Devotionals To A Frozen Goddess

by Undome Tinwe

Remembrance

Child of Love, who sweetly sleeping
Doth portend a brighter future
By her side, a filly weeping
As she prays with endless fervour

Long ago, yet just a second
She recalls a Goddess frozen
Seated on her throne she beckoned
"Come to me, O traitor broken

"Loyalty from you I fought for
Coaxed your heart from stone to fire
Acolyte, I need your favour
Promise me your love won't tire"

Bending knee, she gave her answer
"All of which I have to offer
Comes from you, who saw me lesser
But still kindly gave me succour.

"Now I see our kingdom crumbling
Fading, falling into nothing
As the ice consuming all things
Reaches us and brings our ending

"But in these eternal moments
'Fore the reaper comes to claim us
You shall have all my heart's contents
Death shall find me in your service"

"Death shall be not how we're parted,"
Came the voice so gently fading.
"Born again we both are fated
So is this a wheel's beginning.

"With my last breath I shall bind us
When you find me, be awakened
In a final act of service
Give to me a world endarkened."

In the present, this young filly
Cries as she recalls her duty
"Hallowed be your name, O Flurry
Soon shall you behold my fealty."
