Location: Flutter Valley
Heart Throb, a pink pegasus mare with dark pink hair, and Lickety-Split, a lavender pink earth pony with light pink hair, arrived in Flutter Valley, home of the Flutter Ponies. Flutter Valley was a massive, beautiful, lush field of healthy green grass. The source of the valley's health came from the magical powers of the Sunstone.
"Where's Spike?" asked Heart Throb. "He said to meet him here, right?"
"That's what he said." said Lickety-Split. "Flutter Valley."
A yellow Flutter Pony with light pink hair flew into view and landed in front of them. It was Rosedust, the queen of the Flutter Ponies.
"Heart Throb." she said. "Lickety-Split. Welcome. What brings you three here?"
"Hey, Rosedu... Three?" asked Lickety-Split. "There's two of us."
"Oh, Twilight's here, too." said Rosedust.
"Twilight?"
Rosedust pointed to a lavender unicorn mare with white hair, and a purple stripe that ran through her mane, lying in the grass nearby.
"Twilight?" asked Heart Throb, walking over to her.
The mare looked up at her. "Hey, Heart Throb."
"Did Spike ask you to come?"
Twilight nodded and stood up. "Any idea why?"
"Not really. He only said it was urgent."
"Must've been urgent." said Lickety-Split. "He didn't even tell us that."
Just then a little purple dragon came running down the path and stopped near the group, trying to catch his breath.
"Glad... you could make it." he said.
"What's this all about, Spike?" asked Heart Throb.
"The witches... from the Volcano Of Gloom..." He finally manages to catch his breath. "They're gonna try to summon the Smooze again."
"What?!" yelled the four ponies.
"The Smooze?" asked Rosedust. "That monster almost destroyed everything the last time."
"Can't we just go to Megan so we can summon the Rainbow Of Light?" asked Lickety-Split.
"The Smooze just ate it up last time." said Heart Throb.
"Then what about the Flutter Ponies?" asked Twilight. "Didn't they beat the Smooze last time?"
"Good idea, Twilight." said Rosedust. "I'll gather them together as soon as possible."
"How long do you we have, Spike?" asked Twilight.
"From what I heard, they should be ready in a week."
"Seven days?" asked Heart Throb. "That's plenty of time."
Just then a large rift burst open in the sky, sending out a loud booming noise and a shockwave that knocked the ponies over.
"What's that?!" yelled Rosedust.
Spike dug his claws into the ground. "It's too strong!"
Rosedust flapped her wings at high speed as did Heart Throb.
"My wings aren't strong enough!" yelled the pegasus.
Rosedust flew over to her and got behind her. She then pressed herself against her flank and pushed her away from the rift.
Twilight and Lickety-Split latched onto a nearby rock. "Help!" she yelled. "I can't hold on any longer!"
"Twilight!" yelled Rosedust. "Lickety-Split!"
"Help them!" yelled Heart Throb. "I have wings! They don't!"
Rosedust nodded and flew over to the rock, holding out her front hooves.
"Grab on!"
Lickety-Split grabbed her left foreleg. Twilight reached out to grab Rosedust's other foreleg but lost her grip on the rock.
"Help!" she screamed as she was sucked towards the rift.
"Twilight!" yelled Heart Throb, struggling against the rift. Spike lost his grip and was sucked towards the rift as well. "Spike!"
The unicorn and the dragon were both sucked into the rift. The hole in the sky then closed up.
"Twilight! Spike!"
"What're we gonna do?" asked Lickety-Split.
"We're gonna round up the other Flutter Ponies and prepare." said Rosedust. "Then we'll be able to help you get your friends back."

Location: Ponyland
Bon Bon, a yellow mare with purple hair, trotted into the ice cream shop where she and Starlight, a light pink mare with yellow hair, worked. She headed behind the counter and got her apron on. Starlight walked in and joined her.
"Ready to work, Bon Bon?" she asked.
