					Chapter 9: Copy Cat

Two days pasted as the troops prepared for the battle. During that time I’ve done what I can with my preparations. Thought I must tell you about yesterday. It was quite interesting.

I woke up to see a face that I certainly wasn’t expecting, because instead of the adorable face of my favorite pegasus, I woke up to see Copy Cat next to me.

She makes a sly smile and says, “Morning stud. You where amazing last night.”

I scream and fall off the mattress. After I hit the ground I hear the laughs of both Copy Cat and Rainbow. I stand up and see Rainbow smirking at me.

“Didn’t I tell you he would fall for that?” She asked Copy Cat.

“Yeah, but I say that the screaming was unnecessary. Now I feel unattractive thanks to Seth.” She responded.

“Uhhh...” Is all I respond with. 

Rainbow puts her arm around my shoulders, messes up my mane a bit and says, “Don’t worry Seth. If you can tell by now we were just pranking you.”

“Yeah I got it. Still you gals almost gave me a heart attack. I mean if I ever cheated on you... I would never be able to forgive myself.”

“Well I know that’s not going to happen. Besides if you did you would never find another mare as awesome as me.” She started resting her head against mine.

A little later that day I ran into Copy Cat again. I apologized from my reaction, but she said that she was kidding when she said I made her feel unattractive. The conversation eventually shifted to the attack and how she is going to help us.

“You now before coming to this universe, I never really knew that changelings could preform such spells like invisibility and creating clones of oneself.” I tell her.

“Well, technically most changelings don’t learn any spell other than levitation. And the ones that do don't learn many. I like to think of myself as an exception, but I don't want to brag.”

“Doesn’t the whole changing thing count as a spell?”

“No, It’s a natural ability.”

“Oh okay. So I’ve been wondering why are you with this resistance anyways?”

“Do you mind hearing my life story?”

“Sure.”

“Females are rare when it comes to Changelings. Like I think it’s like 1 out of every 250 or something like that. So all we’re really used for is breeding. Even the Queen. So yeah if those rumors are true, I feel bad for Drez because he’s not getting sloppy seconds. It’s more like sloppy one-thousand, two-hundred and eighty fifths. Anyways I didn’t want that to be my whole life so I escaped from the hive and made my way to Equestria. For years I disguised myself as a unicorn mare named Violet Charm. I found work in Canterlot, learned some magic, and one day I met Steel.” She began to blush.

“Wait, wait, wait. You and Steel?” I ask.

“Yeah, In fact the two of us have been married for almost three years now.”

“So when did her find out about the whole changeling thing?”

“It was sometime after Shining and Cadence’s wedding that I told him. He was really angry at first. I didn’t blame him. How would you react if it turned out that Rainbow Dash was lying about who she was to you for years?”

I didn’t say anything, but I realized how similar it was to my story.

“Eventually he said that he didn’t care that I was a changeling because in the end I’m still the mare that he fell in love with. It did take him awhile to call me Cat instead of Violet. I mean everyone else got used to it quicker than him.”

We both chuckled a bit before we went our separate ways.

So, now it’s the day of the attack. The troops are heading to the castle, and my friends, Copy Cat and I are getting ready to teleport into the throne room. This may be a cliche thing to say, but it’s all or nothing. Those two are going down via power of friendship. Let the battle begin.
