Chapter One

A Little Magical Mishap
Written By KingSombraTheTyrantRuler

Twilight Sparkle sits at her dining table with a bowl of Cheerios, and sighs. There's hardly anything to do… I'm so bored…

Spike enters the room with a book in his hands. "Twilight? Princess Celestia sent this for you."

The purple alicorn's eyes light up and she teleports to Spike although she could've just walked.

The bowl of Cheerios are now long forgotten as Twilight snatches the book with joy. "It's a spellbook!" she exclaims.

Upon opening the book, she sees a note. Dear Twilight Sparkle, my faithful student. I would like it if you were to practise these spells, as they may come in handy should a villain attack. ~Princess Celestia.

Meanwhile, in the Carousel Boutique, Rainbow Dash lifted up the last box of sewing supplies and put it in the storage room.

"Thank you, Rainbow," says Rarity. "It is a little messy, but I still appreciate your help. Oh, only if you would be a little more ladylike..."

The blue pegasus just rolls her eyes and exits the boutique, not wanting to hear Rarity talk about how she should behave.

What should I do now? Oh yeah, Twilight told me that she got the latest Daring Do book!

As soon as she steps outside the shop, she spreads her wings and flies off.

"Let's see what the next spell is… Ooh, a spell to send a pony or object to a world filled with copies of the last pony they saw? This should be interesting!"

Twilight levitates a teacup onto the table in front of her, and her horn begins to glow as she prepares to cast the spell. Just before the beam of light hits the teacup, Rainbow Dash crashes onto the table and Twilight tries to stop the spell, but it's too late- Dash is gone.

"Oh horse- apples!"

Rainbow Dash groans as she awakens. "Ugh...my head…" She sits up, rubbing her head and looks around her. "Six Rarities?! Wearing Royal Guard uniforms?! I must've hit my head really hard…"

One of the angry Rarities steps forward and points a spear at the pegasus. "Come with us now, trouble maker, and if you resist arrest there shall be serious consequences!"

"What? Where are we going?!"

"To Princess Rarity."

"But why?"

"You have destroyed one of our buildings! And this is not just any building! It is the most popular shopping mall!"

Rainbow Dash looks to where the guard is pointing and winces as she sees a pegasus sized hole in it. "Whoops…"

"What is your name?" asks Princess Rarity.

Rainbow gulps as she gazes upon the Princess. Rarity looks beautiful like this…

"Rainbow Dash. I've come from a different world. My friend Twilight accidentally sent me here, and when I woke up, I saw your guards surrounding me. I honestly didn't mean to destroy the shopping mall."

" Usually, I would say, likely story, but I've never seen you before. Very well. I shall help you return home if you manage to fix the damage. "

Rainbow Dash wipes a bead of sweat off her forehead as she puts the last piece of glass in place. "Okay, I'm all done here," she tells the guard who's watching her.

One second later, they've teleported to the Palace, and the pegasus goes to the Princess, who seems to have been awaiting her return.

"I assume you have finished?"

" Yeah, every last brick is in place! So, can I go home now? "

"Indeed you may. But first, let's go to the library." The Princess teleports them there, and Rainbow Dash looks around in awe.

Although I'm not a pony who's all about beauty, this place looks pretty good.

"It would be a shame to let you go home without experiencing the beauty of my library first," explains the Princess. She smiles as she notices Dash's amazed expression. "Why, if you are already that amazed, look at the ceiling! "

Rainbow looks up towards the ceiling to see a lifelike statue of the Princess, made of what had to be pure gold, hanging from it. "Wow…" she can't help but say. "Is it really made of-"

"Pure gold? Indeed. It took quite a spell to hold it up, but it should be steady in the air for a while."

The pegasus nods and sees a few more Rarities in the library. "It must be a really strong spell," she comments. "How long has it held up for?"

"Since the start of my reign, which began… Hmm… I suppose ten years, give or take. "

They begin walking forward, and Rainbow can sense something falling. Something speeding through the air… It's not that statue, is it? I didn't jinx the spell or anything, did I?!

