Logbook
Its done. The mage was defeated (I think) it came at a cost… Zane is… not the same, and I can feel it. Actually we all do! He had not said anything since the fight with the necromancer, he nearly killed us but, Zane was different on how he ended the fight. I guess the necromancer killed his brother a long time ago. But Zane won’t say anything! He is just shaken…I hope. This is Rai, the red knight of the Castle Crashers signing off on April 6
The trip to the clouds was one thing Zane would never achieved but eh who cares, Rainbow dash as below him pushing his cloud slowly as they soon reach more clouds that take a form of landscape. Now getting at all bothered by it the blue Pegasus leads the silent trooper through the sky as they reach not to far a house made of clouds. It’s sits well shaped in all, Zane raises a brow at the sight.
“Hmm” he hummed as Rainbow lands next to him smiling brightly “yeah I know, it’s an awesome house” she said before flying up to the door allowing the human to enter in. She noticed that he left some snow prints on the clouds as he walks by ‘so is it the magic that’s keeping him up here?’ She shrugged it off, maybe once Twilight has a place she could ask.
Zane looks around seeing a pretty normal living room, simple couch and windows all regular from his old village. Rainbow quickly give Zane the tour around the place and shows the spare room not to far from her room. Once opening it he gasped seeing… the room filled up boxes and… trophies? Rainbow quickly shuts the door and offered a weak smile with pink cheeks showing.
“I’ll need to uh… clean that… so uh do you need a shower? Cus you smell kind of bad” she said before mentally slapping herself as Zane furrowed his brows.
“Hmph” he grunted before he sighed and smelled his arm, intently recoiling back in disgust, he looks at Rainbow and she chuckled lightly “the uh… the bathroom is down the hall, towels are in the cabinet. Zane nods and walks towards the destination. Once inside he nods to see that it has a pretty good amount of space here. Closing the door Zane first takes his half helm off before he reaches down and opens his chest armor, he zips down and slides off the armor feeling his shoulders more free from his heavy plating shoulders. Once that’s off he goes for his two swords, taking one off by one he looks at his weapons with each hand until spotting his oldest blade. Putting his one blade down he eyes the sword with hate and hears the echo form the back of his head.
“Zane…”
He cringed as the voice and closed the blade and tossed it along his gear, then he reaches for his belt. With a simple click the whole half skirt and belt all were added to the pile of gear. Now naked Zane walks over the shower and closed the door and turns the nozzle. He sighed feeling the warmth hit his skin, the dirt and grime all slowly wiping off his body leaving scars all reviled more. He closed his eyes as he puts a hand on one scare and grunts as he hears the necromancer’s voice… clenching a fist he placed it on the wall as he tries to keep his calm.
“Zane…” the voice returned, Zane open his eyes and blinks before finding a bar of soap he starts cleaning himself, ignoring the voice again. After wiping the soap off he stands in the water for a good minute. He sighed again as he turned the water off and opens the door to see his gear, right where he left it. Looking up at the mirror he sees his one brown eye staring back at him while his damaged eye flinched a bit. He rubs his face and frown a bit seeing himself more. His damage eye does nothing really but once he blinks he sighed.
“Hey Zane I was wonder if you—“ Rainbow stops by the door and freezes in place as she eyed the human’s body “G- GAH!” Zane shouted quickly covering his body as Rainbow stuttered and bumps into the door before screaming
“Sorrysorrysorrysorrysorry!”
“Rrrrhmph!” Zane snarled before quickly putting his armor back on, he eyes his swords and then scoffed and then walks to the door. Back in the living room Rainbow was sitting on the couch, flushed cheeks and all. She gasped as Zane walked in with his frown still on his face “I’m so sorry Zane, I thought you were done, cus the door was not locked too” she said looking down at the floor.
“Hm!” He grunts before he waved a hand off making Dash smile a little as she looks around the place. Zane eyes the kitchen and then the front door, Rainbow smiles bright now as flaps her wings getting his attention now.
“Now uh before that happened. I was gonna ask if you wanted to see me and few other ponies train to fly?” She asked. Zane grunted and crossed his arms, still pissed on what happened… but going outside would help the headache that’s slowly coming. He nods while sighing in defeat, Rainbow dash pumps a hoof and dashed to the door leaving wide open for the human to also step out too.
