//------------------------------// // The price of loyalty // Story: Dog Of The North Star: Dazzling Drama // by Mariotron //------------------------------// The atmosphere at Canterlot High was electric. The Battle of the Bands had finally arrived, and the tension was palpable. The Dazzlings, with Komasan as their DJ and Jibanyan as a backup dancer, were ready to take the stage. "Are you sure about this, Komasan?" Jibanyan asked, his eyes filled with concern. Komasan looked at Adagio, who was nervously adjusting her pendant. "I have to see this through, Jibanyan. Maybe this is the way to help them change." Aria rolled her eyes. "Fine, the cat can stay. But if you mess this up, you're on your own." The Rainbooms, now joined by Twilight and Sunset, were backstage, going over their plan one last time. "Remember, our friendship is more powerful than any magic they have," Twilight said, looking at each of her friends. Sunset nodded. "And we have to reach Komasan. He's the key to all of this." The Dazzlings took the stage, the crowd instantly falling under their spell. Komasan started the beat, his hands moving skillfully over the DJ set. Adagio began to sing, her voice filled with a mix of confidence and vulnerability that only Komasan could detect. As the Rainbooms began to play, the magic of friendship started to manifest. Twilight and Sunset's eyes met, and they knew it was time. A magical alicorn astral projection formed around them, its power growing with each note. Adagio felt the surge of magic and looked at Komasan, who nodded. This was it—the final showdown. The Rainbooms unleashed their magic, a blast of pure friendship aimed directly at the Dazzlings. But just as it was about to hit, Komasan stepped in front of them, his eyes filled with determination. The blast hit him full force, mitigating some of the damage but still destroying the Dazzlings' astral projections and jewel pendants. The crowd snapped out of their trance, the spell finally broken. Komasan collapsed, his body battered and bruised from the magical onslaught. Adagio rushed to his side, tears in her eyes. "You idiot! Why did you do that?" she cried. "Because...everyone deserves a chance to change," Komasan whispered, his voice weak. Just then, Trixie appeared, a screwdriver in her hand. "This is for ruining everything!" she yelled, stabbing Komasan seven times in the chest, forming the shape of the Big Dipper, before being apprehended and taken away. Adagio screamed, cradling Komasan in her arms. "Someone call an ambulance!" Komasan was rushed to the hospital, his condition critical. The doctors managed to stabilize him, but the scars on his chest would remain forever—a constant reminder of the price he paid for his loyalty. As he lay in the hospital bed, Adagio sat beside him, her eyes red from crying. "You saved us, Komasan. And I don't know how to thank you," she said softly. Komasan looked at her, his eyes filled with a mix of pain and love. "You can start by being a better person, Adagio. That's all the thanks I need." And as he drifted off to sleep, Adagio couldn't help but feel that maybe, just maybe, they both had found something worth fighting for
