//------------------------------// // Chrysalis makes a fool of herself // Story: Running high // by TunaAbolisher //------------------------------// It’s been months since the other changelings betrayed Chrysalis and “reformed”, as they put it. Chrysalis is not happy. The latest plan she had, to use copies of the element-bearers to harness the power of the element of harmony for herself had failed miserably with her being betrayed by her own creations. She’s had to survive on her own, mostly powerless now and starving due to the lack of love she had failed to collect, and she has no more subjects to take out her anger on. To her relief, she spots the figure of a earth pony in the distance and decides to sneak on them. (-she will regret it later-) Once close enough, she takes full view of the pony. It’s a green mare with light red mane and tail, her mane and tail are styled in a messy and “hippie” way. Chrysalis doesn’t think of it, taking the chance of the mare facing the other way to pounce on her. Chrysalis pins the mare to the ground and proceeds to forcefully take her love. What she hadn’t realized was that the mare in question wasn’t alone in the forest for no reasons, she was doing illegal substances, and her love was affected by it. Yeah, Chrysalis got high from all the drug-filled love. Once she was done, she got off the mare, her mind wavy and dreamy, as she walked away, ignoring the words from Treehugger. Chrysalis kept on walking, and walking, until she came across a cliff, and walked off. Only to take flight and fly high in the sky in a straight direction, her eyes focused on nothing. Her flight was sloppy and was sometimes interrupted by her spontaneously transforming into a different appearance, but after much endeavor, the land around her changed and became more snowy. She had somehow made it to the Frozen north and flew straight into the barrier of the crystal Empire, her legs sprawled out against it as she slid down the barrier until she fell into the snow. A couple of guards noticed her and ran to surround her, pointing spear at Chrysalis. “Halt! You are a enemy of her majesty, Princess Mi Amore Cadenza, and of Equestria! Surrender yourself willingly or we will have to use force!” The high bug pony only looked at the guard who shouted at her, blinking slowly, one eye at a time. Another of the guards was a bit weirded out at the look in her eyes and how she was acting. “Errrr, Sir, are you sure this is Queen Chrysalis?” “It has to be, she fits the description perfectly and is a unreformed changeling.” The previous guard said as he glared at Chrysalis. “Armor... Shiny...” Chrysalis spoke, her words not fitting her intimidating voice as she got up and stared at her reflection in the crystal pony’s armor. The guard took a step back, followed by Chrysalis taking a step forward. He looked at the rest of his squad awkwardly, who all shared the same look before going back in the barrier, making sure Chrysalis could pass through as they leaded her towards the crystal castle so their Princess could enact judgement on her. Chrysalis, being way too high to think logically, followed her reflection in the shiny crystal armor. Once they were at the entrance of the castle, a new guard that was apparently smarter than the rest placed -after much trouble- a inhibitor ring at the base of Chrysalis’ horn, preventing her from using Magic. The weird feeling of having her magic cut from her made her jolt back, but only for a short moment as her mind fogged up again, her eyes staring into nowhere again. “I can hear emotions and taste colors...” The guards looked at her with slight concerned as they found a way to lead her inside the castle and into the throne room, where Cadance was, sitting on the throne, while Flurry heart was cuddled up next to her, Shining armor was nowhere to be found. “What is it, my ponies?” “We have apprehended Queen Chrysalis, your highness.” One of the guards reported as they stepped aside to reveal the Changeling queen that was looking around dreamily. “She seems.... Out of it. Have any of you hit her with a strong concussion spell?” “No, ma’am. She was like this when we found her at the border of the empire.” “I see... You can leave, my ponies. I will take care of her alone, as i can see she has a inhibitor ring, she cannot do anything to me.” The guards nodded and left the throne room. All the while, Cadance was glaring at Chrysalis, one of her wing draped over Flurry heart protectively, while the little filly was looking at Chrysalis curiously. “I know you’re faking this, Chrysalis. You cannot deceive me.” But Chrysalis didn’t respond, only looking around and staring at her reflection in the many crystals around, her eyes cloudy. “Fine, keep up your masquerade if you wish so. It doesn’t matter anymore. You will be contained in the dungeons and my aunt, Celestia, will be called, as well as the elements of Harmony, so they can either banish you to Tartarus or turn you into stone.” Chrysalis was still not responding, her mind elsewhere as she started to chuckle to herself at the funny reflections she saw in the many mirrors. To say Cadance wasn’t happy at how her serious discussion was taken, was a understatement. She slammed her hoof on her throne, the sound ringing through the whole throne room. “Stop this useless masquerade at once, Chrysalis!” The sound actually made her react, her gaze shifting to the princess of love and her child, mostly to Cadance. Her eyes were sharp despite how cloudy they weren’t, and seemed to pierce right through Cadance as she took slow steps forward. Cadance’s horn flared up in a blue aura as she got ready to shoot a spell at Chrysalis. “Don’t try anything, you cannot use your magic.” To Cadance’s surprise, what Chrysalis did, instead of trying to attack, was drop into position once she was close enough and start swaying from side to side, with a big, stupid smile, her instincts having flared up at Cadance’s wild colors and working for her as she did a traditional mating dance. The expression on Cadance’s face shifted to one of pure confusion and worry, not understanding what the hay was the changeling queen doing. Meanwhile, Flurry heart was getting swaying side to side in place, swaying in rhythm to the Giddy music that was playing in the background. After some time of Chrysalis dancing. Flurry heart, deciding the weird Bug pony’s dance was fun, joined in, springing up in front of Chrysalis and swaying side to side in rhythm with a happy smile. Cadance only got more confused at the scene. Shining armor stepped inside the throne room, having been gone to the bathroom, he froze at the sight, raising a hoof as he was about to speak, his words dying in his throat as he turned around and walked away with a simple. “Nope.” And this is why no reformed changeling ever dared to feed on Treehugger’s love, ever.
