After exiting the pipe, the heroes found themselves inside of an underground cave on a plus-shaped area that was completely surround by lava, which was being let in through various surrounding lava falls. This was the heart of the volcano.
"Bwaaa..." The Rabbid 6 said in awe, amazed at how the place look.
"Agreed, this place has 'evil lair" written all over it." Fluttershy agreed reluctantly, not seeing it as a good thing.
"Look at that!" Rarity shouted as she pointed to something that was on a small island that was separated from the main area by the lava.
Everyone looked over and saw that there was a chalkboard which had "Evil Plan!" written in big letters, and in the middle was a crude drawing of the mysterious throne they saw earlier. There were also small doodles of Spawny, and the numerous bosses that the heroes have encountered from the adventure, such as the original Rabbid Jack, plans on how to create Calavera, there was even the Phantom's gramophone!
"Ha! Chrysalis left her evil plan out in plain sight for everyone to see!" Beep-0 exclaimed.
"How lucky!" Pinkie cheered. "We can see exactly what's she's planning!"
"BWAH BWAH!" Rabbid Pinkie shouted in agreement.
"Wait, what if it's a fake plan meant to be a decoy? "Beep-0 realized. "OR - maybe it IS real and she WANTS us to think it's a decoy! Hmm..."
"I dunno, most of the stuff on there is what we've seen before." Applejack argued.
"Even if it was fake, why would Chrysalis even risk-- Wait, who's that?" Twilight asked as she pointed someone who was working in that spot.
They all looked over and saw a Rabbid with spiky, white hair fiddling around with some test tubes filled with glowing liquid at a table. He mixed some of the blue liquid with the green liquid, which turned it orange. He looked closely it, then took some chewed-up gum and added that to it, turning the liquid purple.
"It looks like he's a scientist of some kind." Twilight observed. "He must be brilliant."
However, the mysterious new Rabbid sniffed the test tube, then tossed it at one of the lava falls, causing an explosion that shocked the group. He laughed maniacally as he turned around, where it was revealed he had a small, red bump on his head, showing that he was hit on the head.
"Of course, I could be wrong." Twilight admitted.
"Huh?" the Rabbid said as he noticed the heroes. "Bwa Bwah!" He shouted as he waved hello.
"Bwa Bwah!" The Rabbid 6 waved back.
"He may be a scientist, but he's still mad." Beep-0 analyzed. "So, we'll just call him 'Mad Rabbid', shall we?"
Mad Rabbid laughed manically after overhearing this, showing that he liked the name.
"Well then, what are you doing down here, Mad Rabbid?" Fluttershy asked.
Mad Rabbid scratched his head with a hammer, then shrugged apologetically.
"He doesn't seem to remember." Rarity pointed out.
The team watched as Mad Rabbid placed a plate of donuts into a fridge-like machine he made, then poured red liquid into a tank and pushed a few buttons an a nearby panel. The machine shook around for a minute as electric sparks flew off in every direction before it stood still. Mad Rabbid opened the fridge, and everyone saw that the donuts were now glowing red.
"If I had to guess, he may have had a hand in building this factory." Beep-0 explained. "But I don't think he's evil." He turned to look again at Mad Rabbid, who ate one of the donuts before he burped fire. "Just a little... gifted."
"Either way, we better find Spawny and--" Applejack started, but was quickly cut off as the energy field went up in her face once again. "Wha?! Seriously?!"
Twilight looked behind her and saw the black flags. "Looks like we're in another battlefield. I'm not surprised honestly."
"I know!" Applejack agreed. "I thought my nose had enough of that."
"Not that! The fact that there's a battlefield here! That means we're close! And I'm sorry about the nose again, Applejack."
"No prob."
"Twilight's right, the sooner we get this battle over with, the sooner we can start searching for Spawny down here." Beep-0 explained.
Defeat All - 4 Bucklers, 1 Supporters
Twilight started by activated her M-Power, empowering all the heroes in range.
Pinkie entered a pipe that led to the left side of the battlefield where she dashed a Buckler. She blasted him with her Rocket, which triggered an Ink Effect, defeating him and releasing the energy.
Rabbid Dash got a Team Jump from Twilight and landed in the middle of the battlefield, Freeze Blasting the 2 Bucklers and Supporter that were present. She used her Boombow to blasted the Bucklers, defeating them.
