Chapter 4: Equestrian Downfall
Rainbow Dash started her tale. "After you came back from defeating the orcs, you didn't have Jarden or Chalmen with you. Only Thatch. You said Jarden died in the fight and Chalmen wanted to stay with him. After everything had blown over, we had gone back to our normal lives. Every time someone had a problem, you reluctantly dealt with it. You became more and more cruel, and even Thatch agreed that something had to be done."
FLASHBACK TIME!
Taro, you're mind is corrupted, Thatch said.
"No it isn't, I'm still the same!" Taro retorted.
"Taro, something is wrong with you. You need to see someone about it," Rainbow Dash reasoned. "Celestia already tried dealing with you and you refused banishment!"
"Really Rainbow Dash? You're with him on this? I thought you loved me!"
"I want the best for you, Taro. Please, see someone."
"No, I don't have to and you can't make me!" Taro stormed off and Rainbow Dash followed.
Taro stood at the edge of a cliff. "What are you doing, Taro?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Since you won't listen to me, I'll get someone who will!" Taro put his hands toward the edge of the cliff. They started to glow green. A small tornado formed at the base of the cliff, getting bigger and bigger, stronger and stronger.
"Taro, what are you doing?" Rainbow Dash asked with concern.
"I'm bringing him back!" Taro said in an insane voice.
"Who?"
Taro turned to her, his hair being whipped around in the wind. "Discord!"
"Taro, no! Why would you do that?"
"No one else listens to what I say! I shall rule side by side with Discord!" An orc joined Taro by his side and he channeled his power through it.
"Taro, don't do this!" Rainbow Dash grabbed Taro's shoulder. He immediately turned around and slapped her. She looked up at him with tears in her eyes and immediately ran off to her house.
As soon as she entered, she went to Jay. "Stay away from Taro, Jay. He's insane. Our world is about to become corrupted and we won't be able to do anything."
"Why?" Jay asked, concerned.
"He's joining Discord, the evil ruler of chaos."
"After a while, the humans blamed the ponies for your corruption, and, in turn, the ponies blamed the humans for bringing you here. Eventually, they separated. Some have learned to accept hate. The ones who didn't are the ones who are mistreated."
"So now there are distinct human and Equestrian towns?"
"Pretty much."
"So what happened to Jay?"
"Lyzia was with him and Rissa the last I saw him. I don't know what happened to him. He never gave up on you. He always thought you could defeat the evil in your mind."
Taro smiled slightly. Then he gasped. "Where's the purple dragon egg?"
"I think Twilight still has it, why?"
"That's our only hope. That dragon is still pure. If we can find the Rider that dragon belongs to, we have a small chance to save everyone and everypony."
"How does that work?"
"The dragon hasn't been influenced yet. It still knows what its mission is: to protect, serve, and try to keep peace within all races and nations. Hopefully the Rider will be influenced by this."
"I guess it's worth a shot."
