War from Afar Part 3

In the throne room of Canterlot Castle the Storm King was not happy with the news he has received. "So let me get this straight, I trust you for a simple operation, only for you to, not only fail, but also lose a good majority of my strongest soldiers and equipment I sent here to begin with?" Questioned the Storm King with a raised brow.

Grubber stood behind Tempest nervously as Tempest looked up to the king looking almost defeated. "Yes, our weapons had no effect on the enemy. They had some sort of protective shield surrounding them and the weapons they used were far stronger than anything I'd seen."

The Storm King facepalmed in disappointment. "Well it's like what everyone says, if you want to fix a problem you got to do it yourself." He said as he stood up from his throne.

"Sir, I doubt the scepter would help in that regard."

"Hey, whose the King here who has the power to do anything like give you back something you lost?" Asked the Storm King.

Tempest cleared her throat. "Yes about that, can we at least-"

"First those invaders, then we'll talk." Said the King.

Twilight Sparkle woke up in her cage to hear a strange sound like the one she heard last night. She looked up to see not one but three meteors shooting across the sky from what she is seeing they look like they might strike further away from Canterlot. She then saw Tempest walking with a weapon attached to her side.

"Tempest wait! You don't know what you're doing anymore."

"Don't try this again Princess or you'll be joining the other alicorns in the stone garden." Snapped Tempest.

"But Tempest don't you think maybe just maybe the King could be lying to you. It's impossible for any form of magic to regrow a horn. It's far too complex."

"He wouldn't, he promised me, once this threat is dealt with, I'll finally be whole again."

Twilight slumped down feeling nothing will get through to her.

========================================

Somewhere in an unknown place two lifeforms were talking, a queen and a commander. "This is why we need your help. If this so called King continues, then this world will cease to exist and the water will evaporate from him messing with the sun."

Queen Novo looked down in shame, tears were streaming down her face. "I thought hiding would keep us all safe from him, but all I did was turn us into cowards and I turned my back on a what could've been a savior."

"There is still time. The power you have will make us even stronger, my kind will barely last a few days in this atmosphere, but with the pearl we can last longer and have a stronger immune system."

The Queen sighed and levitated the pearl with her magic. "Very well, just promise me two things, save my daughter and don't make me regret this."

The large headed leader smiled as he picked up the pearl already feeling the small effects of his insides. "Don't worry consider this an opportunity for us to build a bond from both our worlds."

=============================

An even bigger army of creatures were marching through the land with even more airships flying above them. The King grinned from his carriage, feeling confident that this would go his way. He sighed in contempt but he suddenly then saw something ahead through a patch of trees. It was one of the fighting machines.

"Airship 19, charge after that machine!" He yelled into a communication crystal.

Tempest knew what would happen and was about to tell the king when she noticed something. The alien craft was turning away from them and started moving away. Tempest was confused why was it retreating when she saw one take out two ships?

She didn't wonder for long because after both the alien craft and the air ship were out of sight after rounding a cliff side, she heard something over the communicator. "Your majesty... we have a big problem."

"What? Did you find it's two buddies?" He asked with a smug grin.

"No we found it's hundreds of buddies."

The king raised a brow. "Wha-"

"WE"RE OUTNUM-"

BOOM!

The entire army stopped when they heard and saw the explosion. Tempest hopped out and went ahead to investigate. The moment she peaked around the rocky crest of the mountain she couldn't believe her eyes. There, in a valley was, not only a destroyed ship, but were what looked like dozens of these machines hovering in place with what looked like three more approaching from the other side of the valley. She knew she was far enough not to be seen but she immediately retreated. She quickly retreated back and told the king everything. He got up and picked up his scepter. "So it's a big growing army. I'll deal with this."

Tempest hoped he would succeed but deep down she doubts it. He saw the King climbed a mountain and reached the summit and looked down at the alien machines. He then raised his scepter and casted a huge spell on the them all. The whole place flooded with light. As it died down Tempest could make out a huge mushroom cloud. He then heard the king on her communicator. "I cant see with the dust I created, what do you see?"

She went back to where she was and looked through a pair of binoculars at the canyon and tried to see through the smoke to the canyon. She then saw a green glow. The more the smoke cleared the more her fear climbed. She eventually picked up the communicator and gave her King the news. "They haven't even been touched!"

She could hear the Storm King yell out in rage as he retreated back down the mountain to the army. Tempest did the same as her mind came to one conclusion, bombs, magic, and fire. They're like toys against them. More questions raced through her skull. Will she ever get her horn back? Are these aliens trying to erase them? Will she even get out of this alive?
