//------------------------------// // Preparation // Story: Daring Dash // by Slingshot619 //------------------------------// Special thanks to ISKV for the idea. This is just a short fun little story that I will be writing until I can think up of something else to write. The cyan blue mare known as Rainbow Dash woke up, she rubbed her large, saucer-panned eyes. She felt the sunshine wash over her and cover her sleek fit body in rays of warm golden sunlight. She stretched and yawned for a while before hopping off her bed and onto her four hooves. She let out one last yawn before setting out to the bathroom. She entered the shower and turned the knob, ushering forth jets of hot steamy water. Rainbow encased her hooves in soap and scrubbed herself down. She finished her shower, stepped out and looked into the mirror, her gorgeous rainbow mane was wet and flat, her sleek cyan blue body shone in the sunlight, and her tender magenta eyes looked incredibly seductive. Rainbow Dash picked up a towel and furiously rubbed her wet rainbow mane, giving her that rugged hairstyle she always wore. She stared in the mirror, content with her good looks and trotted out the bathroom. She went to the living room where a cupcake sat on a plate. Just waiting to be devoured. Rainbow sat herself down and took a bite out of the delicious little delicacy. She had the feeling that today was supposed to be special. She wracked her brain trying to remember, it was probably not that important if she didn't even bother to remember it. She lodged the muffin in her mouth and went to the door. A pink envelope was on the floor, it smelled of freshly baked goods. A sure fire sign that it came from Pinkie Pie. Rainbow picked it up with one hoof, the other hoof was used to dislodge the cake. She read the letter out loud while chewing a mouthful of cupcakes, crumbs and bits sprayed out as she spoke. How lady like. The letter said: Dear Rainbow Dash: It's your birthday! I guess you probably already know that, since it is your birthday after all. Anyways I'm throwing a birthday party for you down at Sugarcube Corner. That's it I guess, so Okey Dokey Lokey! Your friend Pinkie Pie Rainbow facehoof'd herself for being so forgetful. It was her birthday, how anypony could forget their own birthday even she didn't know. She quickly downed the muffin, Rainbow Dash kicked the doors open and leaped into the sky. She felt the wind blowing past her ears as she fell towards the ground. Then, at the last second, she pulled up and glided her way to Sugarcube Corner. Rainbow knew for a fact that Pinkie had already decorated and gathered everypony. Whether they liked it or not. Rainbow Dash landed in front of Sugarcube Corner. She pushed open the door and was met by five ecstatic mares. Rainbow stared at the cheerful scenery in awe before returning to her normal brash, bold self again. "Thanks guys!" Rainbow made her way to the snack table where she found a mountain of frosting covered muffins. She picked the most beautiful specimen and eyed it carefully. "Me and Applejack baked those. We used the same recipe as the MMM cake that we brought to the desert festival." Rainbow licked her lips and stuffed the cupcake in her mouth. She chewed and swallowed while her mind processed the extravagant explosive fruity taste. "Say, it taste a bit different." Rainbow saw that Pinkie was trying to hold in her laughter. Applejack accompanied her, the two mares had their faces blushing furiously as they tried to contain their laughter. Rainbow had already swallowed the cupcake, and watching Pinkie and AJ like that was really making her paranoid. "What did you do?" All of a sudden, the world seemed to spin. Rainbow felt lightheaded as she stumbled around. She felt really dizzy. She tried to grab hold of something to balance herself, but she ended up falling flat on the floor. Her vision blurred as she slowly passed out. The five ponies watched as their cyan blue friend remained motionless, Applejack came forth and gave a light kick to the mid-section, no response. A huge grin formed on their faces as they confirmed that Rainbow Dash was out cold. "Okay girls! Get to work!" Twilight said Applejack lifted Rainbow on her back and carried her to Rarity's carousel. It wasn't easy, but after almost dropping Rainbow into the lake and a few bumps here and there, they made it. Applejack set Rainbow down and watched as Rarity pulled out a tray of vials, hair dye. There were three shades of gray another was sandy brown. Rarity set it down and pulled out a tan and pith helmet, and vest from a chest nearby. Giving an unconscious pegasus a bath is not easy. Rarity had to dye her mane, tail and wings together with her cyan blue fur. Rarity had to make sure the dye got everywhere. Even the more, um sensitive parts couldn't be left out. When she was done, Rarity was soaking wet. But at least her job was done. Next was clothing. Aw snap. The vest was surprisingly easy to put on. Now, all they needed to do now was to put the hat on, build a temple with booby traps and treasure, find a monkey with a hand on the end of his tail. But just in case, they had to prepare the casket, dig up the grave and gather her family. The temple had been built ages ago. With the help of some magic and muscle, it was up in no time. And by no time I mean 5 years. As for the monkey, Twilight had transformed a regular monkey into the mutant it is now. Much to the horror of Fluttershy. Now all they needed to do now was bandage up Rainbow's wing, drag her to the woods, (That are filled with snakes, tigers and various other animals by the way) patiently wait for her to wake up and start her adventures as Daring Do and pray that Rainbow doesn't kill herself. Wow, Rainbow's screwed isn't she?
