Diamonds of Stardust

Purple Crystal

Trixie galloped to the direction her hat blew in, she was scared she wouldn’t have found it. It was so important to her whole attire as a magician. It’d be completely tragic if it was lost. Her soaked mane was sticking to her face, but she hurried until she arrived at her wagon. Which she used a teleportation spell on it much earlier instead of having it abandoned in the forest during the wolf chase.

She shivered as she walked up to it, it was laying bottom down on the grass, she smiled as she picked it up and put it on her head. Soon Sunrise ran up to her, catching up.

”Have you found it!?” She asked.

”Yep, it just landed near my wagon,” Trixie said with a large grin.

Then there was an awkward pause as Sunrise crossed her arms and gave Trixie an annoyed expression. She was clearly unimpressed.

”I’m talking about the diamond,” Sunrise claimed bluntly. “Silly head.”

”Oh.”

There was a pause…

”No...” Trixie said, a bit of confusion in her voice.

Her hat was felling a bit heavier than usual, well besides the result of it being sopping wet. Trixie curiously took her hat off her head and looked into it as it floated in her magic. She gasped in shock as she saw a large diamond, it was purple and sitting right in it.

”You... okay?” Sunrise asked with concerned.

”Hah! The great and powerful Trixie is about to reveal!” She boasted as she flapped her cape. Trixie put her hoof into the hat and took out the last diamond.

”The diamond!” Yelled Sunrise as she fluttered in the air.

Trixie nodded and used her magic to make a firework explosion in the sky. Finally, this was it, the last piece, Dark Matter was soon to be gone for good. She did it. Soon enough the rest f the squad came running. As they saw the fireworks from wherever they were.

“It was in your hat the whole time?!” Shouted Sunrise in shock.

“You did it!” GC said as she jumped on her for a hug, the rest of the squad except Snowflake joined in, all hugging Trixie in joys, Tiny waited for his turn due to his size, once everyone was away from her he scooped her up in one huge hug.

”Ack- y-yeah-“ Trixie squeaked from the tight hug. “You better not break a bone!”

Snowflake of course ruined the mood, “This is not the time to celebrate, Trixie still has work to do,”

Trixie was suddenly dropped to the ground. She nodded and went into her wagon together the other jewels. To put them together where rain wasn't hitting her.

She smiled as she stood in her wagon with each one in her magic. Rain pattered the windows and water dropped from her fur. Greeting a puddle on the floor. That she didn't really care about at the moment. The floor got wet many times in the past.

While looking at each jewel in her magic, Trixie tried to thing how this worked. A merge spell? She doesn't know one, but won't admit that. Perhaps... She needs to ask. It gave her hints on the way for each location. So why won't it tell her how to put it together. If.., That's what she does with it.

"C'mon! The world is at stake! Tell me what I have to do!?"

Soon enough. Like a liquid seeping through cracks in a wooden floor. Nightshade started to seep in from between the floorboards, into the wagon where Trixie was.

As it softly brushed against her leg. Trixie gasped in shock and held the crystals close to her. She gulped nervously as she shivered.

"What was that?" Her voice shook as she looked around. Yelping as she saw the source.

She hadn’t seen in in days. She thought it gave up or something. Maybe it was satisfied for what it did back in Crystal Empire! But no! It wanted more. But why? Why now?!

Not now, please not now...” [,i]She thought.

Trixie’s body shook as Nightshade moved around her. Frozen in fear, scared to attack. If she minded, she’d damage her belongings. Using her own magic, she made a barrier around herself for some protection.

Except... This wasn't her barrier that appeared. It was different from the one she visioned up and the barrier spell she used. It was meant to be a simple shield in front of her... She was surprised how sturdy it looked.

A bubble shape all around her, but she could breath just fine. It was also purple, also. It didn’t move an inch as Dark Matter touched it. The purple jewel in her own hooves were also glowing slightly.

Soon the purple jewel stopped glowing, the barrier vanished. Before she could do anything she was suddenly blasted away at a high speed. She was basted though a side all of her wagon, her body bounced on the grass before landing on it. The crystals were scattered between her wagon and where she crashed. She heard her friends, including a few other voices who were witnessing this event call her name in shock. Like the CMC.

