Devotionals To A Frozen Goddess

by Undome Tinwe

Apostate's Creed

A gilded cage, made strong with lies
A spider’s thread, in crimson shades
Her goddess sleeps, and with a sigh
The faithful servant leaves the glade

Be vigilant of friend or foe
For darkness seeks to snuff out light
But Virtue’s folly takes its toll
And sometimes Justice can lose sight

And so the Goddess trusts but one
To keep her faith, to do her will
The heart, the stars, the moon, the sun
Are good but she is greater still

One day the key will find the space
Within the lock that keeps her bound
Then all will know her rightful place
As one by one the lost are found

But now her servant draweths near
With tidings from her chain’ed slave
So lend your ears, that you might hear
Salvation’s call and thus be saved
