//------------------------------// // That Escalated Quickly // Story: Rainbow Almighty // by RedundantRedundancy //------------------------------// The rainbow colored mare lazily flew through the group. It had been another boring day of the same boring work. To Rainbow Dash, being the captain of the weather team had lost all its "glory". Dash wore a Weather Captain's vest and a Wonderbolts cap with Spitfire's signature on it. "Come on," she said lazily, "clear those clouds you lazy mutts." The workers did not mind her bored ranting and kept on clearing the clouds, and making the weather just right for those below them. The "earth dwellers", they called them. Kind of a racist name, no? *** The day ended like any other, Dash flopped down on the bed and tried to doze off, but was kept alive with thoughts of being something else entirely, something new, something "powerful" in her thinking. Just then, a letter arrived. It was always a minor annoyance for Dash, letters appearing out of nowhere, whether in a magical way or the old-fashioned way where it appears through the door. She hated reading those things. This letter appeared the magical way, a puff of smoke and the letter falls on her stomach. "Huh?" Dash opened the letter, expecting those irritating bills or a letter regarding donating something. It was, however, different. It was a letter regarding another job. It said that she could keep her old job while doing this one. It said: ''Tired of the same old job? Feeling underappreciated by your superiors? Is your name Rainbow Dash? Well do we have a job for you! Meet us at 2112 Starswirl Sreet, Canterlot! Do it now, or we'll just keep lettering you!'' Dash's eyes widened, this might be an opportunity to do something new, something maybe extraordinary. Without hesitating, she sped off, leaving a Rainbow Dash shaped cloud behind still holding the letter. CRASH! Dash's excitement had gotten the better of her, she had gone through the front door. Literally. A Dash shaped hole appeared, she did not even look back. All of Cloudsdale could see a Sonic Rainboom appear in the sky. Definitely too much excitement. *** Dash landed on the specified street. It didn't even look like a street at all. More like a really large alley. So much for honoring Starswirl the Bearded. A small building stood alone. A sign that hung vertically said "Omni Presents". It seemed promising enough for Dash as she was grinning like an idiot. Perhaps she did not notice the looks of the place she was in, or she did not believe that seeing is believing as she created another Dash shaped hole right through the door. WAY too much excitement. It was in that moment that she nearly regretted reading that letter. Rainbow stood alone in a large white room held by white pillars. A sign hung on the wall. All the directions seemed to say Room 7. "You're looking for Room 7." a voice said. Startled, Dash looked and saw a brown furred stallion mopping the floor. She swore she was alone the first time. The janitor continued on mopping. "Yeah, I figured." Dash said. She went straight for the elevators. "Out of order." the janitor said. Dash immediately went for the stairs. After climbing up to Room 7, still she found herself in yet another white room with the same white pillars. "This looks promising." she sighed. "Oh yes it does." a voice said. Seriously, Dash had never heard such a spiritually inspiring voice before. A hole on the roof produced sounds, inclining the rainbow pegasus to approach. A ladder connected the floor and the hole. "Hello?" Dash said. "Tell me if it's working." the voice said. Oddly enough, it sounded like the same stallion she had encountered earlier. An extremely bright light illuminated the spot Dash stood on, it came from the hole. "Yeah, it's working." Dash said, trying to cover her eyes. But the light was too bright to even possibly block it. A uniformed stallion came out of the light. Like a spirit descending from heaven. "Bright isn't it?" the stallion asked as the light went off when he clapped his hooves. "You said the elevator was not working." Dash said, dumbfounded. It was the same stallion she had encountered six floors earlier. "Yeah, but I'll get right to it." the stallion replied. "I'm out." Dash said. "But the boss will be right out." the stallion replied, taking off the uniform and revealing a white suit within. Dash's eyes widened. "Well this company sucks." she said. The stallion remained with his seemingly trademark smile. He moved to a desk that had seemingly and impossibly appeared. No way he could be a unicorn. DUH. Of course, Dash knew this might be her chance at another life. Truly desperate isn't she? "I see you've been trying to find a new life." the pony said. "Okay, who are you and how do you know what I want?" Dash asked. The stallion wasted no time at all. "Rainbow." he said in that spiritual voice of his, "I am God." "Huh?" The stallion stood up, and approached Dash. "I don't exist in your world," he said, "I exist in another, but I do drop by from time to time." This confused the pegasus even more. She, once again, had another one of her expressions. Like a cow. Dumb and slow. God approached Rainbow Dash and stared into her eyes with his intimidating ones. "I have a proposal for you." he said. "..." Dash remained silent as the stallion continued to talk. "Tell you what," God said, "since you want to try a new life, I can do that for you. I can grant you my powers." Powers. That escalated quickly. VERY quickly actually. Dash continued with her prayerful silence. "Just don't mess with free will." God said. "Yeah, sure," Dash said, weirded out, "whatever pal." And with that, she left through the stairs and through the front door's new hole. God would have to fix that after the elevator. Dash kept on walking, not minding the building at all. She stepped on a puddle that should have soaked her due to its depth, but she felt as if it were solid ground, the feeling of water was still there though. Dash stopped and her eyes widened so much they might as well have popped out of her head. This is when the magic happens. *Cue the cheesy inspirational music* **Author's Note** - First of all...these notes seem to be useless. - Secondly, if you though this was too short, talk to the power of God. - Third, this is a prologue, the other chapters will be longer. - Fifth- I mean Fourth, this is purely for fun and I don't expect anything big. - Sixth, goodbye for now :)