"Trixie!"

”Tricia!” GC shouted

"Griffin mean Trixie?" Tiny asked

''Ugh, whatever."

“What happened!?” Yelled Sunrise.

”Pony okay?” Asked Tiny.

She heard GC’s voice, “Dude, speak to us!”

Trixie slowly lifted her head and looked around sadly.

”You’re okay,” Sunrise said with a slight smile.

But Trixie looked towards her wagon sadly. It was destroyed, each wall was collapsed and the one she was blasted through was reduced to shards. A large part of the roof sadly leant against the remains of a wall, the floorboards under it were crushed and snapped. The door laid a few steps away from the steps and a wheel sadly laid on the ground.

“Trixie?” Asked Sunrise as she slowly walked towards it. She felt bad, “Oh Trixie... your wagon...”

“The wagon is the least of our concerns,” Snowflake stated.

“Could be worse!” Stardust smiled.

Sunrise growled. “If someone broke your ukulele, you wouldn’t be saying that, would you?”

“Uh… I don’t live in my ukulele…”

Snowflake grunted. “Stardust, you’re being very inconsiderate. Show some empathy.”

GC looked at her and scoffed. “I thought you were a hippogriff. Not a hippo-crite. Get it? Hypocrite?”

“You’re being very rude, young Lady!” She sternly responded with a stomp.

Trixie didn’t respond much. Staring at a random part of her wagon, hyperventilating. One of her best friends, gone… She only put her hoof on it as her eyes watered. She then sighed as tears formed in her eyes. “I’m sorry...” She said quietly. “Trixie shoulder known and protected you, faithful wagon…” she started to cry.

Her wagon was destroyed, first Stardust, well it was like that but she came back. Next was Gumdrop then possibly Starlight and Sunburst... Then Loophole, Sapphire and perhaps Minty... Now her wagon... all gone. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she mourned.

It was so faithful...

Everyone was silent, Nightshade was nowhere to be found. Trixie looked at the damages, she couldn’t believe her eyes. She started to remember that dream back in the desert. In that dream the sky was completely covered, she had all the jewels and her wagon was destroyed, just like in that dream! But unlike the dream the jewels were fine, she picked them up in her magic and inspected them, no damages.

Was that dream foreboding? Was she… a failure?

But the wagon had to wait, she needed to stop Dark Matter. Or she wouldn’t be able to fix the wagon. Without a word Trixie walked to the purple diamond that laid on the grass. She put each jewel on the ground near it, waiting for what was to happen, but to her shock nothing happened. She started to panic, she breathed heavily, it wasn’t working.

Nothing was...

“No, no, no, I-it can’t be!” Trixie shouted in distress as she looked at the jewels on the soaked grass, “Work!”She said loudly,“Trixie demands you work!” She shouted, “Please!? The great and powerful Trixie demands you!”

She couldn’t believe it! The jewels weren’t doing anything. They were finally reunited but nothing was happening! No flash or glow. Trixie sat in fear as the rain pelted her body, she shivered slightly from the wet and cold. Was this it?

”Maybe... you were too late!”Shouted a random pony from the crowd she didn’t even know had formed.“Of course you had to be the one we had to trust!”

Trixie gasped, just like in that nightmare, a pony told her she was too late after her wagon was destroyed. There was a crowd of ponies near her, watching her, they had faces of distress, fear or anger. She got up, in disbelief, there still has to be time!

“No! But- Twilight said the Main Six were-“

”Turned to stone,” Trixie heard a voice.

”Wh-wha?” Trixie looked up to see Sweetie Drops, also known as Bon-bon.

”They used their elements for days straight, stalling the dark matter from spreading! But last night there was a blast and they turned to stone on the spot!” Carrot shouted angrily.

“Woah, with, woah!” GC called out, “Yo! Trixie tried her hardest!”

"She may have a pool of ego...But c'mon!" Scootaloo butted in. She and the CMC were there as they were curious and watched to see what was happening when they saw the firework.

"Yeah... Uh... Why are we defending? Oh yeah! Isn't it generous she at least tried!?"Sweetie Belle exclaimed.

”Well, there’s no hope! We are all doomed and that stupid lazy blue unicorn doomed us!”Shouted some random stallion.

