14. The Rock Tunnel Route

At the Pokémon Center at Cerulean City, Diamond Tiara and her friends were looking at the Map app on Babs' phone while it charges.
"The Rock Tunnel leads us to a place called Lavender Town." Babs said.
"I heard of Lavender Town." Silver said with concern. "It has a tower that serves as a cemetery where deceased Pokémon rest in peace."
This made Eevee shiver in fear. Diamond cuddles her little friend. "Don't worry, Eevee. We'll keep you safe."
Later, the girls got ready and headed out. They come upon a bunch of branches that block their path.
"Okay, Eevee." Diamond said. "Cut those branches!"
Eevee cut the branches, and the team headed out. Soon, they confronted a bug catcher, he sent out a Venonat. But, Babs sent out her Spearow. This battle was fierce. But, Spearow's Peck attack finished off the Venonat.
"Good work, Spearow." Babs praised.
At that moment, Spearow started to glow. The girls watched as Spearow's wings and beak grew. When the glowing ended, Spearow was replaced by a bigger brown bird with large wings, a long beak, and red feathers on it's head.
"Spearow evolved into a Fearow." Diamond gasped as she grabs her Pokédex.
Fearow, the Beak Pokémon and the evolved form of Spearow. The Pokédex said. With it's magnificent wings, it can fly all day without getting tired.
Babs Seed felt happy. "Congratulations , Fearow,"
Fearow squawked happily . Silver Spoon sees a cave. "Look, you guys. I think that's Rock Tunnel."
The girls went over to the cave. Sure enough, that's where they have to go.
"There's a Pokémon Center near this tunnel." Diamond noticed. "Let's heal up our Pokémon before entering."
Meanwhile, in another location, the elegant couple of Jet Set and Upper Crust are enjoying a quiet lunch. They're also discussing about other subjects.
"I hear from Spoiled Rich that her daughter is on a Pokémon journey here in Kanto." Upper Crust said.
"Indeed." Jet Set replied. "Diamond Tiara wants to prove that she doesn't have to follow in her mother's footsteps all of the time. This experience as a Pokémon trainer is doing her good."
"Did you see some of the pictures Spoiled showed us?"
"I have. Personally, her own takes of the barefoot tomboy is impressive. Especially that farmer girl good. Kudos to the Apple Family for those clothes."
Upper Crust soon had a terrifying thought. "What about that young lady: Holly Prema? She's been going around trying to get Diamond to return to her snobbish ways again."
"I feel somebody is pulling her strings." Jet Set figured. "Once we find this damsel, we will get to the bottom of this mystery."
The couple shake hands in agreement. In the meantime, Diamond Tiara and company healed their Pokémon, and entered the Rock Tunnel.
"Man, it's so dark in here, I can't see nothing!" Babs protested.
"Babs is right." Silver added. "The darkness makes places like this more spooky."
Diamond spoke up. "Okay, Eevee. Use 'Light Up'!"
Eevee generated power to light up the cave. The tunnel is enormous. Silver noticed that Diamond has her sneakers on.
"Getting a little tired of going barefoot, Diamond?" Silver asked.
"Not really." Diamond answered. "But, the grounds of any cave might make it a little difficult. I might step on sharp rocks that could cut my feet open."
"That makes sense." Babs added.
They look around the cavern they see Geodudes, Zubats, and a bigger bat. Silver Spoon spotted the bat. "That looks like Zubat's evolved form: Golbat."
Diamond's Pokédex comes alive. Golbat, the bat Pokémon and the evolved form of Zubat. When it's full of blood, it may fly a little more difficult.
Then, they saw what looks like a stone rhino.
"That's a Rhyhorn." Babs noticed as Diamond gets her Pokédex ready.
Rhyhorn, the Spikes Pokémon. Said the Pokédex. When it charges to something, it doesn't stop for anything.
Silver Spoon approached it carefully with a blue ball with red stripes on it.
"This Great Ball should catch it." Silver Said as she tosses it to Rhyhorn. "Great Ball, GO!"
The Great Ball connected and absorbed the Rhyhorn. It shook before it clicked.
"Great catch, Silver." Diamond praised.
At that moment, a karate man stepped in. "Which of you would like to battle me?"
Diamond stepped up. "I'll take you on."
"Then, let us battle. Go, Machop!"
Out pops a kid sized creature with a muscular body. Diamond learns of this critter.
Machop, the Superpower Pokémon. The Pokédex said. It trains a lot to develop it's muscles.
Diamond sends in her Pokémon. Everybody was shocked when she brought out a yellow and brown tapir type beast.
"It's a Drowzee!" Babs noticed.
"Drowzee?" Silver gasped. "The Hypnosis Pokémon?"
The Karate man wasn't amused. "I'm not afraid. Machop, Karate Chop!"
Machop gave a quick chop to Drowzee's head. But, bring a psychic type, Drowzee wasn't affected that much. This made the Karate man upset. "Let's try this. Seismic Toss!"
As Machop got close, Diamond unleashed a surprise. "Drowzee, use Poison Gas!"
Drowzee blew a purple smoke on Machop. When poison kicked in, Diamond followed it up. "Now, Psybeam!"
Drowzee fired a beam of psychic energy. Between that and the poison, Machop quickly fainted. The Karate man recalled the Machop and quietly walked away. "Never underestimate my opponent. I'll remember that for next time."
Later, the girls exited the cavern. And, there was Lavender Town in sight. Diamond played back the information about Drowzee on her Pokédex. Drowzee, the Hypnosis Pokémon. Like the legendary Tapir, it can eat dreams. And, it's very happy when it rpeats a very good dream.
"Which Pokémon did you exchange to have Drowzee?" Babs asked.
"I asked Professor Oak to exchange Drowzee for Pikachu." Diamond said. "He is very pleased with how I raise my Pokémon."
Silver giggled seeing Eevee snuggling up to Diamond. "You must be a good trainer if Eevee still likes you."
The girls had a good laugh as they head for Lavender Town. And, the next leg of Diamond Tiara's Pokémon journey.