"You bet." said Bon Bon. "Today's gonna be a great day."
Patches, a sandy colored mare with light pink hair, and Clover, a lavender mare with pink hair, trotted in and sat down at the counter.
"What would you girls like today?" asked Bon Bon.
"You know what I want." said Patches.
"Your usual?"
Patches nodded and Bon Bon turned around to face the counter. She then began making a 5 Scoop Chocolate Fudge Surprise.
"Anything for you?" asked Starlight.
Clover shook her head. "No, thanks. I'm good."
Bon Bon turned back around and set the 5 Scoop Chocolate Fudge Surprise in front of Patches.
"Yay!" screamed the mare, grabbing the ice cream.
"Now, careful Patches." said Bon Bon. "Last time you got an ice cream headache."
"It's worth the pain." said Patches, reaching for her spoon.
Just then Sweetheart came running in. She was a white mare with light pink hair.
"Girls!" she yelled, sliding to a stop. "Oh. Am I interrupting anything?"
"No." said Bon Bon.
Patches mumbled something with a mouthful of ice cream that sounded like "nope".
"Oh. Alright. A storm's coming!"
"A storm?" asked Starlight. "We've dealt with those before."
"Not one of this size. We need to evacuate."
"Evacuate?" asked Clover. "I don't think we really need t--"
"Come on, girls! We only have seven days to find a new home or we're all gonna be wiped away!"
"Are you absolutely sure it's a big one?" asked Starlight.
"Yeah." said Bon Bon. "Who told you this?"
"That weather pony. You know her?"
"I forgot her name, but yeah." said Bon Bon. "She said this?"
Sweetheart nodded. The other four mares looked at each other worriedly.
"She's never bee wrong before." said Clover.
Bon Bon let out a sigh and walked out to the front of the counter.
"I'll let the mayor know. We're gonna need those seven days." she said. trotting outside.
Once Bon Bon stepped outside, and walked for a few feet, a large booming noise filled the town as a large rift burst open in the sky. All the ponies outside dove into the nearest building. Bon Bon tried to run back to the ice cream shop but was sucked into the air. She flew over the radio station and grabbed its antenna.
"Help!" she screamed.
Starlight ran to the door and grabbed onto its frame.
"Bon Bon!" she yelled.
Clover ran up behind her. "What're we gonna do?"
"There's nothing we can do, Clover." said Starlight.
Patches looked around behind the counter, her eyes resting on a line of rope. She stared at it, swallowing her ice cream.
"Hey, girls?" she asked.
Clover and Starlight looked over at her.
""Yeah?" asked Clover.
"What about that rope behind the counter?"
Starlight ran over and looked over the counter. "Rope! What's that doing there?"
"Who cares?" asked Clover. "Just grab it. I have an idea."
"HELP!!!" yelled Bon Bon. "I'm slipping!!!"
Clover ran the rope over to the door and tied it to the doorknob.
"What do you have in mind?" asked Starlight. "She's a ways away. That rope's not gonna reach."
"I know." said Clover. "I'm gonna use the buildings close by as cover."
"You're so smart." said Sweetheart.
"No. Bright Eyes is the smart one."
"I still think you're smart."
"Well, thank you, Sweetheart." said Clover. She looked across the street. "HEY!!!" No answer. "HELLO!!!!"
The door opened, revealing a purple mare. "YEAH?!"
"I'M GONNA TOSS YOU THIS ROPE!!! I WANT YOU TO GRAB IT!!!"
"NOT SURE WHY BUT ALL RIGHT!!!"
Clover held the rope and tied a large knot at the end. She then twirled it and threw it towards the mare. She caught it and held on tightly.
"NOW WHAT?!"
"TIE IT TO THE DOOR!!!" yelled Clover.
The mare did so as Clover turned to her friends. "Wish me luck."
"Good luck." said Patches.
Clover turned back to the door and grabbed onto the rope, using it as an anchor as she left the building. She was yanked off her feet but kept holding onto the rope.
