Episode 2: A New Beginning and New Arrival Part 2;


Sonic X US Dub Announcer: Previously on Sonic X Frontiers! 2 years have passed since Shining Armor moved to Ponyville after being relieved of position of Captain of the Royal Guard passing it onto his former 2nd in Command Shield Wing. During that time Eques’s technology took a dramatic leap reaching 21st Century technology with an advanced, high skilled and trained, and technological equipped military. Shining on the other hand took over as librarian of Golden Oak Library aka Twilight’s old home before she ran away from home keeping up to date and upkeep. Shining was soon visited by Shield who was now married to Cadence and the two had conversation about what’s been going on with each other since Shining left Cantalot over dinner as a new military base was being constructed in Ponyville. Shining revealed to Shield that he hadn’t found Twilight yet only getting loose pieces of information about her whereabouts. But soon Shining was given a reinstatement form to rejoin the Equestrian military and after some deep thought Shining accepted the offer and a few days later with the reconciling with his family that felt ashamed of throwing him out their home when he was suffering Shining boarded a train bound for his new deployment in Fort Blizzarton. 

Meanwhile on Mobius several months have passed since Sonic and his friends returned from space after defeating the Meteriex alongside bringing the Chaos Emeralds back with them. However, during those months Eggman and his robots were up to their usual plans in taking the world which was happening now as our heroes tried to stop the devious doc’s newest scheme in using the Chaos Emeralds to take over the planet. But things soon spiraled out of control when Sonic sent one of Eggman’s robots into the machine containing the Chaos Emeralds and accidentally induced Chaos Control sending our blue hero and his friends alongside Eggman, his robots, and Eggman’s new base to a new world. However this time Sonic was transformed into a blue pegasus stallion and crashed into a frozen lake not far from Fort Blizzarton, but was rescued by Shining and his new comrade of his new platoon Ice Mist who were ice diving in the lake to check a underwater sensor placed in the lake. Sonic was taken back to Fort Blizzarton for medical treatment and after waking up from his sleep and showing off his reflexes in his new form in a fight with a comrade of Shining’s and his squad in a different platoon the two stallions became fast friends. Little did Sonic nor Shining knew was that Twilight during this time was captured and being experimented on by humans from a different world alongside strange creatures with elemental powers. The smart unicorn pony managed to make daring escape from the secret base that her captors have built in the winter landscape knowing that she would tracked down by her captors and be recaptured! Can Sonic and Shining save Twilight from her pursuers? And kind of plans do these mysterious captors have in store for Twi? Find out now on Sonic X Frontiers!

Location: 5 Miles Northwest of Fort Blizzarton; The next day;

Sonic was shivering in the freezing cold as Shining and his platoon were doing some training exercises. The blue blur was wearing standard military cold weather gear including a uniform with digital winter camo on it. Sure the blue blur was use to cold weather, but the temperature was another story. He felt like he was in the North Pole right now. Not only that he was not used to waking up at military time especially their wake-up calls.

The training exercise that Shining and his platoon were doing was some simple ambush tactics in winter like conditions. They did a number of drills over and over the same drill over and over again until they finished said drill before they moved onto another one which the platoon did a couple of rounds until they at last they finished their training exercises for the morning as Forest Rush said to his team, “Ok! That’s enough for right now. Let’s head back to base and warm up.”

“Great! Can’t wait to get back to recreational room back at the base and relax a bit!”, called out Sharpshot as he was already freezing his wings off already.

Soon Shining looked at Ice who was already packing up her gear in her military saddle bags with her magic and asked her with a curious look on his face, “So what are you going to do when we get back to base Ice?”

Ice glanced at Shining and before looking back at her saddle bags and her weapon as she continued put her stuff up before the unicorn mare said to him, “I’m going to do some diving in the pool. A nice dip in water helps me relax.”

Shining nodded in reply and until he saw Sonic looking at him who had gotten use to the cold by now, but not much as he said to the unicorn stallion shivering a bit, “Um… c-c-can w-w-w-we please g-g-g-go now Shining? I’m fr-fr-fr-freezing off my new tail here in this weather!”

Shining had to agree with Sonic as he said to the sky blue pegasus stallion understand what he was talking about, “Don’t worry Sonic we’re leaving right now.”

The blue stallion let out a shivering sigh of relief as the team finally got their stuff together and headed back for the Snow Crawler that brought them here. However, this training mission was about to change quickly real soon. 

The platoon was about to go back in their vehicle to head back to Base when Sonic who looked behind to see if nothing was following them noticed something in the distance. He couldn’t make it out, but it looked like a figure of a pony and was moving towards them. The former blue hedgehog hero soon said to Shining and to his platoon as the unknown figure was getting closer to them, “Uh guys… I think we got a visitor!”

Shining, Forest, Ice, Sharpshot, and Sky Drop quickly turned around and saw the figure walking for them. They quickly readied their weapons and aimed at the figure with their magic or their forelegs as Forest Rush yelled at the unknown figure, “HALT! THIS IS COMMANDER FOREST RUSH OF THE EQUESTRIAN MARINES’ 23RD REGIMENT! IDENTIFY YOURSELF!!”

The figure didn’t respond as it kept coming as the platoon readied for a fight as did Sonic who had his forelegs bent in a ready position and had his new wings open itching for a fight. Even though they had no idea who it was they would still need to be on their guard. The last thing they needed was getting taken by surprise by some new enemy that the Equestrian military had no info about and thanks to the snow and wind it was hard to tell who or what was coming towards them.

Everyone was on edge as the figure got closer until Sonic noticed something else about it when it stumbled a bit and tried to stay up. Whoever it was he or she were pretty tired and worn out. However, who else would be in this kind of weather in the first place.

It wasn’t long the figure got closer and to the group when they heard a female voice say to them pleading for help in a tired and pained tone, “Please… somepony help me.”

Sonic and the rest of the platoon didn’t recognize the voice all except only one in the group. That was Shining and he knew that voice from anywhere as his face gained a shocked and concerned look on his face. The voice belonged to a certain unicorn pony that had been missing for two years and the one that Shining had been searching for since the Changeling Invasion. 

“Twily?!”, shouted Shining in disbelief as the figure came into view at last and to everyone shock and disbelief it was Twilight still wearing her gown and was freezing cold with a very tired look on her face as if she had been running for several hours from something or someone. Everyone including Sonic knew there something was very wrong with her especially with her physical condition. How did she end up like that?

Twilight looked up and saw her older brother as very weak yet relieved look formed on her face saying to him, “Sh-Shining… thank goodness…”

Suddenly the lavender unicorn stumbled about to collapse and Shining quickly dropped his gear including his weapon out of his magic’s hood running for his sister catching her in time. Once she was in his forelegs he exclaimed to Twilight with a very concerned and a bit scared look on his face, “Twilight what happened to you?! Who did this?!!”

Twilight opened her eyes weakly and said to her older brother saying to him in a weak reply, “They… experimented on me… trying to know how unicorns and other Equestrians live and function. They know where I am… you and everypony else have to get away from here before it’s too late…”

Shining was now confused on what Twilight was going on about. Who was they? And did she meant get away before it was too late? He soon found out when a cyan color aura surrounded Twilight and was lifted into the air by some unknown force and lifted towards the direction of where Twi came from. Then like on cue the wind and snow stopped revealing humanoid figures wearing military winter gear with creatures that didn’t look anything that Sonic or Shining’s platoon had ever seen before. Soon Twi was lifted into one of the beings arms which seemed the leader which had a yellow mouse on its shoulder while an oddly colored owl of some kind was flying behind them and it’s eyes were glowing in the same blue aura that held Twilight in its grasp as Shining yelled in horror, “NO! TWILIGHT!!”

Sharpshot and the rest of the platoon saw the unknown visitors and creatures before saying to everyone as Sonic got into a fighting stance, “Uh I think we found our culprits guys!”

Sonic looked back at Sharp and said to him with a roll of his eyes and an annoyed look as they were presently under attack, “Geez Sharp you think?!”

Twilight tried to resist her captors, but one of them placed an inhaler mask over her muzzle as a sedative was administered to her and made fall sleep before the mask was taken off her muzzle. Then the leader of the unknown pointed at the group as the rest of the group nodded as they pulled out strange red and white ball like objects and enlarged them thanks to a white button on the front. Soon they threw the balls into the air and opened up accompanied with a strange sound as neon blue streaks revealing more creatures these comprised of a large red bug standing on two legs with sharp pinchers, yellow colored eyes, and sleek like wings, a strange white with forest green creature that looked similar to a large tree, but was able to walk and had purple colored eyes with its arms crossed, two four legged black and grey colored canine creatures with red colored eyes growling and snarling at the group like military dogs, another four legged creature this one was blue and yellow with body features looking like it can use electricity or even lightning itself, and the last one was a bipedal figure that was red, grey, and yellow with blade like features on it even with a bladed like helmet of some kind on its head. All of them had strange yet advanced gear on their heads and over their eyes like what marines wore somehow connecting with their handlers and they looked like they were wanting to fight. The red insect creature opened its pincher like hands and said to the Equestrian military platoon, “Sizzor!!”

Shining, Ice, Forest, Sky and Sonic looked back at Sharp as he gulps in fear as they were in deep trouble now. He had to open his big mouth! All that Sharp said was a meekly reply saying, “Me and my big mouth…”

Soon the strange humanoid handlers of the creatures pointed at the group as the strange animals charged for them exclaiming, “SIZZOR/MAGNETIC/RAHOOOO/ABAMASNOW/BISHARP!!!”

Sonic who knew this was trouble called to everyone in Shining’s platoon as he readied for the coming fight, “Here they come!!”

