The group of ponies then started creeping and searching around the library, making sure they wouldn't make any nosies that could lure the blind monster towards them, but when they looked from the distance, there were endless and endless amounts of books it seems, and it would take forever to find the right one that holds the key code
"That's a lot of books!"
Twilight then added a remark that made the others from the group roll their eyes.
"You know, if I we weren't being chased by a Monster, I think I would enjoy this room quite a bit"
"We know Twilight, but, how do we know which one has the code?"
Then, once again, the guiding blue light appeared in front of them, and it pointed them towards a direction to go to, and when they reached there, it highlighted a particular book that was on the shelf, and when Twilight opened the book, she found that it had a piece of paper inside it, and written in it, was the number "9", Twilight figured out that this was just a part of the code then, and that meant that they had to search in other books around the area.
"Oh great, there are different pieces of paper scattered around this library in different books, just great"
Tempest then made a suggestion
"Let's check the door lock's chain, and see how many we need to search for"
"Good idea Tempest"
The group went to the door lock, and Flash Sentry checked how many number switches were on the lock, and found out that there were five, they already had one of them, which meant that there were four more that they had to search for around the area.
"We need four more!"
Starlight then made a suggestion for the whole group, and gave them a plan.
"I'll stay by the lock while you guys tell me from a distance what the codes are, just in case the monster is too close"
"Good idea Starlight, but please be careful that you don't get caught by that blind monster"
"I'll try my best Trixie"
Then, the guiding lights started pointing towards different areas of the library, which meant that the group, had to split up to search for the other codes.
"Girls, I think we have to split up for this one"
Twilight then came with the plan for the others
"Okay, Trixie, you go and get the one that is being highlighted at the center, Tempest, you get the one that is on the far left, Flash and Sunset, you two get the one on the far right, and I'll get the one that is right behind me, everypony got it?"
All the ponies from the group then nodded.
"Okay, please be careful, I really don't want to lose any more of you, let's get this over with"
Flash and Sunset headed towards the far right of the Library, and when they arrived there, the light shined on one of the books, but as they were about to get it, the Monster was looking right around that corner trying to hear any sounds, it was right in front of Flash Sentry, and he tried his best to stand perfectly still and not make any nosies to make sure the Monster didn't spot him, meanwhile, Sunset was able to sneak behind and grab the book, and then the piece of paper that was inside it, and safely move away, and finally after a little while, the monster stopped looking around that area and went someplace else, leaving Flash to give a sigh of relief as he joined together with Sunset again.
"How did you do that?"
"Do what?"
"I mean, stay perfectly still like that? If I tried doing something like that, I would sneeze or trip after a few seconds"
"Well, I am a royal guard, and standing still is a part of the standard training that comes with it, glad it has become really essential here, If we do manage to get out of here, I could teach you and the others how to do it"
"Yeah, I'd like that"
Meanwhile, Trixie was looking for her book that was in the center of the Library, but she hesitated from grabbing it, cause she heard the monster was nearby here, perhaps just a bookshelf behind here, but then, as the monster stopped making nosies around her, she knew that meant the coast was clear, and she grabbed her book and got out the piece of paper that was inside, and then headed back to her area.
While also in the meantime, Tempest was looking for her book on the far left, and she managed to grab it, and get the piece of paper that was inside too, but then, the monster noticed her from the distance by the noises she made.
"Shit, not now"
Tempest started running away, but on her way, she noticed a closet that was just a few meters ahead of her, she then went inside it just before the monster came to the area, and as the monster started searching the area, Tempest started breathing heavily cause she could literally see it in front of her in the small light holes, finally after half a minute, the monster stopped searching throughout that area, and Tempest was able to leave, as she got out, she went to the lock, and met up with Starlight, and a few seconds later, Sunset, Flash and Trixie also returned with their pieces of paper.
"Okay, does everypony have a piece of paper with a code number on their hooves?"
"Yes, all good here"
"Wait, has anypony seen Twilight?"
"Yeah, I wonder what is taking her so long, maybe we should check up on her"
The group of ponies then went to the area that Twilight said she was going to search, after a little while of creeping around, they found her in that area, but in a pretty difficult situation, they noticed she had the piece of paper from the book that she had found, but she couldn't leave because she was trapped by the Monster looking around the area constantly, so, she couldn't just leave or else the monster would notice her, and catch her for sure, Flash tried to whisper to Twilight to ask her why it took her a while.
"Twilight, why did it take you so long?"
"Well, I was on my way to get the book and the piece of paper, but then I saw all these ancient books around here, and I couldn't help myself but read a few of them until I got the book, I guess I didn't think the monster would show up and corner this place like a hawk.
All of the other ponies then face palmed, and Starlight tried her best not to yell, but it was pretty difficult to hide her frustrations on the Alicorn.
"Are you serious? Twilight, this is not the time to research and look for ancient books"
Just then, the Monster started heading towards the path that Twilight was on, and it was leading to a dead end, Twilight was now trapped with nowhere to go as the Monster started closing in on her, Twilight started having heavy breathing and almost looked like she was about to have a panic attack, which made the monster move to her spot even faster, Trixie tried throwing a book to distract the monster out of there to give Twilight a bit of breathing room, but the monster didn't go for it, and was still heading for Twilight, they couldn't let this monster take away the ruler of Equestria and one of their best friends, they knew then, at that moment, a Sacrifice had to be made, and Starlight, did not hesitate to stand up for her friend, and taunt the monster.
"Hey you! Where did you get that face from? The Butt Factory!?"
The monster then instantly turned around towards Starlight's direction, and then it started chasing her as Starlight screamed and tried running away, meanwhile, the others helped Twilight escape from that area, and they started to try to unlock the lock with the code.
"Okay, what's the code?"
"It's 9-4-3-5-2"
"Okay, hurry up!"
Then, as Starlight was running away, she then got trapped and cornered by the monster, and she started breathing heavily as the monster was right in front of her, then, Starlight closed her eyes as the monster grabbed her, and she immediately vanished into a mist and thin air, and the others saw the whole thing unfold in the distance.
"No! Starlight!"
"My best friend!"
Twilight and Trixie then started crying again, and were again, in a state of paleness, like they had seen a ghost, while Flash, Sunset and Tempest knew they still had to try to unlock the door and now was not the time to have any mourning or crying sessions, after a few seconds, Sunset managed to unlock the lock with the code, and the door to the next hallway then opened.
"Got it!"
"Go, go, go!"
Flash, Sunset and Tempest then helped Twilight and Trixie up and got them along with themselves past the door, and then they closed it behind them, giving the group a bit of breathing room for the time being.
