//------------------------------// // Mare of the Moon // Story: The Nightmare at Rest // by Experimenteer //------------------------------// Mare of the Moon Diamond Moon that shone from the night, To sense a cooling sensation, a thousand delight. Cerulean gaze, its misty wonder, Shall compel the darkness to pause and ponder. In the pool in a dress of glass, That twinkle and sparkle and could hear such bass. Yet all awhile a guest appeared, that came to soon, For her name was common, Luna, the mare in the moon. Greed consume this mare, her slight, little brand, Shrouding her stars of an eternal grand. But her plan was short, her reign was cut, That send above that she once trust. Alone without a care, alone to grimly feel, That her dream was fake and all too real. Travel through memory her foal was seen, With sister sun and a little scene. Before and once, a third was in store, That had a cheery fine and certain galore. For the third was extravagant that was award, That played his music with humming accord. She cherished the moment and loved him so, But he chose another, a sister that he owe. This was the first, that became her foe, That taught her truth to fuel such ego. Into the end not all fair of romance, Where he shuttered and make an evil chants. This was the crown of her achievement, When she broke their bond of ancient. Now she know why she was cast so soon, And to the reason why she was, the mare of the moon. Upon the second, deepened through the next, That stored in books from forgotten text. That used of power to throw the king, That hailed the moon as they sing. From afar, into the distant east, Laid a trove and wonders of feast. The griffin of great meet a time to cope, But all such dreams were dash and hope. Moment of great of deepest shame, That she could not forget of lesser fame. For she started the trouble for even further, Into the harsh and brutal nature. Where war was roamed and less for answer, Into the great war of feather. Jealous reigned that she could not quell, That forsaken her role that of tell. Now she understood how she was cast so soon, That brought such pain, the mare of the moon. Upon the third and last, that stained her selfish will, For she opposed and reigned the nightly still. This has proved her finest and grueling test, To see herself outsmart the best. There her sight she gazed the moon, That suddenly shrouded with red of noon. For Nightmare Night was bound that all too fear, On her last and final frontier. Nightmare Moon stood from darken void, To possessed her heart and soiling toyed.