The red bipedal insect creature opened up one of its pinchers and started to build up energy inside it before firing the energy like beam of orange energy at the group. Sky Drop soon exclaims to the group as the attack was coming at them, “WATCH OUT!!”

The group of equines jumped, opened their wings of the pegasi, or leapt out of the way just in time as the attack struck the ground where they were once standing. A powerful explosion erupted from where the attack landed causing snow and black smoke to rising into the air. Sonic, Sky and Sharpshot who made it into the air in time looked at where they were just moments ago and the former blue hedgehog hero said to the two pegasi with shock, “Whoa!! What kind of an attack was that just now?!”

Sharpshot looked at Sonic and said to the blue blur knowing this wasn’t magic or technology they were dealing with, “No clue Sonic, but I think we’re dealing with something else entirely!”

Sky Drop looked down at the snow covered ground seeing Forest and Ice holding off the other attacking creatures who were using attacks that weren’t magic based. Ice was facing off the living tree creature which was using its right hand in a glowing green color. Forest on the other hand was fighting the bladed creature with his combat knife while the bladed creature was using an attack that made the sharp blades on its hands glow in a metallic silver color. The pegasus noticed that Shining was missing among the carnage and said to the two pegasi stallions, “Wait! Where’s Shining?!”

Sharpshot looked down at the fight and said to Sky Drop as he couldn’t see the white unicorn stallion, “No clue! I can’t see him in all this mess!”

Sonic looked around and saw the white unicorn stallion making a charge at the being that was holding Twilight as yelled to Sharpshot and Sky Drop, “There he is!!”

Sharpshot and Sky Drop looked down at the ground and saw Shining as well as their teammate was making a run at the being and rescue Twilight. Shining been looking for his little sister for 2 years and wasn’t going to let some unknown beings take her away from him. As he got closer to the mysterious being leader with the yellow mouse on his or her shoulder the unicorn stallion yelled at the being, “LET MY SISTER GO YOU CREEPS!!”

Shining readied his horn and fired a blast of magic from it trying to hit the being, but the being nodded to the yellow mouse who responded back by saying to it, “Pika!”

Soon the yellow mouse creature jumped into the air and yellow electricity began to spark from its red circle like cheeks, “PIKAAAA-CHUUUUU!!!”

The mouse fired off a blast of electricity at Shining’s magic blast which streaked through the air like lightning. The two attacks slammed into each other pushing back and forth against each other before an explosion happened blinding Shining for a bit as he shut his eyes blocking out the smoke. Suddenly the yellow mouse charged in through the smoke as its tail glowed becoming a metallic silver and jumped into the air yelling at Shining and swung its tail at the unicorn stallion, “CHUAAA-PIKA!!”

*SLAM*

“UGH!!!”, exclaimed Shining as the strange attack landed on his right side and the force of the  attack sent him flying out of the smoke cloud. Noticing this Sonic quickly flew down and caught Shining just in time as the white stallion slammed into him acting like a buffer to slow down the impact.

Sonic quickly flapped his wings hard into the opposite direction to push back against the force that sent Shining flying. It took some difficulty, but Sonic managed to stop and brought Shining to the ground putting him on his hooves and said to him with concern, “You ok Shining?!”

Shining opened his eyes and looked at Sonic before saying to him in a bruised tone, “Yeah… I’m good Sonic! Just got hit in the right side is all.”

Sonic nodded back at Shining in agreement as the smoke cleared showing the yellow mouse looking at the two stallions ready to deliver another attack. The former blue hedgehog knew at once this mouse was a though one, so he got in front of Shining and readied his Sonic Boost attack when the leader of the unknown attackers made a motion with his hands telling the members of his team to call off their creatures. They did so pulling out the strange red and white balls with the white buttons in the center of them. Soon red lights shot out of the balls at the strange creatures except the yellow mouse who went back to the leader. The other strange creatures vanished in the red light and went back into the balls before the attackers put their balls back where they got them. They soon began to walk back towards hummer like vehicles with advanced snow treads equipped on them taking Twilight with them!

Shining saw this and exclaimed in horror as these attackers were taking his sister away from him, “NO!!! GIVE MY SISTER BACK!!”

Sonic, however, knew what the unicorn stallion was about to do as he yelled to Shining, “SHINING NO!!”

But Shining didn’t hear the blue hero as he suddenly charged at the unknown group just as the leader said something the yellow mouse to attack the unicorn stallion. The yellow rodent nodded in agreement before jumping off the shoulder of the leader and yelled out loud as it charged up electricity in its cheeks again, “PIKAAAA-CHUUUUUU!!!”

The yellow mouse let out another blast of electricity and this time it scored a direct hit on Shining as he stopped in his tracks and screamed in pain, “AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!”

Once the attack stopped Shining fell forward and flopped to the ground with a heavy thud before the mouse went back to the leader and mysterious group went back into their vehicles with Twilight in their grasp. As they started up their vehicles Forest looked up at Sky Drop and yelled at him knowing they had to find out where they were going with Shining’s sister, “SKY! THE TRACKER!”

Sky Drop who looked down at the Sargent Major nodded in reply as he pulled out an advanced magnetic tracking device that was shaped like a curved rectangle out of one of his vest’s pockets with his left foreleg. He then threw it at on one of the vehicles as it latched onto to top of the 1st vehicle as it activated automatically as it made contact with the unknown vehicle. Soon the 3 vehicles raced away from the military platoon kicking up snow and blinding the group as they were now gone.

Soon Sky Drop, Sharpshot, and Sonic landed on the ground and looked at Forest and Ice as Forest said to Sky, “Did you get a tracking device on one of their vehicles Sky?”

Sky Drop nodded in reply and said to Forest, “Sure did Forest. We’ll know for certain where they’re going now!”

Sharpshot, however, didn’t agree with that notion as he exclaimed to Forest as they weren’t going after their unknown attackers who had captured Twilight, “I don’t understand?! Why aren’t we going after our attackers or trying to rescue Twilight right now?!! She needs us now!”

Forest Rush looks at Sharpshot and said to him sternly knowing he was right, but they had a different problem that needed immediate attention, “I know Sharp, but we have a bigger problem right now that needs tending to!”

Soon everyone heard Shining moan in pain as he laid on the ground completely shocked from that electrical attack that the strange mouse did on him moments ago. It was clear what Forest was talking about as they needed to go back to base and regroup, but also take care of Shining. Who no doubt was hurt thanks to that strange attack he took head on.

Soon Sonic and Ice rushed over to where Shining was right now as the former blue hedgehog said to the unicorn stallion with concern, “Hang in there in buddy! We’re going get you back to base right now! Just hold on!”

Shining opened his eyes and looked at the sky blue stallion as he wanted to say something to Sonic. However, that wasn’t the case as Shining’s vision started to swim just as Ice yelled something to the rest of the platoon. He couldn’t make out what Ice just said as everything went black and silent as Shining slipped into unconsciousness.

Location Unknown;

Shining opens his eyes and finds himself in a vast empty space where everything was black with no one else with him. As he looked around his surroundings he called out loud hoping someone would hear him, “Hello? Anypony or stallion here?”

No reply came indicating that Shining was all alone in this place. He began to walk forward and could only see nothing except a vast black expanse with only the sound of his hooves and his own breathing. What was this place and what was Shining doing here by himself?

He kept walking until Shining heard slow muffled breathing, a futuristic electronic beeping, and a few other sounds surrounding him like they were coming from all around him. Then Shining felt something from the left as he looked to his left and saw a futuristic door to an advanced operating room as the sounds seemed like they coming from that door. The white unicorn stallion gulped and walked towards the doors knowing whatever was on the other side was making those sounds. As he reached the doors Shining pushed one of them open and walked inside as the door closed behind him.

On the other side of the doors Shining saw an operating room that was straight out of one of those science fiction comic books he used to read as a colt. The entire room was a bit large with a futuristic and outer space feel to it as it had a floor that had a smooth light blue colored floor with a metallic sky blue colored walls. The center of the room had 3 futuristic lights turned on shining pale blue colored light down at lab/operating table which was in the center. A surgical blue sheet was over the table with something under it as wires and hoses from different machines went to the covered object. 

Shining noticed a few of the machines were ones he recognized from hospitals like the heart monitor, IV lines hanging from metal polls, and an anesthetic machine which had light blue colored hoses connected to the machine with a black breathing bag that was growing and shrinking with each breath it was taken. However, there was a machine that Shining never seen before as on the right side was a futuristic machine the same size as the anesthetic machine, but it had two pumps installed on it, black hoses that were connected to the machine, a large clear container next to the main console of the machine showing a magenta colored liquid being pumped into the contraption with a very small amount collected. A longer black tube went from the machine to what was under the surgical blue blanket and the hose was bulging. Was this machine extracting something and what exactly and why did that color liquid look familiar?

Shining looks towards the cover object on the OR table and walks over to it going on its left  side before putting his right foreleg on the top of the blanket. The white stallion then slowly pulled the blanket down from the top of the covered object and saw what it was underneath as his eyes went wide, his coat and mane went pale, and shocked and horrified look formed on his face. It was a pony on the table, but it wasn’t just any pony. It was one Shining held dearly to his heart.

There laying on the table in a deep sleep was Twilight who had her head laying on her left side on a soft white pillow. A light blue hairnet was around her mane with the same hospital gown that Shining saw her wear earlier when he alongside Sonic and the others found her, but it was clean one. A shiny black anesthesia mask was over her muzzle strapped around her head by a head harness connected to the front of the mask with a metal adapter connected to the two light blue colored hoses to the anesthetic machine. But on her horn Shining saw a strange metallic pump on Twi’s horn and the hose bulges were coming from the metal pump. That’s when Shining made a startling and terrifying revelation of what he was seeing first hand. Twilight’s magic was being extracted by the strange machine from her horn!

