He jumped against a building and leapt back to the top. "I can't believe we haven't found anything..." Jay said to himself. "And just what are you looking for?" asked a man from behind Jay. He stood and turned around, finding a man dressed in black, sitting in the shadow of a chimney. "Well? What is it?" he asked again. "I-I'm searching for clues of where Discord is," Jay replied. "Hmm... Interesting, I'll admit." He stood "I'd help in your quest, but I've no idea where he is. Why are you looking for him?" "My father has returned and is going to defeat him." The mysterious man laughed. "And who is your father, young child?" "Fist off, I'm 15, and second my father is the legendary Dragon Rider, Taro. He is back to defeat the changeling that has corrupted our world." The man laughed again. "You're being deceived, kid. That man is not one to be trifled with." "Well what are you doing here, then." He took a deep breath. "That doesn't matter. You want to find out where Discord might be, check the well in Town Square. I hear there's someone down there who can help." Without another word, he leapt away. Jay stood for a moment, watching. He then turned around and ran after the well. When he arrived, he found it empty. Why isn't there water in here? he thought. "Hey, a human! Get him!" Shouted a pony. Jay turned around. Thirty ponies surrounded him. His only means of escape was the well. He landed at the bottom of the well. It wasn't even wet. Water hadn't been run through the well in years. "He's down the well!" "Forget him, he won't be able to get back up." Jay looked around. There was only one tunnel, lit with dim torches. He walked down the path to find an old unicorn, sitting over a book. Jay silently slid out his hidden blade. "I'm not a threat to you, young one," said the pony in a raspy voice. It had the cutie mark of a magnifying glass over its dim, blue fur. "Are you the one with all of the knowledge?" Jay asked, not retreating his blade. "I am, yes. Are you seeking answers?" "I am. The first question I have is how are you alive down here?" "The rats bring me food and there is a small reservoir near here. Your next question?" "Do you know the location of Discord?" The old pony laughed. "Yes, I do. The monster is hidden within the caves." "What caves?" "The ones beneath Canterlot. Everypony forgot about them again, now that's his hiding spot. He watches from afar, his chaos." "How do you know that?" "The rats. They bring me news from all over Equestria." "How can you understand them?" "I do because we do." Rats joined the old hag. She spoke words in the Ancient Language Jay only half-recognize and the rats ran off. "What did you tell them?" "Oh, nothing. You'll find out. I believe you have your information, do you not?" "Yes, I do. Thank you." Jay ran back to the entrance of the well. He jumped on one of the stones and grabbed it. There wasn't much to hold on to. He soon lost his grip and fell. He got up and grunted. A small chain shot down and the man in black he had met before was at the top, holding it. Jay shrugged and started to climb it. When he got to the top, he saw the chain was coming from a small device on his the bottom of his hand, at the edge of his wrist. Not to mention a few rats running back down the well. "Thanks," Jay said. "What is that?" The chain retracted into the device. "Another one of my inventions." "What do you mean another?" "Well, aside from, for example, that blade on your arm." "Where are all of the ponies?" "Oh, I took care of them." Jay looked at him. "How?" "...I took care of it." "Alright then... Thanks for the help." Jay said before starting to leave. "Oh, one last thing, have you seen a cyan pegasus with a rainbow mane?" "Yes, she was at the edge of town." "Thanks," Jay said leaving.