He looks around the place seeing clouds all around and lots of winged ponies all fly around talking normally… a bit too much. Zane sighed as Rainbow flies next to him, eye level and all too. “So if you don’t mind me asking but, why can’t you talk? Your friends say that you choose not to, why is that?” She asked
“…” he dead paints and rubbed his head annoyed now cus she won’t non stop ask now. “How did you get your power? How old are you? Do you know the wonderbolts?” And soon Zane grunts and turns a different way and stops to see the cloud land before him. He noticed one bigger cloud filled with ponies and all, he sees some rainbow spill out and the pony next to him smiles brightly “Cloudsdale sure is a cool sight to see” she said
“…MmMmm” Zane nodded as the pair watch the floating city, Zane puff a breath before looking at Rainbow “so, sit here, and watch and learn from the best!” She said stretching her wings again and takes off in the sky in a flash. Zane watched closely before he slowly sits down on the cloud and sees the pony dash around in a flash… she is fast but also a bit stubborn… mainly. Zane just sighed as he puts a hand on a knee as he watches the pony. She crashes in clouds some of the times, it’s one way of getting the human’s humor out. But at some point Zane soon noticed some ponies were flying over to the pair, Rainbow noticed it and groaned loudly before landing next to Zane with a bit of fear in her face.
“Uhhh…”
“They are… old bullies of mine… those jerks just never know when to quit!” She spat and looking at the floor. Three stallions all were laughing as they fly around in circles before landing “aw look at that guys, Rainbow Crash had a hairless Golem for pet” the middle stallion laughed
“What’s the problem Dash? Tired of crashing all the time? You wanted to have a golem see you suck!” The left stallion said slapping his foreleg. Zane was annoyed at the whole “golem” name but when he looks at Dash he can see… oh now it’s on. Zane pops his neck and slowly growls while he walks to the pair of stallions. He looks at the middle with a frown and gets on a knee.
“Uh… what do you want-“ he was cut off when his front leg was grabbed, Zane stands back up and brings the hoof in the air having the stallion see him eye to eye. Zane scoffed at the stallion and charges his magic. A white aura slowly surrounds his body and his damaged eye glows brightly.
“Ah! Somepony! Guys? Help!” The stallion shouts. Rainbow just watched while the other two were about to get up “Hey! Put him—“ he stopped. Zane snaps his head to the stallion’s direction making the two stair deeply into his eyes.
The stallions all blink and before they know… there in a different place… snow falling all around them like a blizzard. Zane stands there starting at the group as they all shiver in fear. Zane takes a step and slowly starts to laugh…. His laugh was loud and deep… and it slowly surrounds the group of stations. They all start the shout and whimper, and as they blink again, there back in reality.
They all scream as Zane drops the one stallion and they all fly off with fear. Zane chuckled at that and looks down at Rainbow Dash. His grin disappears as he see her face… and was about to rolls his eyes, but stop as he was then tackled to the ground by the sky blue Pegasus. She hugs him tight and starts laughing as she brakes the hug.
“Sorry… heh, just never thought I would hear them scream that high pitch” she said rubbing the back of her head. Zane blinks for a second before he smiles again and sits up right before they both start laughing.
As the day was slowly coming close to the end Zane was back at the house while Rainbow was off doing her job of weather patrolling, the human had visited Cloudsdale and saw the stores and heard more on the wonderbolts that Rainbow seamed to have mentioned a lot. They seam like his kind of thing, but being a land creature, he can’t fly so that’s out of his role.
Rainbow soon enters inside tired in all of the work she had done today. Zane nods at her entering and flops on the couch “so no luck finding anything huh?” She asked, Zane shakes his head and puts a hand on his chin as leaning forward to his knee.
“So… now thinking on it, you’re going to be here for a while right?” She asked
Zane nods at that, he frowns lightly now realizing it. His leader never had told a plan on the search for the mage… and now thinking on it more… they might be stuck here too. “Heh cool” Rainbow said making the human look at her with a brow raised, she blushed lightly before puffing her chest out “so that mean I can show you more on the wonderbolts!” She blurted and frowns at the human.
Zane rolls his eyes and then reaches for his pocket and pulls out a page. He hands it to the pony, she nearly fainted at the image “the… the wonderbolts are having an air show at Ponyville?” She asked and the human nods hiding a smile a little.
“Dude! We have to cheer on this! I finally can get the chance to have Spitfire recruit me!” She squeals and dashed to the kitchen and pulls some… beer? Zane eyes the glass bottle with a hand and eyes it… it’s apple cider? He had recalled back in the day when him and his team had a great victory they would go for drinks… but this is there term of alcohol? No way right?
He takes a swig and jolted feeling the taste of beer with the tad flavor of apples hit his tongue. He eyes the drink and then looks at the mare chug the whole bottle. He then does the same and takes a breath as the warm liquid goes down his stomach.
“Heh never had apple cider before?” She asked, Zane only gasped as he takes a moment… he then puts the glass down and stretched his back. The mare does the same before the two chuckle a bit, Zane maybe new to this whole deal of living on cloud, but he could get used to this pony… she is something he can call a friend at least.
“Hm” he smerk before he sits back on the couch as he rubs his chin for a plan on what do for the future of living in the pony land.