“Twilight?”, said Shining as he looked at his sedated sister when he heard sounds and strange shadowy figures that looked similar to the ones that the unicorn and his platoon encountered when he was awake, but wearing surgical gowns and gear appeared around him and Twi. Shining looked around with an aggressive and yet scared look to his face, but then he looked down at himself and saw he was wearing a gown similar to what his sister was wearing.

Suddenly black tentacles extended from 4 of the shadowy beings behind him and grabbed Shining around his body as he exclaimed in fear, “HEY!! LET ME GO!!”

Then Shining began to be pulled away from the table towards another room which had had glass doors and a vast white void behind it. The stallion tried to resist the strange, but he was loosing as he kept being dragged back towards the open door. The stallion opened his eyes and saw the figures surrounding the sleeping form of Twilight and exclaimed to them, “LEAVE MY SISTER ALONE!!”

Shining tried to use his magic to fire off a beam of magic, but for some reason it wasn’t working properly. The four beings went into the white light and kept dragging Shining towards the light. The white stallion dug his hooves into the floor trying to resist one last time with all the strength he had left.

Shining opened his eyes just in time to see Twilight’s head be covered up by the blanket thanks to one of the figures around her table. Was this a dream or a nightmare? 

Suddenly, Shining lost his grip and flew back towards the white light yelling out loud in fear as everything went white around him, “NOOOOOOOOOOO…”

(Back in Reailty at Fort Blizzarton military base;)

“AAAAAHHH!!”, Shining woke up with a scared look on his face as he panted trying to catch his breath as he looked around where he was now. He was back in Fort Blizzarton’s infirmary in a hospital bed with a hospital gown identical to what that Sonic wore when he was first brought to the base. However, Shining just had wires hooked up to him underneath his gown to his chest tracking his vitals and luckily no IV drip in either of his forelegs.

It was all just a dream, but it felt like a nightmare to Shining as he never felt that scared in a long time. The last time he felt like that was when he was a colt after reading a spooky story during one nightmare night.

Then Shining heard light snoring from his right and saw Sonic sitting in a nearby chair asleep which he was waiting for him to wake up. The unicorn stallion looked up at a nearby clock and saw it been 3 hours since he was last awake as it was nearing noontime. It was clear that dream was trying to tell him something and what was going to happen to Twilight if he didn’t do something to save her.

Soon Ice Mist came into the room as she opened the door with her magic and saw Shining now awake from his knocked out state said to him with a relieved tone of voice, “Good to see your finally awake again Shining.”

Shining looked at his platoon’s medical officer and said to her as he tried to get up on his hooves, “Ice.”

The white unicorn stallion managed to get up from his hospital bed and pulled off the wires underneath his gown with his magic. Sonic who heard Shining talk woke up and saw him getting the wires off his chest. The former blue hedgehog got up from his chair and quickly ran over to the unicorn stallion and said to him with concern as Shining put his hooves on the ground, “Easy Shining! You need to rest!”

“I’m fine Sonic. It will take more than an electric shock from that electric mouse to knock me out!”, replied Shining as he began to walk, but he stumbled a bit causing both Sonic and Ice come over to him and try to help him up. However, the white unicorn stallion managed to stand up on his own before he used his magic to take the hospital gown off his body and put it over the front of the hospital bed.

Just then trio heard the door open and saw Forest Rush coming in to see Shining out of bed and said to him in disbelief, “Shining?! You should be in bed!”

The unicorn stallion looked up at his commanding officer and said to him with a grunt, “I’m fine Forest and besides I’m not laying down now with my sister in trouble!”

Forest could tell Shining was acting stubborn, but he knew that his little sister was in danger and was going to do everything to get her back. Soon the green stallion sighed and said to him knowing there was no stopping him, “Ok. But anyways Snow Busters wants us in his office immediately for a debriefing on the mysterious group we encountered hours ago. That also includes Sonic too.”

Without another word everyone walked out of the hospital room and headed for Snow Buster’s office for a debriefing on the incident that happened with the mysterious group that captured Twilight.

(A bit later);

The group at last arrived at Snow Buster’s office and everyone saw Hunter and his Squad who were waiting for them. Once the group came to the front of Snow’s desk all of them gave the leader of the 23rd Regiment a military salute with their right forelegs saying in unison including Sonic, “Sir!”

“At ease Squad 49.”, said Snow Buster as looked at the new arrived squad as Shining’s squad brought down their right forelegs. Once that was done Snow Buster asked Forest Rush, “Now then… Commander Forest. I would like to know what happened a couple hours with the mysterious enemy contact that your squad encountered on your training mission?”

Forest cleared his throat and said to Snow Buster explaining to him what happened 3 hours ago, “Well it happened so fast Snow. These unknown bipedal creatures with strange creatures with elemental powers came out of nowhere and attacked us we did our best to hold them off until pulled out after they got what they were looking for.”

This peaked Snow Buster’s curiosity and as he would like to know what these unknown attackers’ objective was when they attacked Forest’s squad. The silver unicorn stallion soon asked the squad on what was the unknown attacker’s objective, “And what would that be?”

Forest and the rest of the squad including Sonic looked at Shining who seemed emotionally distraught and concerned about something important. Snow Buster nor Squad 99 never seen Shining like this, however, this felt like a personal matter that Shining could only think about. The former captain of the Royal Guard looked at his comrades/friends who knew he had to tell Snow Buster what those attackers were after even though it would be painful for him though.

Shining looked at Snow Buster, took a deep breath, and finally spoke to him saying, “They… were after my sister… and they took her before I had a chance to stop them before one of them knocked me out cold with some kind of electric based attack of some kind.”

Snow Buster and Squad 99’s eyes went wide at what they just heard as Wrecker exclaimed to Shining in disbelief at what they just heard him say, “What?! You managed to find your sister?! And those mysterious attackers and their elemental wielding creatures took her?!!”

Shining nodded at Wrecker in reply until Sonic walked up and said to everyone in the room with a grim look on his face as knew an instant when he saw those two legged beings, “Actually guys I know what are we dealing with right now. Those attackers are actually human beings!”

Everyone looked at Sonic and exclaimed to him including Crosshairs at what the former blue hedgehog just told them, “WHAT?!! HUMANS?!”

Sonic nodded in reply before he continued talking to everyone, “Yeah. I figured out the instant when they captured Twilight and attacked us since I been to a friend of mine’s world which is Earth so I know humans better than anyone else here right now! But the humans we encountered earlier weren’t the ones I remember especially those elemental creatures that had with them.”

Snow Buster looked at Sonic and spoke to him wanting to know more on these human attackers that they encountered, “Were these humans military trained Sonic?”

Sonic nodded in reply and said to Snow Buster as he confirmed it to the military stallion, “Yeah big time. They also had advanced gear and vehicles for winter conditions that I never seen before, but we never got a chance to see their faces before they got away with Twilight.”

“But…”, began Sky Drop as told Snow Buster that they did, however, placed a military tracker on one of those vehicles that the humans made their getaway in before continuing, “…we did managed to plant a tracker on one of their vehicles that attacked us! Thanks to some luck the tracker managed to transmit the location of their base before the signal vanished completely!”

Sky Drop pulled out a military pad like device that showed Snow Buster and everyone else where the signal of the tracker came from before it vanished altogether. The location of the signal came from a large valley that surrounded by several hills and other features 30 clicks northwest of Fort Blizzarton. As the looked at the data Echo said to Sky Drop, “Whoa. These guys actually decided to set up a base in the middle of nowhere and not far from the city!”

Sky Drop had to agree with a frown on his face saying in agreement, “Yeah. Right in our own backyard.”

Soon it was Hunter’s turn to speak as he asked Snow Buster on what the plan was for this situation, “Well sir? What’s the plan?”

Snow Buster sighed and said back to Hunter including everyone else present in the room, “I don’t know Hunter, but I’ll have to talk to command about this startling development. It could take days for all I know of before we get orders on how to proceed.”

Shining’s eyes shrank in fear at what he heard from Snow. As the thought of Twilight and the state she was in when they found her was still very fresh in his mind. If they didn’t do something right now it may become too late to save Twi from some kind of human experimentation that could do serious harm to her or what his nightmare showed him seeing his sister’s magic get drained out of her horn by that strange machine.

At that moment Shining burst out loud yelling at Snow Buster slamming his forehooves on Snow’s desk, “WHAT?!! WE’RE JUST GOING TO ABANDON TWILIGHT LIKE AND LEAVE HER TO THOSE HUMANS?!!”

Snow Buster looked at Shining sternly, but understood what he was trying to say to him as he was greatly worried about his little sister who was no doubt in great danger right now, “I’m sorry Shining, but this isn’t something you can’t handle on your own or any of your comrades! I understand that Twilight is your sister and you want to go save her I really do. However, we can’t just sacrifice a number of our soldiers just to save one life without any additional information on what these humans are capable of including their elemental creatures. It’s too risky!”

Shining’s thoughts went into overdrive as he remembered what happened with him and Twilight during his former wedding two years ago. The day he broke her heart and tossed her out like garbage when Chrysalis used him and everyone else to make Twilight leave like puppets. He been searching for her for 2 years and now she was in trouble in the hands of humans for all he knew were planning to experiment on her or do something horrible to her. 

Soon Shining said to Snow Buster in a pleading yet concerned tone of voice, “Look Snow I get what your trying to say to me know, but what happened two years ago was all my fault and I abandoned Twilight on that day, but I’m not ever abandoning her again! Not like this! She’s in trouble right now with whatever those humans are planning to do to her! I have go and save her!!”

