Sunset
I sat on the couch with Lyra, Bon Bon, Trixie and the other three in front of Twilight with our geodes. The others had turned into different shapes too.
“Fascinating,” Twilight mused as she set Applejacks necklace down. “They look identical to our Applejacks, Fluttershy and Raritys elements of harmony. I can sense the tree of harmony in them too somehow, but I’m not sure how or why.”
“The tree of what?” Trixie asked with a confused expression. Twilight’s horn flashed and we all were standing under ground, staring up at a large crystal tree with various symbols on it.
“Oooh!” Rarity said in awe as she stared at it. “It’s gorgeous, darling!”
“This is the tree of harmony,” Twilight explained as she brushed a hoof against it fondly. “It gave me my castle after my home was destroyed and holds our elements. We don’t necessarily know how it came to be but it protects Equestria. We’re under the castle of the two sisters right now in the Everfree Forest.”
I stepped back nervously as my ears flicked a bit. I didn’t entirely like the Everfree Forest. It’s not natural. Apparently the others picked up on it because Bon Bon and Fluttershy looked around nervously as Lyra backed up slightly.
“Relax, it’s safe,” Twilight said and waved a hoof in the air. “I’ve been down here multiple times.”
“It’s not that,” Lyra answered with a frown. “It’s Sunset. If she’s nervous of all people of this place, then it’s a pretty safe bet that we should be nervous.”
“Ah. But yes, all of your geodes have magic that is identical to the trees magic. Somehow, I’m guessing magic leaked from the tree into your world. How, I’m not sure. But I presume if there’s one portal to your world, then there must be more that Starswirl made that we haven’t discovered yet. This is so exciting!”
“But dangerous too,” I pointed out. “Especially if an enemy of Equestria finds it before we do, or any other creature. We don’t know what they would do with it.”
“That is a concern too,” Twilight admitted as my friends looked back and forth between the two of us as we shot back and forth to one another. “So I want to try something. I’m gonna cast a spell on Lyra and the others. I need Sunset in case it goes poorly.”
“Uh okay?” Applejack said hesitantly as Lyra nodded. Twilight’s horn glowed and a purple glow surrounded them.
“What exactly is this spell?” I asked cautiously as Bon Bon looked around.
“You said Lyra represents an element and such. If we can speak to the elements like they did, we can learn more about how they switched,” Twilight explained as two Lyra’s, Bon Bons and doubles of the rest stood next to each other.
“Uh why is Lyra not moving?” I asked nervously and flattened my ears.
“Easy. I put them to sleep temporarily so they wouldn’t feel any potential discomfort,” Twilight explained as I sighed in relief. Last thing I wanted was for them to be injured or worse. “Hello!”
“Hey,” Lyra’s clone said and stretched. “By the maker, this is weird.”
“Got that right,” Bon Bons agreed as she waved a hoof in front of Trixie’s face.
“This is weird,” I muttered as the see through doubles of my friends looked at us. “I’m-”
“Sunset Shimmer,” Lyra interrupted me with a faint smile. “And that’s Princess Twilight. It’s weird having a body. What exactly can we do for you?”
“We have a few questions. Mainly about how you switched bearers and all,” Twilight answered as Fluttershys nodded.
“You best pull up a seat. We’re gonna be here for a while,” Fluttershy advised with a smile.
“Okay.”
“I think I’m going to die from an aneurysm,” I moaned as Generosity chuckled.
“That tends to happen when talking to me,” Generosity admitted as she brushed her blue and pink curls aside. “I don’t leave any details out. Can I go back now? My bearer is getting restless.”
“Yes thank you,” Twilight smiled warmly. We both watched in stunned silence as my friends absorbed the see through versions and Applejack groaned.
“Mah head hurts a bit,” Applejack grumbled as Bon Bon nodded slowly.
“Did you two get what you needed?” Lyra asked curiously as we both nodded enthusiastically. “Do you care to share with the class?”
“So the elements abandoned the human worlds originals because they betrayed their true selves, right?” Twilight asked as Rarity, Applejack and Fluttershy looked down.
“Correct darling,” Rarity whispered quietly.
“So the elements chose new bearers!” Twilight shouted and stood on her hind legs. “Lyra for her fierce loyalty to Sunset and her friends, Bon Bon for generously giving Sunset a place to stay when she needed one when she wanted to think away from home or just an ear to vent to. Trixie, for trusting Sunset and the others. But Fluttershy represents courage now, Rarity is integrity and AJ is determination because well, in both worlds you’re the most determined mare I know.”
“Thanks Ah think.”
“And according to the elements, they created new ones from themselves. The ones the Rainbooms, Trixie, Lavender, Fuchsia and Mom bear. Generosity gave me a headache will all she told us.”
Bon Bon slowly trotted up to me and nuzzled me as I blushed.
“What was that for?” I asked weakly as Bon Bon shrugged.
“You said it’s something friends do here. And you’re my friend so,” Bon Bon answered she nuzzled Lyra. “Feels funny not gonna. Lyra is quite furry.”
“So what do the geodes do?” Twilight asked curiously as Trixie flared a hoof out.
“Sunset reads minds, Trixie can teleport, Lavender turns invisible, Fuchsia can walk through solid surfaces, Applejack is super strong, Fluttershy speaks to animals, Rarity summons weird gems, Pinkie makes things explode, Rainbow is super fast. Lightning controls well lightning and is super fast, Bon Bon doesn’t need to measure or anything when baking or in math class, Vinyl can shout really loud. She knocked some trees over at Camp Everfree with her voice alone. Octavia can tell the future in small parts, Derpy can tell how people are feeling just by being near them and Lyra can levitate stuff.”
“We can only use our powers when we think about it,” I clarified as Twilight continued writing on her papers. “Which is probably why I didn’t see Spitfires and yours memories.”
“Fascinating!” Twilight exclaimed. I quickly teleported us all to the castle and snuck out of the room quietly with Bon Bon and the others.
I love Twilight like a sister, but I wanna go hang out with Adagio and check-up on Spitfire.
