//------------------------------// // Chapter One: How My Life Used To Be Normal // Story: Becoming Diamond Tiara // by Wishes //------------------------------// Hello. I'm sure you may or may not know me, since I surely am one of those stereotypical fabulous rich girls, someone you'd probably pull out from a basic teen novel. If you don't realize it, I'm the one that's popular, cute, and attracts all the cute boys. But not like I'd actually think about that, even though I am a boy magnet, because I'm only ten, the age that soon goes into a preteen. If you're one of those boys that is into me, wait a couple of years until I'm thirteen, and we'll talk. Okay, maybe that's a little too descriptive on the wrong point. My name is Elizabeth Shannon Rose Smith, but you can just call me Elizabeth or Eliza. I despise the nickname Lizzie since it is so casual and doesn't suit me all that well. May I remind you, I can simply smack you if you call me that in front of my face. Just a reminder. If you cannot tell, I am a female. Beloved daughter of Mr. Clyde Smith, rich, famous, and also kind. He's not really like me, really, since I'm more... well, more like my mother. And my mother is evil. But right now I'll get to the point. The story, I mean. Even though I'm not really good at telling stories like that. It all began a Saturday morning. My father woke me up. He never slept in, so it's go to bed early, wake up early for him and me. It would get a bit annoying every there and then, but I'd remind myself that it was because my father loved me, and wanted my education to be better than his. I'd forgive him...then soon enough I find myself in the same situation over and over again. That morning, the sun was bright and, well, sunny. I didn't know why he woke me up today...I didn't even have school. And then I realized: one of my most favorite shows, My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic was going to air a new episode today, and I certainly didn't want to miss live airings of the episodes. My beloved friend Sara Rose Ellen, who had her middle name named along with mine, would always come over this time of day and we'd watch it together. It would always be so fun...today being no exception. Sara, without hesitation, ran quickly into my room beside my soft pink waterbed, leaning over it as I blinked. Sara was no real star like me; more like a follower in my path, supporting me as I rose above all. But I admit, she was pretty, and probably would do anything I told her to do. Anyways, today was normal. There were a few more minutes until the actual airing as usual, and today I felt like just laying there on my bed. Sara, as always, had her platinum blond in a french braid. I personally had thought the platinum blond was very close to white, but more of a grayish-white (that reminded me of an old lady) but it was still cute. But that was away from the subject. Her eyes were a pale blue, like mine. Her skin would always compliment her eyes, so that would save the skin. Her complexion was an oddity since it was a little on the grayish side, but not that much, since she was known to be very healthy. I would know...we tell each other everything! "So, Elizabeth...want to wait here or just get a snack from downstairs and watch what's on on television before the airing?" she asked, adjusting her light blue glasses, which fell over her eyes. "It's okay, Sara," I waved my hand, and slowly pulled my body upwards in a sitting position. "I'd prefer to wait right here." She smiled awkwardly, and flattened her skirt. "Do you like my outfit today? It's made up of some of the most expensive threads in the stores," she explained, "Well, in a regular town like this, there's not many fancy stores that sell thread quite like the ones I like." I examined her clothing; she wore a plain gray jacket, covering a white shirt with puffy short sleeves and plain blue stripes. A red tie was in the middle, obviously a clip on, but a better than average clip on. Besides that, she had a plaid gray and dark gray skirt, lengthy white socks, and old fashioned shiny gray schoolgirl shoes with straps. "Yes, I'd agree. The town is a bit too casually suburban, and I had asked my dad a billion times if I could move to one of those fancier houses in popular cities. With you of course, Sara," I replied, "Away from here. Away from everything I dislike here.” “Like the pizza plaza whose workers keep calling you ‘sir’?” Sara asked, giggling. “Shut up, Sara,” I laughed, and nudged her. "Anyways," she smiled, looking at her silver watch on her left wrist. "It's almost time for the airing. Let's go!" I smiled, and sighed, pulling myself from the bed and into my fuzzy pale pink bunny slippers. In my opinion, there was never a time too old for bunny slippers, and even I, with high, fine tastes, liked them immensely. "Hey, Sara, why don't we just watch it on my new bedroom flat-screen?" I asked Sara, who was about to leave the room. "It's comfortable, and the bed can fit both of us, I'm sure." Sara smiled softly. "Alright, alright," she pulled herself back into the room, took off her shoes, and sat next to me on my bed. "So, where's the remote?" "In my hand," I replied, giggling, and turned on the television, already set on the channel of the Hub. It was finishing an episode that would always air before My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. Sara giggled, taking of her jacket, and poked me. And the two very, very best friends, Sara Rose Ellen and Elizabeth Shannon Rose Smith, watched our favorite episode, A Friend in Deed together, unaware of the danger that would soon expose to Elizabeth, and Elizabeth retelling the story in third person.