Sonic who knew Shining would do anything in his power to save Twilight from those mysterious humans and their elemental creatures soon said to Snow Buster, “Please Snow. Give us an official mission to rescue Twilight. I know I’m not in the military, but I know that Twi is a barer of an element of harmony and if we don’t help her in time we’re practically giving her to those humans! They might find a way to use her to get the elements and use them against Eques! And for all we know there could be others along with Twilight in that base that need to be save as well! You have to us go! Please.”

Snow Buster looked at the two stallions before looking at Shining. He could see that the unicorn was desperate to go after his sister and didn’t care what happened to him as long as Twilight was safe. He was concerned about Twilight’s safety and like any older brother would do want to protect them and save their younger siblings.

There was a long silence as the silver unicorn thought for a moment. Everyone including Shining and Sonic were on the edge of their seats wondering what he was going to say. At last Snow Buster said to the assembled squads knowing that Twi must be saved thanks to Sonic and Shining’s persuasion after all if they didn’t act now Twilight and many others could be put at risk, “Well then… both of your squads will be assigned a mission. A fact finding/rescue mission. Your objective is to rescue Twilight and gather intelligence on your human attackers with their strange elemental pets. You must infiltrate their base and get Twilight out of there before something happens to her. Stealth is key for this mission to succeed.”

Sonic and Shining’s faces lit up at this especially Shining himself who never felt so overjoyed in his life. They were going to have an official rescue mission to save Twilight and any others that were probably trapped in that secret human base not far from the city.

But then Tech interrupted the mood as he said to Snow Buster as showed a holographic diagram of the hidden base with the surrounding area on his hoofpad, “That could be a bit of a problem though. I managed to discover multiple security poll like sensors in a large circle around the base’s perimeter. I’m afraid normal inflation by land will be fruitless when Twilight’s captors will no doubt discover that we’re coming to rescue her.”

Tech tapped the pad with his right front hoof and showed a huge circle with 20 red dots around the perimeter of the base and even going into the nearby mountains of snow covered hills. This was going to be a major problem as if the two squads step into the circle the security system will alert the humans they were coming.

Snow Buster looked at the map and was thinking of a way somestallion or pony could get behind enemy lines without being detected by the sensors, “Hmm… that’s quite the problem. Even if Forest or Hunter’s squads manage to reach the perimeter of their base those humans will know they’re coming thanks to those sensors.”

Soon Sonic thought of something as he said to Snow Buster as an idea flew into his head, “Why not go over the sensors like jumping out of an airplane behind enemy lines? Will that work?”

Snow Buster looked at Sonic for a minute and said to the former blue hedgehog hero as that sounded like a solid idea to infiltrate the hidden base, “Actually Sonic your idea may be the thing to get somestallion or pony behind those sensors without detected. But they’ll have to do a HAHO jump in order to do that and perhaps only two may be able to get in, but the rest will have to stay out of the perimeter and take out those sensors to punch a hole through it to allow the other two escape with Twilight.”

Hearing this Shining spoke up to Snow Buster saying to him with a determined tone of voice, “I’ll go and get Twilight out of that base.”

Snow Buster looked at Shining and said to him knowing he wanted to do this as Twilight was his sister and it was a brother’s duty to protect their younger siblings, “Not alone Shining. You’ll need to have backup to help you along with your sister and any others in that base get out if you manage to get in and find them.”

Sonic spoke up next and said to Snow Buster as he would go with Shining as his backup, “I’ll go with Shining sir. Besides I have some experience in breaking into hidden military bases before, so I can help Shining get his sister out of there.”

Snow looked at Sonic and nodded in agreement before looking at Forest and Hunter and said to them, “In the meantime Forest you and the rest of your squad will have to help Squad 99 create a opening to allow Sonic and Shining to escape with Twilight. Both of your teams will leave in 20 minutes.”

“Understood Sir. I’ll get Ice, Sharpshot, and Sky ready for the mission.”, replied Forest as he Snow Buster a military salute before walking out of the office to ready his team. Hunter and his squad did the same and left the room, but not before Tech gave Sonic a small silver and blue advanced looking jump-drive.

Sonic looked at the small device and back at Teach as he asked in a confused look on his face, “What’s this?”

“A remote high capacity jump-drive. I made it myself and it can store up to 1,900 GB of data. While you and Shining are inside the base I’ll also act as your tech support and that jump-drive is remotely hooked up to my own laptop computer that will be to download the intel on our unknown attackers and find out what they plan to do with Twilight.”, explained Tech knowing that the Equestrian military needed vital intel on these humans and their elemental creatures alongside the motive for abducting Twilight.

Sonic nodded in reply understanding what Tech was saying to him and said to the smart stallion, “So all I have do is plug this thing into a computer terminal at those humans’ hidden base and you’ll take it from there?”

“That is correct. Now I must be off with the rest of my squad now. Good luck to both of you.”, replied Tech as he went off to join the rest of his squad as Squad 99 and Forest’s squad were going to be leaving in 20 minutes. Shining and Sonic watched him leave the room knowing they were counting on them to help get out of that base in one piece with Twilight.

“As for you two…”, began Snow Buster as both stallions looked at the commanding officer of the 23rd Regiment before continuing to them saying, “You’ll be leaving in 10 minutes. Make sure you take thermal insulated pressure suits they’ll not only give protection from the cold temperatures from the higher altitudes above your drop site, but they also include advanced stealth technology embedded into them to hide you two from security cameras if those humans have security systems in their base. Remember this is a stealth mission and make sure that either of you are not spotted. Understood?”

Sonic and Shining nodded in agreement and said to the silver unicorn stallion, “Yes sir.”

Snow Buster nodded back a them before saying to the duo, “Well then you two better get yourselves geared up. You got an important mission to accomplish soon.”

With that both Shining and Sonic left the room and headed for the armory to grab their gear and their pressure suits to wear for their part of the mission. Snow Buster knew this was a personal mission for Shining as Twilight was his sister and he was going to do everything in his power to rescue her. Something that Snow knows all too well as he looked at a picture showing his younger self a year ago just after he was assigned command of 23rd Regiment and beside him was a light grey unicorn pony with blue green eyes with a slightly smooth pale light blue mane and tail. He too was a big brother and had a little sister just like Shining and like all older brothers they would do everything to protect their younger siblings.

5 minutes later in the main hanger;

It was almost time for Sonic and Shining to leave on their mission to rescue Twilight while Forest and his team alongside Squad 99 were readying their own gear. All of them had their standard issue winter camouflage combat uniforms with tactical vests, combat helmets with headcams, long range microphone equipped com system, M45K Equestrian Assault rifles or K34A Equestrian Battle Rifles, Sharpshot had M82 Sniper Rifle while Crosshairs had a modified and tweaked M24 Sniper Rifle with a digital scope with different settings on it, stealth snow boots that lower down the sound of crunching snow, Wrecker had a modified and advanced rocket launcher which he calls Big Bertha with his assault rifle, and like the cherry on top all of them had advanced goggles that can pick up heat signatures or even radio signals from electronics like the sensors they were going to be taking out. This was one heck of a tense moment as a life was on the line and they must make sure their mission success in order for Sonic and Shining to escape from the hidden human base.

As they were readying their weapons and making sure they had enough ammunition for their rifles Sharpshot said to Echo as he was picking up high caliber sniper shells for him sniper rifle, “Can’t believe we’re going up against a alien species that we have no idea about yet Sonic knows very well. I just hope we can give Sonic and Shining the opening they need to escape from that base that the tracker picked up.”

Echo had to agree and said to Sharpshot as he was getting cartilages for his assault rifle as he was wondering what the humans were planning to do to poor Twilight since they had her in their grasp, “Me too. I wonder why those humans went after Twilight in the first place or what they have in store for her?”

Sky Drop was nearby the two Equien soldiers as he was testing heat signature registering goggles that were going to be used for their mission and said to them, “No idea guys, but we have to make sure we do our part on the mission. If we fail then who knows what will happen to Twilight then.”

Sharpshot and Echo agreed with Sky Drop until they saw a certain duo arrive in the hanger ready to go on their part of their mission. It was none other than Sonic and Shining wearing thermal insulated military pressure suits with helmets, military gear, parachutes, and MBU-12 type grey colored oxygen masks with grey colored hoses to their air supplies. Since they were going to jump from high altitudes they were going to need them to survive the harsh cold temperatures that they were going to be jumping out in. Also Shining had an assault rifle and pistol with magic based stun rounds in their cartridges which could knock out a hydra with a single hit which can knock out a human easily with one shot.

The duo walked past Forest, Hunter, and the others who gave them looks for good luck knowing they were going to be walking into a lion’s den. As the two stallions approached a awaiting Osprey that was going to take them to their drop site it had its cargo bay door open up to allow the two stallions inside Shining heard Ice’s voice from behind them, “Shining wait!”

Shining stopped along with Sonic as the two pressure suited stallions looked to see Ice coming up to them wearing her winter camouflage uniform and gear as she was already suited up for their mission to help give both stallions a exit when they rescue Twilight. She came to a stop in front of Shining and said to him, “Are both you and Sonic about to leave on your part of the mission?”

Shining nodded in acknowledgment as he said to Ice saying to her, “Yeah. We’re just about leave Ice.”

Ice Mist took a deep breath and said to Shining knowing if either Sonic or himself got hurt she or the others wouldn’t be there to help them if they got into trouble, “Are you sure you two will be okay by yourselves? If either of you get injured I won’t be there to help you guys!”

