//------------------------------// // Meeting and Escape // Story: Through the Centuries I loved Him // by TARDIS_Brony //------------------------------// Meeting and Escape It was a beautiful day in Equestria the birds were singing and the bees were buzzing. Yes, it was a grand day indeed and where was I? With my flank in a chair inside a stuffy room as I barely listen to the teacher drone on about Math or Science. Staring out of a hole in the wall that somepony had the audacity call a window. "Princess Celestia!" Called out the irate gruff voice of my scraggly bearded teacher snapping me out of my daydream. "Yes, Starswirl." I answered sweetly in the hopes of getting myself free from trouble. Trying to look as innocent as possible as I was stared down by my grouchy, old, cloaked, bell covered teacher. Sad to say the act didn't work. "This is a classroom," He answered in his gruff voice. "Not a time for day dreaming. You are suppose to be learning and taking it seriously." He huffed. As I had to hold back the retort, 'It is hard to take anything seriously when your teacher is a grown stallion wearing bells and a musty old hat.' But I held it back. I was quite proud of myself. "Why can't you be like you little sister Princess Luna." He added as I looked over to the only other student in the class my sister. He had to bring her into this as she scribbled on her parchment. I hated it when Old Scraggy Beard made it out like she was the perfect filly. She was probably doodling. Realizing she was being spoken about my sister looked up and met my glare. She smiled awkwardly and shyly looking away and tried to melt into the chair without much success. Don't get me wrong I love my little sister. She is my only pony friend I have in this lonely castle of ours. She is just very shy, perhaps one day she will grow out of it and learn to stand for herself. Sure there are other ponies here, but most of them are staff and the others are the Nobles. I shudder the day I will have play nice and smile a fake smile as some pompous pony noble talk about themselves. Thinking about that makes me think about my parents Lord Shadow and Lady Light. Those are not even their real names it is just what everypony calls them. They come and go to the castle as they please, I can't wait till my wing grow in more so I can do that, but they rarely stay long and go Goddess knows where. They and Scraggy Bead have been on edge lately like they are expecting something to happen and soon. "Which one of you knows what happened here at the castle about twenty years ago?" Asked the teacher. Breaking me from my musings. Naturally I knew the answer. I was sure my sister did too. I prescribe to the theory that Old Scraggy Beard has limited amount questions he can ask us. Which why it is the same questions every single year since he started teaching us. He claims it is pony history. I think he just runs out of things to ask to make sure we are paying attention. "We believe...it was a giant influx of magic gathered and explode. Master Starswirl" Answered my sister tentatively using the Royal way of speaking, Goddess knows why. "Yes, Princess Luna very good." He said showering my sister with praise. "And do you know what that event caused, Princess Celestia?" He asked singling me out. "You mean beside a huge hole in the wall." I answered jokingly. I am sure I heard my sister snicker at this. Unfortunately all I got from the grumpy old pony was a glare. I sighed as I answer. "The magical release caused the plants and animals to change and alter where no pony is needed to take care of them and the clouds to move on there own, " taking a small breath. "In short it lead to the creation of the Forever Free Forest. In which this castle boarders and has a backyard." Finishing my explanation with a sigh having given it many time before. "Yes, you are correct Princess," he spoke acknowledging my answer. "It did lead to the forest in which this castle currently boarders. However, it is no longer the Forever Free the name has been changed." He added as I looked at him unaware of this new change. "Why is that, Master Starswirl?" Asked my sister as I too wanted to know the answer. "The reason is...," as he paused with a sad look in his eyes as if reflecting something terrible had happened. Making me think there is more to what happened that day than we know. "It is the 20 year anniversary of the event," continuing his explanation. " And the Lord and Lady wanted to change it. They decided to change the name to the Everfree Forest." He finished not really giving us a full answer to the question. "So it is a celebration?" I asked trying to get more out of him. I was no foal I could feel there was more to it. Unfortunately he was a stubborn pony. "That is right!" He exclaimed turning back around no longer facing us. "Now let us get back to the lesson." Trying to end the conversation right there, but I do not give in easily. "But this is the lesson, so why are you not teaching?" I said in a huff. He continued to look away and write on the board using his magic. "Fine be way," I huffed more. "If not not going to teach us that could you actually teach something useful, like magic." By the speed he turned around to