However she's not one of those ponies who are more talk, less action, and turns around, confusing the Princess who had just opened her mouth to say something.

Yes, it's the statue. Rainbow leaps up at the same time she shouts, "Princess Rarity, you need to move! Now!"

She bangs into it as it falls due to her hurry, which causes her wing to hurt, but she doesn't care. I've got to save her.

Zooming down as the Princess begins to shriek in horror, Dash barely manages to catch it, and groans once her hooves are wrapped around it. She attempts to fly lower with it and holds it as if her life depended on it. I don't think pegasi were built for weight-lifting. I know I trained for flying…

She glances at Rarity who has passed out on a conveniently placed fainting sofa.

Just a bit more...just a bit more...don't let go…

Once Rainbow sets it down safely on the ground, she groans. Her wing also chooses that moment to remind her of the pain.

Rarity wakes up, and smiles at Rainbow. “Darling, I can never thank you enough for saving my life, so I shall reward you by crowning you as the new Princess. It's time for me to step down, anyways. I can tell that you'll be a great leader. You selflessly put your own life at risk, to save me, so believe me when I say that you deserve the crown of Princess.”

“But Princess, I-I can't accept your offer,” Dash nervously said.

For the first time, she noticed the crowd that had gathered around, saying things like, “You must be Princess!”

I guess there's no way I can refuse now, especially not with this crowd around…

It was the day of the coronation, and Rainbow found herself being given a makeover, which she had reluctantly accepted. Usually, she was fine without makeup and didn't care about her appearance as much as other ponies (for example, Rarity) would, but the soon to be former Princess had pressured her into it, saying that it must be done.

Not to ruin her makeup and hairstyle, they had decided to put her dress on first. It was a pink, gem-studded Princess-style gown which had a high neck and no sleeves as white silk gloves were placed upon her hooves. She detested how long it was as it was difficult to move in, but was unable to talk her way out of it.

Apparently, this type of gown was the most fashionable item now, and no, the colour could not be changed.

Her hind hooves were placed in pink high heels, while her ears were decorated with diamond earrings, even though she had no piercing, due to which, magic did its job by holding the earrings up.

She thought that they were done with the physical stuff there, but one item was left, the name of which were golden cuff-style bracelets, which now adorned her hands.

Next began the styling, in which her mane was made to look like an exact replica of Rarity's by the usage of a hair curler, in all but colour. Rather than the blue eyeshadow that was usually seen on Rarity, pink eyeshadow was placed upon her eyelids with a small makeup brush, and her eyelashes now bore black mascara. Rainbow did her best not to blink, and couldn't help but think about how weird it felt.

Sweet smelling perfume, perhaps of roses or some other flower was sprayed all over her, and then she was helped up and ushered gently to the Great Hall.

Rainbow Dash walks onto the stage where she is to receive her crown, and waves to the crowd of Rarities.

Princess Rarity says, "Today, we are all gathered here for the crowning of a new Princess. I have been ruling for thousands of years, and now, I wish to hand the crown over to Rainbow Dash, a pony who saved my-"

Before she can finish her speech, Twilight appears out of thin air and holds Rainbow's hoof.

"Rainbow Dash, I've finally found you! I'm so sorry!"

Without giving anyone any time to react to her sudden appearance, she teleports back to the normal Equestria.

As they begin walking to the Castle of Friendship, Twilight decides to find out what happened to her friend.

"So, you've got a new look," she says after giving Dash a once over.

"Yeah, the Rarities there said I had to look nice for the coronation."

“Well, I'd say it quite suits you,” Rarity said, causing the blue pegasus to yelp in surprise. “I apologise for scaring you so, but what I said is true, is it not?”

Rainbow was about to walk away in embarrassment, not wanting Rarity to mock her, but a blue magical grip held her back. “Don't leave so soon, darling, I have a gift for you.”

The athlete raised her eyebrows as the marshmallow unicorn took an object out of her saddlebags, only to place it upon the blue pegasus’ head. “You can't be a Princess without a crown,” said Rarity, laughing, as Twilight also laughed.

Rainbow Dash groaned and began walking away. “I'm never helping you again,” she muttered.
