//------------------------------// // Fixing it Up // Story: Equestria Girls It's Showtime--Handy Manny: Spring in the Air // by Big Imagination E //------------------------------// When everyone got near the stage the saw all the damage that was done by the storm. Some wood boards were broken and some were rotted. The stairs were broken, the curtains were ripped and the paint job was coming off. Yep definitely not the stage anyone wants to sing on for the moment. "Yeah this stage is in really bad shape." Manny said. "Yeah. And we really want to sing tonight. But with the stage all broken I don't think we can." Sunset replied. "Not to worry Sunset. I'm sure we can fix it up no problem. Stretch can you measure the wood to see how much we need to replace the broken and rotted ones?" Manny asked. "Coming right up Manny." Stretch replied. So using his tape measuring skills Stretch used his mouth to get the exact measurements he needed so he can tell Manny how much wood he needs to fix the stage. "Let's see. The short ones are like 3/4 x 1-1/2″ and the long ones are 3/4 x 7-1/4″. So we'll need four of the small ones and at least six of the long ones exactly." Stretch replied. "Thanks Stretch. Squeeze can you pull out the old nails?" Manny asked. "I sure can Manny." Squeeze replied. "And Dusty? I'm gonna need you to cut the exact length Stretch mentioned. Can you do that?" Manny asked again. "No problem Manny. I can do that." Dusty said. So first thing that happened was that Squeeze did her part by pulling out all the old nails from the rotted wood and broken boards. Then Dusty did her part by cutting the lengths of each piece that Manny needs to replace the old ones. "How is it that your tools are able to do their part on helping you rebuild the stage? They have got to be hit with Equestrian magic." Twilight said. "Manny already told you Twilight. We were able to talk and sing ever since the day he first got us. Besides I think you'll get used to it once we finish the stage." Stretch reminded her. "Um Stretch was it?" Sunset asked as he nodded. "Look I definitely understand that there's no magic coming from you but Twilight has dealt with magic beings during her time here. So I understand that you are not infected with it. So give Twilight some time okay?" "Sure. After all it will get used to it." Stretch admitted. Stretch hopped off Sunset's hand and went to the others and helped them get the right sizes of wood for them to place in the holes where the old ones were. Manny placed the nails in them and Pat hammered them down so they'll stay. Then Felipe and Turner both screwed in some screws to hold the electronic parts on the bottom of the stage. The sun started to set and night came in and the stage was starting to look better but there was still work that needed to be done. But Ms Portillo arrived with the cupcakes and Coach Johnson came with the track team ready for the special night race later. Then Mayor Rosa came to check on Manny. "How's everything going Manny?" Mayor Rosa asked. "It's going well. But we still have some adjustments to make." Manny answered. "Si. It is looking better. But were not sure if it's a hundred percent safe yet." Felipe added. "Oh well I'm glad to hear that your making progress. But the Rainbooms are really wanting to perform tonight and they are starting to worry." Mayor Rosa said. She pointed out to the Rainbooms who are starting to get a little upset that they might not be able to play tonight. "Oh. Well were doing everything we can. We got the basics down. And now we gotta finish that." Manny said. The tools all agreed and they prepared to finish up the stage. "Come on tools we got a job to do." Manny said as a song began playing. As they were all singing each of the tools were doing their parts of fixing the stage. Felipe and Turner were putting in the screws, Rusty and Squeeze were putting new bolts in, Dusty was cutting the length of the wood that Manny needs, Stretch was measuring it to see if it was the right size and Pat was hammering the nails in. Then even decided to replace the torn curtains with new ones and give it a nice paint job. After they finished singing they see that the stage was now all done and ready for the band to set up.