stare at me I knew I said something wrong. "What makes you think magic is more useful than what I teach?" He asked with an accusing eye. "All lessons are important," he spoke continuing to stare at me. "I use to be like you. Thinking magic was more important than everything else. It took me meeting a wiser pony than myself to teach me the errors of my ways." He spoke from heart as the sad look came back. "I haven't seen my friend in a very long time." He changed his moods so quickly. I was no longer sure if he was the same grouchy teacher from before. "I just want to know something about magic," I say looking down my fight having left me. "Your considered the best unicorn mage ever and we don't even a simple levitation spell." I speak a little frustrated feeling like a foal trying to keep myself from breaking down. "You want to know more about magic," he looks at me I can't help but nod. I think my sister does as well as he glances in her direction. "Very well than I will teach you both and to start I will show you the greatest power in Equestria. We are going on a small field trip." He said with a smile as I was in shock about what happened as he lead us to the door. I was excited. I didn't know where we going, but I didn't care. I was out of that stuffy room as I followed behind the teacher with my sister in tow. She did not appear as excited as I that we were now going somewhere different. "Where do you think we are going?" I ask her with a feeling she would most likely not answer, but I just want to talk to somepony. I could barely contain myself. "Do you think we will leave the castle? Perhaps we will have to go into the Forever Free, I mean Everfree? Wouldn't that be fun? Dodging Manticores and Cockatrices. Maybe we will see a Phoenix. I always wanted one as a pet." I rambled until I noticed my sister looking more scared than excited at my imagination. "Or maybe we will be going to a nice tranquil waterfall," changing my approach to ease her panic. "Perhaps we will see Cerberus on the way," this brought a smile to her face. Cerberus was such a good dog. To bad he was so large he had to stay out of the castle or else risking stepping on somepony. All three of his heads were so loving. He could get me covered in drool after one his tongue baths that I would need one after. He also served as the rear guard of castle against all the creatures of the Forever Free, I mean Everfree, not even the Hydra would take him on. As my excitement began to wined down I noticed we were not headed out of the castle, but further down into it. My thoughts began to wonder what is the greatest power in Equestria? My first thoughts was of my parents, they raise and lower the Sun and Moon after all. However, they are not in the castle at the moment and I doubt they are hidden in the basement. I tried to think of any other power greater known to ponykind, but was unable. There are many magical items that I know of, but none the reach the power of my parents. It looks like I do not have to think much longer because we arrived at a large sealed door. "Behind these doors lies the greatest power in Equestria," spoke my bearded teacher. His horn lighting up his magic dancing over the door making the symbols on it glow as it opened to his magic. "This door is sealed to all, but myself and the Lord and Lady," he said taking a breath as I was giddy and excited for more, "Behold the Elements of Harmony." The room was lite with magic letting out a bright glow that shined for a moment and then dimmed as I looked at excitement for this great power. My excitement was quickly smashed when all I saw were five rocks on a pedestal that looked like they were circling each other. "Is this them?" I asked showing my clear disappointment. "Yes," he answered as I wanted to scream in frustration at him tricking us. "However, they are in hibernation." He spoke swiftly replacing my anger with questions. "What do you mean, Master Starswirl?" Asked my sister beating me to the question I wanted to ask. "I mean as of right now no pony can use them," as I thought they can't be used what good are they. "The reason is that one element is missing there is suppose to be six elements not five." "Then why has no pony gone out to find the last one?" I ask wanting an answer for why if they are so important no pony has tried to locate the last one. "Because the last one cannot be found. It must be made," I blink and stare at him in confusion. "The final element will only come to the pony who needs it, when they need it most. For the bonds of friendship will aid them in chasing away the darkness," giving a small pause. "At least that what a voice said when the elements came into existence 20 years ago," he finished shocking me and my sister. "That is when the Fore.. I mean Everfree Forest came into being," I remarked and he just nodded. "Was the making of the elements what caused the influx?" I asked carefully not wanting to anger him. "No," he answered, "Something else caused the influx, but the element were created as a response to the threat." He looked at me and spoke once more predicting my next question of what caused the influx. "Hope sake of everypony you never find out." My questions stopped there