Chapter 2 (Winter Wrap up)
You awake a few hours later, your eyes slowly open as you take in the morning sun. You no longer feel Twilight next to you so you roll over to see if she is still there, she’s not. At first you feel like a little sick because you fear you might have had imagined last night, but closer inspection of the bed and you find purple strains of hair. Note to self I’m not crazy but I might be a little insecure. You sit up in the bed and rub your eyes as you get up from the bed you make sure to give a loud moan as if to make sure the whole world knows you're up.
You walk towards the stairs and look down, you see Twilight standing at the podium like she normal dose and you see Spike sitting in a nearby chair holding what looks and smells like hot coco.
As you near the bottom of the stairs Twilight turns around “Good morning sleepy head.” Her smile is something that has always made morning not so bad as of lately.
You walk over to her and pet her head.
“I thought you would like to know the Princess loves the idea of stopping by, she has always wanted to see winter wrap up in person and with you here she has another reason.”
You look toward Spike “You feeling better buddy?”
Spike slams his head on the table “Why are you both yelling I'M RIGHT HERE!”
He gets up and walks past both of you, “I’m going back to bed it’s too early to be.”
Twilight shakes her head a looks at you “He did this last year too. Anyways we need to start now you have a lot of training to do before the Princess shows up.”
“How long do we have?” you ask
Twilight taps her hoof to her mouth “hmm I would say a few days.”
You think over what she said a few days… good going Twilight I can’t even study for a test in a few days.
You sigh “ok what do we need to?”
“We will start with simple magic and move slowly, this is your first day and I don’t want to overload you.”
You think to yourself for a moment on what she said, first day? Doesn't want to overload me? She must not know you’re a master wizard on Oblivion… damn you video games.
Twilight floats a book over to you “Here put this back on the shelf.”
You smile to yourself as you walk over and place it on the bookshelf she took it from.
“Ha ha very funny.” She floats the book from the shelf and places it on the table “Now try it with magic.”
You lift your hands up and stare at the book. Twilight watches with a smile as the book floats off the table. The book floats pass you both towards the shelf, you feel proud as the book fits into the shelf.
You smile as she hops around you
“Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes”
“Great job that was the first test and you did great.”
“Hey Twilight I hate to break it to you but I kind of did this yesterday, shouldn’t I try something different?”
Twilight stops jumping around “oh yes of course.” She looks around the room for a few minutes “AH here we got.”
She lowers her head and her horn glows purple, all the books on a nerdy shelf start to float and then fall to the ground with a loud bang.
You're surprised Spike didn’t hear the racket; you look to Twilight “Ok what do I have to do?”
Twilight sits down on the floor “Lift all the books up and place them back on the shelf.”
You smile a little at the comment and think to yourself oh Twilight you underestimate my powers. You turn to the messy pile of books and try your luck…no good the books stay flat and you look like a fool flapping your arms up and down.
Twilight laughs a little at your fail, it makes you feel a little embarrassed but you keep trying, you eventually get one of the books to float up and you try to place it back on the shelf but instead of it being gently placed it flies at you and hits you in the head…ow… you stagger a bit, who keeps a huge leather book on a shelf to practice magic with really?
“Are you ok?” Twilight stops laughing.
“ya i’m fine.”
“You want to call it quits I’m sure the Princess won’t expect you to do too much.”
You think to yourself for a minute but the wanting to be a wizard blinds your judgment “Naw I’m going to continue.”
After a few more tries you finally get the books to place themselves on the shelves. You look back to Twilight she claps her hooves happily “Good now lets get something to eat before we continue.”
You have been so determined to try the spells you have completely forgot about food, your stomach quickly takes control of your mind as you shake your head in agreement.
You have never really been big for vegetables or fruit but since you have lived here you have found a new respect for them. Although going cold turkey REALLY sucks… you have cravings for meat all the time but after meeting Fluttershy you knew you would never be able to go and eat a rabbit or fish or any other kind of animal. You look across the table towards Twilight she is reading a book and hovering an apple close to her. You look down at the apple you grabbed off the plate in front of you look over it’s red skin twisting the apple in your hand as you do it. You find it funny how the first thing you gave to Twilight was an apple as you bit into the delicious apple you think about what is was like seeing a talking horse for the first time. You don’t know why you were so open minded about, you look back to Twilight as she continues reading the book you study her face and come to the conclusion it’s her big purple eyes that won you over and made you not feel so crazy.
