Dragon's New Problem

by MasaStormyPonez

I Think I'm Going To Die!

The day couldn't have been any more normal as Spike was waking up in his room - just like any other day. Only a couple days before he had aquired wings by gone through a dragon phenomenon called "the molting" and saved Zecora and his crush Rarity from the roc, and was enjoying his new ability of flight. He didn't know what the future was going to hold for him, but he didn't mind.

Spike let out a yawn while walking towards the bathroom to clean himself up. After having a nice shower and doing some other business, he looked himself from the mirror and smiled.

"Looking good, Spikey!" He said to his reflection while flexing his small, hardly noticable dragon muscles. He was now ready to face the challenges of the day!

Suddenly, he heard a weird, faint rumble coming out of his stomach. He looked down and saw his belly vibrating for a second.

"Gosh, I guess I ate too many gems last night!" Spike shrugged it off and left the bathroom, "Better make some breakfast for Twilight!"

Soon he was in the kitchen preparing the breakfast. Twilight appeared next to him and yawned.

"Good morning, Spike!" Twilight asked the little dragon, "Is the coffee ready?"

"Just a second, Twilight!" Spike replied as he was putting fried eggs on their plates.

"Good, because I can't wait!" Twilight chirped, "It just smells so delicious!"

Suddenly Spike's stomach let out a grumbling noise, louder than before. This time Spike felt more pressure inside of him, but didn't know how to react.

Such noise made Twilight let out a chuckle.

"Well, not THAT one, Spike!" She giggled and turned around to leave, "I'll wait in the dining room!"

"Well, that's strange..." Spike wondered for a moment, but decided to get back to his work. But as he was serving Twilight her breakfast, his stomach rumbled once again.

"My, Spike! Sounds like you're VERY hungry this morning!" Twilight remarked, as Spike reacted with a blush.

"I-it's not that!" He replied and held his belly once again, "It feels more like a... Blockage or something..."

"Oh, okay then!" Twilight thought for moment. "Have you tried to... Ahem! Poot?"

"No..."

"Maybe you should go to Nurse Red Heart to check that out!" Twilight was a little worried, "You might be sick!"

"Naah, it's not that bad, Twilight!" Spike rubbed his belly for a moment, "I think I'm just hungry. I'll manage!"

"Mmh! Okay then, Spike!" Twilight replied and sipped from her cup, "But please go to the nurse if it gets any more serious!"

"Sure thing, Twilight!" Spike brushed it off. He had a lot to do that day and didn't want his symptoms to ruin his day.

But it only got worse during the day. Spike had difficulties doing his work at the School of Friendship, as the stomach pain was becoming more and more unberable. The pain he was feeling was sharp, making him feel like his insides were on fire, as if he had burning lava inside of his stomach much like after those times he had magma baths. However, swallowing magma would feel much more pleasent than the pain he was having at that moment.

"Guuuh, my stomach!" Spike whimpered and squirmed. The pressure inside him had increased drastically, but he couldn't get it out even if he tried. He started feeling like he was going to blow!

"I've never felt like this before! Not until I got through that mol-"

Spike suddenly realized the origins of his predicament. It was very likely related to the molting he just had, and he knew just a dragon who could help him!

"Oh yes, Smolder might know!" Spike felt a little relieved and started crawling forward, "I need to find her!"

***

Weirdly enough, Smolder was found in the school library. She was minding her business and looking for a certain book, when she noticed Spike wobbling towards her.

"Oh, hi Spike!" Smolder greeted her friend cheerily, "How's it going after the molting? Feeling different?"

"Well, kinda..." Spike stammered, "There's... This one thing I..."

"What's it, Spike?" Smolder was confused, "You look nervous!"

Spike looked around for a moment, checking if there were anybody listening to them. Then he turned back towards Smolder and whispered:

"It's my stomach! I've been feeling a little... Weird..."

"Stomach, eh?" Smolder replied and smirked, "Well, have you tried-"

"Yeah yeah! I've been pooting!" Spike rolled his eyes in annoyance and blushed, "But... Nothing comes out! I feel like I'm swollen like a balloon! Owww!!"

He grabbed his belly and squatted down as his stomach let out an audible rumble.

"Like a balloon, eh..." Smolder rubber her chin for a moment, "I think I know what to do, Spike!"

"G-good!" Spike was relieved, he knew he could trust a fellow dragon like Smolder. "You know what's wrong with me?"

"Well, duh!" Smolder shrugged and spread out her wings, "But we don't have much time. Come with me if you want to live, Spike!"

