Gabby flew through the skies with her package in toe, her best friends, the Cutie Mark Crusaders, had asked her personally to deliver a Heartswarming gift to Luna at Silver Showls and she was happy to agree, so now she was flying in the snow to deliver the gift, she didn’t like doing so but anything for her friends
When she finally arrived she felt like her wings were going to break off from the frostbite and the long distance for the flight itself, the workers rushed her inside and gave her a hot cocoa much to her delight
Gabby proceeded to explain “Um I have a package for Luna, do you know where I can find her?”
One of the workers explained “If you want to give something to Luna you should ask her sister Celesta to drop it for you, they usually drops off presents for each other when the other is asleep, you see in spite of no longer being officially a Princess, Luna is still nocturnal, that’s not easy to overcome but she is trying to get on the same sleep schedule as her sister.”
“So where can I find Celesta?” Gabby asked
“She’s usually curled up against the a fire place with a hot cocoa and her favorite book, The Journal of Friendship.” The worker explained
Gabby thanked the worker and went to find Celesta
That was when Gabby saw the most beautiful mare she had ever seen in her life, she was tall, had wight fur, Gabby’s personal favorite part of her was her flowing Pink mane, it heavily reminded her of Princess hair, and then saw the familiar cover of the book the mare was reading and Gabby realized why she was reminded of such and exactly who she was starring at
Celesta!
Gabby almost didn’t recognize her without her Tiara and with her new Pink mane, in Gabby’s personal opinion she looked better this way, she shook her head and took a deep breath to calm herself
“Excuse me, can you drop off a gift for Luna?” Gabby asked Celesta and proceeded to explain “I have a package for her from the Cutie Mark Crusaders.”
“It would be my delight.” Celesta replied as she took the package and left drop it off
“Well I should be going, don’t want to miss the Blue Moon Festival after all.” Gabby declared with a fake smile, she would never in a million years admit it out loud but like all Griffin she didn’t like the Blue Moon Festival (most other Griffins would outright admit to hating the sorry excuse for a holiday) she grimaced when she saw that the snow had gotten worse, she sighed in exasperation, she knew it would only get worse, and griffinstone was as cold as the majority of it’s citizens
“If you want you can stay for the party we’re having tonight.” One of the workers offered
“Oh I don’t want to introduce!” Gabby hastily declared
The worker reassured her “Nonsense, and besides I cannot in good conscience allow you to leave wale the wether is like this, so please stay at the very least for my peace of mind.”
And that was how Gabby ended up staying for the Hartswarming Party, she had to admit that it was way more fun than the Blue Moon Festival, though the competition wasn’t hard to win in favor of Heartswarming, their were Carols she was ecstatic to learn the words to, delicious holiday punch, and so many sweets, and then she once again herd her voice
“And then while he talking, I was thinking to myself ‘I wish I could send you to the moon just to shut you up’ and it turned out I was thinking out loud!” That earned a round of laughter from Celesta‘s audience and Gabby couldn’t help but chuckle as well
Luna who didn’t look much different form the Coronation of Princess Twilight suddenly approached Gabby
“Excuse me, you must be Gabby, the first non-pony member of the Cutie Mark Crusaders.” Luna declared
“That’s me!” Gabby exclaimed cheerfully
Luna smiled as she proceeded to explain “I know as a princess I wasn’t supposed to have a favorite subject but the Cutie Mark Crusaders will always be my personal favorite group, the main 6 are a close second though. I very much appreciate the gift they gave me, my very own Cutie Mark badge.” Much like the one Gabby got from them when they tried in vain to give her a real Cutie Mark
Gabby stated “The Crusaders are amazing at what they do.”
“I full heartedly agree.” Luna declared
Gabby walked around the party and soon bumped into Celesta
“Oh sorry about that I wasn’t looking where I was going.” Gabby apologized swiftly
“It’s quite alright, no harm was done.” Celesta replied with a soft smile and Gabby’s heart melted at the site, her thoughts were interrupted when someone yelled “Look who’s under the mistletoe!”
Gabby looked to see who said that, it was Luna, and she was pointing at herself and Celesta, Gabby’s eyes widened as she slowly looked up, and their was the said plant
The whole room went quiet before every eye looked over at Gabby and Celesta. Gabby felt overwhelmed by all the attention
Gabby didn’t know many Heartswarming traditions but she knew when two ended up under the mistletoe together they were required to kiss, she blushed madly at the thought, she had never kissed anyone before and her first would be with a former princess
Gabby was startled from her thoughts when the party goers started to cheer, "Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!" Gabby felt tense and could tell that Celesta felt it. Her soft gaze landed on Gabby. She felt nervousness before Celesta smiled a little and brightening the room. Gabby’s heart skipped a beat and her legs felt like jelly.
Celesta took Gabby’s face with her Hove and gently and slowly inched forward, Gabby squeaked in surprise before closing her eyes.
After a moment Celesta’s Muzzle was pressed against Gabby’s Beak, it should’ve felt weird, it should’ve felt uncomfortable for all involved, but for Gabby, it felt right, a small part of her wanted to stay like this forever but it was over in an instant
“Wow.” Was all Gabby could manage to say wale in a daze
It took a few minutes for her brain to catch up and realize what happened
Gabby suddenly bolted out with her face completely red in embarrassment, she flew back to Griffinstone so fast she made a Griffin version of the Sonic Rainboom in the process
Back at silver shouls Celesta saw what she would personally call the Sonic Griffin Boom and softly muttered “I want to kiss her again.” She suddenly teleported in a flash
Gabby ended up back home at Griffinstone in record time and sighed in exasperation, she just wanted to forget this night ever happened, but then a flash of light appeared behind her
“Hello Gabby I’m here~” Celesta declared in a singsong voice
“Wha?” Gabby asked confused and blushing hard
“I didn’t appreciate you flying away like that, but I can understand why you did so, I’ve never been in a relationship, never ever thought about kissing anypony, with my Immortality I would’ve out lived any lovers by a large margin, but because I stepped down I don’t have to worry about that anymore, this is the first time I’ve seriously thought about this, sometimes I forget that I deserve to be happy in spite of everything that happened in my past.” Celesta explained
“And I make you happy?” Gabby asked half hopefully half confused
Celesta replied “I’m unsure, we just met today after all, but if you want to see where this goes…”
This time Gabby didn’t hesitate and kissed Celesta, the two didn’t care that it didn’t seem normal for them, it felt right
By the next Heartswarming Gabby had a marefriend in Celesta but for now they enjoyed eachother’s company