Twilight entered a pipe that led to the right side of the battlefield, where she dashed the remaining Buckler. She then hit him with her Melee, triggering a Bounce Effect that sent him flying, defeating him.
The Supporter used his Heal technique to heal himself, then moved to a full cover that was part of cover set in the back of the battlefield where he tossed a Grenaduck at Rabbid Dash, which exploded and damaged her.
Rabbid Dash quickly dashed the Supporter, then blasted him with her Boombow, defeating him and ending the battle.
The heroes cheered as the rest of their friends rejoined them
"Great work as always, girls!" Beep-0 congratulated the heroes on another victory.
"All the sooner to find that SupaMerge Rabbid!" Twilight agreed.
"Well, if Spawny is down here, we'll find him."
"Down there?" Why not look up here?" Someone asked.
Everyone looked up and saw Chrysalis crawling on the ceiling in an ominous way.
"Chrysalis!" The Ponies shouted.
"The one and only." Chrysalis said as she used her wings to descend from the ceiling and hover above the heroes.
"This chase ends now, Chrysalis!" Beep-0 told the Changeling. "Your misuse of the SupaMerge headset has damaged Equestria too much, and it will only continue to get worse."
"The Super what?" Chrysalis asked in confusion.
"The source of Spawny's powers."
"It doesn't matter where his powers come from. With Spawny by my side, I now have the power to create an army out of anything I wish! Chimeras mixed with Hydras! Cragadiles mixed with Tatzlwurms! Even Changelings mixed with Ponies! But for now, these so-called 'Rabbids' will be all I need to make Equestria my own!"
"Not if we stop you here and now!" Twilight yelled. "Release Spawny immediately!"
"Oh, if you want him..." Chrysalis said menacingly as she took out a remote and pushed the button on it.
Through a hole in the ceiling, Chrysalis' new throne was lowered down onto the battlefield by the chains. And Spawny was trapped in one of its claws!
"Spawny!" Fluttershy shouted in fear.
Chrysalis took a seat on the throne and using its levers and buttons on its armrests, the machine placed Spawny in a hatch in the front. Soon after, the throne took out a large hammer that looked exactly like a cow, it even mooed as it slammed it into the ground! It then posed menacingly as the eyes on the armrests took on an angry look. "Come and get him."
Pinkie couldn't help but laugh at the hammer, and the Rabbid 6 quickly joined in!
"How dare you laugh?!"
"Come on, Chrysalis, you CANNOT be serious with that choice of weaponry." Rarity said while hiding he giggle with her hoof.
"This wasn't my idea, it was THAT imbecile's!" Chrysalis said as she pointed to Mad Rabbid, who watched the previous battle while eat nuts and bolts from a popcorn bucket. "These 'Rabbids' are useful, but they aren't bright."
"That's what I said! I'm willing to bet bits that paint job was Mad Rabbid's idea, too." Beep-0 joked. "And I'm willing to bet MORE that it was also his idea to draw you entire evil plan on that chalkboard over there!"
"Silence!" Chrysalis shouted in rage. "I'll deal with him later." She said as she glared at Mad Rabbid, who gulped his 'popcorn' in fear. "Nonetheless, while this new throne can't steal your magic like my original one, it will certainly get the job done of destroying all of you!"
"We'll see about that!" Beep-0 argued. "Let's take down that Mecha Throne!"
"Yeah!" The Ponies shouted.
"Bwa-Bwaaah!" The Rabbid 6 shouted.
Defeat Midboss - Mecha Throne, 2 Valkyries
Chrysalis started the battle by having the Mecha Throne move smack dab to the middle of the battlefield. It soon released a Sentry that moved towards the heroes before stopping.
The Valkyries each moved to different full covers that were upper corners of the middle of the battlefield. One of them activated her Protection technique that focused on the Mecha Throne, which will allow her to absorb some of the damage dealt on the boss.
Twilight activated her M-Power, empowering all the heroes in range.
Fluttershy activated her Hero Sight.
Twilight entered a pipe that led to the left side of the battlefield, and stop beside a partial cover set the made up the lower corner. She blasted the Mecha Throne which triggered a Bounce Effect, damaging both it and one of the Valkyries. Like a Smasher, this got its attention as the Mecha Throne began to move towards her, however, this caused it to get hit by Fluttershy's Hero Sight 3 times, which defeated the Valkyrie and caused the Mecha Throne to change its target to her as it moved her way, while also destroying on its own Sentry by stepping on it, before stopping to rest.
