(5 years after the U.S. discovery of the way to Equestria, the Russians tried and succeeded at their own way to Equestria. They started their invasion to the other world, building several barracks and taking over cities. Sgt. Soren Williams arrives to help by making an alliance and negotiations with both Princess Luna and Celestia, in the end forming many military groups; including The Harmony and Equestrian Army League (HEAL), the Equestrian Air Force Unit (EAFU or AFU), and the Special Operations Group 71 (SpecO 71). Their goal: train the colts and mares into soldiers to protect the Equestrian ponies from the invaders.) CPL Lanai “Sunrise” Hess was walking around Huraki Base, near Canterlot, heading towards the shooting grounds. The blue-colored Pegasus was going to ‘Pull the Trigger 101’ to be in a demonstration on how to use a gun for new recruits. And he was the demonstrator. Good luck learning anything from me, he thought to himself as he approached the range. He really couldn’t believe that he was here, in this base, training to be a soldier. He didn’t even want to be here. The humans bringing war – whatever they called it – just terrible. And the changes – like giving a new name to each colt or mare that came in. Lannai Hess? Even though he somewhat liked the name itself, he didn’t like the idea. But the fate of Equestria rested on these soldiers, and he was gonna be one of those protecting Equestria and its citizens. In front of the range was a table with grenades, some magazines and a M4A1 assault rifle, along with two sergeants: Sgt. Soren Williams and Sgt. Jake Andrews, both of which were humans. In front of the table, watching, were a group of ponies; earths, unicorns, and pegasi. Hess recognized three particular mares in the group, who he knew as fillies, along with Fluttershy and Rarity. “Private Hess!” Sgt. Williams called out. “Get over here!” He continued to talk to the recruits while Williams started talking: “Welcome to ‘Pull the Trigger 101’,” Sgt. Williams stated. “Private Hess here is gonna do a quick weapons demonstration to show you locals how it’s done. No offence, but I see a lot of you firing from the hip and spraying bullets all over the range. You don’t end up hitting a damn thing and it makes you look like an ass!” Andrews gave a look to Hess. “Private Hess, show ‘em what I’m talking about.” Hess stood up on his hind legs and started firing at the gun from his hip, wasting bullets all over. When he finishes the magazine, Hess turns around and gives the crowd a psycho face, which aroused a few smiles and chuckles. Andrew looks back at the group of mares and colts. “See what I mean?” Andrews explains to the recruits. “He sprayed bullets all over the damn place! You’ve got to pick your targets by aiming deliberately down your sights from a stable stance. Private Hess, show our friends here how the Marines take down the target. Crouch first, then aim down your sights at the target.” Hess follows Andrews’s instructions, aiming down his sights and firing at the targets accurately. The rest of the crowd watches in awe. “That's all there is to it,” Williams explained confidently. “You want your targets to go down? You gotta aim down your sights. Now let’s just say your target is behind light cover. Remember that certain weapons can penetrate and hit your target. The private here will demonstrate.” A piece of plywood appears out of nowhere from the ground, surprising most of the recruits. Hess, unfazed, fires at the target behind the plywood, hitting it with precision. “Last but not least,” Andrews takes over, “you need to know how to toss a frag grenade. Toss the grenade down the range to take out several targets at once.” As multiple targets appeared on the range, Hess took several grenades and threw them, bringing down all the targets in the range. “Good, note that frags tend to roll on sloped surfaces,” Williams pointed out. “So think twice before tossing one up hill. Alright, Thanks for the help Private Hess. Now go to the Royal Castle; Celestia wishes to see you.” Hess walks away leaving the pony recruits to practice their shooting. During the walk, all he could do was think about what the Princess could want from him. He was anxious, nervous, excited, and scared – all at the same time. Finally at the castle, he stopped, took a deep breath, and opened the doors. Hess went inside the castle to see Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, sitting on their respective thrones, surrounded by soldiers, humans and ponies alike. Hess recognizes Spc. Judy “Pinkie Pie” Roseau and MG. Keshet “Rainbow Dash” Hila among the ponies. Hess noticed John MacTavish, John Price and David Griggs among the humans. Griggs spots Hess and motions him to come over. “Hey, Hess, get over here,” Griggs called. “I was just reviewing Luna about her basic English again. Seems she’s getting good,” Griggs said, holding a small note pad. “Man, this seems so easy now!” Luna said, a natural smile on her face. She then turned to Price and Hess. “Я запутанной вы, юноша?” she said smoothly, which effectively bewildered both of them. “Griggs,” Hess said, facing him. “You taught her Russian?” Griggs nodded. Hess put a hoof on his temple, clueless why he would do something like that. “Uh, usually I would say, ‘I think you went too far, Griggs. What were you thinking!’,” Price said, amazed and impressed. “But since you decided to teach her Russian, instead of Chinese or Korean,” -the humans in the room gave a small chuckle- “I congratulate you. In fact, go back and continue teaching her Russian.” Price turned away, the decision final. Griggs and Luna looked at each other happily, and rushed to the library before anyone could say a word. Price returned his attention to Hess, who was waiting for orders. “Okay... Hess, lets talk about what’s important, shall we?” Price gives a look to Celestia. “Yes,” Celestia stated, “Price just got a radio feed from a person named Sgt. Foley. He and his unit were protecting the town of Stalliongrad when it got ambushed by Russian rebels. The rebels took over the town, but he and the rest of his team are still fighting; they have plenty of tanks, HUMVEEs, and ammunition. I want you to get at least a team out there for backup.” “Ok,” Hess interrupted, unsure. “But what are they for?” Hess pointed to Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash, a.k.a Roseau and Hila. “Pinkie Pie, I mean Roseau,” Celestia stammered, still not used to the name system. “She will be one of the officers on your team. As for Dash – sorry, Hila – she is getting air support ready to not only drop you off at your destination, but also to attack, like a bombing. The planes will be on standby until the go is given by you.” “F-35 Lightning II’s and MI-X1 helicopters,” Dash boasted. “Only some of the best there is.” “Hess,” MacTavish asked, “do you have any idea who you want to have on your team? It needs to be quick; we don’t have all day. Everybody’s on standby.” Hess gave a small nod. “I know who I want.” He then turned to Price. “Find for me Meia, Goteka, Ramirez, Fiesal, and McHassen. Tell them to get prepared and meet me at Sesame AFU Base” He turned around, a smug smile on his face. “We got a city to re-capture.”