terrified of whatever he was speaking of my sister shuddering to his warning. "Enough about the past," changing subjects. "I brought you here to learn about the elements. My mind to focused on what he said before to pay attention still somewhat scared. "Whirl," I looked up and looked around. What was the noise? Was I so scared that imagining noises? That is what I thought until I heard it again. "Whirl," I know I heard it now. What was it? I have never heard a noise like it before and in my scared state it only made it that much worse. "Whirl," It sounded like a pony that was wheezing while writing a chalkboard. I was scared so I did the only thing I could think of, I called out to my teacher. "Master Starswirl," I called out in a panic. Whatever he was talking about he stopped mid sentence and stared back at me mouth hanging open, any other time I might of laughed, in shock I used his named. "What is it Celestia?" Regaining his composer. "I do not think we are alone here," my ears straining to hear the noise again, but it has seemed to disappeared. "I kept hearing a noise. I don't know what it was? I think some other pony is here," voicing my concerns to my teacher. "No pony else is here Celestia," trying to calm me. "As I told you before only I and your parents have access here. It would be impossible for any other pony to be here." "Impossible you say," said a mysterious voice from the dark. My teacher moving faster than I ever seen before. Huddling my sister and I together, both of us scared, his horn a light with magic ready to protect us. "The impossible is what you once accused me of doing everyday," said the voice as an elder grey stallion with a white mane stepped out of the darkness. "Is that right Starswirl," he finished with grin of accomplishment at surprising our teacher. "D-D-Doctor?" stammered my teacher as he dropped his magic and stared in shock at the stallion he seemed to know. I came out from behind our teacher to get a better look. His white mane looked combed back as he worn some sort of black jacket as he stood proudly in front of us. That grin still on his face it was mischievous and child like despite his age. "Of course it is me," he answered as if it was the most obvious thing. "Why were you expecting somepony else?" Throwing my teacher off guard still smirking at him. "Well no," said my teacher trying to save himself. "I wasn't expecting anypony to appear we were suppose to be alone." He answered motioning to us who stood partially behind him. "I am disappointed in you Starswirl. Have I taught you nothing my boy," this pony taught my teacher I was in shock, he already looked old, just how old was he? "When you think your alone is the perfect time for an enemy to strike," the elder stallion continued to treat my teacher like a colt. "Especially when you have the two heirs of Equestria under your protection," he finished in an all knowing conceded voice. "I know," spoke our teacher looking down as if this stallion's view of him mattered. "I am sorry Doctor," he sad as I felt bad for him, even though he has done the same to me before. "It is quite alright my boy," responded the Doctor his voice now caring and understanding. "No harm done, but I hope you learned a lesson from this. One can never be too careful," smiled the Doctor. Trotting to my teacher putting a hoof on his shoulder and pulled him into a hug. "I missed you Starswirl," my teacher returned the hug. "I missed you too Doctor," said my teacher as I got a closer look at this Doctor and saw his cutie mark for the first time it was of an Hourglass. The two of them backed out of their embrace the Doctor looked closer at my teacher I thought I heard a snicker. "What is that ghastly thing on your face," laughed the Doctor. "Is that a beard? How long have I been gone? When I last saw it was just a stubble." He laughed at my teacher's discomfort as I hid my snickers and joined him. "Yes it is a beard Doctor," he signed. "I think it grew in nicely and it goes with my title, Starswirl the Bearded." He responded proudly, however it only earned a laugh from the Doctor. "Is that so perhaps I should be called Doctor the White," he responded touching his mane. "Actually that is not a bad title," clearly thinking on it. "Makes me sound like a mage despite the lack of a horn." "Perhaps Doctor," laughed my teacher. "You will have to take it up with Lord Shadow and Lady Light if you want the title," he spoke speaking about my parents. "Who," asked the Doctor staring at my teacher who looked over at us. "Ah yes, them I am not familiar with their titles. I would much rather use their names. I looked at this new stallion with wonder he actually knew my parents and he knew their names. That made me excited and it allowed me to speak. "You know my parents names?" I ask with bright eyed curiosity wanting to know them. "Of course I do," he looked back at me as he answered. "Don't you?" I shook my head. "What is this Starswirl? The poor filly doesn't know her own parents names. Why is that?" Directing his question to my teacher. "I am not sure Doctor," he answered. "I am sure that the Lord and Lady have their reasons." The Doctor seem to think on this. "I will respect their wishes for