"CAREFUL, CLOVER!!!" yelled Sweetheart.
The other mare watched as Clover shimmied along the rope as she made her way to the building across the street. Once there, she reached out a hoof. The mare took it and pulled her in.
"Thanks." said Clover.
"No problem."
Bon Bon tightened her grip when she felt herself slipping. She watched as Clover repeated the process and made her way to the radio station.
"HURRY UP!!!"
Starlight was pulled into the radio station by the mare who ran the building.
"Thanks."
"I hope you know what you're doing." said the operator.
"So do I." said Clover, tying the rope around her waist. "Now show me the roof."
"CLOVER!!!" yelled Bon Bon. "MOVE FASTER!!!"
The hatch on the roof opened and Clover climbed out.
"MAKE SURE YOU TIED IT TIGHTLY!!!" she yelled down at the operator.
"I DID!!!"
Clover grabbed onto the radio antenna and began climbing up.
"HOLD ON!!!" yelled Clover. "I'M COMING!!!"
She neared Bon Bon and reached out a hoof. The yellow mare let go with one hoof to reach out but lost her grip. She was sucked away from Clover and towards the rift.
"I'LL FIND YOU, BON BON!!!" yelled Clover. "I PROMISE!!!"
Bon Bon disappeared into the rift, which closed shortly after. Clover clung onto the antenna and stared at where the rift used to be.
"I promise."

Location: Unicornia
"Rarity!" Cheerilee called out.
She was a purple unicorn with light pink hair. There was no answer. She let out a groan and left the room.
"Rarity!" she called again.
There was a rustle underneath a nearby table. Cheerilee trotted over to it and kicked the leg gently.
"Come on out, Rarity." she said.
A little pink Unicorn with a multicolored mane (not rainbow) stepped out form underneath the furniture.
"How'd you find me?" she asked with a giggle.
"You're not a very good hider." said Cheerilee. "You make too much noise."
"Aww... Now you hide." said Rarity, turning away.
"We have more important things to do than play games, Rarity." The little unicorn turned around. "Remember what happened last time?"
"I... almost..."
"Ruined everything?" asked Cheerilee. "Almost caused the complete and utter extinction of rainbows."
"Sheesh. No need to be so mean about it."
Cheerilee sighed. "Just, come on. We have some work to do."
"I don't like work." said Rarity, following Cheerilee.
"I know." said Cheerilee, stopping in the center of the room with the rainbow stained-glass ceiling window. "Which is why we need to practice." She took the Rainbow Wand off its stand and handed it to Rarity. "Here. Do you remember the movements?"
"I think so?" said Rarity.
"Well, we don't want you disappearing again." said Cheerilee.
"Why?" asked Rarity. "That was fun." she said, giggling.
"Fun? You almost made th--"
"The rainbows extinct." said Rarity. "I know. Don't have to rub it in."
"As long as you remember that... Now, do you remember what to do?"
"It's starting to come back." said the little Rainbow Princess as she twirled the wand.
Just then there was a loud boom that knocked the ponies over, causing Rarity to drop the wand. The ceiling started to crack as pieces flew up into the sky.
"What's going on?!?!" yelled Cheerilee.
Rarity let out a scream as she was pulled off the ground and pinned against the ceiling, facing downwards.
"Cheerilee!" she yelled. "Help me!"
The ceiling cracked more as more pieces flew into the sky.
"Hold on, Rarity!"
"To what?!"
"I'm gonna go get help!"
Just then the ceiling burst as it, and Rarity, was sucked into a large rift in the sky.
"RARITY!!!" yelled Cheerilee.

Location: Ponyville
Cheerille and her little sister, Scootaloo, were sitting on a bench in the park.
"Well, another year, another Winter Wishes Festival." said Cheerilee.
"I hope our ornament wins." said Scootaloo. "I wanna put the star on the tree this time."
"Maybe you will... if you don't lose it again."
