeping for four weeks!"
Lunar looked unbelieving at the unicorn. His belly started to make noises.
"So you’re hungry? Come." Starfire walked down the stairs, Lunar waited for him to be at the end and carefully followed, he started walking down and noticed he went faster and faster, he had no idea how to stop the device on his hind legs. Just before he reached the ground he used his wings and floated. Lunar crashed in a wall that was in front of the stairs.
He looked to his right and saw an earth pony on the couch. "So he is finally awake. Is he always so..?" she asked against the unicorn.
"He’s young Adrien, even younger than us!"
"The only thing younger than us is a colt or filly. And he doesn't really look like that."
Lunar was half walking half rolling and trying to get affection from Starfire with his head.
"He’s a colt with his behaviour," He stroke the hybrid over his head, Lunar lied down enjoying it. "His body is starting to show signs of growing up. And I found out that Lunar is a hybrid between an alicorn and dragon."
"You did some research?"
"Of course I did, only found out these two things though."
"Hu-ng-ry.." Said Lunar.
"You’re still hungry aren’t you?"
Lunar . Since the group has grown they have now more males that meant more hunters. The elder had been giving commands since Lunar wasn't able to.
Starfire and Adrien were watching him from the house.
"You really want to change him?"
"Yes I don't believe he is meant to be a mindless animal."
"He looks happy Star.. Shouldn't you let him be the way he wants to be?"
"Why can't you accept that he is supposed to be something big in our world?"
"Because that something could also be a bad thing, you saw him breath fire yourself, what if he learns more tricks like that and defeats our princesses?"
"I don't believe he would do something like that.."
Lunar was glad to hear that his pack was safe. He asked them if they could make huts in trees, a crazy idea but they said they could, he was there leader of course. Starfire came out of his house.
"Lunar you can stay here until your hind legs are fixed."
Lunar was happy with that. Now he didn't have to worry about climbing trees or anything, except when the next meal will come.
Chapter 1.8 - The Night Princess
One week passed. Lunar was mostly found in the back garden playing with young females or communicating with males about plans of all sorts. Starfire was also found were Lunar was. But he wasn't close to him, he was studying Lunar from a distance.
The second week Adrien and Starfire let Lunar out of his metal wheels and were learning him how to walk once again. He got it quickly except his legs weren’t strong enough to carry him around all the time, so that meant he had to switch between walking completely and using the wheel construction.
"How long is he going to stay here?" Started Adrien. "We can't hide him anymore it's becoming too dangerous."
"I know, tonight I will release him." said Starfire while looking at the hybrid.
Lunar was sleeping against their fireplace, enjoying the heat he was laying completely stretched against it, he slept peacefully.
As the day slowly passed and the sun was setting and they heard knocked on the door, Adrien walked to the door and opened.
"Princess Celestia, princess Luna! What are you doing here?"
"We had an appointment with Star, thou didn't forget right?" Said princess Celestia.
"No of course not, I was just surprised that your here as well." Said Adrien while bowing for her sister.
"We're here on visit, hope thou doesn't mind."
"No, of course not! Come in." She turned around and shouted. "Star! The princesses are here!"
Starfire shocked and awoke the sleeping Lunar and whispered. "Lunar! You have to go!"
Lunar slowly awoke, he was looking with a sleeping look at the unicorn.
"The princesses are here! You have to get the hay out of here!"
Lunar slowly got up, he was still using wheels as hind legs.
"They will kill you if they see you!"
Lunar looked afraid at the unicorn, in panic he tried to run but his claws had no grip on the floor.
"Easy! Go to the kitchen!"
Lunar's tail disappeared in the kitchen just in time as the princesses entered there living room.
"Hello Star." Said princess Celestia
"Hello princess Celestia, princess Luna." He made a bow out of respect.
"How is everything?"
"I'm fine little tired though, have been.. Studying."
Lunar was trying to open the backdoor but was still afraid and was failing badly.
"Thou is always studying. Just sit down we will get drinks."
Lunar shocked and tried harder to open the door, using his teeth this time.
"That won't be necessary princess! I'll do it."
"Thou sure Star?" Asked the solar princess
"Yes! Most defiantly!" Said Starfire while walking to the kitchen
"Mind if we go into thy garden and raise the moon..?"
Starfire shocked while trying not to show them. "Of..of course princess, just follow.." He said before running into the kitchen. The night princess slowly followed.
Lunar looked at him and stretched the door. Starfire removed the lock quickly and pushed Lunar out, princess Luna came around the corner and walked out of the door that Starfire held open for her.
