Chapter 2 - A Lone Saiyan in a Peaceful World
"Ugh, how long do we have to wait?" Rainbow Dash groaned impatiently. Applejack took a moment to look over to her friend.
"Well, we did kinda go a lil' fast for 'em, it may take 'em a while tah get here." Applejack answered.
Rainbow Dash groans yet again. Suddenly, an idea popped into Rainbow's head. She looked at Applejack, "Hey Applejack, how about we go in there ourselves?" Applejack gave her a stern look.
"D'y'all even know how dangerous that could be?" Applejack questioned.
"Oh come on, Applejack!" Rainbow Dash hovered slightly into the air, "Do YOU even know how fun it'll be?" Applejack sighed and shook her head.
"Rainbow, y'all really need tah set some limits to yourself," Applejack then looked away, "It'll get yah killed one o' these days." Rainbow Dash pouted and crossed her front hooves.
"Hmph! You're starting to sound like Twilight, Aj." Rainbow Dash groaned.
"It's jus' common sense, Rainbow. Maybe y'all should use it more." Applejack replied.
Rainbow Dash looks into the dark, creepy forest, "Fine. But I'm going in anyway. I wanna know what that was." Rainbow Dash almost began to take off, but was pulled to the ground from her tail by Applejack.
"Who-ho there, girl! Y'all ain't goin' in there without yer friends. It's way too dangerous in there." Applejack told her blue friend.
Applejack smirks as Rainbow Dash descended to the ground. Rainbow Dash sighs as she speaks, "Alright Applejack, I'll wait 5 more minutes." Applejack then genuinely smiles at her friend, knowing that the sound could have been anything, even something that could hurt them.
"Buzz-kill," Rainbow Dash grumbles as she crosses her hooves. Applejack whips her head toward her friend.
"What was that?" Applejack says.
"Nothing..." Rainbow replies.
A few minutes pass by of endless and pointless boredom for Rainbow Dash, until the sound of hooves pounding against the dirt ring through the two ponies' eardrums. Twilight and Pinkie Pie show up in the distance, trotting up to the two in just a few seconds.
Twilight trots up to Applejack, but before she can say anything, Pinkie bounces in between the two and bursts in, "Who won!? Won won!?"
Rainbow Dash grins, and huffs out her chest, "Well, after my quick moves and lightning fast speed-"
Applejack cuts Rainbow off, "Ah won." As the girls chuckle, Rainbow Dash blushes from humility.
"I was getting to that..." Rainbow mutters. Applejack turns her head and speaks.
"Yeah, sure yah were." After a few moments, the giggling dies down. Twilight clears her throat.
"All right, that's enough fun and games for now. Now, we need to find out what caused that noise." The girls nod. "Then let's go!" The girls turn to the Everfree looming over them.
As they move their hoof forward, but a sight above the trees stop them in their tracks. A small little figure bursts from the tree-line, and stops roughly 40 feet in the air, hovering in place. The ponies are absolutely speechless as they see it move around some. Right before Twilight could say anything, the figure begins to move towards the ponies.
"Everypony, hide!" Twilight whispers. The ponies do just that and take cover. They all scatter into nearby bushes, and watch the figure quickly nearing them. In a moment's notice, the figure lands, though the Everfree casts a shadow on it, so the details are obscured. The figure appears to look around, first to the left, then to the right. The figure then lifts up one of his arms and scratches its head.
"I could've sworn I saw something down here..." The figure says, its voice very clearly male. "I guess it was just my mind playing tricks on my." Before he can leave though, Twilight accidentally steps on a twig. Her entire body freezes like ice as the figure stops, and turns around to where Twilight is located.
"Hello?" Twilight keeps her mouth shut and every limb frozen. "Is someone there?" The figure begins to move towards the brush, "Listen, I don't want to hurt you." The figure slowly closes in on Twilight, taking each step with severe caution. Twilight begins to flare her horn, about to take defensive action. The figure sees this, and steps back a bit, seeing the glow, "What the...?" The figure lifts one of his arms and grasps the hilt of a weapon sheathed on his back.
*BAM*
The figure is tackled by none other than the rainbow-maned pegasus, Rainbow Dash. The two roll out into the light, and the figure kicks her off, sending her a few feet away. The figure stands up and unsheathes his weapon. The two have a stare-down with each other as they wait for the other to make a move. With the being now in the light, the other three ponies leave their spot, and get a good look at what they were dealing with.
The being stands tall, at about 5 feet and 6 inches, and somewhat thin with bright, tan skin. He wears dark blue pants with an orange and blue belt, as well as sporting a black tank-top under a purple jacket. In his hand, he holds a black-hilted longsword, and its orange scabbard on the being's back. His hair is a bright-ish purple, and about medium in length. This being is Trunks, the Super Saiyan.
His facial expression changes from anger, to confusion, as he lays eyes upon what appears to be a bright blue pony with wings, and a rainbow colored mane. He can only stare in confusion at the pony. As Trunks looks at Rainbow Dash, Rainbow also has a look of disbelief on her face. Never before had she seen a bi-pedal creature such as this. Twilight herself is even baffled, at first thinking Trunks is just a hairless ape, but she quickly dumps the thought out of her head. Unlike the others, Pinkie could only say one thing about this moment...
"YOU OWE ME 3 BITS TWILIGHT!" Pinkie exclaims as she bounces into the air with glee.