now, but this is not the end of it," the Doctor responded as he saw my disappointment. "Don't worry little filly I will sort this out," he smiled at me. "I have a name," I pouted still upset about the secret of my parents names. "Of course you do," he shot back as he looked my over. "Lets see, young white filly with wings and a horn and sky blue mane. Ah I know who you are Celestia." He grinned as he correctly told me my name as he turned and looked over my sister. "Dark purple with some black and midnight blue mane. Luna the youngest of the family," he smiled at her. "How do you know who we are?," asked my sister as she eyed the elder stallion with caution. "That is a simple answer," he smiled. "I was there when you were born," my sister staring back at him as I matched her shock. "Oh yes met you when you were just born. Your parents felt I was important enough to make your Godfather and Celestia too," he spoke with a smile. "You can call me Doctor or perhaps Grandfather. Yes I like that much better than Godfather anyway." "Grandfather," my sister teared up as she stared at the old stallion with the childish grin. She shot forward and hugged his legs balling her eyes out. "Sister," she spoke to me. "Isn't this wonderful we have family outside our parents," she cried into his coat. As he stroked her mane trying to calm her. "If you are so important then why haven't you been here?" I ask angry at this bit of news. We had somepony else we could of turned too when we needed, but was not here. "Ah yes that," the Doctor spoke now turning sadly to me. "I have been traveling to ensure the safety of you and your parents and Equestria." Turning now to my teacher, "I am afraid I come bearing bad news. There is nothing that can be done to prevent it he is returning." My teacher stood open mouthed. "No it can't be true," as I listened unsure what he was denying. "He was banished and now your saying he is to return." Looking at the Doctor as if expecting a change of answer. "I am afraid so," was the Doctor's response. "If the nature of the spell described to me by you is true. The banishment was never meant to be forever. It is because he is so powerful that he is able to return so soon." Looking at my teacher with a small smile. "By the way you never did tell me how you managed to summon up such a powerful spell." "Everypony is entitled to his secrets Doctor," my teacher smiled back. "But I will tell you I had help from a very good friend," trying to bring joy to the conversation. "Who is returning?" I asked unable to stop my curiosity. They both looked at me then each other, my teacher shook his head no while the Doctor thought on it. As I believed they would keep the truth from us. "If you won't tell them I will Starswirl," answered the Doctor as I looked back at him unbelieving. "They will find out soon enough anyway," looking at both me and my sister. "The he who we speak of is no pony. He is a creature of Chaos and is warped just as much," he spoke sternly and directly us making every word of his important. "It was his doing that created the forest that is outside the castle," I held my breath at this trying to swallow my fear wanting to know the rest. "It is he who the Elements of Harmony were created to fight. His name is Discord," he spoke the name with such distaste and anger. I knew he was not a creature I wanted to meet. I sat there as I took in all this new information. Everything was coming together all those secrets and the preparing. It was all because of this monster that was due to come into this world. It was a threat to everypony and it could come at anytime. "Then we should fight it," I responded as I saw my teacher's shocked face. "It is a threat to everypony if we don't stop it who will," I saw the Doctor look of approval. "I agree with the filly," responded the Doctor. "She has spunk, but she is right we should fight running away will solve nothing," he grinned looking to my teacher. "But we can't fight him," spoke my teacher bringing me down. "We are not ready we lack the ability fight him. We need more time." "Time is not something we have Starswirl," spoke the Doctor in loud voice. "We have the Elements. We must use them to stop this evil before it takes over Equestria." "The Elements are incomplete," spoke my teacher sadly. "They are useless. The Lord and Lady are unable to wield them. They had hoped in time their children could do what they could not." I stood there in shock unable to respond. I know I just said I would fight, but me and my sister were expect to wield unknown magic and hope defeat some great evil. My parents expected so much from me. I was not fully sure I could do it. And my poor sister she was shaking in fear at the very idea of even meeting this monster. "Are they insane Starswirl," voiced the Doctor in anger. "They want to fillies who never even used magic to wield the greatest power in Equestria." "They were hoping for more time Doctor," pleaded my teacher. "They had hoped they would be much older when the time came to fight." I was scared what could I do against something so strong. "Enough," grunted the Doctor. "I will hear no more excuses. Where are they? I will get my answers strait from the source," he spoke