"Thanks Star."
"You’re welcome princess." He closed the door behind her and hoping Lunar was well hidden.
Luna stood in the middle of the garden, took a deep breath and let energy run through her. As she gathered enough energy she started to fly up, her horn had a dark blue glow around it. She flew high as she needed to set her moon into place. She landed gently for the ground as she looked how her moon started her journey.
Lunar had witnessed the beautiful event and he felt everything from the place he was stuck in. The wheel construction was sucked into the mud and Lunar couldn't pull it out.
Luna had felt the hybrid as well and was walking towards him. He turned his head around, started to run in panic, which had no use since the wheels were stuck and not bothering to move.
Luna looked at his tail and grabbed it. Lunar stopped immediately as he entered Luna's mind. Luna let go and was shocked of what she just felt, Lunar wasn't in panic anymore he was confused as he felt all magic 'strings' all around him, from the alicorn behind him to the small creatures everywhere, he had never felt this before. He heard the princess when he was sure she wasn't speaking. He felt how the alicorn felt. Then Lunar felt his legs being freed, he carefully got his hind legs on the ground and saw a way to get out of the garden. But he turned around wanting to look into the eyes of the princess who just saved him.
He walked on the grass and showed himself to the dark alicorn. She looked at the hybrid from tail to mane ending in his eyes, that were already looking at her eyes. Lunar noticed the alicorn slowly moved closer and was just a few centimetres away from his face. He felt his heart racing, but it wasn't him being scared. He never felt it before he moved his head even closer and licked her nose as token of appreciation, slowly moving down towards her mouth and entered. She let him and just accepted the kiss, Lunar could feel her having the same feeling as him so kept going and felt her hooves around his neck, stroking his mane. They didn't let go of each other, Lunar didn't know what the feeling was he was feeling or what was happening with him. But he enjoyed it. Without them knowing Starfire was looking at them as their wings were spread and their mouths on each other.
Lunar slowly left her mouth, already wanting to go in again. They looked in each other’s eyes without saying one word, he didn't know what to do as his eyes didn't want to stop looking into her sparkling eyes. He heard the princess think about him, starting another 'kiss'. He still had no idea what that meant though and about finally finding her dream prince. He closed his eyes for one second and when he opened them the princess had pushed her lips on him again. Lunar went through his hind legs and sat, Luna slowly pushed him down even more making the hybrid lay on his back. Lunar didn't know what was going on but he enjoyed the feeling of being conquered without pain or him caring.
He heard the dark alicorn thinking, sweet thoughts, afraid thoughts and something about 'marepower' for already owning this stallion.
The door opened with a heavy swing.
"LUNA!" Yelled Celestia.
Luna broke the kiss and looked at her sister. Lunar felt anger from the solar princess and quickly crawled under the night princess and started running away from, while fire spells flew passed him.
He stopped when he was a safe distance away from them. He noticed the pain in his hind legs, burning inside. He slowly climbed into a tree and started jumping from tree to tree back to his pack.
Chapter 1.9 - Taking Responsibility
It was late in the evening as he returned to his wolf pack. He walked into the middle of the field, felt sixty different kind of magical signatures, only of his wolves, he roared, not to loud but just loud enough to wake all the wolves and let them know he returned.
He got surrounded by a group of forest wolves. They were growling at him. He just stood watching in front of them, not fearing them. He started walking to a big tree in front of him, two wolves jumped in his way growling and warning him. He roared in their faces and showed his leader necklace and they immediately let him pass. He climbed into the tree like an old wolf, slow and clearly showing he was feeling pain. He reached the top and saw the tree huts he asked for, it gave him a smile on his face, he felt the elder coming behind him. He turned around facing the elder who walked until he was in front of him and bowed in front of him, returning his leadership. He put the leader necklace of the defeated wolf around his leg.
He walked the elder to his hut, feeling happy he was back again he thanked the elder for keeping his place and went to look for his own hut, his hut idea worked and was turned into a whole village, Lunar found it great to see how it had turned out.
He felt the females wolves closing in he looked into the direction they were coming from and awaited them.
As excited as ever they jumped on him and welcomed him back. Lunar enjoyed the attention, less than with the princess but still. They showed them the way to his place, it was a little bigger than all the other huts just in front of the entrance were two wolves standing guard and a white wolf with a black stripe running over its face.
