Anonymous Feelings

Chapter 1

The sun shone through the boutique window, lighting up all the different materials the owner used for her designs. Assorted figurines sat there and watched as the darkness washed away. In the corner of the room, there was a bed, and upon that bed there was a white unicorn named Rarity. The owner of the shop, and the designer of multiple dresses. She was still fast asleep. The covers moved up, and down with her breathing, but like all good things, this sleep had to come to an end. The light poked it's way through Rarity's blue eyelids, and as if it was planned she sprung awake. She jumped up, and took a quick look at the clock.
“8:00 AM, phew” Rarity sighed. She had been working on a special dress for a client, and that said client said she was going to come to pick it up at 9:00 sharp. Quite honestly this was one of her greatest works yet. The only odd thing about the order was for some reason the client wrote a letter in, instead of actually coming into the store. This was troubling for Rarity, as she always loved meeting her clientele, before she made them the dress. She honestly didn't even know her name, all she really knew about her was her sizes.
She went through her normal morning routine; brushing her mane, brushing her teeth, and washing out her coat. This took around an hour, so she was just in time to hear a knocking on the door.
“Oh, dear Celestia, She's here!” Rarity shouted excitedly, she was so excited to meet the client she made the dress for. She ran towards the door to welcome her inside. She opened the door and... To her surprise she saw Spike smiling and waving.
“Hiya Rarity!” The small purple dragon spoke as he walked past Rarity.
“Uh... Hi Spike?” She greeted, obviously confused.
“Uh, Rarity, you OK?” Spike questioned. She obviously was not OK, and she made it very apparent. She was expecting more of a pony, and less of a dragon.
“Why, yes Spike, I'm just perfect. Anyways, what do you want?”
“Oh, I just need to pick up that dress you made for that anonymous client you had. She's really excited about getting it.” At this Rarity began feeling rather angry, but she kept it inside, she didn't want to upset Spike.
“Is she now, well you better go take it to her. She'd probably want it as fast as possible.” At this she quickly went and packed up the blue dress. Spike grabbed it, and paid 30 bits for it.
“Well, bye Rarity, I'll see you later!” At this he closed the door of the boutique, leaving Rarity alone inside. Rarity, felt the tears building inside her. She honestly didn't know why she was feeling so strongly about this. I mean it was just a simple pick up. Although she thought these things to herself, she couldn't convince herself that any of it was true. The tears found there way out, and she wept. This was the first time she ever cried over anything relating to an order pick up, and she really went all out for it. This lasted for a long while, around 45 minutes, until she finally built up enough strength to stop crying. “This doesn’t make any sense. How could anypony, not want to pick up their dress first hand...” Rarity thought to herself. She needed some advice, no she needed some HONEST advice. This made her instantly think of Applejack. If anypony could give her honest advice, it was her. She quickly grabbed her scarf, and started the walk over to AJ's. During the walk, it started raining. It seems the Pegasus' scheduled a rain-storm today, and didn't tell anyone, because everypony started running as fast as their four legs could carry them, trying to get out of the rain. This didn't exclude Rarity. She began running as fast as she could, so her mane wouldn't get too wet. She ran all the way to Sweet Apple Acres, where she saw Applejack laying inside the barn. She basically lived in the barn, the only thing that wasn't there was her bed. Rarity ran inside as fast as her 4 legs could carry her. Applejack was more then surprised to see the white unicorn come barging in.
Between deep breaths Rarity mumbled, “Good evening Applejack,”
“Oh, Evenin' Rarity!” The orange earth pony replied. “What can I do fer ya?” AJ asked with a twinkle in her eye. This question was as honest as anypony could be, that’s why Rarity went to AJ rather then any other pony.
“Oh, Applejack, it's so terrible!” Rarity whined in her normal whinny voice. “I made the beeeautiful dress, and the pony I made it for didn't even show up!”
“Well,” AJ started, “It could be that the pony didn't want to pick it up, it could've been that she was busy.” This made Rarity calmer, but the intensity in the room was still high up. “uh, look Rarity, I know this seems like a big deal right now, but in all honesty it seems to me that your...”
Rarity cut off Applejack with a flying leap finishing in a tight embrace. This startled Applejack, she flew back and the two landed snout to snout. Rarity quickly pulled back. “I'm so sorry I don't know what came over me. I just felt like I needed a hug that's all...” Rarity said as her cheeks turned bright red.
“Nah, it's fine.” Replied Applejack, obviously still shaken up from the encounter. This was rather awkward. Applejack began to blush.
Just then a loud boom shook the barn. A bright flash followed. This startled both the ponies, as they jumped 5 ft in the air. Rarity was the one that seemed most troubled by the thunder. “Uh, maybe, if I can, I'll stay the night.” It wasn't like Rarity to impose like that, but she could tell Applejack wouldn't care. She trotted over to a nearby pad of hay next to some apples. A long silence followed, nopony spoke a word for what seemed like hours. Finally, Applejack broke the silence. “So, how is Opal doing?” Trying to get a conversation going.
“Oh... She's doing just fine.” Rarity replied, honestly after that whole scene the air seemed kind of awkward. The rain continued falling, and thunder shook the ground. This was a real storm. Applejack looked over at Rarity yet again. She was laying there studying the apples in the barrel next to her. AJ decided something needed to happen to break the silence so she stood up. Then started trotting over to the white unicorn. This was going to be one of those moment she'd either regret, or fondly remember. Rarity looked up from the apple, and noticed Applejack standing next to her. Before she could say anything Applejack put one of her front hooves to her mouth. Applejack then quickly began a long kiss. This one lasted longer then the last one, as both ponies were in consent. Rarity was honestly shocked at this act, but didn't do anything to stop it. Applejack pulled away.
“Wha... What just happened?” Rarity stuttered out, obviously a little stunned by this act.
“Listen Rarity,” AJ began “I've come to admire ya, as some ponies would put it, I honestly think I'm falling in love with you.” This realization shocked even Applejack. She was still quite unsure of this.
“Oh Applejack. I honestly have been waiting for you to say that.” Rarity lept into the arms of the orange earth pony. They hugged for a long while. This was the best feeling either pony had ever had. This was love. Rarity opened her eyes still embraced in the arms of AJ, and noticed something peculiar in the corner of the room. A dress. Not just any dress though, Rarity knew this dress well. She had made it. Actually she had finished it this day. It was... the dress from the anonymous order...