sure of what needed to be done. "Tell me where they are Starswirl," he questioned my teacher staring him down. "I will search every corner of Equestria if I have to." "There will be no need to do that Doctor," spoke a soothing voice as my mother appearing in a flash of light. "We are here," spoke the gruff voice of my father as he formed out of the shadows from the wall. My mother and father were here. It felt like it has been months since I last seen them. They looked as powerful and regal as always. My mother flew down gracefully landing close to us. Her mane and tail shined like the Sun she controlled. They was orange and gold and and flowed so smoothly. Her coat was the light soft blue I nuzzled against as a younger foal. Her cutie mark was that of a rising sun. My father trotted towards us stepping free from the shadows he was part of. His mane and tail glowed silver like the moon that rose in the sky at night. His coat as dark and black as the shadows he ruled over. His cutie mark that of a half of a silver moon with some stars on his flank. "Very good your both here," the Doctor looks them over hardly fazed. "So which one of you wants to be the focus of my disappointment," he talks down to them like foals despite them being royalty. As I find myself wonder just who is this Doctor and how he can carry so much authority. "Go to your mother," spoke my father as he stood before the Doctor to take the his attention. We quickly went to our mother as we watched in amazement as this normal old earth pony stood to before an Alicorn unfazed. "Protecting those you care about," watching as we stay with our mother. "Very good I am glad something I taught you got through," he spoke superiorly to my father. "Unlike everything else is seems. How often have I told that the innocent should never be involved. Yet here you are wanting your fillies to fight against Discord." "We didn't want them to Doctor," shot back my father. "We couldn't wield the only power strong enough to fight him. We had hoped they would have time and be ready when he came," my father reasoned. "Well your time is up," the Doctor continued. "I am sure you both can feel as he rips his way back into this world," I look around seeing the sad looks on my parents confirming this fact. The thoughts going through my head what are we going to do? Is there anything we can do? "So what is your plan now?" He asks my father looking directly at him. "We were hoping that you would take them with you," my father's words clearly shocking the Doctor. "What are you mad?" Responded the Doctor. "You know I have little control over where I go. What if the place I go is even more dangerous than here? You foal, do you have any idea what your asking?" "Yes I do Doctor," spoke my father sure of himself. "I have searched the night sky and found a place where they will be safe to learn. We have created a beacon that aid your vessel in getting to it," as mother made a small flashing crystal appear showing it to the Doctor. "Learn," spoke the Doctor checking out the beacon. "You make it sound like I am going to be the sole pony caring for them. Even if I agree with this foalish plan I can't do it alone," he speaks looking at my teacher. "Starswirl come with me. You know them far better than I do and I will need you when it comes to teaching them magic." "I am sorry Doctor," answered my teacher. "But I will be needed here to watch over the Elements also I have a family now. I cannot abandon them," he responded sadly looking away from the Doctor. "I understand Starswirl," responds the Doctor. "Family is important. As for you," staring back at my father. "I am afraid I am going to have to refuse your request. Your fillies would be much safer here with you than they would ever be with me. But, I will not abandon you in your time of need," taking his stand on the issue. "With my aid we will be able to ward off this evil. We will make the Elements work and use them against Discord," the Doctor spoke so assuredly that I started to believe him. "Together we will succeed and make this land safe for all the ponies who live in it," he smiled as finished his inspiring speech. "Your wrong Doctor," spoke my father sadly as the Doctor looked back at him in shock. "Even together with your help things would only be delayed. Discord will still win," retorted my father to the Doctor speech. "He is Chaos given form. He is ... I don't think we can fight him," my father looking away unable to meet the Doctor in the eyes anymore. Wondering why my father gave pause. looking at my mother only to see tears rolling down her eyes. "So the truth comes out," accused the Doctor. "It is more than you just can't fight him. You refuse to fight. Just because of the past," the Doctor glared at both of of my parents. "No wonder the Elements do not work for you. You want to change things back to how it was before. However, you cannot and you realize that. So you want you fillies to fight for you," my parents looking away confirming his theory. "I am disappointed in both of you. Perhaps I should tell your fillies why your so reluctant to fight," threatened the Doctor. "Please don't Doctor," pleaded my mother stepping forward away from my sister and I. "If