Rabbid Pinkie entered a pipe that led to the right side of the battlefield, and stopped beside a partial cover.
Fluttershy entered the same pipe, and stopped beside a different cover. She sent a Sentry towards the Mecha Throne, which entered the pipe and exploded when it got in range of it.
Rabbid Pinkie activated her Super Shield, then rapid blasted the Mecha Throne, which moved towards her.
Rabbid Dash entered the right pipe, then got a Team Jump from Rabbid Pinkie and Freeze Blasted the Mecha Throne before landing beside the remaining Valkyrie, where she blasted her.
Applejack entered the left pipe and got a Team Jump from Twilight, landing near the middle of the battlefield. She threw her Boomerang which damaged the Mecha Throne and the Valkyrie, defeating the latter and drawing the former towards her.
Rarity entered the left pipe and got a Team Jump from Twilight before landing in the upper right corner of the area. She blasted the Mecha Throne, which slammed her with its Melee when it got in range of her.
Rabbid Jack moved to the middle of the battlefield and stopped near the bottom right corner. She sent a Sentry towards the Mecha Throne, which exploded when it got in range of it, getting its attention.
Pinkie got a Team Jump from Rabbid Jack and landed near the north end of the battlefield, where she blasted the Mecha Throne with her Rocket, getting its attention as it moved towards her, and slammed her with its Melee, triggering a Burn Effect that sent her running.
Rabbid Twilight entered the left pipe and stopped beside Rarity.
Rabbid Fluttershy entered the right pipe and stopped near the entrance, where she used her Rocket to hit the Mecha Throne, getting its attention as it hit her. She activated her Weaken technique, temporarily decreasing the Mecha Throne's damage.
Rabbid Rarity got a Team Jump from Rabbid Jack and landed in the middle of the battlefield, blasted the Mecha Throne, which hit her with its Melee in retaliation. She then used her Heal technique to heal herself, Rabbid Fluttershy, and Pinkie.
Chrysalis had the Mecha Throne hit Rabbid Fluttershy, then moved back towards the middle of the battlefield.
Twilight moved to a full cover in the bottom left corner of the middle of the battlefield, where she activated her Hero Sight.
Rabbid Fluttershy reentered the first pipe and returned to the starting point of the battlefield.
Rabbid Pinkie entered a pipe that led to the north part of the battlefield, and stopped beside a full cover. She rapid blasted the Mecha Throne, which began to charge towards her, while getting hit by Twilight's Hero Sight, changing its course to her as it slammed her with its Melee when it got in range, triggering a Burn Effect that sent her running while also revealing the full cover to be a hidden Vamp Cover.
Rabbid Rarity sent a Sentry towards the Mecha Throne which stopped halfway through its path. She then moved to the north end of the battlefield.
Applejack ran up to the Sentry and bucked it towards the Mecha Throne, causing it to explode when it got in range. She used her Buck Slam to damage the boss, causing it to slam her with its Melee.
Rabbid Jack moved to the right side of the battlefield and stopped next to the pipe leading to the north side. She blasted the Mecha Throne, getting its attention as it moved towards her.
Rarity got a Team Jump fro Twilight, triggering her Healing Jump to heal herself, Twilight, and Applejack.
Pinkie entered a pipe that led to the left side of the battlefield and stopped where Rarity was previously. She threw Boneless as the Mecha Throne, getting its attention as it slammed her with its Melee when it got in range.
Rabbid Dash got a Team Jump from Rabbid Pinkie and landed next to the pipe leading to the left side of the battlefield. She blasted the Mecha Throne, getting its attention.
Rabbid Twilight went up to the Mecha Throne, and hit it with her Melee, causing it to retaliate and hit her with its own Melee.
Fluttershy blasted the Mecha Throne, getting its attention.
Chrysalis activated the Mecha Throne's Magnet Dance, drawing Twilight, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, Rabbid Fluttershy, Rabbid Twilight, Rabbid Jack, and Rabbid Pinkie. She slammed Rabbid Fluttershy with her Melee, triggering a Burn Effect that sent her running.
Rabbid Dash launched a Barrel Bolt towards the Mecha Throne, getting it's attention as it moved towards her, while also bumping into Applejack and Rabbid Twilight, triggering a Bounce Effect that sent them flying. She entered the pipe leading to the right side of the battlefield and stopped beside a partial cover.
Rarity moved to the left side of the battlefield and threw a Grenaduck towards the Mecha Throne, which exploded and got its attention.