Shining and Sonic understood what Ice was trying to say to them, but Twilight’s life was on the line and they needed to rescue her before it was too late. They had to do this and if everyone played this right they’ll be able to give in and out of that base without a hitch with Twilight. Soon Shining said to Ice in a calm tone of voice as he reassured her, “Ice. I know you’re worried about us, but I have to do this. I abandoned Twilight two years ago thanks to my actions during the wedding rehearsal and hurt her in the process. This time I’m not abandoning her… not again. And don’t worry… Sonic will be there by my side if things get out of control.”

Sonic soon walked up beside Shining and said to Ice in agreement giving her a confident smile on his muzzle, “He’s right Ice. Besides I got Shining’s back when we get into the base! You can count on it! Besides we need you and the others to do your parts in order for us to make out of that base in one piece!”

Ice looked at Sonic and nodded in agreement knowing he was right this isn’t the time to worry or be scared. This was the time to be brave and show how far they come in their military training as Marines. Despite being a 16 year old teenage pegasus stallion Sonic had tons of experience in battle and was determined not to let anything happen to his friend or Twilight. Soon the duo heard a voice behind them as they looked to see their pilot for their Osprey named Stormfire who was a Pegasus stallion Marine pilot who has experience in flying aircraft like this in the cargo bay of their aircraft while his Co-pilot was a unicorn pony named Light Flash who was also a skilled pilot too, “Come on guys. We better go.”

Sonic and Shining nodded in agreement before they walked towards the cargo bay door of the Osprey leaving Ice to watch them board their craft. Once they went up the ramp into the cargo bay the door closed behind them leaving the icy blue unicorn mare to watch from the distance as the propellers for the Osprey came on and started spinning to full speed. At that moment the one of the main hanger doors to the base opened up allowing the lone osprey to move at last towards the runway. 

Ice watched as the aircraft began to make its way to the runway as she said to herself, “Royal Sisters. Please watch over them and make sure they come back safely with Shining’s sister.”

Soon the osprey took off from the runway into the air after it got the clearance for takeoff carrying Sonic and Shining in the back of the aircraft who were sitting down on benches. As the two stallions looked outside as the snow covered ground began to smaller Shining thought about Twilight and is she safe right now as he thought to himself as the aircraft disappeared into the cloudy sky, ‘Hang on sis. We’re coming. Just hold on and be strong.’

Location: The Hidden Human Base 30 clicks Northwest of Fort Blizzarton;

“Ugh… what happened?”, groaned Vert as he opened his eyes and was met by a bright light which blinded him before moments later his sight came back. What he saw next was one of the light fixtures found in the OR in hospitals yet this one looked advanced than the kind he seen on tv. The Teku/Silencer racer put his right hand to his head as he slowly got up from laying down on his back. 

However, Vert began to notice his hand felt different from last time when he was awake. He brought up his right hand to take a look at it and saw a capri blue foreleg of a horse foreleg staring back at him taking his hand’s place. Shocked and stunned at what he just saw Vert looked at his body to find the rest of his body had changed too now a pegasus stallion around 18 years old with the same exact capri blue color as a coat color. He also felt something on his sides which were like wings, but was covered by a medical green hospital gown made for his body’s new physiology. A slightly long blond yellow tail was at the end of his new bottom with the Teku symbol on his left flank as a mark.

He quickly got up from the table and saw a mirror on the right side of the room as he at last saw his reflection as a stallion’s face stared back him with a shocked look on his face. Vert just looked at his reflection with shock at his new appearance and said to himself, “Whoa. What the heck happened to me?!”

That’s when former human racer remembered everything before he woke up just moments ago. He was with his dad’s team exploring this new world when the Wheel of Power locked onto something in this world and came to certain part of the planet when they detected human made radio transmissions not far from this world’s North Pole which was similar to Montana in the winter when snow storms come into the air during the late fall, the winter season, and early spring. They soon got ambushed by unknown attackers with elemental creatures and Jack had order the entire team to evacuate back to Earth with their cars’ ECDRs, but Vert wasn’t able to as he got grabbed out his car before it could teleport back to Earth by the unknown attackers. Then he felt a strange sensation in his body when his camo suit got a small opening in it and his body got exposed to some kind of unknown energy and after that was all black until he woke up here.

As he looked at his body Vert said to himself in shock as he was now a young adult pegasus stallion, “I guess this world’s strange energy turned me into this form after I got exposed to it. But where the heck am I?”

Vert looked around his surroundings and saw the room was an advanced operating room/laboratory hybrid appearance to it. There was medical equipment usually found in the operating rooms in hospitals on Earth including IV drips, heart monitors, operating table, X-Ray machines, and an anesthetic machine for sedation of patients or specimens in Vert’s case. There were advanced pieces of technology that Vert never seen before and looked pretty futuristic in design probably lab equipment.

However, Vert shook his snapping out of his thoughts knowing he had to find a way out of this place before he is used as a human turned pegasus stallion guinea pig for some kind of experiment. Then the 18 year old had to find a way to contact his dad and send someone to pick him and get him back to his Earth since this planet was an Earth like planet in a different universe. Besides he been through 6 months of intense training for the Silencerz and can get out of this mess.

The first thing Vert had to do was find a door or something that can lead him out of this room. Sure enough the capri blue stallion found one which looked like one of those sliding metal doors at Silencerz HQ which probably open up automatically if he was near it. So Vert did just that as he slowly got off the OR table he was on moments ago and landing on his new hooves. As he looked at his new front legs Vert thought to himself as his legs felt a bit shaky, ‘Aw man, everything feels completely weird in this new body of mine. I just hope I know how walk on four legs or even fly with these new wings on the sides of my body!’

So Vert decided to test out his new body as he took a small step forward with his left foreleg causing him to stumble a bit, but managed to stand upright. He then took another step this time with his right foreleg and in turn made his back legs move on instinct. However, this time he fell to the ground with a flop and could only groan in annoyance. This was going to take some getting use to for sure.

As he laid on his belly Vert said to himself in an annoyed tone, “Why do I get the feeling this walking on four legs thing is going to be more complicated than I thought?”

(With Sonic and Shining);

Meanwhile high in the air the Equestrian Military’s Osprey was flying high at 18,000 feet in the air. The military aircraft was nearing its target and it won’t be too soon when both Sonic and Shining will have to make their HAHO jump. Once they get on the ground they were to infiltrate the hidden human base, find Twilight and rescue her, collect intelligence on these humans and their elemental creatures, and get out with Twi and any others that are trapped inside the base.

Inside the cargo hold of the Osprey both Shining and Sonic were on the bench of the craft waiting to make their jump. Both stallions had their MBU-12 oxygen masks on their muzzles and hooked onto their helmets as they were breathing from their air supplies. Once the Osprey reached high altitudes the pilots had to put on their oxygen masks as well as Sonic and Shining to help them breathe. Both stallions knew they can’t fail their mission considering what was at stake as Twilight’s life was on the line.

Sonic soon looked at Shining who looked like he was in deep thought as he was thinking about Twilight and hoping she was ok. Despite having his oxygen mask on over his muzzle Sonic can tell the unicorn was concerned about his little sister as Sonic said to him through his mask’s microphone, “Shining don’t worry. Nothing bad will happen to Twilight I promise you. We’re getting her back.”

Shining looks back at Sonic and said to him through his oxygen mask’s microphone as he was concerned about Twilight’s wellbeing, “I don’t know Sonic. I never thought I would be going up against human beings and strange elemental power wielding creatures who are probably doing some crazy experiments on Twilight on some kind of high tech laboratory. Sure I’m nervous and all, but you’re calm and sure of yourself that we’re going to succeed in our mission. Are you even scared a bit of failing?”

Sonic shook his head in response and said back to Shining, “Not exactly. I know it’s okey to be scared at times including on the possibility of failing, but I know you got to do things that make you face your fears all the time. Trust me I had a lot of experience in that department and right now Shining you need to be brave for Twilight. She’s counting on both of us to get her out of that base and we’re going to bring her home safe and sound.”

Shining had to agree with that statement from the blue hero as she was no doubt counting on them to get her out of that base. Then the duo heard Stormfire from the cockpit of the Osprey as they were nearing the drop zone, “Get ready guys! We right over the drop zone! Opening cargo bay door now!”

Sonic and Shining got up from their seats and walked over to the cargo bay door as the Osprey’s rear door opened up revealing the snow covered landscape below. The stallions looked up to see they still had the red light and they were suppose to jump yet. That would change as the light would change to green.

At last it did as the two heard Light Flash exclaim to them from the cockpit, “GREEN LIGHT!! GO GO GO GO!!”

Sonic and Shining didn’t hesitate at all as the two stallions ran for the open door and jumped out of the aircraft free-falling down towards the ground as the chilling wind howled around them. It was a good thing they were thermal insulated pressure suits which was keeping their bodies warm from the freezing temperatures. If they didn’t well they might’ve gotten frost-bite on their legs.

Sonic looked at Shining as the two had their legs spread out butterfly style as they kept falling towards the snow covered ground. Not far from their landing spot they saw the hidden human base not far away and could see the same structure that Twilight saw before she was captured by the humans. This was definitely the right place and Twilight no doubt had to be inside.

Shining activated his helmet’s high tech visor as he saw they nearing 10,000 feet and dropping before he said to Sonic through his mask’s microphone, “We’re getting close to 5,000 feet Sonic! Get ready to deploy your parachute!”

“Copy that buddy!”, replied Sonic as he turned on his helmet’s visor as well showing that both he and Shining were already past 6,000 feet and they were getting close.

