//------------------------------// // Train Songs on the Rails // Story: Chugging Along the Rails // by Big Imagination E //------------------------------// It was a lovely spring day in Canterlot City and everyone was enjoying the weather. At Canterlot High we see the Rainbooms heading to the principal's office for another mission. Ever since the last one they discovered some singing trucks and were surprised. None so more than Applejack. In fact she kept singing that song 'All the Gold in California' a few times and it hasn't left her head since. They finally arrived at the principal's office and sat down to hear what Principal Celestia has to say this time. "Welcome girls. I have another mission for you." Celestia said. "Ok Principal Celestia. What's the mission this time?" Sunset said. "I got a call from the train station. They kept saying something about the trains acting all weird. They don't know what it is so I need you girls to find out what is and stop it." Celestia said. "So something is happening at the train station? Well we better fix this." Rarity said. "No worries. We'll find out what it is." Rainbow said. So the girls all headed off for the train station. They left the school and summoned their wings and horns and took to the skies. After 3 hours they arrived at the train station. They landed on the ground and found the conductor who was glad to see them. They walked over to him and they smiled. "Oh ladies! Im so glad your here! I really need your help." The conductor said. "Don't worry sir. Were here to help. So what's the problem?" Twilight said. "Well I was busy getting the passengers on the trains cause we had many families coming in. But suddenly I kept hearing some singing. I wasn't sure what it was so I looked around. I was sure that someone left the radio on but last time I checked their was no radio. Then it hit me. Something or someone was singing! And I think it was the trains singing." The conductor said. "So your saying that the trains are singing? Last time it was the trucks singing." Applejack said. "I knew it was gonna be tough for you girls to believe this. Please go take a look and lemme know if you believe me or not." The conductor said. "Ok. We'll check it out." Fluttershy said. The girls left and headed where the trains were coming and going. They all looked around and didn't find anything that to know that the trains are singing. They were just standing there. "So far nothing. I bet this is a prank unlike last time." Rainbow said. "Rainbow. I told you this last time. You can't just say this is a prank if we don't know what else we could be missing." Rarity said. "She's right. Besides I don't see anything that explains why they think the trains are singing. Because I certainly don't hear anything." Twilight said. Then to everyone's surprise as the last train pulled in they started singing!! They were singing about how they were on the railroad doing their jobs every day. Each time they finish a set of lyrics it started going faster. Then they ended the song nice and slow leaving the girls all shocked and surprised. "Well. The trains were singing. I really gotta stop saying the prank lines." Rainbow said surprisingly. "Yes you do rainbow girl. Could have you regret everything one day." A train said. "And their talking. Why am I not surprised?" Rarity obviously said. "Im guessing you girls had this experience before huh?" The red train asked. "Yep. We definitely have. With the trucks last time they were singing a good ole country song." Applejack explained. "Oh the trucks. I wonder what they're up to now and then?" The blue train wondered. "If I saw them now they are probably singing a country song right this second baby." The green train said. "So you trains were singing too? Aren't you afraid that the passengers would get scared on their way to the destination?" Twilight asked. "Nah! They have no idea that were really singing. Plus they seem to enjoy it a lot when traveling." The black train said. "Well in that case can we hear another song?" Pinkie said. "You got it Pinkster!! Ladies? Give them a funky train tune." The yellow train said addressing some pink trains. They cleared their voices and started singing. They were singing as the other trains blew their whistles to the beat of the song. The girls found the song to be quite catchy and started dancing to the music. They loved how groovy the song was and even Pinkie put on a hip hop outfit busting out some moves. They were cheering on Pinkie and the trains for this. After the song ended the girls cheered for them and the trains appreciated that. "Thanks girls. Your a kind audience. Now we gotta get back to work. See ya later." The black train said as all of them left to do their duties. "Well. The trains were not dangerous at all. They just like singing. Same thing with the trucks." Applejack said. "Yeah. I think im starting to see a pattern. What next? Singing planes?" Rainbow said. "If that were to happen the next mission we might have to figure out how this is all happening in the first place." Twilight answered. "Yes. But Twi I don't see anything dangerous going on. First the trucks were only interested in singing country songs and the trains were singing songs on the railroad. I really don't think we gotta stop this. There's no harm done." Sunset said. "I agree. The trains are ok. They weren't causing problems." Fluttershy said. "Alright. Let's head back to the conductor and Principal Celestia and tell them that the trains weren't not dangerous." Twilight said. The girls all agreed and went to the conductor. They told him everything about the trains and he was relieved to hear the good news. Then the girls summoned their wings and horns and took to the skies once more returning to Principal Celestia. Meanwhile we see the trains looking at the girls flying home. "They sure were nice weren't they?" The green train said. "They sure were man. Now let's keep rolling on. We gotta get the passengers to Dublin, Ireland." The red train said. The trains and continued their way to the destination and smiled realizing that the girls were all okay in their books.
