Diamond's Pokémon Adventure

34. On The Road to Victory Road

The girls and Eevee were all set to head for Victory Road on the way to the Pokémon League. They were impressed that Gary Oak volunteered to watch over the Viridian City gym as Giovanni decided to return to bring a Pokémon trainer. As the girls were traveling, they encountered Zephyr Breeze who wanted to see how Diamond is faring.
"Let's fly, Pidgeot!" Zephyr called out.
Pidgeot came out, ready for action. Zephyr was expecting Diamond to call for Pikachu. But, she has a surprise. "Let's go, Magnemite!"
When Magnemite came out, Zephyr was shocked. "A Magnemite?"
"Who were you expecting?" Diamond replied. "Pikachu?"
"Still won't stop me. Pidgeot, use Alr Slash!"
Pidgeot flapped it's wings to strike at Magnemite. But, being a steel type, Magnemite is not affected that much. Diamond strikes back. "Magnemite, use Discharge!"
The Magnet Pokémon fired a shot of electricity at Pidgeot. The majestic bird soon fainted. As Zephyr recalled Pidgeot, he sees something wild. "Looks like your Magnemite is starting to evolve."
Zephyr is right as Magnemite grew into a Pokémon that looks like three Magnemites fused together. Silver was astounded. "I don't believe it. It evolved into a Magneton."
Diamond used her Pokédex to study this Pokémon. Magneton, the Magnet Pokémon and the evolved form of Magnemite. The three Magnemites that make us this Pokémon has added electric power. But, not added intelligence.
Zephyr gains confidence. "Electric power is not effective against this. Come out, Vileplume!"
Vileplume pops out and stands firm.
"So, your Gloom evolved, huh?" Diamond said.
"You got it, DT." Zephyr replied. "Thank goodness for evolution stones."
After recalling Magneton, Diamond made her next choice. "Go, Snowflake!"
Zephyr's eyes widened when he saw her choice. "Your Alolan Ninetales?"
"That's right. I got to get all of my Pokémon ready for the Pokémon League."
"Vileplume, shower that ghostly fox with Petal Dance!"
As Vileplume fired it's pink petals, Diamond struck back and struck hard. "Snowflake, use Aurora Beam."
The Alolan Ninetales fired it's rainbow beam at the petals and Vileplume. Diamond followed it up. "Now, let's turn up the chill with Ice Beam!"
The power of the Ice Beam was strong enough to knock out Vileplume.
"Vileplume, return!" Zephyr said. He then brought out a surprise. "Your turn, Marowak!"
When a Marowak appeared, every was surprised. Babs looked at it with interest. "Is this the same Cubone you comforted at Lavender Town?"
"That's right, Babs. Here's how much trust we have for each other. Marowak, use Bonemarang!"
Marowak threw it's bone like a boomerang. It whizzed in the air until it struck Snowflake. It was hit very hard. Concerned, Diamond recalled her Alolan friend. She then made another move. "Here's a surprise for you, Zephyr. Let's go, Omastar!"
Zephyr was impressed to see Omastar. But, he soon got fierce. "Your regenerated prehistoric Pokémon looks cool. But, I'll still win. Marowak, use Bone Club!"
Marowak rushed in with it's bone. Diamond, however, is ready. "Omastar, use Hydro Pump!"
Omastar fired a strong stream of water to knock out Marowak. Zephyr Breeze recalled Marowak and unleashed his last choice. "Time to shine, Raichu!"
When Diamond saw Raichu come out, she got concerned. She recalled Omastar and made her next choice. "Let's go, Golem!"
As soon as Golem came out, Zephyr made his move. "Here's my answer to Rock types. Raichu, use Iron Tail!"
Raichu's tail soon became metal as it struck Golem. Diamond is determined to help her Pokémon. "I have faith in you, Golem. Use Rollout!"
Golem soon tucked into a round boulder and rolled fast. Before Zephyr can fight back, Golem struck Raichu so fast, it fainted. Admitting defeat, he recalled his friend.
"You're not fooling around with your training, DT." Zephyr said. "You're ready for anything."
"That I am." Diamond replied. "I hope I meet you at the Indigo Plateau."
"You definitely will. Later."
Zephyr Breeze left to head for the Indigo Plateau to face the Pokémon League. As they approached one of the gates, one of the guards stopped her.
"You can only enter through here if you have the Boulder Badge." The guard said.
Diamond presented the badge case to the guard. He saw all eight badges, and let the girls go. As they go through the various gates, Diamond thought about the gym leaders she faced. She first thought of Brock of Pewter City. She thought about about how she faced his Geodude and Onix.
She then thought of how cool she looked in a wetsuit as she faced Misty and her Psyduck and Starmie. She can remember showing respect to Lt. Surge as her Pokémon faced Voltorb, Magnemite, and Raichu. Next, she thought about how Erika and her friends loved both versions of Ninetales as Diamond faced Tangela, Weepinbell, and Vileplume.
The stakes were raised higher as Diamond thought of her battle with Koga and his team of Weezing, Muk, Golbat, and Venomoth. Diamond still feels angry about how Sabrina's Mr. Mime mocked her as she faced Mr. Mime, Slowbro, Jynx, and Alakazam. The girls still feel the heat from Blaine and his Fire Pokémon. Ninetales, Rapidash, Magmar, and Arcanine.
Finally, Diamond thought of the respect given to her by Giovanni, the leader of Team Rocket. Especially her gym battle. Fighting Dugtrio, Nidoqueen, Nidoking, and Rhydon wasn't easy. But, Diamond did come through. Soon, the girls had their Pokémon healed by a friendly nurse near the entrance to Victory Road.
"Well, friends." Diamond said. "This is it. The last road to the Pokémon League."
"After all we've been through." Babs added. "It's hard to believe that this trip is almost over."
"I agree." Silver happily replied. "Best part of it is, we faced it together."
The girls all nodded and started at the entrance.
"Get ready, Elite Four." Diamond proudly announced. "Here we come."
Diamond, Silver, Babs, and Eevee entered the cave, heading to Indigo Plateau, and the Pokémon League. Meanwhile, Jet Set and Upper Crust are driving down to the Indigo Plateau with Holly Prema riding with them. Holly is determined to support Diamond now that Prince Blueblood is no longer influencing her.