"O-okay!" Spike started to feel a little worried. As Smolder was older and more experienced than him, Spike had thought she could explain to him about the illness he had, but instead she was scaring him with death and demanded him to follow her!

Having no other choice, Spike decided to follow Smolder. He spread out his new pair of wings and took off through an open window. Soon enough they had arrived in the school's sports field which was luckily absent of other students.

"Now listen, Spike!" Smolder commanded right after they had landed, "What I'm gonna do next might feel pretty weird. But it's only for YOUR own good! Are you with me?"

"Y-yeah!" Spike replied timidly. He grasped his abdomen even tighter as the pain started to feel unbearable, "Ow, just- Just help me! Please!"

The pain in insides was so intense he was starting to panic. Maybe Smolder WAS right after all, and his life was soon over!

"Oof! Y-you were right... I think I'm going to dieee-e-e-eh!" He grunted shakily, tears forming in his eyes, "Goodbye, Twilight!"

"No, you're not gonna die! Not on my watch!" Smolder said sternly. She smirked and walked behind Spike, putting her hand on his shoulder, "Now bow down!"

"O-ok..." Spike replied, doing what he was told. He wasn't sure what was going to happen next, but he didn't care.

"Good!" Smolder reached out her hand to grab Spike's tail, "Now stay... Right... THERE!"

Without any warning, Smolder yanked Spike's tail so hard it made him jolt!

"Whoah! What the-"

PRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTHHHHHHHHH!!!

Suddenly a loud rumbling noise started echoing throughout the court as Spike let out the biggest and longest flatulence he had ever experienced!

He could only clench his teeth as it was bursting out of his bowels in full force, making him almost pop a vein in his head. It changed in tone at least three times, lasting over 30 seconds until he felt himself empty. Black smoke started coming out of his butt, as if it was an erupting volcano.

He sighed in relieve after it was all over, immediately feeling ashamed for breaking wind in front of his friend, a female one on top of that!
He turned his head towards Smolder, who took a long whiff of the smoke he had produced, as if reveling in its stench. For some odd reason, she seemed to enjoy it!

"Golly gee, Spike!" She blurted out drunkenly, "I can almost taste it!"

"Oh man! I-I'm... I'm so sorry!" Spike stammerd. The pain sure had finally gone away, but now he was embarrassed beyond believe!
"I... I pooted!"

"Pooted?" Smolder asked back with a smirk, slapping Spike on the back, "That was a friggin' fart! A royal ripper! Honey, I soiled myself!"

"Umm, did you?" Spike asked in confusion.

"Hah! Of course not, dummy!" Smolder rolled her eyes, "What you just let out was a 'dragon wind!'"

"Dragon wind?" Spike had never heard about anything like that.

"Yeah!" Smolder explained, "We dragons can breath fire thanks to the gas that's produced in our system. Once we go through the molting, the amount of gas increases as we get older. And if that gas doesn't get burned every now and then, it can create a feeling of painful constipation you just felt."

"Oh! So it's pretty normal?" Spike was starting feel relieved.

"It sure is, Spike!" Smolder smirked, "Bet you don't breath out fire that often! You should! Feeling any better?"

"Umm... Yeah, I guess..." Spike said and rubbed his belly, "So, I'm not really going to die?"

"Nuh-uh! It's nothing lethal, but it hurts like heck!" Smolder reassured, "Sorry if I made you worried, buddy! I was too tempted to pull a prank on you!"

"Nah, I'm just glad it's finally over!" Spike replied and smiled. He was already feeling better as the pressure inside of him was all gone. "Thanks, Smolder!"

"Don't mention it, Spike!" Smolder grabbed Spike under her elbow, "We're dragons, remember! We should always stick together, no matter what! You can ask me anything!"

"Mmmh, I'll remember that!" Spike nodded, "I guess I still have a lot to learn about my kind. You're pretty smart, Smolder!"

"Naah, I've just been around Ocellus WAY too long!" Smolder replied and shrugged, "Boy, that changeling sure is a geek for this kinda stuff!"

Spike and Smolder laughed for a moment, deciding to leave the stadium. But before they could take off and fly, they saw a pair of fire fighting ponies trotting towards them with hoses in their hooves.

"There was smoke coming from here!" One of them said sternly and looked around, "Where's the fire?"

The young dragons glanced at each other. Spike blushed in embarrassment, while Smolder just shook her head and chuckled:

"Sorry, pal! There was no fire! Just a gas leak!"

-The End-
