//------------------------------// // Chapter 10: Fausticorn // Story: Resistance is Magic // by ColtKit Productions //------------------------------// "Soooooooo we are officially defectors of the Federation." Tom Paris acknowledged, as the shuttle, containing near a third of the original crewman, flew out of Voyager's shuttle bay.... and sailed into the black... off on their own adventure... However, even those that left had no intention of going back to the Alpha Quadrant... they just wanted to get away from the magicals. "So it would seem," Janeway acknowledged. "We can't go back, too much time has passed... we've changed too much... in too many ways... we don't belong in the Alpha Quadrant anymore." Tuvok considered, "But why is the Delta Quadrant so different. Organic lifeforms, with a Dilithium organ, have never happened in the Alpha Quadrant. But it happens in 1 out of 10 habitable planets, out here. What's different." always the practical man. Not even allowing them to absorb the moment. "That would be my doing." The group froze, as a white alicorn suddenly appeared next to them. Like Celestia, she had a slightly longer face, but dark red hair. Janeway eyed the entity a moment. "You're doing?" she acknowledged. Not allowing herself to be startled. "Well, not mine alone." Informed the Alicorn. "But their were unexpected consequences to my creatures attempts to communicate with your realm. We brought in some of our laws of physics." "You're the Tree of Harmony," Janeway realized. "That's what the ponies call me.. I prefer Fausticorn," She smiled. "That's the name the Dragons gave me. You're own creatures call my kind 'Fae', 'elves', or even 'gods'... although your ancestors denied our request to settle on your worlds... and after the Klingons outright killed their Ambassador, we decided to focus our attention on the Delta Quadrant. "The Gamma Quadrant was just as dangerous. As a different race of interdimensional beings, had taken root in the Beta Quadrant. We were quite fortunate, the Delta Quadrant accepted us, and it's only with the past 26, of your years, that the Borg have taken issue with us." Fausticorn looked Janeway in the eye. Both taking their gaze from the window. "Our realm was dying, We destroyed it ourselves, through what you'd call 'Pollution', and over population. Our realm could no longer sustain us. So my creatures scattered themselves across the multiverse... were there were trillions. "Only a few hundred of us tried to take root in each dimension... the trick being, we had to be invited, before we entered. Not through any Cosmic laws, or something just silly. It was just polite. "We are Refugees, and understood most dimensions wouldn't want us. It may have taken tens of thousands of years, from your perspective, but to us. It was our equivalent of an afternoon. We are ageless entities, after all. I'm several trillion years old, myself... and still considered in my early 20s. "Our realm couldn't handle a race of immortals, each their own pocket dimension. But here? When you fully accepted us, albeit by accident, my whole family was able to get a proper foothold, by anchoring ourselves to your cargo bay. "Since then, We've found others, and attached each to your crew quarters. That's 379 of us... I'm glad to have my little brother back. When Orochimaru sealed you, he sealed him as well... I'd appreciate if you let me teach him how to take a true physical form, within this realm." Janeway sighed, "It's not our place to deny you that." "Actually," Fausticorn frowned. "It is. You live inside him, it's your call if he can come through." Janeway eyed, "Just too be polite?" Fausticorn shrugged, "We are Refugees... much like all the races that call this ship home. We don't want to be invaders, which is why we must ask... "the wizards have been very helpful, as they have expanded our boarders, without risk of injury to ourselves, nor the ship. Normallly, when we get the size of a planet, we split off into two entities. "The wizards have let us push past that, without risk of splitting. It's really quite nice... while it's sad we can no longer have children, it ensures over population won't destroy this realm, as it had our own... a race that can live forever, is truly far to dangerous to any realm."