The two stallions watched as their visor showed the decreasing altitude they were getting and had passed 5,100 feet until at last they reached 5,000 feet. At that moment the two stallions pulled their rip-cords and activated their parachutes as they came out of their parachute bags on their backs and began decrease the their descent to the ground below. The two stallions made sure to maneuver their shoots as they differ down to the ground as the their visors read 2,000 feet and dropping going to 1,000, 500, 300, and 200 feet.

At last the duo landed on the ground with a large crunch of the nearby snow that their booted hooves landed on. They soon took off their shoots and put them back into their bags before Shining lit up his horn and used a advanced long range teleportation spell to teleport the parachutes back aboard the Osprey that they just jumped out of moments ago. After that Shining said to the mission control back in Fort Blizzarton through his oxygen mask’s microphone as long range communications were opened between them and the base for a short time, “Command this is Jumper Team Leader we landed in the drop zone! We have the base in sight! Over.”

“Copy that Jumper Team Leader. Commence radio silence. Over!”, responded one of the communications officers at Fort Blizzarton.

“Understood. Over and out!”, acknowledged Shining as both he and Sonic turned off all communications between them and command. They were on their own now and it was time for them to sneak into the base and rescue Twilight.

The two stallions made their way to the building which was a bit bigger than they first thought  although they had no idea how get inside without be detected. Since the duo or the military had no physical layout of the complex this was going to be tricky in finding an entrance into this place. Soon Sonic and Shining came to the only door that they could find and Sonic tried to open it, but he soon found it didn’t have a handle on the outside meaning they weren’t going in this way. Then Shining walked up causing Sonic to walk back from the door as the white unicorn stallion tired to use an unlocking spell to open up the door, but it was no good either as the door was sealed tight. Shining stopped using his magic and groaned in annoyance as he said through his mask’s microphone, “Hayseeds! Looks like we’re not getting inside this way! We’ll have to find another way inside… somehow…”

Sonic was about to say something to Shining when he saw nearby air vents leading down below the surface. That meant one thing that the air vents must lead down to the ventilation system for the entire base and if it was like Area 99 then it may have a blind spot for security. Sonic then shook Shining’s left foreleg’s shoulder and said to him as he pointed at the vents, “What about the air vents Shining? Will that work?”

Shining looks at the air vents and saw that they were big enough to allow the duo inside which also meant they had their entrance point. The unicorn stallion looked at Sonic and said to through his oxygen mask’s microphone in an impressed tone of voice, “Good thinking Sonic! Let’s get inside!”

Sonic nodded in reply before the two stallions went over to the air vents which were open thankfully. The sky blue military pressure suit wearing pegasus stallion then helped Shining up into the vent which took some difficulty since all the military gear he was carrying including his magic stun round equipped assault rifle, but he managed to get Shining in before he slid down the vent followed by Sonic who flew in and closed his wings following the unicorn.

The two stallions soon reached the bottom of the vent and thankfully this time Sonic didn’t get skid marks on his new flank. Soon the sky blue pegasus stallion said to Shining through his mask’s microphone as they now inside the base, “Well we’re in the base now. Now we have to find a way of of this air vent.”

Shining, however, had to disagree with Sonic’s statement as he said to him as he was seeing something just in front of them, “Don’t be so sure Sonic. Turn your visor to its inferred setting and see what’s in front of us.”

Sonic confused by what Shining was talking about, but he did so without question as he changed his high tech visor to its inferred setting and found out what he meant. In front of the two were inferred motion detector lasers which were online and littered the vent, but he could see a safe path through the lasers. However, the two stallions had to tread carefully around them to make sure they didn’t set off the alarm.

Soon he said to Shining in reply through his mask’s microphone, “Whoa. Talk about high security!”

“Yeah. We better watch where we step through this vent or every human here will know they have unwanted visitors!” ,replied Shining as he poked back at Sonic before looking forward and started to carefully move around the motion detector lasers. Sonic followed suit soon after as the two made sure they didn’t step through one laser or the mission will go up in smoke and they would have to resort to plan B. Blaze a path through the defenses and reach Twilight then get her out.

After some careful maneuvering around the lasers the two stallions made it to exit point as they looked down from the access panel to see high tech security cameras looking at the floor of the hallway making sure no intruders were inside the base. Sonic and Shining looked at each other and nodded in agreement as they had to be stealthy now. Shining ignited his horn casting an advanced illusion spell on all the cameras to hide their presence once they were on the floor. Once that was done Sonic lifted up the access panel and the two landed on the floor of the hallway before Shining used his magic to levitate the access panel back to its original position.

Sonic soon looked at Shining and asked him with curious tone of voice as he wondered what kind of spell did he just cast moments ago, “Hey Shining? What was that spell you casted moments ago?”

Shining looked at Sonic and said back to him from his oxygen mask’s microphone, “It was an advanced illusion spell Sonic. I learned it while I was being retrained a month ago before I met you. The security cameras wouldn’t pick up us because what they’re seeing right now is an empty hallway, but it won’t last forever.”

“How much time we have until the spell wares off?”,replied Sonic as he knew they were on a time limit if the illusion spell was temporarily.

Shining thought for a moment before he said to Sonic as he remembered the time limit of the advanced illusion spell he casted moments ago, “About maybe 2 to 1 hours perhaps, so I suggest we get to searching for Twilight right away before it wares off!”

Sonic nodded in agreement and and two ran down the hallway heading towards the main laboratory where the humans were probably holding Twilight. As the two stallions ran down the hallway they hopped Forest and the others were having the best of luck as they were right now. They were counting on them for their escape route and if they can’t open a hole in the security perimeter around the base this rescue mission was going to be a short one.

Meanwhile war away from the hidden base a fully geared up Forest and Hunter slowly raised up their heads from behind a large formation of rocks with their assault rifles ready to let loose some ammunition. Thanks to their uniforms’ winter digital camouflage they were pretty well blinded in with their surroundings. In front of them were several advanced pole like devices with slowly blinking red spheres on the very top. No doubt these were the sensors that were tasked on taking out to allow Sonic and Shining a opening to escape with Twilight and any other equestrian that were captured by the humans.

As they looked at the sensors that they were assigned to destroy Forest said to the leader of Squad 99, “Well… there’s our targets.”

Hunter had to agree and said to the green earth stallion as he was a bit impressed with the tech these humans were using, “Yeah and I’m a bit impressed with the hardware these humans are using.”

Suddenly Wrecker came up from behind the two leading stallions wearing his combat gear and winter digital camouflage uniform with his heavy winter digital camo jacket holding Big Bertha with his forelegs and standing on his back legs, “Then let’s knock these things out and get ready to go and get Sonic and Shining!”

Wrecker was about to fire his beloved missile launcher with a rocket primed and ready to blow something up when Echo came up and stopped him from firing the rocket saying to him, “Easy Wrecker! We don’t want to attract attention to our position!”

Wrecker looked down at Echo with a pouty look his face and said to him bummed out that wasn’t going to blow something up, “Awww I wanted to blow something up with Big Bertha!”

Sky Drop who came up behind the group looked at Wrecker and said to him with a flat look on his face, “You can blow something up after Tech deactivates the sensor’s alert system Wrecker! We don’t want the humans to figure out what we’re up to or Sonic and Shining will never get out with Twilight!”

Wrecker groaned as he saw Tech at one of the sensors hacking into its system with his laptop computer and was being covered by Ice Mist and Crosshairs as they were making sure that they weren’t expecting unexpected visitors. The smart unicorn stallion was working fast as he could knowing time was on the line. So far Tech was able to hack into the sensor’s security system with no problem now he was busy deactivating this section of the sensors to create an opening for Sonic and Shining with their objective.

Ice Mist looks back at Tech and asks him how he was coming along with the technical side of creating a hole for Sonic and Shining, “How’s it coming Tech?!”

“Nearly there. I’m in the sensors’ main operating system and nearly about to turn off their security system.”, replied Tech as he was nearly done on his end until at last he managed to deactivate this section of sensors. Once he was done Tech looked at Ice and Crosshairs before he said to them, “I have deactivated the sensors. We’re clear to destroy them.”

“About time.”, replied Crosshairs as he aimed his sniper rifle at the farthest sensor to the left and pulled the trigger causing a high velocity explosive sniper round to fly out of the barrel of the gun with a loud boom. The bullet hit the top of the sensor and exploded on impact taking out the top of the advanced sensor in a fiery explosion. 

Tech who had already put his laptop back in his saddle bag pulled out two magnetic high explosive grenades and threw one to Ice. The two nodded in agreement as they pulled the pins with their magic arming them before they threw them into two different sensor poles on the the right and one on the left. The magnetic grenades latched onto the sensor poles as they were almost ready to explode. Ice Mist, Crosshairs, and Tech ran back to their team’s position and got behind the rock they were behind just in time as the magnetic grenades exploded into large fireballs.

Once the explosions stopped the smoke blew away showing the destroyed poles now were pieces of scrap metal. Wrecker groaned in disbelief and dismay as Tech, Crosshairs, and even Ice Mist managed to destroy a few sensors, “Awww why do they get to blow stuff up while I couldn’t! I wanted to blow some stuff up too!”

Hunter rolled his eyes and smiled at the big earth stallion teammate as he said to him, “Actually Wrecker you can have the rest. Just for you.”

Hearing this from Hunter made Wrecker very happy and excited as he immediately readied Big Bertha as he aimed his beloved missile launcher at one of the remaining sensor posts. He aimed at the advanced piece of technology before he pulled the trigger causing the rocket inside to fly out of the barrel and smashed into the pole with a powerful explosion. Wrecker laughed with joy as he readied more missiles and fired them at the poles and like the one he took out came resulting explosions. Forest and his squad looked at Wrecker with raised eyebrows wondering if Wrecker had a screws loose in his brain.