Rabbid Pinkie moved to the right side of the battlefield and threw her Grenaduck at the Mecha Throne, which exploded and got its attention.
Rabbid Fluttershy moved to the starting point of the battlefield, and launched her Rocket at the Mecha Throne, getting its attention as it moved towards her, bumping into Twilight and Rabbid Jack which triggered a Bounce Effect that sent them flying, before stopping.
Applejack activated her Hero Sight, then moved to the right side of the battlefield and stopped at the bottom right corner of it. She threw her Boomerang at the Mecha Throne, getting its attention, which caused it to be hit by the Pony's Hero Sight,
Rabbid Rarity activated her Shield, and moved closer to the middle of the battlefield where she blasted the Mecha Throne, which got its attention and and slammed her with its Melee, triggering a Burn Effect that sent her running, but reduced the damage.
Pinkie threw Boneless at the Mecha Throne, getting its attention as it made its way towards her. She entered the pipe leading back to the battlefield's starting point and stopped next to Rabbid Fluttershy.
Fluttershy entered the pipe leading back to the starting point, then got a Team Jump from Rabbid Fluttershy before landing next to the pipe that led to the left side. She blasted the Mecha Throne, getting its attention.
Rabbid Twilight moved to the upper left corner of the middle of the battlefield where she blasted the Mecha Throne with her Boomshot, getting its attention.
Rabbid Jack moved to the right side of the battlefield and entered the pipe leading to the north side, then blasted the Mecha Throne, getting its attention and slammed her with its Melee.
Twilight quickly ran up to the Mecha Throne and hit it with her Melee, ending the battle.
The Mecha Throne was sent flying back, and it had a worried look in its eyes as sparks flew.
"What the?!" Chrysalis shouted as the controls on her throne were starting to glitch out on it. "Come on you lousy--"
*MOO*
After hearing the sound, Chrysalis looked up and saw that the Mecha Throne had raised its cow hammer over itself. Seeing what was about to happen, the Changeling quickly grabbed Spawny and made her way towards the exit just as the throne slammed itself on the "head" in a comical manner, causing the machine to explode! The force of the machine caused Chrysalis to spin out of control, causing her to drop Spawny.
Spawny managed to grab onto the side of a cliff just as Chrysalis stabilized herself, but this didn't last long as he slipped and fell!
"Spawny!" Chrysalis shouted worriedly as she watched him fall. However, she looked back and saw that the heroes were coming. Knowing she didn't have time to rescue Spawny or face the music, Chrysalis quickly fled the scene.
"Quick, we have to save Spawny before--" Twilight started
"Aww yeah!" Somebody shouted as something fast zoomed up from the bottom of the edge.
The heroes watched as someone did a quick loop-de-loop in the air before landing. The dust settled and revealed a familiar, light blue pegasus with a rainbow-colored mane and tail, and she was holding Spawny in her front hooves. It was Rainbow Dash!
"Rainbow!" The Ponies cheered.
Rainbow set down the dizzy Spawny, and she quickly ran up to the girls to give them a hug. "Did I miss all the action?"
"You missed a lot!" Pinkie answered.
"We've been looking everywhere fer ya!" Applejack said.
"Sorry, I would've got her sooner, but I been dealing with these weird, bunny guys." Rainbow explained. "They put up one hay of a fight though, I give them that!"
"They're called 'Rabbids', and they're our... 'guests' in Equestria" Rarity explained.
"But not all of them are bad, though, we'd like you to meet our new friends." Fluttershy added as she pointed to Beep-0 and the Rabbid 6, the latter of whom were posing heroically. "This is Rabbid Twilight, Rabbid Jack, Rabb--"
"Whoa!" Rainbow exclaimed. "Who's this awesome looking devil?"
"Ba Bwah!" Rabbid Dash exclaimed while wearing sunglasses and shooting finger guns at the real Rainbow.
"That's Rabbid Dash!" Pinkie answered. "She's one cool gal!"
The Rainbows mimicked each other movements, and ending with a hoof/fist bump, showing they'll get along great.
"And this is Beep-0, our robotic expert on the Rabbids." Twilight added.
"Ah, the famous Rainbow Dash." Beep-0 said as he went up to the Pegasus. "And with Spawny, no less! Fortune has FINALLY smiled upon us!"
"Got here just in time to catch the little dude!" Rainbow agreed.
