"So you see, Mayor Mare, I really need this job so that way I can pay for the rent." Spitfire said, finally finishing her story.
"Well. Miss. Spitfire, I..." the mayor began.
"Please, just Spitfire," Spitfire interrupted.
"Well, Spitfire, I have looked over your references and you've taken the test... So I'm happy to tell you... You've got the job!"
"Oh, thank you sooo much, Mayor!" Spitfire said, her joy overcoming her.
"Yes, well I expect to see you at work tomorrow!" The mayor chided.
"Well of course, Mayor!"
Spitfire almost ran out to the hall to greet the waiting Rainbow Dash.
" I got the job!" She almost squealed.
"That's so great!" Rainbow said.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you! Rainbow Dash you're so brilliant I could kiss you!" Spitfire said, not noticing that last comment.
"Umm, Yeah... Well do you want to go check out the house?" Rainbow offered.
"Oh! Of course! I completely forgot!" said Spitfire, blushing. (Probs because she told Rainbow she could kiss her! But what do I know! I'm just the author! *shrugpony.jpg*)
"Well then, let's get flying!" Rainbow said, stretching her wings.
"But wait! Where's the house?" asked Spitfire.
"Oh, just follow me!"
"But..."
"3,2,1, GO!" said Rainbow Dash as she took off, Leaving a very confused Spitfire surrounded by a cloud of dust.
"It. Is. On!" Spitfire shouted, taking off from where she was. In a matter of moments, the ex-Wonderbolt had caught up with the junior speedster, and she whistled, causing Rainbow to look to her side. When she saw Spitfire, she simply gave a knowing smirk and then suddenly stopped. Spitfire whizzed on past her, trying to stop. When she finely did, she heard Rainbow call to her.
"Hey! You passed the house!" Rainbow said, chuckling afterwards.
Shaking her head, Spitfire flew back to the house where Rainbow was unlocking the door. As soon Rainbow Dash opened the door, Tank jumped out and landed on Rainbow.
"Oof, Tank would you get off me!" Rainbow said, pushing Tank "Here Tank, meet out new guest! Spitfire!"
Tank gave Spitfire a curious look, then looked back at Rainbow Dash who nodded at him, and then smiled at Spitfire.
"Nice to meet you too, Tank!" Spitfire said.
"Well now that you've met the 'other resident', would you like the grand tour?" Rainbow asked.
"Sure! Where should we start?"
"TO THE KITCHEN!" Rainbow yelled, taking off at full gallop. "So this is the kitchen," Rainbow said, gesturing with her hoof to the surrounding area upon arrival.
"This is huge!" Spitfire said, eyes wide, taking in the large kitchen.
"Yeah I guess it is, I don't really use it though," Rainbow said, shrugging it off.
"What!? But it's so huge!" Spitfire said, her inner cook taking over.
"Well you can use it. I just order takeout mostly," Rainbow said, continuing on with their tour, "Well come on then!"
The two mares slowly walked through the rest of the house. They toured the bathroom, living room, office, and finally Spitfire's new bedroom.
"Well, here it is, your new bedroom!" Rainbow said with fake enthusiasm.
"Well I guess I better get unpacking, huh?"
"Yeah, I'll just get out of your mane."
"Hey wait, Rainbow!"
"Yeah?"
"Thanks for letting me stay here,. You're pretty cool," Spitfire said, with a genuine smile.
"Yeah, no problem," Rainbow said, walking back to her own room.
~TIME LAPSE, OOOOH~
After both mares decided to retire for the night, they lay awake in their respective beds, both wondering what they did wrong that day, and both wishing they could be in the comfort of the other.
