Chapter Three



Princess Duties


Meanwhile, in Equestria, Celestia and Luna were out on the balcony of the castle. The sisters stared out into the dusk landscape. “Sister, how can  we send Twilight Sparkle and Princess Cadance to Bonnibel’s realm. Princess Cadance is running the Crystal Empire.. And Twilight might possibly leave without her friends.”
Celestia sighed. “Hopefully, Twilight will understand it’s just her and Cadance’s job. As for Cadance, Shining Armor and you will run the empire for her absence.”
“What!?! I don’t know how to run a kingdom by myself! Nor a kingdom with a different pony species than the one’s we know! Why should Cadance go with Twilight anyway, sister?”
“Cadance has defeated Chrysalis once, and since you can’t run the kingdom by yourself, Shining Armor will help assist you. I trust Twilight and Cadance can defeat Chrysalis on their own. I also trust you and Shining Armor can run the empire. I’m sure it will be at the most a week.. Chrysalis is very deceitful..”
Princess Luna nodded and sighed a bit. “Am I to be the one to give Cadance the news?”
“It would be best, once you get there you can stay and get better acquainted with Shining Armor. It’d be best if you go now.” Celestia looked toward her sister. “Be careful, sister.”
“I will, sister.” Luna began to walk out till Celestia stopped her
“Wait- Why don’t you raise the moon before you go, I will re take the duty when you leave.” Celestia smiled at her sister. 
Luna smiled back and nodded. She left the balcony. A few moments later, the moon began to rise and Celestia lowed the sun. She looked down and saw her sister enter her chariot and fly off into the distance toward the North.

Luna finally arrived at the Crystal Empire. The royal guards driving the chariot landed in front of the castle. Since It was night, her presence to the crystal ponies is unknown. Luna entered the castle and made her way to the throne room. There, Cadance and Shining Armor sat in the crystal thrones looking out the window at the night. Cadance quickly noticed Luna and trashed her body a bit and sat up straight. “P-Princess Luna!- I mean, Aunt Luna! I mean- Hello!” Cadance began in stutter and mumbles due to the surprise visit of her aunt.
“Please, just call me Luna. I’d like to get more acquainted but that’s not what I am here for.  There is serious business we need to attend to.” Luna began.
Shining Armor quickly sat himself up, and bustled about in his seat and began like Cadance, “P-Princess Lun- I mean, Aunt Luna- I- Uh, HI!”
Luna raised a brow at the huge grinned prince seated nervously in his chair.
“Greetings Prince Shining Armor, please, as I have told Cadance, call me Luna; and as I also told her, there is serious business to attend to. Cadance, you must go see Celestia in Canterlot as soon as possible-” Luna was cut off by Cadance.
“Why? What has happened? Is everything okay- Oh of course it’s not if you are here! Who is going to watch the empire! I can’t go I have a kingdom to run-”
“SILENCE!” Princess Luna bellowed in the Canterlot Voice to quiet the worrying Cadance. “I will be watching over the empire in your absence alongside Shining Armor. When you get to Canterlot, Celestia will explain everything. Pack your things and get headed toward Canterlot. Shining Armor and I will let the civilians know tomorrow morning why you aren’t here and such.”
Cadance nodded, sweating a bit scared. She looked at Shining Armor. He was sweating and looked more worried than she did. She put a gentle hoof on his broad shoulder, giving him soft eyes which brought him into comfort. She looked back at her aunt and nodded. “I will get ready right away.”

“WHAT! I CAN’T BELIEVE IT! Oh what could be wrong! Oh no, DID I DO SOMETHING? Is someone threatening attack against us? Do I need to take another test? What if I fail? What if it’s I’m behind on my studies? What if She wants me to move back into Canterlot to continue my studies?” The purple unicorn worried as she ran back and forth through her library. Her purple and green dragon assistant stood carrying her bags full of quills, papers, and books. He rolled his eyes, by now he got used to her being this paranoid. “Twilight, I’m sure it’s nothing that bad! Just because Princess Celestia sent a urgent message for you to meet her at Canterlot as soon as possible could probably be something good..?”
“Good? GOOD? Are you kidding me, Spike! Of course it’s bad!” Twilight exclaimed into the baby dragon’s face and he fell over, spilling the contains in the bag. Twilight sighed and used her magic to telepathically put the contains back inside. She used her magic to strap on her bag to her back. “Well, I am off Spike, take good care of the library, I know you will. Owlicious will also help you. Bye Spike!” The purple unicorn waved to her baby dragon assistant and left the tree library and went off to the train station to Canterlot.

“What’s wrong Princess Celestia!?!? Did I do something? Do I need to do something? Is there another test? Are we under attack? Is the Crystal Empire okay?-” The paranoid unicorn was silenced by the princess’s raised hoof. 
Before she could speak, another voice rang out from behind her. “Twilight?”
“Cadance!!” Twilight exclaimed as the two ran into a big hug and proceeded to say in unison while performing the same movements, “Sunshine, sunshine, ladies bugs awake! Clap your hooves and do a little shake!”
Celestia gave a little warm smile and soon her face returned to serious, breaking the fit of giggles. “Now, as you may know, this isn’t a little much needed reunion. No, our world isn’t in danger, but another is..”
The two sister-in-law’s looked at the alicorn confused. They began to follow her as she walked slowly down the room full of stain glass windows “There are other realms, as you may know. As a very important ruler, Luna and I have communications with the other very important rulers, in case something like this were to ever happen.. There is another realm, or world, is in danger..” Celestia began. “I am, or used to be, very good friends with a ruler there.. But soon we had to go our separate ways as princesses.. And you see, it is our duty to make sure that the inhabitants of that world are safe, for the threat came from ours.”
Twilight looked worried at the princess while Cadance stayed stone face, but had the look of worry deep in her eyes. 
Twilight bit her lip and began, “Who is making the threat? Anyone we know..?”
Celestia nodded. “Queen Chrysalis.” Her words sliced through like a knife and the two younger ponies had look of shock in their eyes. Celestia continued, “She seems to have a urgent need of a love source for fuel for her and her subjects.. I have a feeling she may be after any of the princesses or queens in their world.. I also fear that she might find a greater source of evil to help her destroy our world and or theirs.. You see, their world has almost greater evil than ours.” Celestia turned to them, standing up right with her wings flared out. “I am making sure you two go to the world and stop Queen Chrysalis once again! I am sure you two can manage.”
Twilight rose her hoof and began to speak, “Princess, what is the name of this world?”
“The Land of Ooo.”
Twilight looked sort of shocked. “But- from all my studies of other dimensions, worlds, and realms there wasn’t anything about-”
Celestia silenced her with a raised hoof. “Of course there isn’t. There are other places than the ones in your books, Twilight.” Celestia’s horn glowed and a book appeared in thin air as the golden sparkles surrounded it and began to disappear as they fell to the floor.  “This book has all the places Luna and I are associated with, Twilight. I know you would want to study up on the place yourself. I would like you to come back tomorrow afternoon. Cadance, you can stay with me in the castle till then.”
Twilight and Cadance both nodded. Twilight put the book in her saddle bag and Cadance began to walk with Celestia to the hallway on the other side of the room. Twilight walked out of the castle, her mind full of shock and mystery. “The Land of Ooo….”