Stripes welcomed Lunar back and he licked her nose, in jealousy of the others. She got inside and Lunar and the wolves followed. There wasn't much inside, lots of space and some rugs and cloth that made for a bed. The hybrid didn't really care about where he would lay down, he just wanted a good long sleep. Stripes stole his spot in the bed and invited him with her tail. He laid down against her and all the females were laying against him. He fall almost instantly in sleep. Dreaming about the night princess.
A month passed by without anything out of the ordinary, Lunar had spent his time hunting, gathering with the hunters. Playing with the Stripes and the rest females and learning from the elders about what is possible to eat and what isn't, how to use a herb to his fullest and everything he needed to know. Lunar loved to learn about everything and enjoyed his time with all of them but every evening he felt lonely and sat alone in a high tree looking at the village and the glimpse of the castle while crying still not understanding where his mother and father went and missing the dark alicorn knowing he couldn't visit her with his responsibilities.
He was hunting and gathering with some other wolves and Stripes. Lunar saw a berry bush and ran towards it, he reached to take some but spits his ears and looked around as he felt magical signatures coming in. He was right, a tree creature jumped out of the woods and threw a wolf against a tree. Lunar jumped against it making it lose its balance, it fall down in the bushes against the ground, Lunar cut of its roots making it unable to stand up. He ran towards the wolf that was hit by the creature, the wolf was squeaking of the pain. Lunar laid his claw against his head and closed his eyes, he was seeking were the pain was. Opened his eyes again once he knew and saw the herb he needed, named Altus. He took some leaves and chewed on them and then did it on the spots were the wolf had pain. Angry screams were heard from the forest he knew other tree creatures were coming. The other wolfs were around him he ordered them to return with him to the elder. He pulled Stipes close to him and gave his leader necklaces to her making her the new leader, which made her the first ever female leader, the hybrid told her to lead the wolf pack he would stop those things he promised her. He gave her a lick on her nose and demanded them to get away.
He saw how they ran away with the injured wolf, waited until they were out of sighed and faced the direction were he felt the most magical energy.
Quietness, silence before the storm. Lunar knew this and took the time to sharpen his front claws, his thoughts were with the wolves he felt he wouldn't see them anymore and was trying to think of somewhere to go. He jumped on his claws just a moment before the creatures jumped out of the bushes and started to charge at the hybrid. Lunar had no hard time dodging them, they were slow but Lunar knew he shouldn't underestimate them. He tried to destroy their bark but his claws had an hard time cutting through them. He tried to create a space for him to escape and lure them away for the safety of the forest wolves. He got hit by one of them and flew against another, blood flew out of his mouth followed by a breath of fire. It burned another one, the tree creature fall down and burns to death. Lunar burned the ground making an opening for himself to run, it worked as the tree creatures walked away from the burning ground.
Lunar took off trying to lure them away from the wolves. After flying for twenty minutes he stopped on an open ground close to a cave. He turned around and waited for them. It didn't take long before they arrived screaming at the hybrid trying to scare him. He waited for them to come close and surround him as it happened they all charged towards him.
His flame burned one after another, they didn't had a chance reaching him. They started to turn around and run away Lunar kept going and didn't stop until they all burned down. Some of them were running trying to get the fires out without any result. One of him ran into the cave making it light up.
Lunar looked around him at the burning corpses regretting what he had done his ears hang down. It started to rain, making an end at the fires and leaving Lunar in the dark forest. He had no time to cry for his deeds though, he looked at the cave as he heard a roar coming from the cave and felt a massive magical energy inside the cave.
The terror struck into him as an ursa major came out of the cave and roared in his face, he couldn't move of the fear he felt. Before he knew it he was launched into the air against the trees. Lunar felt his backside bleeding tried to stand up as the ursa charged at him. He flew up close to the ursa's body while trying to cut him open he heard the creature make an angry cry and smacked the hybrid on the ground. Lunar didn't feel his body as the ursa raged anger on him, Lunar thought this was his end. He laid on his belly no feeling in his body whatsoever. He saw the ursa slowly walking closer as it was finally getting its revenge.
Lunar opened his mouth breathing fire trying to scare the ursa off. It worked! The ursa fled into its cave out of fear.
Lunar stood up. He felt his claws on the ground but there was no feeling in his whole body, nothing.
He walked into the forest his vision was blurred, he only saw his claws in front of him. He finally found a road and started walking it. He heard voices and stopped. He waited for them to come, as they appeared in his sight he noticed they wore masks to cover their faces.
"We have been looking for you." Said one.
Lunar fall down, his last strengths faded away.
