What would happen if we lived in peace with the changelings? I know it is a bit hard now, that they have attacked Canterlot, but what would happen if we could feed them love? What if we shared Equestria with them? How would ponies behave towards them? What would happen?

Dear Twilight Sparkle,
Such a shame they once used to live side by side with us. All those records have been burnt from their army however. This is an easy question, as I remember how it used to be. The Crystal Kingdom had the love-pouring festivals for the changelings originally.
The changelings used to have a very small population, but now it is massive. This means there are around 1 changeling per 3 ponies, which is not good. We could establish settlements for pure changelings that will let us have at least 2 ponies per 1 changeling - this makes feeding them easier.
If we fed them with our love, they would have no need to attack us, thus uniting two heavily militarised nations together. This could take us away from other threats that some holds might have to us. They used to love Equestria and probably still do, so sharing it with them won't disadvantage anypony.
Ponies may think that everypony is a changeling, as there is no way you can make sure they are the same - this is a problem. It may become to much for everypony causing a rebellion, which we can't have. They never used to mind it, but in today's society, being unique is an important thing.
So overall, they would have too much population per pony population, they could secure us nicely but the ponies would act against them.