Twilight looks up from her book and realizes you have been staring at her “Umm are you ok.”
You shrug, which in all honesty probably wasn’t the coolest thing you could have done. You then wonder to yourself why you care if that was cool or not.
Twilight puts the book down and start staring at you her big eyes start to make you smile “what’s so funny?” she ask.
You respond “Do you know how cute you look?”
She blushes at your comment
You quickly try to cover up what you said “Well you know I mean like do you know how umm like a puppy with umm.”
She giggles at your failed attempt at a cover up, before you try another attempt your saved by the sound of Spike sneezing.
Twilight looks towards the stairs “Spike, tell me you didn’t.”
“Um dose Owlicious molt around winter?”
“One minute.”
Twilight disappears in a flash of purple magic as she teleports up stairs.
There’s a knock at the door, at first you think you should call out to Twilight to answer but then you realize I’m an adult and I can handle opening a door. You walk over to the door and open it.
“Oh hey dude where’s Twilight?” Rainbow is dressed in a blue vest with the insigne of a cloud, “She’s up stairs, why you got that vest on.”
Rainbow look at her vest “Oh ya this stupid thing, the mayor thinks if we are put into team with team leaders that we can clean winter up faster.”
“Clean winter up?” you ask
“Oh ya you guys don’t have to do that where you’re from… well every year we pegasus move snow clouds down from the north over Ponyville and after the month is up we move them back.”
Wow I have been here a month, you stare into space thinks about that for a moment but no one simply ignore Rainbow Dash, she jabs at you “Hello you ok?”
“ya I’m fine.”
“Ya well where is Twilight we need her to oversee everything.”
You look up the stairs and call Twilights name. She poof next to you, “Hi Rainbow, what do you need?”
“Um hello Twilight Winter Wrap up? You didn’t forget did you?”
“Oh yes of course not.” She looks back to you “this usually takes a long time you should write a letter to the Princess on what you have learn so far.” She smiles at you as she walks back up stairs “let me get my vest Rainbow.”
You’re a little mad at her comment, writing? What happened to the Princess coming by and oh no need to write?
Rainbow laughs “Ha you have to do those things to?”
You nod.
“I hate those things, mainly because I hate writing but also because half the things I send her I already knew. What do you send something like, oh today I met Pinkie pie and she is crazy.”
She continues to laugh at her joke but you don’t join her mainly due to the fact those are pretty much the things you send her.
“What are you going to put this time huh something about vest on ponies?”
“Well I was but I guess that does sound dumb, I guess I’ll talk about sleeping with Twilight.”
Rainbow stops laughing and stares at you her tomboyish voice cracks when she speaks “What?!”
You look at her reaction her wings are spread out and she looks at you in confusion, it then dawns on you what you said, but come on that can’t mean the same thing here right? “What?” you say to her.
Rainbow blushes, its really noticeable on her cyan blue face “Well that’s not the kind of thing the Princess would probably want to know…you know?”
Yep it means the same thing, you try your luck at a cover up “oh no Rainbow not like that I mean she had to sleep in my bed because of Spike burning his on account of him being drunk.”
Rainbow puts her wings down and talks more normally now “Oh ya he was pretty drunk last night you know too much cider.”
First thought ha! Twilight it is alcohol, you nod your head at her comment and you both laugh a little.
Twilight finally comes down the stairs now “Ok Rainbow ready to go?”
Rainbow looks at Twilight “Sure but don’t you need to kiss your special somepony good bye?”
Twilight blushes and stammers with her words “Special somepony what, what are you talking about Rainbow?”
Rainbow nudges you and flies out of the doorway towards town, Twilight walks past you to follow her “Listen Spike is still a little… um”
“Hungover?”
Twilight gives in “sure, so be quiet if you try any magic nothing to big, I should be back before dark so that should be plenty of time to write to Celestia.”
You nod and wave goodbye as she starts down the road to Ponyville, your happy you get to close the door you don’t have shoes on and your feet feel like icicles as you walk on the wood of the house, note to self still fucking cold!