they knew the truth they would most likely not fight as well." "You should give them the choice then," spoke the Doctor harshly. "Instead you keep the truth from them and teach them to fight your battles for you. But I will respect your wishes and say nothing," unhappily agreed the Doctor to their request. "Thank you Doctor," said my mother as he just grumbled. "There is another reason we want them to go with you," she paused as she collected herself. "They will not be safe here with us. We have planned to give Celestia and Luna our powers and abilities." "What," yelled the Doctor as he spun around quickly facing my mother. "You both truly are foals," he said harshly. "Giving that type of power to untrained fillies. Making yourselves almost completely helpless. Not to mention the sacrifice ... Oh no," as he face changed from anger to sadness. "Please tell me your not thinking about seriously thinking about this." "We do not have a choice Doctor," my mother sadly smiled. "Discord must never know about the worlds beyond this one. We will seal him on this world alone so no others will be threatened by him. So please take our fillies with you. We trust you Doctor," spoke my mother making her final plea. "There is no changing your minds," he looked over to my parents judging them as they shook their head. "Very well, but I do it for them not you," he said looking at us once more. "Well you two say your goodbyes," then to my parents. "Bring them to the ship when everything is ready," he spoke trotting off into the dark and out of sight. Everything was happening so quickly. My mind a whirlwind of emotions I was confused, frightened, and somewhat angry. I felt like a cloud being guided by a pegasus. No real choice where I was going just along for the trip. I wish I was back in that stuffy old classroom again sitting at my desk as my teacher taught. I wish I never came down here. Maybe then nothing would of changed and it would of been like every other day. I wish a lot of things, but it changes little I was going to have to say good bye to my parents and my teacher. Looking over to my sister as I wonder if her thoughts are similar to my own. I can clearly see her tears as she cries holding our mother as father strokes her mane. She usually more open about her emotions than myself. "Do we really have to go," I say tearing up unable to hold back anymore as I nuzzle my fathers black coat. He only nods as he strokes my mane and I try not to break down. "You need to be strong Celestia," he speaks to me. "For both yourself and your little sister and watch over the Doctor too," I look up to see a small smile. "He may look old, but he can get himself in a lot of trouble if left on his own. He is a harsh teacher, but he cares even if he is a bit rough around the edges. He will take care of you," he smiles assuring me that I will be safe after I leave. "Princess Celestia and Luna," spoke my teacher. "It has been an honor teaching both of you. I am sorry that I hid so much from you. I hope I am forgiven," he asks as my sister goes and hugs him and I just nod. "Part of me wishes to go on adventures again, but I cannot. I promise my family and I will keep the Elements safe from Discord until your return to Equestria. I hope you have safe travels," he bows to us then steps away. "My darling little fillies," spoke my tearing mother. "I wish we had more time. You are so young to do what we ask of you. I wish I could of watched you grow up," she says sadly crying against our father. "I love you both so very much and know you will make us proud. Watch out for each other please," she asked sadly as we nodded. They lead us deeper into the room leaving our teacher behind. I did not want to go, but I was curious what was this ship that they spoke of. They and the Doctor mentioned it a few times. I have heard of sailing ships that go across the water, but there is no water here. Also of ones the flew in the sky attached to balloons, but this room has no sky. This ship must be small if the Doctor got it in this room at all. Remembering that we are far below ground and also the magical barrier around the place. How did the Doctor get a ship in here at all? Then I saw a light as we moved closer. It looked sort of like a lamp as it shined brightly. It was what was under it that got my attention. It was a blue box and was made of wood. Was this some sort of illusion? I explored around it and even knock on it with my hoof. It was a blue box and it was made of wood. I looked it over more questioning what I saw it looked large enough for a single pony. As I looked over to my sister who has now joined me in checking out this odd box. "Sister," she said. "We believe we have found the doors." Moving over to where she was and looked ourselves. She was correct I saw the double doors with dark tinted windows. "What is it?" She asked me like I knew the answer. "That my dear filly is the TARDIS," spoke the Doctor surprising the both of us. "It stands for Time and Relative Dimension In Space," he continued as he walked out of the dark and to us and to it. "In short it is a time machine," he smiled to use opening the door and motioning us to go as he vanished inside. My sister and I looked at