//------------------------------// // Baby Misty // Story: Misty Day // by Aurachalcum96 //------------------------------// Chapter 1: Baby Misty This is a story about a father who would do anything for his daughter to make her happy and show her how much she means to him. In the land of Equestria, there was a place called Bridlewood. And there, there was a tea shop called the Crystal Tearoom. It was run by a big, strong Unicorn stallion named Alphabittle. He ran and lived in that shop with his daughter, Misty Brightdawn. Ever since she was born, the father and daughter formed an extremely strong bond with each other. Misty rarely spent a lot of time with other ponies her age and much preferred being with her father. She was a huge daddy’s girl and wasn’t ashamed at all to be one. She loved her father deeply and calls him her hero every day; a sentiment that always gets him in tears of joy. Alphabittle just loved his precious little filly more than anything in life. She’s the apple of his eye. He would do anything for her to keep her happy and loved. He gives her more gifts than a parent would normally get for their children on her birthday and on the holidays. But there was one day in particular that Alphabittle loved celebrating more than any other day; a day that he completely made up. Misty Day. A day dedicated to his daughter. There’s no specific date for when it happens and in fact happens multiple times a year when he has so much love to give her that he just needs to let it all out. So he holds Misty Day at different times during the year whenever he needs to just let her know how much she means to her. And he’s been doing this since she was a baby. In fact, that’s where the story begins. One night, Alphabittle was in bed while his baby filly was in her crib asleep. Alphabittle, at this point in time, was fairly young. He was more fit and strong than he is in the present day. He had a dark blue mane and tail at this point in his life, but had a gray coat his entire life. His little baby Misty, still unable to talk much besides ‘dada’ at this point, was a sky-blue-coated baby Unicorn with a multi-colored mane and tail. Both were still asleep in their respective beds; Alphabittle was snoring quite a bit, but it wasn’t anything that could keep his baby disturbed. Little baby Misty slept as quietly as a good baby could. But during the night, she slowly woke up and gave a big yawn. It was rare for a baby to wake up during the night and not end up crying loudly from having a nightmare or any other struggles a baby would have. Poor little Misty couldn’t go back to sleep. Not even staring at the stars from her little nightlight could help. So rather than go to back to sleep, the little baby decided to have a little fun. Using the magical surge that baby Unicorns get at this point, she escaped her crib and made her way to her sleepy papa bear. She gave a big smile at the sight of his sleepy face. “Dada!” Misty cooed while tapping against his cheeks, “Dada!” But the stallion still slept. With how dark it was, it would be a while before he would wake up. But Misty wanted him up now. “Dada!” Misty whined as she tapped harder, “Dada!” Still, nothing worked. Little baby Misty puffed out her cheeks in frustration. She wanted him up so badly. If only she could properly speak; he would be up no problem. But at her current age, Misty couldn’t say much of anything besides the cry for her big papa bear. Suddenly, the baby got an idea. She was rather smart for her age and was sure this would work. She returned to her crib thanks to her magical surge, stuck her tongue out to take drops of spit and place them under her eyes to make them look like tears, got into position, and initiated her plan. “WAAHHHHH!” Misty faked cried, “WAHH! WAHHH! WAHHHH!” “H-huh?!” Alphabittle stammered as he awoke from the sound of the crying. He looked toward the crib and quickly assumed something was wrong. Poor Aplhabittle was completely unaware of his daughter’s mischief. As far as he could tell, his baby was actually crying and just couldn’t sit back. “Oh.” Alphabittle cooed as he picked up his baby. Misty gave a quiet giggle as he picked her up and then quickly got back to fake crying. “Misty, what’s wrong?” Alphabittle asked in a soft voice, “Did you have a nightmar-“ “Boo!” Misty yelped as she quickly flexed her hooves out. “Woah!” Alphabittle yelped as he jumped a little. He was so surprised that he actually fell backwards and landed on his bed. Thankfully, he kept his baby from getting hurt. Once he got a good look at her, he saw her laughing hard at her poor father’s expense. “Hey!” Alphabittle said with a smirk, “You little trickster.” He then said up and held his baby out to get a good look at her. “You were just trying to get Daddy out of bed, were you?” He asked her as he raised an eyebrow. All Misty did was put a hoof near her mouth and softly giggled. Alphabittle saw how adorable she looked and just couldn’t help but get all quivered-eyed at her. “Oh, my little Misty.” Alphabittle said softly as he cradled his baby while nuzzling his cheek against hers, “Daddy can’t get mad at you. Not when you’re this cute.” “Dada.” Misty said softly as she touched his face. “Yes, Misty.” Alphabittle said, “Dada’s here.” It was a magical moment for the two ponies right then and there. It was especially a wonderous moment for Alphabittle as he loved his baby deeply with all of his heart. Having her has been the best thing to ever happen to him. He loved her so much that any thought of a life where he didn’t have her scared him deeply. He soon ended the nuzzling and saw how dark it still was outside. “Okay, Misty.” Alphabittle said as he got up from the bed and started putting his baby into her crib, “Back to be-“ “No!” Misty cried, “Dada! Dada!” She cried some more while reaching her hooves towards him. “Wha-what?” Alphabittle wondered as he looked at her, “Misty. It’s bedtime. And you especially need your-“ Suddenly, he looked into her eyes and saw that tears were starting to form. She began to whimper while giving a pouty lip. Alphabittle was quickly weakened by the sadness that his baby had. As a father, he couldn’t stand seeing her sad in any way possible. He especially didn’t want to hear her cry. Not because of annoyance, but because it would break his heart. “Oh, okay.” Alpahabittle gave in as he pulled Misty back into his cradled hooves, “Dada’s already up anyway. Might as well start the day now.” “Yay!” Misty cheered as she gave a little clap, “Dada! Dada!” Alphabittle chuckled at his daughter’s happiness. Seeing her happy was only his second most favorite thing in the world, other than being with her that is. “You know what today is?” Alphabittle asked her, “It’s Misty Day!” He then got up from the bed again and carried his baby into the kitchen, “A day dedicated to my little baby girl.” He finished while looking at his baby again. He could see how happy she was to have her daddy up and about. And now that there was no change of going back to bed, Alphabittle quickly got Misty Day started and gave her presents, cake, played with her, and then sat down to have quiet daddy-daughter bonding time with her. He had hoped to do Misty Day in a time where he wouldn’t disturb pony’s sleep. To avoid any chance of that, he tried to keep his little party as quiet as possible. But as it went on and he was starting to have fun, he just couldn’t help himself. All while his fun time with his baby went on, he wondered how long it would take before Unicorns would come by complaining about the racket that was going on. But he didn’t care. He was having the time of his life getting to have fun with his baby girl. He made sure to get enough photos needed to fill a baby album to look back on as she gets older. He absolutely loved the times he had with her as a baby, but he knew it couldn’t last forever. But he does know that he can and will hold on to those memories forever. And as his baby finally went back to sleep in his hooves, Alphabittle looked down at his baby while sitting on the couch and cradled her gently while giving a great big smile with a few tears sitting in his eyes. “Oh, Misty.” Alphabittle cooed as he nuzzled his cheek against hers, “My precious little Misty.”