"It was an accident." said Scootaloo. "I only wanted to get a better look at it."
"Well you know what curiosity did to the cat, right?" asked Cheerilee with a giggle.
"No... What?" asked Scootaloo.
Cheerilee paused. "Never mind."
Scootaloo hopped off the bench. "Well, I'm gonna go hang out with Sweetie Belle." she said, trotting off. "She's fun."
"I'm fun." said Cheerilee.
Scootaloo stopped and looked over her shoulder. "Yeah-- Okay." she muttered as she continued walking.
Scootaloo saw Sweetie Belle's coming into view when there was a loud boom. She looked up and saw a large crack in the sky.
"What the heck is that?!" she yelled.
She heard a scream and looked over at Sweetie's house. The little filly was sucked through the window and disappeared into the rift.
"SWEETIE BELLE!!!" yelled Scootaloo.
Cheerilee came running down the path. "Scootaloo! What's going on?!"
"I don't know, sis!"
Scootaloo was suddenly yanked off the ground.
"SIS! HELP ME!"
Cheerilee jumped into a nearby tree and climbed. She grabbed onto a branch which snapped off, causing her to fall down on her back.
"SCOOTALOO!!!"

Location: Canterlot
Twilight sparkle burst into the main hall of Canterlot Castle. Celestia was standing in front of the vault that contained the Elements Of Harmony.
"Princess!" yelled Twilight, running up to her. "I came as soon as I could!"
"Thank you, Twilight Sparkle." said Celestia as the unicorn stopped next to her. "I'm sorry to have to summon the help of you and your friends again after all you've done for us already, but... there's a new threat."
"Another threat?" asked Twilight. "Who, or what, is it this time?"
"That's the problem." said Celestia. "We don't know."
"What?"
"Whatever this threat is has some sort of special ability I've never seen before." said the princess. "The only fact we have is that this threat is almost here."
"Almost?" echoed a dark male voice, followed by a laugh.
The two mares spun around. The hall was empty.
"Who's there?!" Celestia yelled. "Show yourself!"
"As you wish, Princess." said the voice.
A black crack appeared in the air a few feet from the mares. It then expanded as a black alicorn colt with a red mane and tail stepped out. The crack closed up.
"A pleasure to meet you, Celestia." said the colt.
"Who are you?" asked the Princess.
"My name is Rift." said the colt. "I'm sure you've felt some... disturbances."
"What have you done?" asked Celestia.
"Done?" asked Rift. "Well, a lot."
"Tell me!"
"Well, if you really wanna know..."
There was a loud booming noise from outside. Twilight and Celestia looked at each other and then ran through the castle and out the front doors. A large rift had opened in the sky. A small rift appeared behind Celestia as Rift stepped out. The rift closed as Rift walked passed Celestia.
"Behold... Oblivion."
"What is that?" asked Twilight.
Rift stopped a few feet in front of the two mares and turned around, flapping his wings as he hovered off the ground.
"A rift. Think of it as a portal."
"Where does it lead?"
"Here and there." said Rift, hovering in a lying down position. "Different dimensions and whatnot."
"What are you planning?" asked Celestia.
Rift grinned as there was another loud boom. Twilight heard a noise behind her and turned to see her friends running up to them.
"Girls!" she yelled happily.
"What in the hey is going on?" asked Applejack as they finally reached Twilight.
"Ah, the legendary Elements Of Harmony." said Rift.
"Legendary, huh?" asked Rainbow Dash. "Sweet."
She forced her smile to fade when she saw Applejack giving her a look.
"Our guests should be arriving shortly." said Rift.
"Guests?" asked Twilight.
Just then eight figures emerged from the rift, falling towards the group of ponies. Screams could be heard
"Rainbow! Fluttershy!" said Twilight.
"On it." said Rainbow Dash as she and Fluttershy took off.
Dash snatched one of the ponies and brought her back. She then took off to catch another one. Fluttershy brought one back and returned to fetch another.