"But we've no time to celebrate - Chrysalis could be back any second. We need to get Spawny out of here, NOW!"
"I thought I've seen her fly off!" Rainbow exclaimed, knowing that something serious was happening with her around.
"Beep-0's right! She doesn't give up THAT easily." Twilight said before turning to Rainbow. "We'll explain everything that's been going on along the way. For now, we're just glad to have you back, Rainbow."
"We'll also have to update your Skill Tree, too, now that you're with us." Beep-0 added.
"Oh! Does it involve--"
"NO!" Beep-0 shouted, knowing she was about to ask about syrup.
It was silent for a moment.
"So, Rainbow, is it true that you thought that you almost caused a zombie apocalypse with cookies?" Beep-0 curiously asked, referring to the "28 Pranks Later" episode, in a nervous attempt to break the ice.
Before Rainbow could answer that question, however, Spawny perked up.
"Stand back! Don't frighten him." Beep-0 quickly told the others as Spawny's vision was too blurry to comprehend his surroundings.
"Right, we don't need him freaking out again." Twilight agreed.
"Spawny! Are you alright?" Beep-0 asked as Spawny's vision cleared.
"Uh huh." Spawny answered, feeling calm now that the excitement has died down.
"Yes, well... we're glad to see you too." Beep-0 told him.
"Did Chrysalis hurt you?" Fluttershy asked.
"Bwah..." Spawny answered regretfully.
"Don't worry, she won't use your powers to hurt anypony else."
"Oh! Ah... well, I suppose you HAVE unleashed a swath of awe-inspiring destruction across Equestria thanks to your reckless handling of the SupaMerge." Beep-0 explained, causing Spawny to feel guilty.
"Beep-0..." Twilight said.
Beep-0 turned and saw the Mane 6 looking disappointed in what he had just said. "Er... um... but as colossal disasters go, this one was... er... not so bad?"
"Yeah, there are often some good things to come from a bad situation." Rarity agreed, trying to help.
"Let's see here um... the positives are... um... Hmm."
Spawny perked up hearing this, excited to know what he did to help.
"Yes! The Sherbet Desert was cool... plus now we all know how to spell 'sherbet' - boy was that a surprise."
"I was sent to a nice, tropical island..." Applejack added, trying to make light of her own situation when this all started.
"You created a tall tower made from building blocks in the Ancient Gardens?" Fluttershy nervously added.
"You created the Phantom, and he sung some good songs!" Pinkie added, earning a glare from Twilight.
Spawny started to feel sad, knowing all of those weren't exactly good things that happened because his powers.
"You brought us all together." Twilight added.
Spawny perked up when he heard that last one, and everyone else looked at Twilight in curiosity too.
"Despite us all getting separated when the Rabbids first arrived in Equestria, we only found each other because we made some new friends during our search to find you, and ONLY by working together as a team, we were able to get that done."
The rest of the Ponies and the Rabbid 6 looked at each other and nodded, showing that they agreed with Twilight's statement.
"AND you created these 6 Rabbids! And they've proven themselves to be great heroes." Twilight added, just as the Rabbid 6 proudly did heroic poses again. "While bad Rabbids were made, good ones were made, too."
Spawny thought about and realized Twilight was right: his powers DID create new heroes that helped save him from Chrysalis.
"It doesn't matter how others chose to use your powers, it's how YOU choose to use them that makes the real difference."
"Twilight's right." Beep-0 agreed. "You were just scared and confused with your new powers, and Chrysalis used that to her advantage so she could try to conquer Equestria again for the millionth time, but you never had a say in wanting to do that. I'm sorry for forgetting that."
"Now that you're safe, Spawny, we'll take you back to Ponyville with us and figure out what to do next." Twilight said as she walked up to Spawny. "Together."
Spawny watched as the Alicorn offered her hoof to him, and after thinking for a moment, he shook it with a smile on his face.
"He's with us." Twilight told the others, who cheered in agreement.
"Now we just need to find a way out of this volcano." Beep-0 said as he observed the surroundings, which the exit from the battlefield had led them to a cave with giant, glowing, blue mushrooms. He spotted another pipe that led further down into the volcano. "This could lead us to the exit. Let's get moving before Chrysalis returns for Spawny!"
The heroes nodded in agreement as they all entered the pipe, with Spawny in tow.
"Bwa Ba Bwah!" Mad Rabbid shouted, bidding the heroes farewell.
