Martin: The Endgame

by CrypticMetaphor

The Dawn

7 years later

The sun broke through the horizon as a new morning was ushered in. People on Earth were getting ready to go about their business as one individual awoke and put on a grey sweater with dark blue jeans and gold rimmed glasses. He looked in the mirror and ran a hand over his face at the layer of fuzz. The dark auburn hair on his head was long but managed as another shape stirred behind him.

Martin turned to look at a beautiful blonde haired woman who was dressing up in a house coat, “Sometimes I envy the fact that you ponies age slower than humans.”

AJ draped her arms in his shoulder, “Ye still look the same way the day I metcha.”

Martin plucked a white hair off his head, “Yeah right.”

AJ clutched Martins hand as two identical gold bands on their ring fingers touched, “You were shorter.”

Applejack playfully shoved him, “Says you.”

A knock was heard from down stairs as Applejack turned and left, “I’ll get it.”

Martin walked out and looked down into his living room to see a man with blond hair dressed in a business suit accompanied by a woman with long rainbow colored hair wearing a cyan leather jacket with matching track pants and white shoes.

Martin walked down the stairs as Rainbow Dash messed with her hair, “Hey Dash, any dyes working yet?”

Dash huffed in frustration as she revealed the red parts of her hair were cloud white, “No! It’s driving me crazy!”

Alan playfully rubbed her hair, “I think it looks sexy.”

Dash rolled her eyes, “You would.”

All of a sudden something rammed into Alan’s back legs, “Hey!”

Alan stepped aside to reveal a seven year old boy with black wild hair staring up with forest green eyes, “Dominic you almost knocked over your old man.”

Dominic was bouncing with excitement, “Sorry dad, I’m just so excited to go see Auntie Pinkie Pie.”

Alan looked at Dash, “He gets this from you.”

Dash bopped him on the head as Alan turned to the sound of Applejack clearing her throat. Stepping out from behind her mother was a six year old girl dressed in a white shirt and blue pants. She had natural dark red hair and dark blue eyes.

Martin knelt down to eye level, “Morning Mary.”

Mary smiled, “Morning daddy.”

Martin tilted his head, “You okay?”

Mary nodded as she threaded her fingers nervously, “I’m just nervous…”

Martin smiled, “Mariam Lupe Fairbridges, you have nothing to worry about. You are the daughter of two of the bravest beings in the world, you’ll do fine.”

Mary smiled, “okay.”

Applejack looked at Martin’s sweater, “You know you don’t have to wear that every time we go to the reunion.”

Martin nodded, “I know but Granny put so much time and effort into it it’s sort of a tradition now.”

Alan then quickly added, “Even though it itches like a mother-“

Dash smacked him, “Hush your mouth.”

Martin produced the key as he opened the bridge into a crowded field and smacked right into a post, “Ow.”
Dash and AJ reverted back to their pony forms upon stepping through. Both AJ and Rainbow were slightly taller and their manes were longer as well and the red in Rainbow’s mane and tail had returned much to her delight.

Mary stood there as the Apple family welcomed them upon their arrival.

Braeburn smiled down at Mary, “Well hiya Mary, boy you’re getting bigger every day! Ah reckon you’ll be as tall as yer pa in no time.”

Mary smiled as Dominic sped up to her in a blur, “she wishes.”

Mary narrowed her eyes as Dominic flicked her on the nose and sped off with Mary in hot pursuit. Martin and Alan looked after their children with happiness as they ran into the orchard to play.
