Not so Friendly Prank

Tired of it all

Celestia and Luna sat in front of the mirror, staring at their blank heads. They could not believe that Discord thought that taking a joke this far would be funny. What made matters worse was that they had to be in the city square in an hour for the meeting.

"I can't believe this..." Celestia said, "...he promised that he would not do anything today before the town meeting."

Luna put her hoof up to the top of her head, rubbing it over the smooth surface, "I am not going out into town looking like this! Do you know what all of the ponies would say when they saw us?"

"We cannot postpone the meeting;  many nobles from around the land are showing up this. We cannot simply cancel it."

"Then what do you expect us to do?"

Looking to her closet, Celestia trotted over and pushed it open. Shuffling through the shelves, she pulled out two large hatstand formal hats and tossed one to her sister. Luna let the hat fall to the floor below her hooves as she glared at her sister, "You've got to be kidding me."

Celestia rolled her eyes at her sisters disaggreement with her disguise, "We have to hide our missing horns and manes. The citizens would panic if they saw those missing."

Luna grimaced, but bent down and picked up the hat and put it onto her head. Looking at her reflection, she realized how stupid she looked in fashionable attire, "Your brilliant idea has one little problem. How do you hide our blank backs?"

Celestia suddenly remembered that their wings were also missing. Looking back into her wardrobe, she saw several dresses hanging up. She frowned at them, since she hadn't worn any form of clothing in the last six hundred years. 'I sure hope I can fit inside of these still.'

------

The courtyard was wedged with ponies as they prepared to watch the royal sisters address the city on current objectives and events for the city. Above the crowd sat a tall platform for the two princesses to sit.

Below the platform stairs, a group of guards were standing at attention, awaiting to meet the princess and walk them up to their seats. Hearing the main doors to the palace open, they looked over to the opening, only to have their eyes widen from surprise to what they saw exit the castle interior.

Celestia came out first inside of a bright yellow dress which seemed so tight that it was going to tear at the seams with every step that she took. The bright pink hat she had on top of her head stuck out at least a foot out from her head in every direction, the brim of the hat nearly falling down from lack of strength from age inside of the closet.

Luna followed out next, the gray hat she wore hanging down over her face. Her  light violet-blue dress, while older design, at least fit quite well over her body, although the length of it caused her to stumble every few steps.

Walking up to the dumbfounded guards, Celestia just kept a calm expression on her face, "What is the matter? It is no crime for the princess to dress in formal attire for important meetings."

Later that evening, Luna's door to her room burst open from her strong forelegs, "That was horrible!" she screamed out as she threw her hat against the wall.

The town meeting had been probably the most humiliating experience she  ever had. So many ponies cast confusing looks at the outfit that she Had on. Some even snickered at her when she walked by. One time during the meeting, one of the guards accidentally bumped her hat while she was sitting, causing her to panic and drop to the ground to make sure no pony saw her head.

Yanking off her dress, she stomped over to her bed, "I hate that Discord did this to me! He-" in the corner of her eye, she saw a small blue cake set up on a tray next to her open window. Her eyes went wide when she saw her wings attached to the side of it, and topping it off was her horn with a small flame burning at the tip, "My horn!"

Running over to it, she quickly  blew out the fire, then felt relief seeing it was wax attached to the end that was burning. Then, she saw a note lying on the tray with a heart drawn on the outside. Picking it up, she opened it and began to read,

'Luna, perhaps I took my jokes too far today. I hope that sometime you can forgive me for the trouble that I caused you today. Your horn and wings are undamaged in any way, so you will be able to grow your mane back no problem.

Your friend, Discord'

Luna set the note down and looked at the cake. Seeing that he did feel bad for his actions made Luna feel better. Perhaps forgiving him wouldnt be too hard to-

SPLAT!

Luna screamed as the cake suddenly exploded all over her, covering her in sticky chunks of cake jelly and frosting. She sat there in shock as the pieces slowly slid down her fur, leaving particles of light blue cake crumbs in their wake. Then, from outside her window, a loud laugh could be heard from the air, "Ha ha ha, priceless!"

If Luna's face had been clear of fur, she would have looked as if she had turned as red as a tomato from the rush of blood. Looking outside, she saw the spirit cackling in the air. She leaned over the window ledge as she screamed at him, "I am sick of all of this Discord! You have no idea how terrible this day was because of you!"

Discord came close to the window with a large grin across his face, "Oh Lulu, I told you that your horn is fine, you can just make your hair grow back. But I do say, you really do look good without it, ha ha ha!" after that, he flew off into the sky and disappeared into the clouds.

Luna looked back to her room, seeing the horrible mess that it was now. In the center of the Mess laid her precious horn covered in frosting. Walking over to it, she picked it up with her hoof and brushed off what ever she could. Going over to the mirror, she lifted the horn with her hoof and placed it on her forehead. Immediately, she felt the horn reattach from the bonding of her magic. After several moments, she focused her magic into the tip, forcing the magic to concentrate to the top of her head. After another minute, her mane began to sprout out, back to the original length in which she kept it at.

Smiling, her magic then went around her wings, lifting them up and levitating them to their proper spots behind her shoulders. Placing them down, she magically rebounded them down to her body. Flexing her muscles, she grinned in happiness at having her precious wings back on her body.

Her happy reunion was cut short when the loud scream of her sister echoed through her door, followed by the faint sound of more laughing. Remembering her 'special gift' from Discord, Luna suspected the same thng happened to her sister. She felt anger once again shoot through her veins, "That Discord has had it easy on him for too long! He has no idea what a good prank feels like done on him!"

As soon as she said, an idea crept into Luna's mind, causing her grimace to turn into a sinister grin. Levitating a quill and a paper to her, she began to write down her thought as she snickered, "If Discord likes jokes, I'll show him a joke!"