Before long all the sensors in this certain section were destroyed as Wrecker laughed with total excitement saying out loud, “Hahah! That felt so good!”

Soon Tech said to everyone knowing they had a schedule to keep knowing Sonic and Shining would be out of the hidden base any moment, “We better hurry though. Sonic and Shining could be waiting for us at the extraction point.”

Everyone nodded in agreement before they quickly gathered up their gear and headed back to their Snow Crawler to meet up with Sonic and Shining at the Extraction Point. They had finished their part of the mission now it was up to them to finish their part. That is if they didn’t get caught by the humans first.

Meanwhile back at the human base Shining and Sonic were running through the hallways dodging human personal of the base and the strange elemental creatures that they had with them. So far they hadn’t been spotted yet, but they were getting close to where Twilight was being kept as they did see human medical officers going towards the laboratory of their med wing.

Presently the two were coming up on a junction to two different hallways one going left while the other went right. As they neared it they heard the sound of two voices coming from the right side of the hallway. Sonic looked at Shining and said to him quietly, “More humans are coming Shining!”

“I hear you Sonic! Duck behind the corner on the right!”, responded Shining as the two dover for a nearby overhanging corner to a different room. 

The two stallions went silent as the two voices came closer as they heard a female voice talking to a male voice saying to it in a smart manner, “I heard the Doc’s husband and his team managed to recapture the escaped unicorn earlier today. Can’t believe it found a way to escape from the lab last night.”

Soon the male voice said to the female voice as their footsteps began to get closer and louder, “Yeah. That one is pretty smart. But I heard they’re going to preform that energy extraction procedure on its horn so they can study its energy in a liquified form.”

That made Shining’s eyes go wide with shock at what he just heard from the two human voices. Energy extraction procedure? Did these human learn of a way to extract a unicorn’s magic from his or hers’ horns?

Soon the female voice came again and asked the male one as they neared the corner that Sonic and Shining were right behind, “What about the other one in Lab 2? The male blue one with wings?”

Soon the two voices made another turn and went past Sonic and Shining showing two humans wearing advanced hazmat suits that were light blue with air hoses on their backs. At that moment the male human said to the female one, “They’re still examining him. I don’t know what they’re going to do with him yet, but I bet they’re going to preform tests on him.”

The two humans went down the hallway that Sonic and Shining just came from and turned right as they now out of sight. Soon the two stallions looked at each other as Shining said to Sonic, “Change of plans Sonic… I need you to go save that pegasus stallion that they have in Lab 2. I’ll go after Twilight.”

Sonic looked at Shining with a concerned look on his face despite his oxygen mask covered his muzzle, “Shining if we split up I wouldn’t be able to cover you if you managed to get caught by these humans!”

Shining nodded in reply and said back to Sonic understanding what he was saying to him, “I know Sonic, but it’s not just Twilight whose also in danger there’s that stallion those two humans were talking about earlier. Besides with your speed you can reach me in no time and trust me. I’ll be fine.”

Sonic looked down at the floor a bit before he reluctantly nodded in reply before he said to Shining, “Ok. But stay out of sight and if you managed to find Twilight whatever happens do not engage these humans head on by yourself! If they were able to capture her that easily then they could do the same to you!”

Shining nodded in reply before the two came out of their hiding spot making sure the coast was clear. Once everything was clear both Sonic and Shining ran out of their spot and ran down each of the hallways heading towards their destinations. Both knew they can handle themselves in a fight, but against these humans and unknown elemental creatures they had to tread carefully.

Thanks to his super speed Sonic managed to find Lab 2 in no time as the name was stamped on the front of the door and it had a high tech renal scanner that will only work with personal here. It was easy to find it thanks to overhearing a couple of humans talking about it heading to different destinations. Now all that he had to do was get inside somehow which was solved by a little gadget that Tech gave him before he left Fort Blizzarton’s base.

Sonic pulled something out of his pressure suit’s pocket revealing a small high tech disk like device and said to himself out from his oxygen mask, “Ok Tech let’s see if this little gizmo of yours works!”

Without wasting time Sonic activated the disk device which glowed blue and opened up as he attached it to the scanner. The device hacked into the scanner’s system and made it use the previous eye that was scanned before Sonic got there. Once that was done it opened the door and Sonic took the small device off the small computer terminal before running into the room before the door slid closed behind him.

Inside the room Sonic saw the room looked a room usually found in hospitals with medical equipment and everything including a couple pieces of advanced lab equipment. There was also a computer terminal to the base’s database meaning Sonic can use the advanced jump drive that Tech gave him before they left on their mission and saw a opening to insert the storage device where it will hack into the system, copy important data from the database, and leave a secret bug in the system to monitor and track what the humans are up to. 

So Sonic walked over to the computer terminal and pulled out the jump drive and plugged it into the computer as it made it come online before showing a copy and download screen. At that moment the copying and download of important files and information on what was here in this base had in its database commenced. Sonic had no idea how many files were going to be copied and downloaded into the mobile storage device, but he just hoped it wasn’t too much.

As Sonic waited for the download to be completed he looked around for any sign of any Pegasus stallion that were in here. Strangely he didn’t see any sign of one around in the room, but he did have a feeling that he was being watched in the room. As he walked forward he didn’t see a certain 18 year old carpi blue pegasus stallion wearing a hospital gown hiding behind the table watching him. Suddenly the stallion raced forward and rammed into Sonic sending him to the ground as yelled out loud from his mask, “OW!!”

The former blue hedgehog squirmed against the stallion who happened to be Vert who was holding him down and yelled at the stallion, “Who are you?!”

However, Sonic managed to throw Vert off his back with a strong thrust of his back as the former human racer landed on the floor with a hard thud. At the same time Sonic managed to get back up to his hooves and turned around to see the stallion he came to rescue, but he did, however, notice that there was something strange about this one. Not only that he sounded like Shining only younger around 18 years old.

The blue blur soon ran up to the carpi blue pegasus stallion and said to him, “Sorry there I didn’t know you were in here before you jumped me!”

Vert, however, got up to his new hooves which he gotten used to by now and said to Sonic in a serious tone of voice, “Who are you anyway?!”

“Whoa! Easy dude I’m here to get you out of this place!”, exclaimed Sonic defensively as he had no intentions of hurting Vert whatsoever.

Vert’s face softened at this before he said to Sonic with shock in his voice, “Your here to get me out of this place?!”

Sonic nodded in reply which made Vert relax a bit before the former human said to the sky blue pegasus stallion, “Okey. But what’s with the Air Force oxygen mask you’re wearing right now?”

Vert pointed his right foreleg at Sonic’s mask who looked down at his mask and said with realization what he was talking about, “Oh the mask I’m wearing!”

Sonic unhooked the right side of his mask and took it off his muzzle which in turn show it to the former human as the blue blur said to him with a visible smile on his face, “This modified Equestrian Air Force oxygen mask has a built in microphone and components to act like a substitute gas mask, but just for smoke and other things. It’s hooked up to a supply on the back of my pressure suit!”

Equestrian Air Force? Vert never heard of that before, but it must be an Air Force branch of one of the countries that live on this planet. Also this stallion looked to be teenager around 16 years maybe who weren’t old enough to enlist in military especially in the Air Force. After all he had no idea who his rescuer is anyway, so he had to ask him his name. Not to mention this stallion gave Vert the feeling he can trust him.

So Vert took a deep breath and asked the Blue Blur with a raised eyebrow, “Ok? So who are you anyway?”

“The name is Sonic! Sonic The Hedgehog! And you are?”, replied Sonic as he introduced himself and asked Vert who he was since he had no idea who he was talking too either.

Vert was left in shock as his mouth dropped open like a dinner plate as the realization he was talking to a talking hedgehog probably from another planet or dimension. After taking on the Racing Drones in the Racing Realms he couldn’t believe that were some good aliens out there like Sonic who decided to came rescue him from this strange lab. What kind of world did his dad and his team find anyway?

Sonic noticed Vert’s shocked look as he stared at him with an open mouth as he raised an eyebrow at the carpi blue pegasus stallion before he asked him, “Uh? Are you okey dude? You look kind of… um… shocked about something.”

Vert quickly snapped out of his daze and looked at the blue hero and said to him rubbing his blond yellow mane which was once his hair with his right foreleg, “Well… yeah. Are you really an alien hedgehog from another planet?”

Sonic nodded in response and said to him awkwardly with a very confused look on his face, “Uh yeah? I come from Planet Möbius in a different dimensional universe until I got sent here to this world by Chaos Control. Is there something you want to tell me?”

Vert looked at the ground nervously before he gulped and said to Sonic, “Yeah. You see I’m not exactly a… um… pegasus. I was actually… a human.”

Sonic’s eyes went wide with disbelief at what he just heard from Vert and exclaimed to him in shock, “WHAT?! You’re actually a human being?! Then how in the world did you end up looking like a pegasus stallion?!”

Vert shrugged his forelegs’ shoulders and said back to Sonic with a unsure look on his face, “I don’t know when I first came here I was normal until my dad and his team picked up radio signals coming from this base and we got ambushed and were forced to teleport back to Earth before any of us were captured using ECDRs on our cars, but I grabbed by the people running this place before I had a chance to get away then my suit got torn and I got exposed to some strange energy from this planet and the next thing I knew… I woke up looking like this.”

Wait a minute? Did this former human said Earth? That can’t be right. Sonic knew for the certain the GUN wouldn’t be able to send an expedition force to explore a world like this with using the portal machine that was made to send them home. Also this guy should heard his name before after all his team spent on that planet unless he came from a different Earth from a different dimensional universe. That could be the most logical explanation to what’s happening. More importantly how could a human being transform into an equestrian in one day?