each other then our parents our mother motioning to go in. Everypony must be crazy I thought, but went in my sister following behind. My mouth hung open at what I saw. It was huge inside how was it possible? My eyes stared open in wonder there were lights blinking and metal objects making funny noises. In the center was this round large metal thing that blinked and flashed with colored pieces all over. Inside that this was a clear object was it glass? It was a cylinder from what I could tell. "How do you like my TARDIS," spoke the Doctor as he gave that youthful grin of his at our shock. "Your parents had a similar reaction the first time too. Isn't that right?" Looking behind us noticing our parents had followed us in. "Yes Doctor it is true," spoke my father. "We came to give you the beacon Doctor," he spoke as the glowing ball was given to the Doctor. "I wish I could change your mind," spoke the Doctor sadly. "You know once you give them your abilities you won't be able the truth from them." "We know Doctor," calmly spoke my mother as she stood sadly. "Celestia please come forth," as I listen a stood before her. "It is with all the love and care in Equestria I give you my power over the Sun. May you always shine brightly,"she spoke touching her horn to mine. The magic that touched me was light at first, but the grew greatly as it flowed through my body. Magic I never knew crammed itself into my mind. The warmth of the day's embrace took me over. The power flowed through my small body as I saw the glow and felt my cutie mark of the Sun appear. My mane change as colors pink and green was added to it. I could feel the magic around me as I felt how truly close Discord was it made me shudder. The change was over me was immense it was as if I was a completely different pony. I looked over at my mother a change came over her as well. Her mane was no longer the bright colors I knew, but had turned a dull yellow blond. She looked as if she had age several years in mere moments. "Luna come forth," spoke my father. My transformation still running through my body, but now it looked that it was sister's turn. "It is with a heavy heart I place this burden on you," he stated sadly. "I place my power oven the Moon into your care. May you glow brightly in the night," he spoke as he touched his horn with my sister's. Her body changed as my father's magic transfered to her. I watched as the night sky seemed to appear in her mane. I noticed as her cutie mark appeared and it took shape of a crescent moon. She looked overwhelmed by the experience much like I was. I glanced over to my father he had changed as well. Gone was his shiny mane now it was grey and dull much like the Doctors mane. "Now that the transfer has been made we must go," spoke my mother sadly. "We are sorry that things turned out this way. But know we both love you very much and know you will grow up to be beautiful mares. Good bye my little fillies," my mother cried as she left through the doors. "Doctor," spoke my father. "Take good care of them. Close the doors after I leave. For they will soon realize what we done," then looks at us. "Safe travels my daughters. May you be greater rulers of Equestria then we ever were," leaving us the doors closing behind him. My mind was in shock still processing what had happened. Looking to the Doctor for some clue as to what they were talking about. He said nothing as he continue to work on the beacon doing so many things I do not understand. Then it flashed through my mind so swiftly that I hardly noticed it till I started to cry. I look back at the door willing them to open. I no longer wanted this power the cost was to great. I noticed my sister crying as well she knew the truth as well. I looked over to the Doctor pleading with my eyes to open the door. "I am sorry Celestia," he spoke sadly. "They made their choice nothing can be done. You can't give it back," continuing to work as more lights lit up and the glass tube in the middle moving up and down. I cried with my sister. Holding each other trying to cope with the fact that we would never see our parents again. "Is there anything we can do Doctor?" I ask desperately wanting an answer to my sorrow. "Yes there is," he spoke directly to us standing tall making sure he is heard. "You can take the gifts your parents gave you and learn how to use them. Master them and use them wisely. Then when you are ready we will return to Equestria to fight off the evil. Only by defeating this evil together will you fulfill your parent wishes. That is what you can do," he told us to inspire us to learn and work hard. "Tell me are you ready," he asked us both. "To do what it takes . To learn what you must. To fulfill your parents hopes and dreams," looking at my sister as we nodded. "We are ready Doctor," responded both of us. "Very well then off we go," he spoke doing a collection of things as the glass tube moved up and down more. "Whirl," it was the noise from before. The noise that changed my life. I do not understand fully what is going on or how all of this works. But I do know that we are leaving and we will return. When we return I will be ready to fight for my Equestria and all the little ponies who live in it.