"They're not gonna catch them all." said Twilight.
Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy brought two more back as the other three neared the ground. Twilight used her magic to catch one and Celestia used her magic to catch the other two. They were then brought over and set down near the others.
"Anything seem familiar about these ponies?" asked Rarity.
Rift clapped slowly. "Bravo. For a second there I didn't think you were gonna make it."
The new group of ponies groaned and stumbled to their hooves.
"What happened?" asked Scootaloo.
"Who are you?" asked Twilight, trotting over to her.
"Me?" she asked. "I'm Scootaloo."
"Scootaloo!" yelled G3.5 Sweetie Belle as she ran over to Scoots.
Twilight went wide-eyed. "S-Scootaloo?"
She looked at the others. One was blue with rainbow hair. another was all pink. There was also a little purple dragon.
"What's going on?!" yelled Twilight.
Rift laughed. "Oh, this is two rich."
Scootaloo looked over at him. "Who are you?"
Rift flew over and landed in the group.
"Name's Rift. You must be Scootaloo."
The filly nodded. "Yeah. How'd you know?"
"What is this all about, Rift?" asked Celestia.
"Total... domination." said Rift. "All your worlds will soon belong to me."
"What are you talking about?" asked the new Rainbow Dash, as Rarity looked over at her.
Rift laughed again. "Your absences from your dimensions will cause instability, making it easy for me to dominate everything."
"Our absences?" asked G1 Twilight.
Rift trotted over to her. "Let me explain Twilight."
"Twilight?" asked Twilight Sparkle.
"I paid a visit to the witches from the Volcano Of Gloom and talked them into summoning the Smooze again."
"That was you?" asked G1 Twilight.
"Yes. And I assume Rosedust is gathering what's left of the Flutter Ponies?"
"What's left?"
"I may have... swiped a few of them." said Rift. "Fact is, there's not enough to stop the Smooze this time. Your dimension is mine." He turned to Bon Bon. "Know that storm that's approaching your town, Bon Bon?"
"Wh-What about it?"
"A little gift from me to the ponies of your dimension. Your friends will be too busy trying to find you to help with the evacuations. I assume a... lot of casualties."
"You're sick." spat Celestia.
Rift grinned. "But I've just scratched the surface, Celestia." He then turned to Rainbow Princess Rarity. "Now, you're dimension intrigues me, Rarity."
"Rarity?" asked G4 Rarity.
"All those ponies look up to the power of rainbows, don't they?" asked Rift. "Looks like their happiness is about run its course. And when it does, their lives will crumble as they'll slip into sadness."
"How could you?" asked G3 Rarity.
"Say good-bye to rainbows, little princess.."
"Princess?" asked G4 Rarity.
"No more rainbows?" asked G3 Pinkie Pie. "Rainbow Dash will lose the color in her mane."
"Rainbow Dash?" asked G4 Rainbow Dash and G3.5 Scootaloo. They looked at each other. "You have a Rainbow Dash, too?" they both asked, shocked.
Rift looked at Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle. "And how goes your Winter Wishes Festival?"
"I'm afraid to ask, but... what about it?" asked Scootaloo.
"You honestly think it's gonna happen with you two missing?" asked Rift. "I highly doubt that. Every pony will be too busy looking for you. And your sister Cheerilee will be very upset, wouldn't she?"
"Cheerilee?" asked Applejack.
"Sister?" asked G4 Rarity
"And for this dimension..." said Rift. "I'm gonna have a lot of fun tearing these ponies apart. Turn them on each other. You know... destroy everything."
"We won't let you." said Celestia.
"I'm afraid..." said Rift. "you don't have a choice."
A rift opened up above him as he shot upwards into it. The rift closed as Celestia glared at where it used to be.
"This is not good." she said. "This is a total disaster."
"What are we gonna do, princess?" asked Twilight Sparkle.
"I... I don't know."
