//------------------------------// // 2 - Plan It Out // Story: Glimmer Of The Moon // by ConCon56 //------------------------------// Herdsday, Nay 23rd 2:01 LT The blue unicorn trotted along a worn path, back to a trailer on the outskirts of Ponyville. Its the small, yet somehow comfortably cramped space she called home, and one she hoped would have been filled by the presences of a friends plot that night. Unfortunately, that "friend" had other plans, and decided to skip out on what could have been the most perfect sleepover ever. She had everything ready! She bought a new hammock, some fireworks, a whole boatload of pastries, and was able to, with the help of the local party pony and some connections, get some famous Sweet Apple Cider, the hard kind. Sadly, that wouldn't be. She sulked and put her head down in depression, stepping into her trailer. Lousy friend she is... Trixie thought to herself, Can't even make time for a magician as friendly and grateful as ME!! She pulled out a glass of store bought "Flim & Flams World-Famous Hard Cider". It wasn't Sweet Apple Acres cider, but for a mare as downtrodden as her, it would work. Besides, she wouldn't waste any of the special stuff on herself...it was for her and Starlight! Maybe they could have another night to do a slumber party...maybe. "Aghh, who am I kidding!?" Their friendship probably wouldn't have lasted long anyways. Sure, they were both outcasts who eventually were given a second chance by their greatest enemy, but just having some similar history can only get you so far. Personality wise, they were as compatible as..... As she tried to think of some sort of comparison, she took a swig of the cider, and winced back in surprise. It caused her to lose her train of thought. Damn, it really is hard... She slumped back over into the hammocks, her upper body in one and her back hooves in the other. With a look of disdain and chained-up frustration lurking in her mind, she did one of the only activates only an inebriated mind could think of doing in the dead of night: she opened a copy of Playfoal For Mares and got to work on her more sensitive areas. A rat was kept awake all night under her trailer. "Arrghh! It's never gonna work!!" Starlight shouted in the middle of her room, frustrated by her inability to form a perfect plan. She had gotten every book about Nightmare Moon stacked on her desk, and was now planning out a way to profess her newfound love for the night to Princess Luna... "The direct approach is just sure to get me a permanent ban from any sort of event with Luna in it, and if I play it too slowly, she'll never get the message...I have to meet SOMEWHERE in the middle...but where?! The perfect blend isnt just a 50/50 of the two! Thats not even taking into account the various other factors, like I'm not in love with Luna herself..." Her brain went ablaze with the infinite possibilities of what could happen, one of them concerning an octopus of all things. She then got a small and manipulative idea for a microsecond. "No nonono...I can't...I WON'T! W-what would Twilight think!? Forcing Luna back into Nightmare...? I...have I really changed?" All this time, she had forgot Nightmare Moon was supposed to be evil. Considering her past, she thought that the forcing of change into royalty was a surefire way to bring her back into her old ways. Might as well start enslaving ponies again while she licks the Moon Mares giant plot. "...that would be...pretty hot...~" She smirked and blushed as she pictured the view in her mind... ... "W-wait, no, I-" Starlight snapped back to reality as she came back from her...visions. She had a cruel choice to make: Either abandon her new life and friends, or lock her heart and love for the night away... "Are you kidding me!?" A little floating...Mini-Starlight with a Tirek-like costume appeared on her left. She had a malicious and conniving voice, the same when she taunted Twilight during the Cutie Map Incident. "Follow your heart, you little punk! Who gives a crap about Twilight and her Super Fuck-Buddies?" "Ridiculous!" Another Mini-Starlight popped up out of nowhere, this time with a regal Celestia-like costume. Unlike Tirek Starlight, her voice was much more royal and motherly, like Celestia. "Twilight gave you a second chance, when nopony else would! She saw the light in your heart, in your darkest hour..." "Oh, did she? Shes just using her as a way to make her precious princess Celestia happy! Your not a pupil, your just an award to that lavender fuck!" "I...I am, right?" Starlight looked at Tirek-Light with a face of realization. "Oh no no no!! What about Trixie? Don't you remember what Twilight said about-" "-About not trusting you and Trixie? She may have lost battle, but that doesn't mean she won the war..!" "The...war?" She said, confused. Her eyes followed the small brat as Celestia-Light floated by her side. "The war for you, Starlight! Shes trying to brainwash you with all these 'FriENdSHIp leSONs' and distracting you from what you should be doing!" Tirek-Light lifted up a picture of Princess Luna, and showed it to Starlight. Just like what happened hours ago, her heart skipped a beat, and her mind connected. "N-no! Ridiculous! Starlight, you must not give up on your new friends so early! Relapsing this early will only prove ponies like you can never change!" "...It might...but, well...isn't love stronger than...friendship?" She finally turned to the angelic apparition, whos heart sank as the devilish entity snickered. "Yeah, yeah it is! You know what? I'm gonna do it. By Sunday, I'll propose to Luna, and I'll be with Moony soon enough..!" "Thats my girl!" Tirek-Light cackled as the disappointed angel slowly faded out into the air, and her counterpart started to grow to normal size. After a few magical alterations, she looked just like Starlight, but with her old and equal mane-do. "W-wow! We're really doing this now, huh?" Starlight looked on as her clone walked forward. "You know it, Starlight! Now, here is what we're going to do..." The clone levitated the poster Starlight had been working on, shaking it clean off. She put it on her bed, the two taking place on opposite sides. Throughout the rest of the night, they plotted their way to Lunas heart, shrouded in darkness. With enough checking, Starlight assured herself: Nothing could go wrong.
