Chapter 4: Surprises


Lan wasn't stable. He was just teleported, which isn't pleasant, screamed at, and almost set the town on fire. He's body was vibrating to the point were he couldn't move.

"Can you please calm down, it's ok."

"S-s-sorry i'm j-j-just...."

"Uuuggghhh, here have some water."

Lan gulped it down in one swallow.

"Thirsty?"

"Y-y-yes."

Just then, someone knocked on the door, which caused Lan to shake even more.

"I'll get it!" Spike said. He had been there trying to comfort Lan. Owlowiscious was asleep. He was a owl, not much to care for.

"Well hey there, bout time you got here."

"Where is he?" Said Applejack, and with that voice Lan had shielded himself with his magic.

"You must of scared him. Let me try to help." This voice belonging to Fluttershy. "Now come out of there, were not going to hurt you."

"I would like to say that he isn't a animal, Fluttershy..." Rarity said. "If you need him to come out, treating like such will prove wrong."

"I know but..." Fluttershy stopped. Not much to say now.

"Come on! Get out of there!" Rainbow Dash started to hit the shell as if it was dough. "Hiding won't solve anything!"

'Rainbow Dash! Stop!" Applejack shouted, "That there ain't gonna solve nothing."

"Maybe I should throw him a party." Who else? "Everyone likes parties."

"Actually I don't really like parties, I find them uneasy to be in." The bubble spoke.

Pinkie was speechless.

"Well that solves that. Can you come out now." Twilight felt a little uneasy, this was going to be difficult.

"... No."

"UUUGGGHHH!!! He's so weird."

"Look... i'm not mad at you. I was just shocked and... i'm sorry." Applejack was now shedding some tears.

Just then, as the tear drops hit the ground, the bubble shell evaporated.

"You mean that?" Lan said.

"I do, with the bottom of my heart."

"Thank you."

Gilda wasn't very good at plans. But this one had some impressive things. All she needed now was for no unexpected people to show up. The entire plan would be ruined.

As she hoovered above Twilight's house, she had no idea what was about to happen.

Let's start this thing.

Perfect, just as he had expected, the subject has come out of his shield. He was now vulnerable.

Time to start this thing.

"My name is Lan Jen... Yes, Lan Gin." He couldn't use his real last name, it seemed to obvious. "My mother and father was... Gin makers. I had thought my life being a Gin maker was too bland, so I set off to the real world." Lan had tasted Gin before, what a weird taste it had.

"So Lan, where are you staying?"

"... Um, nowhere. I usually sleep outside." It was true, his father made him sleep outside, of course against his mothers will.

"Well we can't have that now sugercube. How you come to the farm?"

"That's nice but I can't sleep in farms. I get scared. Plus your brother is terrifying."

She couldn't argue with that.

Silence filled the room.

"Why don't you stay with me?" Twilight said. Lan could detect faint blushing.

"Sure, I mean, I like reading. Thanks, now what abo..." Lan stopped. The front door had been blown open.

"Ok, let's do this... wait... who's that guy and whats he doing?" Gilda pondered, then her expression grew from confusion to horror.

"GET BACK!!!" Lan shielded everyone from the debris.

"So I finally found you, lets do this."

Just then, Lan had been pulled from the house, and thrown in the streets.

"Damn'it just what I need!" Lan thought, "Who are you?!"

"My name is Nightwing. And i'm here to kill you."

"What?!" Said Lan and the 6.

"But, why? What did I d... LOOK I SAID I WAS SORRY!!! IT'S NOT LIKE I DID IT ON PURP..." Lan had felt something coming.

Some force threw him in the air, and before Lan could realize what happened, a ball appeared in front of him. On cue, it had exploded. It threw Lan back, his blood now everywhere, and now he saw the seriousness of the situation.

"NO!!!" Screamed Twilight.

"Looks like i'm going to have fun with this." Nightwing smiled, "Time to die my little pony."

Lan couldn't help but mind giggle at that, but soon his giggles turned into fear when he levitated Twilight into the air, next to her a sword made of magic.

Lan took time to see the situation. Nightwing was a pegasus, black with a red mane. Lan pondered the thought how my his name was Nightwing, and stowed it in his memory. It could come in handy.

"Leave Twilight alone!" Dash had said, and both Rainbow Dash and Applejack rushed in, but to be only pushed back.

"Please, like that will help."

"MAYBE IT WILL!!!"

Lan had struck Nightwing where it hurts, and elbowed him in the face, a centimeter from his eye.

"SON OF A BITCH!!!"

"BACK OFF!!!" Lan had force pushed him back with all his might, sending Nightwing far away from his new friends.

"Are you ok Twilight?"

"I should be asking you that."

"I'm fine, I can take pain. Get to safety, all of yo..." Lan was interrupted by Nightwing hitting him in the face.

"Fine, let it be that way." Nightwing enveloped himself in his magic, growing wings right in front of Lan. "Come and get some."

"My pleasure." Lan backed up, "Come at me bro."

Nightwing knew why the boss wanted him dead with that last sentence.

Lan constructed many sharp thin needles with his magic, enveloping him, protecting him.

Nightwing pounced on him, minding the needles as Lan threw each one, scouting their way back to the target.

"SHIT!!!" One of the needles found a path threw the fast pony. "You will suffer for that."

"I think I all ready have this covered, there will be no suffering from me today." Lan smiled. "Look up."

Nightwing did, and saw the reason why he smiled. He hated Griffons.

Gilda pounced on Nightwing, cutting him as they went down.

"DAMN!!!" Nightwing had been attacked from above, he didn't see this coming.

"Leave him alone, he's mine." Gilda smiled as she got off of him. "How you holding up?"

"Good. WATCH OUT!" Lan sprung up, wrapping Nightwing with his magic. He was trapped.

"Now time for payback." Lan was about to crush him, but royal guards showed up.

"Let us take care of him." They dispersed Lan's magic and trapped Nightwing with theirs.

Lan looked around, he just put everyone in danger. He turned around an started to leave.

"Where are you going?" Said Applejack.

"Lan looked at her, "I can't stay here. I'm a magnet for trouble."

Lan didn't know what happened next, all he remembered is the amount of blood he lost.

"Told you, I knew he couldn't do it."

Silence, he's not dead.

"Well, doesn't matter."

Oh but it does. Now if you will excuse me. I have someone very important to talk to. And looks like shes here.

"Wait what?"

"Why hello there, now lets talk about Lan. You said he was a what?"

A human dear, not from Equestria at all. From earth. Let him know that you know about his past.

"I will."