Trixie growled and stepped forward, “The great and powerful Trixie ventured into forests, endured deserts, survived a city, climbed mountains, swam bodies of water and went into a storm just to save the world and this is what she gets?! You- you neigh-sayers!”

”Trixie is right-“ GC was about to say.

”Griffon?! What you- what even are you doing here!?” A voice interrupted. Clearly having a hatred for griffons.

She stepped back, she was about to explain before a tomato was thrown into her face, she wiped it off before being pelted by rotten vegetables. Tiny Yak stood in front of her, ready to protect his ‘friend.’

”Yo! That was uncalled for!” GC scolded.

Snowflake nodded, “That was rude,” she said monotone.

Trixie wasn’t bothered to move. She looked at the jewels, the journey failed. Because she failed. It was all her fault, all that was nothing and Equestria is doomed, it was going to explode and it would be all her fault. She felt a pain in her stomach as she grieved.

A pony shouted, “Look at that fat griffon, ugly and pathetic!”

“Yo!” GC screeched.

Tiny spoke up, “Tiny yak says you-“

”Look a yak! They need everything to be perfect!” Lyra Hearts laughed.

”Well, you’re not any better!” Sunrise scolded only to be called a Spike bootleg.

Tricia felt hopeless and defeat, but during the argument Trixie had pushed a jewel against the other as she looked at them sadly. But as soon as it touched the other, the parts that were touching each other started to glow.

She gasped in shock. Maybe they needed to be touching. Her and her friends were about to be pelted by vegetables, but she quickly protected them with a barrier.

”Stop!” Trixie screeched, “No pony say a word or I’ll tell the princesses of your behavior! You’re acting cruel to my friends just because they are different!”

Lyra spoke up, "Why is that griffin purple?!”

”B-because- Trixie can’t tell you without breaking the fourth wall!I!” Trixie shouted.

“The fourth what?”

A few ’oh’s come from the audience. But another pony soon spoke, “But that’s a griffin, and they are jerks!”

”Not all griffins are jerks!” Trixie scolded, “If it weren’t.. For my great and powerful team then you'd be sorry!"

The audience was clearly confused. Trixie was about to admit something she never thought she'd had to... It was a strange feeling, she didn't know what to call it. But she felt she needed to defend those who helped her om this mission... It felt right.

“If it weren’t for these guys then the great and powerful Trixie wouldn’t even be here..." She looked at the audience and sighed.

”If it weren’t for Gumdrop then... well, it would have taken me longer to get the pink one, and I would have had a few extra injuries... if it weren’t for Sunrise then... uh... I would maybe be more sad... if it weren’t for Minty… Wherever she is… To tell us important info, and if it weren’t for GC for her jokes and pranks then it would have been more boring... If it weren’t for Tiny, I would still be on that mountain, dead! If it weren’t for Snowflake then I would have been a hippocampus’s meal!”

The audience was dumbfounded, Trixie nodded proudly and touched a jewel with her hoof, she had a smug face.

”And guess what?” Trixie explained as she moved the jewels closer to each other until they were touching, “This squad, the Starry Squad is about to Save the day!”

The diamonds started to glow, merge and change shape. Everyone had to block their eyes as it got very bright. Trixie was smiling through, she felt the warmth of the light beating on her cold, wet fur. She had her smuggest expression on as she watched.

The diamonds danced around in the sky, spinning into each other creating a large glow. Everyone needed to shield their eyes from how bright the glow was. Trixie was curious about what, was happening, was this it? Was there going to be a giant laser shooting from it? Or a ball of energy blasting into the darkness getting rid of it?

Trixie thought of many possibilities of what the jewels she collected were doing, was that it? Just needed to bring them together and nothing more? So it wasn’t just some weapon. Trixie was just there to gather them up. She sighed in annoyance, but also in relief as there was nothing and stressful as she thought and she wasn’t too late.

As she stood there with her eyes closed and leg shielding her face she pictured a giant colourful blast of energy shooting Dark Matter. But at that moment Trixie remembered something Stardust said. Stardust had said that she was going to be more powerful after the journey, like she was going to get uncommon powers or something.

Perhaps since Stardust was so young she got her words jumbled, and meant that she would become a famous legend for centuries.
