The new me

Chapter 9: The new me

I slowly began to regain consciousness, but immediately regretted it. My head began to throb with immense pain.

'Oh my god, it feels like an enraged raccoon is in my skull'

I sat there for a moment, rubbing my temples to try and ease the pain. But nothing worked, I gave up and just lay there. I could see it through my eyelids it was bright. Then I heard a voice.

"O-Oh... your awake, here, let me close the windows." The light dimmed.

I groaned with pain as I slowly started to open my eyes. I noticed I was at Flutter shy's. I looked around and immediately began to feel dizziness.

"S-Shy... where is the bathroom..."

"O-Oh... why would yo-...oh.... upstairs first door to your right."

I shot up the stairs and into the bathroom. I heaved over the toilet and stayed there for a few minutes, emptying my stomach. I began to feel a slight patting on my back, I turned slightly to see a sympathetic Flutter shy there, patting her hoof on my back.

"S-Sorry Shy..."

She looked at me and smiled. "It's alright CJ, You were very drunk last night. You couldn't even make it home. You passed out near my house so I decided to bring you here."

I wiped my mouth and began rinsing. When I was done I went to go freshen my breath and take a shower at my house. I turned to Flutter shy and gave her a hug.

"Thanks Shy... I just wish I could remember everything that happened."

"O-Oh... if you want to know, I could tell you, I don't drink."

"Hehe... Alright, come with me to my house, when I take a shower and stuff you can tell me."

She nodded, slightly snickering at me as she stared at my face, I decided to ignore it. We walked along a path, me almost tripping every few steps, until we finally made it to my house. I put the key in and opened the door. I motioned for her to sit on a nearby couch. I made my way up the stairs towards the bathroom.

'Jeez... this hangover sucks more than the last'

I continued to the bathroom. When I reached it I closed the door behind me, and began to strip down. I stopped when I saw something on the corner of my eye. I looked into the mirror and gasped in surprise. In the mirror, I could see my reflection with the words 'DJ D1sASt3R....' marked on my head. I sat there for a moment before my mood went from anger to enjoyment.

'DJ D1sASt3R... you know... that's a cool name, but why did they write it on MY head!.'

I got into the shower then and began to rinse it off.

I exit the bathroom feeling great. The hangover was beginning to fade, my face looked normal again, and my breath was great again. I put on the same pair of clothes from last night that were now outside the bathroom.... there was a note sitting on them.

I washed them for you... I didn't know you hummed in the shower....

As I finished reading that my face turned deep red and I heard a low giggle from downstairs.

'That sneaky little...'

I put on the clothes and walked downstairs, with a still visible blush on my face. I looked up to Flutter shy who had her 'Innocent' look on.

"You know, sometimes you can be just a bad a liar as AJ." I said with a small smirk.

Flutter shy just laughed a bit and got up.

"So... what would you like to know about last night?"

I turned to her and thought for a moment.

"Oh, I got one, who is DJ D1sASt3R?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

Flutter shy looked at me and smiled. "Oh no one... just a new DJ that Vinyl thought was awesome."

"Oh? A new DJ? That's cool."

She giggled a little bit but I just ignored it.

"C'mon Shy, lets go to sugarcube corner. I am in the mood for a cupcake."

She nodded and followed me towards ponyville. On the way thinking of more questions.

"So... anything crazy happen last night?"

She thought about it for a moment and then answered. "Well, other than you beating berry punch in a drinking contest, creating a new form of music you called dubstep, and making RD have a fangasim when she saw Vinyl... nnope."

That was the most funny imitation of Big Mac I have ever seen. But then I started thinking. New form of music? I brought dubstep into this world... I wonder how it will turn out. When we reached ponyville I thought of another question.

"Shy, I am pretty sure YOU were more excited than RD about meeting Vinyl, I didn't take you as quite the music lover."

She blushed brightly and looked back to me. "W-Well... why can't I love music? Just because I'm shy doesn't mean I can't love things!"

I looked back at her with a warm smile. "Shy, what I meant was you never showed any sign of liking that kind of music. And just so you know, that's what I love about you."

She looked at me in curiosity.

So I continued. "You come off as a shy pony that seems afraid of almost everything. But on the inside you are a pony who loves things that most wouldn't even think of you liking, If you ask me, thats kinda cool."

She smiled and kept walking.

"And a bit sexy..."

At that moment she looked up at me with a VERY deep blush on her face. I couldn't do anything but laugh.

As we walked I noticed all of the ponies staring at me. But this time it was different. They were not stares of curiosity or fear. but stares of amazement and other emotions. It was beginning to weird me out more than the old stares. Until finally I made it to sugarcube corner. I opened the door and the few ponies that were at the line up or sitting at the tables talking went silent and stared at me in awe. Flutter shy couldn't help but laugh.

'Ok... whats going on? Did I do something really dumb last night? No... Shy would have told me.'

I walked up to the counter and rang the bell, within a second a pink blur formed in front of me and dissipated into a pink pony jumping up and down.

"Oh! Hi CJ! Last night was AWESOME! We need to do that again some time! All the music you had! And all the other things like the dancing the drinking, DJ D1sASt3R, an-" I cut off her onslaught of words with my hand to her mouth.

"Pinkie, enough, I just wanted to order a cupc-" Before I was finished a cupcake appeared in front of my face.

