Shattered Pieces and a Shattered Dragon

Fun in Cloudsdale "part one"

As the rays of the sun started to shrine through our favourite library, our equally favourite reptile started to stir. The first thing Spike felt when he had awoken was the hooves of his greatest and first friend, Twilight. He first felt curious but the memories of last night suddenly flooded his mind. He remembered coming home late and Twilight chastising him, he then told her what had happened and she softened up. She did what a “sister” would do and comforted him. It wasn’t uncommon for them to sleep with each other after all.

Flashback
Twilight was pacing around worried for her beloved dragon. But she was quickly snapped out of her concentration when she heard a door slam shut. As she twisted her head to get a better angle at the door she noticed Spike. He was in a bit of a topsy-turvy mode. He was elated and sad at the same time. She quickly got up.

“Where have you been?! I was worried sick you silly drake”

“To be honest Twilight I really don’t know.”

They then both sat on the couch and discussed what happened. He recounted his tale all the way from Rarity cheating on him to Pinkie inviting him for a day out in Cloudsdale. Twilight made a mental note to thank Pinkie for her kind deed unbeknown of Pinkie’s true feelings.

“You poor poor dragon.”

Twilight quickly reached her hooves around and gave Spike a loving hug. Spike beamed the most adorable smile ever which instantaneously melted her heart.

“Thanks Twilight you really know how to make me feel better.”

“Of course we have been living together for many years.”

“Yeah that reminds me.”

Spike grabbed a picture album out of nowhere and for the remainder of the night they looked through its old pages and relived the happy memories of their life together. After getting tired they tucked into Twilight’s bed like in the past.

End of Flashback

Spike stirred a bit more.

“I guess I should get up to make breakfast now.”

Just before Spike got out of bed he felt a hoof wrap around him.
“Don’t go yet Spike, keep me warm.”

Spike just gave a small smile and laid back down.

“What time are you going out with Pinkie?”

“In about two hours.”

Twilight just crunched up closer to Spike to feel the heat he radiated off his body. Spike enjoyed Twilight’s soft coat and lavender smell. They just stayed in that position for half an hour.

“Well Twi I now have to get ready.”
“Ok Spike I love you.”

“I love you two.”

Just before Spike left the room he gave his friend a smile and Twilight Smiled back. As he left though, her face dropped reminiscent of Pinkie Pie last night. She always knew that Spike thought her “I love you” was a friendly one.

“I love you more than Rarity ever could.”

Spike had spent at least an hour getting ready. After shining his scales he scampered of to the roof. He had made a small garden there last year for him and Twilight. He picked some beautiful flowers and arranged them in a simple but cheerful bouquet. He rushed down the stairs and exited out the front door.

“I’ll see you later Twi!”

Twilight just huffed a bit and went back inside.

Spike zoomed through the street at a speed that even Rainbow Dash would be jealous. He arrived at the bakery in minutes. He gave a brisk tap and the door swung open. There in her all her glory was Pinkie. She had her hair flow more and a bit straighter than her regular unattended hair style. She was wearing a white dress which complemented a set of blue jewels on her chest. She had a white flower placed in her mane. To say spike was stunned was an understatement.

“Wow Pinkie you look, you look amazing.”

Pinkie just thanked Celestia that she was pink and hid her blush a bit better.

“Wow thank you Spike, I decided that today I would get dressed well because we are going to Cloudsdale and we want to look social like in Canterlot. But do ponies in Cloudsdale act like ponies from Canterlot? Or what if they act like both or maybe they are like ponies from southern equestrian?”

Pinkie could have blabbered all day because Spike was drooling at her appearance. He quickly snapped out of it and bestowed the bouquet to Pinkie.

“Oh Spike these are quite pretty and would make for astounding party decorations!”

Pinkie then quickly kissed Spike on the cheek stunning the adolescent dragon.

“Thanks a lot Spike. You ready to go? ”

“Yep.”

Spike gently held onto Pinkie’s hoof and they walked claw in hoof to the balloon at the back of the bakery. They both climbed into it and Spike breathed a bit of fire into the burner at the top to get it started.

“Is this your surprise? Was not that shocking.”

“No Spike. This is the surprise.”

Pinkie grabbed two small vials of purple liquid and just before Spike could protest Pinkie had made him chug the first one down. She then chugged the second one. They were both covered in a small purple aura but it quickly disappeared.

“Pinkie what in Celestia’s name did you do?!”

“Oh we just ingested a potion that gives us the ability to walk on clouds. No biggie.”

“I hope so Pinkie.”

“Hey why don’t we play a game to pass the time my little dragon?”

“Sure why not?”

Pinkie brought out a monopoly board and they soon got engrossed in the game. As they arrived at Cloudsdale Pinkie had beat Spike four out of four times. Spike was glad they were finally in the floating city as he couldn’t stand another game.

“So how long will we be here?”

“About three days.”

“Say what?!”

Pinkie pie just chuckled and explained to Spike that they were going to stay at a friend’s house for three days. Spike just sighed and decided to resign himself to his fate.

“Don’t worry Spike it’s not far from here so why don’t we get moving?”

“Sure, why not?”

Pinkie left the balloon at the “airport” terminal in the city and they soon trotted (more likely floated) to a pretty pink house. On the front door was a note addressed to Pinkie. It read that the owner was not there but Pinkie was allowed inside whenever she wanted. They both entered then tried to find their rooms. By the time they had gotten comfy it was already quite dark outside.

“Why don’t we sleep Pinkie so we can go out tomorrow nice and refreshed?”

“Okey dokey lokey Spikey. Let us find the room shall we?”

When they found the room they entered and where rather embarrassed by the lone bed in there. Spike gulped then spoke up.

“You can have the bed Pinkie. I can sleep on the floor.”

“No let’s share.”

On the outside Pinkie had a stoic expression but on the inside she was praying to the princesses to make Spike agree. Spike was hesitant but agreed as he gained a small blush. They slowly lay down and faced opposite ends.

“Good night Spike.”

“Good night Pinkie.

Just as Spike was about to sleep he felt Pinkie shivering as Cloudsdale being high up was always quite cold. Spike never liked it when his friends are suffering so he turned around and wrapped his arm around Pinkie to share his body warmth. Pinkie’s face was as red as blood. In less than a minute Spike was asleep. Pinkie just whispered.

“I love you.”

Authors note= their trip in Cloudsdale will probably be three to four chapters long.
