//------------------------------// // Chapter 8 // Story: The Birth of a New Friendship. // by ROFLBED0 //------------------------------// A week had passed since the birth of Aurora, and she was finally ready to be taken home. Orion pushed a stroller out the door of the hospital as Dazzle walked behind him. As they made their way out of the hospital, they were approached by a swarm of reporters and paparazzi. “Dazzle, why do you stand by your husband after knowledge of his sexual harassment surfaced?” one of them asked. “Uh, no comment,” Dazzle said, confused. “Orion, did you have sexual relations with Christina Clydesdale?” another reporter said. “Of course not.” Orion snapped back at him. The paparazzi suddenly began snapping photos at them. The relentless flashing of the cameras were too bright for Aurora’s eyes and she began to cry. “Stop it; you’re hurting her eyes!” Dazzle screamed. Orion put a blanket over her eyes and a bottle in her mouth to stop her crying. The family began to run home, leaving the paparazzi behind. After running several blocks, they finally arrived home. Orion opened the door and Dazzle pushed the foal in. Dazzle looked out the peephole and saw that several reporters were making their way up to their door. Dazzle quickly locked it and hung the curtains up. Orion fell back on the couch with his daughter lying on his belly. Dazzle looked at her husband and daughter lying on the couch. Aurora began to cutely snore as she slept. “I’m so glad we are finally home,” Dazzle said as she lay next to her husband. Orion leaned over and kissed her. “Do you think that we should put her to bed?” Dazzle said. Orion nodded and carefully picked her up and walked over to Aurora’s room. Orion set the little filly in her crib and covered her with a blanket. He shut the door and lay back down next to his wife. Dazzle and Orion nuzzled each other as they held one another. Suddenly, a knocking was heard at the door. Orion sighed as he stood up and walked over to the door. He opened the door, and in walked Twilight, carrying several large bags. “Oh, hi Twilight,” Orion said as he walked past him. “Hi, mom; hi, dad,” Twilight said as she set her bags down. “Can I see Aurora?” “Of course,” Dazzle said as she got off of the couch and walked over to the door of Aurora’s room. “Do you think I could foal sit Aurora tonight?” Twilight asked. Dazzle looked back at her, concerned. “I’m not sure you’re ready to look after her just yet.” Twilight was flabbergasted. “I assure you that I could do it; I’ve looked after plenty of foals.” “We’ll see,” Dazzle said. Twilight walked in and saw her little sister sleeping away in the crib. As Twilight took a step closer to her sister’s crib, the floor board creaked under her step. Aurora heard the creak and woke up, beginning to cry. Twilight and Dazzle covered their ears as the filly continued to wail. Twilight went over to her little sister and picked her up out of the crib. She began to rock the little filly. Aurora stopped crying and Twilight held her close again. “See, it’s that easy,” Twilight said, deeply impressed by her accomplishment. Aurora then soiled herself, and Twilight’s entire body cringed as the terrible smell passed by her nose. “My Celestia,” Twilight said, as she handed the filly to Dazzle. “Twilight, you have a lot to learn about foals,” she said as she set the filly on the changing table and changed her diaper. Twilight had recovered from the smell and was at her mom’s side. “Maybe you’re right about me waiting bit before babysitting her,” Twilight said embarrassed. “Well, you did better than Cadence, when she first smelled one of your diapers,” Dazzle said as she put another diaper on Aurora. “What happened?” Twilight asked, slightly embarrassed. “She threw up on the floor,” Dazzle said, laughing. Shining Armor had arrived at the jail. He walked down the corridors until he came to the visitor’s center. As he pushed his way into the room, he saw Cadence sitting there. Shining smiled as he finally saw his wife. “Shining!” she yelled as she ran up to him and tackled him to the ground. Shining pulled his wife into a kiss. “I’ve missed so much,” Shining said. “So have we,” Cadence said as she rubbed her slight enlarged belly. “Well, they say that you have can leave,” Shining said ecstatically. “Really?” Cadence joyfully screamed. “Yup,” Shining said, taking her hoof and escorting her toward the exit. Twilight sat on the couch, holding Aurora in her hooves. “Has the press given you any trouble?” Orion asked. “Not really, but lots have ponies have asked me if you had an affair with Christina Clydesdale.” Orion sighed and thought. “What are you thinking about?” Dazzle asked him. “I’m trying to figure out why Christina hates us so much,” Orion said. “Maybe she’s the Changeling Queen trying to get her revenge on our family,” Twilight said. “That’s a bit of a stretch, don’t you think?” Dazzle said. “Maybe she’s hiding something,” Orion said. “And for some reason it has something to do with us?” Twilight said. Dazzle began to think. “You wanna get her back?” “What do you suggest?” Orion asked. “She embarrassed us, so we’re going to embarrass her on her show,” Dazzle said. “All we have to figure out is how.” “I know how,” Cadence said. Everypony looked over and saw her and Shining standing in the doorway. “Cadence, you’re back,” Orion said. “Indeed I am,” Cadence said as she sat down on the couch. “Here is what we’re going to do…” Twilight teleported to the studio where the Christina Clydesdale Show was about to be filmed. Her horn flashed, and she was suddenly dressed in her black latex jumpsuit. As she entered, she carefully made her way through the hallways until she came up to Christina’s dressing room. She carefully entered the room and saw Christina’s snacks and cup of tea lying on the table. Twilight made her way over to the table and pulled out a bag of blue dust. She sprinkled it on her food and poured the rest of it into the tea. Twilight then heard some hoof steps outside the door. Twilight quickly hid underneath the table as Christina entered the room, quickly eating a few of the snacks and drinking the tea. “That’s right, stuff your face, you bitch,” Twilight thought to herself. She could hardly wait for Christina to embarrass herself on live T.V. Now all she had to do was wait for the poison joke to take effect.