"I will never get used to your speed..." She gave a small laugh as I reached into my pocket.

She reached to my hand and stopped me. Now I was very confused.

She leaned over and whispered in my ear. "You don't have to pay, you already brought a lot of business in, and this is my thanks."

I lifted an eyebrow and turned around, to see a HUGE lineup of ponies behind me.

'Uh... ok.. that's it... I'm figuring out whats going on now.'

As I walked forward with Flutter shy behind me, I could hear the ponies ordering the same thing as me. I walked out of the bakery and over to the library. When I got there I knocked a few times. Spike answered and pulled me in, slamming the door. I sighed and went back to the door and opened it, letting a shaken up Flutter shy in. I shut the door and turned to see Twilight rolling her eyes and spike standing there holding.... a quill and paper? He was pushing it towards me.

'Ok... now I am confused.'

I looked at Twilight. "Uh... Twi, can you tell me why everypony is acting so strange around me?"

Flutter shy was losing it beside me, she found something hysterical. But what. Twilight looked at me and gave a small smile.

"I'm not sure, how about you tell me mister D1sASt3R?"

I opened my mouth to speak but shut it as the realization truck hit me square in the face.

"Whoa whoa whoa... your telling me... I am DJ D1sASt3R?"

She nodded, causing me to begin to tremble a bit.

"But... how?"

"Well, with all the music you were playing last night, Vinyl made you an official DJ" She pointed to my jacket.

On the right side of my chest lay a patch that had an image of headphones. Along with the name DJ D1sASt3R under it.

'How the hell did I miss that?'

I looked back at her, and I could tell she was not done.

"So, she gave you that patch, and you both figured out a good name. Which reminds me, she wants to see you today, after your work."

'My work... my wo- SHIIIIIIIIIT'

At that moment I turned to Flutter shy and gave her a quick hug.

"I'mreallybusygottagobye!"

And with that I ran out of the library. A few moments later I ran back in to see a shocked Flutter shy, a laughing Twilight, and a sad Spike. I bolted over to spike and scribbled down a few words.

I didn't have time to think of anything else. I gave it to the happy looking dragon and bolted out of the library. I reached the post within 5 minutes. When I got there I burst through the doors heaving heavy breaths. I looked up to see a smiling Ditzy.

"Sorry I'm...Late....I...Had to..." She cut me off by lifting her hoof.

"It's fine Mr. D1sASt3R, I heard about what happened last night, I figured you would be late." She said laughing quietly.

I looked at her and returned the smile with a slight nod.

After work I made my way to the library getting more stares and the occasional ask for an autograph. It was slightly annoying. I made it to the library and walked in, to see Twilight there with a cup of tea along with Flutter shy talking about something. They went quiet when they saw me.

"Hey everypony, I just wanted to ask you Twi, where am I supposed to meet Vinyl?"

She looked up and smiled. "She said to meet her at the park. Oh, and to wear something else to not draw attention."

Before I end up being tackled by a overly happy Spike, I decided to say goodbye and leave.

I made my way to the park wearing different clothes I had Rarity make me. They were close to the design of my DJ clothes, but these ones were black. But it didn't matter what clothes I wore, It is kind of obvious as to who I am. How many other DJ humans do you see walking around in Equestria.

I got to the park and sat down next to Vinyl looking at me a bit mad. So I looked back at her with a curious look.

"What?"

"Your clothes dude! You look the same!"

I just stared at her. "Oh! Sorry, I guess I have to wear clothes so they can't tell which human here is the DJ."

She thought about that for a moment. "Oh...yeah.....forgot about that."

She looked back at me when out of her thought trance. "So anyway, the reason I called you here. I wanted to ask you something."

I looked at her with a raised eyebrow.

"I am going to be retiring soon, and I don't want all of my equipment to go to waste...."

'Oh I see where this is going.'

"So, I wanted to know, If you would take it and become the new main DJ?"

At that moment she gave me eyes worse than Flutter shy's.

"Graagrahfgra... fine.... I'll do it."

She nearly exploded in happiness. She told me to follow her. So I did, When we got to my house I saw a bunch of boxes sitting there. I looked at the size of them and realized what they were.

"Vinyl, I thought you said when you retire."

She let out a small laugh, and handed me a pair of goggles. They were black with purple lenses that were sized for a human head.

"I did... and I am."

I stood there for a moment before my mind thought of something.

"Vinyl, I don't know where I would put all this stuff. I-"

She cut me off when she pointed to the house. On the left Side I could see walls being put up. To the left of my bedroom. A new room, that is fairly large.

"Wow... Vinyl, I can't thank you enough."

She looked at me and chuckled. "No, It's me that has to thank you, I didn't want to throw all this stuff away, It means to much. And now knowing It is going to be taken care of, makes me happy."

I looked at her and smiled. "I am just wondering how everyone will react."

She chuckled a bit more. "Your on your own for that, C-ya around dude." She ended that with raising her hoof.

We fist/hoof bumped and she walked away. I walked over to the house to a worker.

"Any guess how long this will take?"

He looked at me and thought for a moment. "If you want us to bring the stuff in, an hour."

'God damn that's fast'

"That's perfect, I am going to find something to do in the meantime, thanks."

He was caught a bit off guard with the thanks, before nodding and continuing his work. I began walking towards the library, with the goggles in hand.

'This is going to be fucking PRICELESS!'