Sonic decided to put those questions in back of his mind and said to Vert gently as he looked bummed out, “Hey cheer up. I know some friends of mine who can help you get home or maybe find a way to contact your dad!”

Vert perked up at this and looked at Sonic with a surprised look on his face, “Really? You really want to help me even though I don’t even know you at all?”

Sonic nodded in response to Vert’s question as he said to the former human and gave a confident yet kind smile on his muzzle, “Absolutely! Once we find some of my friends who are probably on Terra as well with some help from Eques we’ll be able to get you home!”

Vert didn’t know what to say as he smiled at the blue hero and said to him in a grateful tone of voice, “Thanks Sonic. I… don’t know what to say.”

Sonic just smiled back and said to the former human like it was an everyday occurrence for him, “Hey you’re not only one who wants to get back home. So are you going to tell me your name or not?”

Vert remembered that part before the two got sidetracked about the whole fact he was actually a human being in an equestrian form and that Sonic was from another world. The former human scratched his mane with his right foreleg and said to the blue hero, “I’m Vert. Vert Wheeler.”

Vert held out his left foreleg which Sonic responded by holding out his own right foreleg and the two shook them like a handshake before the two new friends let go before they heard beeping from the computer terminal behind them. The two stallions saw that the download and copying of the files of from the base’s computer database was complete as the bar in the middle was full. Sonic smiled at this and went over to the computer terminal and pulled out the jump drive which surprised Vert a bit. So he then asked the blue blur, “Hey Sonic what’s on that jump drive?”

Sonic looked at the former human racer and said to Vert, “Intel Vert. I was sent here with a new friend of mine from a Equestrian military base not far from this place to gather intelligence on what these people are doing here in first place and what they’re elemental wielding creatures are, but also rescue my new friend’s little sister who’s also here like you are now!”

Vert was surprised by this and said to Sonic as he wasn’t the only here in this place, “Wait a minute?! You’re saying someone else been captured by these guys too?!”

Sonic nodded in response and said to Vert as an added note, “Yeah and the strange thing is… my new friend sounds just like you.”

“Sounds just like me?”, replied Vert as he never expected that part to come out of Sonic’s mouth. How could someone on this world that sound like him?

But then Vert remembered something before he changed into a Pegasus as one of the attackers that ambushed him and his Dad’s team called the creatures with the elemental powers something. What was it exactly? This made Vert think hard as he tried to remember what was that word until it came to him at last. Pokémon. That’s what those creatures with the elemental powers and abilities were called.

Vert then said to Sonic about what he just remembered about those elemental creatures, “Actually Sonic I think I know what those elemental wielding creatures are called!”

Sonic gained a surprised look on his face and said to the former human, “Really?!”

“Yeah! They’re called Pokémon! I overheard one of the guys that attacked me and my dad’s team say that word before I woke up in this lab as a pegasus stallion!”, replied Vert as he told Sonic what he remembered from the last time he was awake.

Sonic nodded in reply as they now had a name to what these creatures were and whatever the jump drive downloaded from this base’s database it may have more information on these Pokémon. But right now the two had to meet up with Shining and help him get Twilight before they were discovered by the personal of the base. Soon the blue blur said to Vert with a smile on his muzzle, “That’s definitely come in handy. Anyways we need to go find my friend and make sure he’s okey. He’s probably at the main lab now trying to rescue his sister!”

A determined look formed on Vert’s face as he said to the blue hero as eager to help his new friend, “Ok! I don’t know what I can do in this new form of mine, but I’ll do my best help you out Sonic!”

Sonic smiled at this before he opened the door to lab 2 and let Vert out who didn’t need to be told what to do as they had to head for the main laboratory. Once he was out Sonic closed the door behind him and chased after Vert as the two raced to meet up with Shining. Sonic just hoped they were too late to help him rescue Twilight, but now with a extra pair hooves on their side the possibility of a mission accomplished is more likely to happen.

At the same time Shining had arrived at the main laboratory as he was outside one of the two doors leading to the two operating rooms. So far he hadn’t been spotted by any humans and could feel Twilight’s presence nearby with his magic. However, something felt strange as if Twilight’s magical energy was getting weaker or being drained by something. But what had Shining secretly scared what the operating room doors matched the same ones from his nightmare after he got knocked out by that electric attack. It couldn’t be a coincidence. Right?

Soon Shining quietly walked up to the door and stood up on his back legs to allow himself to see what was going on inside the room through one of the windows of the OR doors. However, the white unicorn stallion got a shocking terrifying shock as his eyes went wide in fear at what he was seeing. The room matched what he saw in his nightmare, but this time it had humans wearing surgical gowns, rubber glosses, surgical caps, and surgical masks over their noses and mouths. There two of those elemental power wielding creatures both of them had ears that could indicate that strong hearing and had medical clothing made just for them.

However, what caught Shining’s attention was Twilight as she strapped down to lab like operating table with a light blue blanket over her body with the same hospital gown from before. She was also had black anesthesia mask identical to the one from Shining’s dream with the hoses and anesthetic machine the as said dream. But the biggest shock of all was the same strange machine that was extracting Twilight’s magic which was also the same from the dream as Shining saw the pump’s hose bulge as it extracted his sister’s magic from her horn turning it into a liquified form and put into a cylinder like container. However, Twilight was still awake and the anesthetic hadn’t taken effect yet as Shining saw Twilight in great pain. 

Twilight breathed heavily from her mask sucking in the oxygen and sedative to numb the pain of her magic energy being extracted by a machine. Her horn felt it was on fire and her own strength was slipping from her and really wanted Shining to find her. She wanted to be out this nightmare and get out of this place not knowing that was just outside the room.

Shining quickly got down to his legs and realized that his nightmare was telling the future and knew he had to save Twilight and get back her extracted magic from that machine before it was too late. But how could he do this all by himself without help? He had no idea where Sonic was or did he managed to find that pegasus stallion was also here too, but if he waited to long it could be too late to help Twilight.

Shining kept thinking of a way inside until he felt something touch him on his back. The older unicorn stallion quickly turned around to see what touched him only to come face to face with Sonic who had his oxygen mask off his muzzle and Vert who had taken off his gown and looked ready for action had just arrived at the nick of time as Shining said to the blue blur with surprise in his voice, “Sonic!”

Sonic smirked and said to the unicorn stallion with a confident tone of voice, “Don’t think I would leave a friend that needs a hoof in rescuing his sister? By the way I found our captured pegasus here at this base!”

Shining looked at Vert who then waved a hello at the unicorn stallion with his right foreleg before he looked at Sonic and said to him, “Okey. Does he know he have a name?”

Sonic nodded in reply which indicated that the stallion did have a name and let Vert walk up to the unicorn stallion and said to with a smile on his muzzle, “My name is Vert. Vert Wheeler.”

Shining was surprised by this stallion has a voice that sounded just like his, but younger around 18 years old. The unicorn stallion unhooked the right side of his oxygen mask from his helmet before pulling it off showing his muzzle as a smile formed on his face. Soon Shining held his left foreleg and said to this new stallion, “Nice to meet you Vert. I’m Shining Armor. You know we sound the same.”

Vert had to agree with that notion as he was gripping the fact that the unicorn stallion exactly like himself, but older and more military background before Sonic told Shining about their new friend, “Yeah. And Vert here too used to be a human being until he transformed into his present appearance.”

Shining’s mouth dropped open as he was shocked by this and looked at Vert who smiles sheepishly at the stallion saying to him, “Heh… yeah Sonic is telling the truth about that part of me being human.”

This took the cake for Shining as he was at a total loss of what was happening around him. First Sonic became an equestrian thanks to Chaos Control from his world sending him to Eques and now Vert who was actually a human being became one as well. He never knew it was possible for a human to become a equestrian.

Sonic decided to change the awkward subject to a more pressing matter like where was Twilight right now as he asked Shining, “Well talk about the details about that later. Right now Shining do you know where Twilight is?”

Shining snapped out of his daze as he shook his head before looking at Sonic and said to him with a nod, “I do Sonic! She in that laboratory like operating room right behind me and I think those humans are extracting her magic from her horn!”

Sonic’s eyes went wide before he opened his wings and started flapping them to get a look at what was going on inside the room. Sure enough he saw group humans medical gear found in operating rooms with two of these Pokémon creatures that Vert mentioned and these had sensitive ears of kind and were wearing similar clothing like the humans. However, when the blue hero saw Twilight it was clear that they had to act immediately to save her from the machine that was draining her magic.

Sonic landed back on the ground and looked at Shining as he said to him, “We got to get Twilight out of there now!”

“I know Sonic and that’s why I got an idea!”, replied Shining urgently as he opened a pocket of his pressure suit and used his magic to pull out a standard issue Equestrian military smoke grenade.

Sonic looked at the smoke grenade with Vert who thought Shining was a bit crazy thinking it was a bit excessive. Vert thought it was one of those explosive grenades that the US military used on the battlefield before Sonic looked at Shining and said to him with a raised eyebrow, “Uh Shining? I don’t think using an explosive weapon like a grenade to knock out those humans is good idea. It’ll just take Twilight out with them!”

Shining shook his head and said to the Blue Blur with a smile on his muzzle, “Sonic this grenade isn’t the type that explodes. It’s a smoke grenade. It creates a smokescreen to give soldiers cover on the battlefield.”

That made a lot more sense to Sonic and Vert could tell where this was going. They were going to throw this smoke grenade into the room which in turn created a smokescreen and give them the opportunity to knock out those humans with those two Pokémon with them. Vert looked at the two stallions and asked them, “So we’re going to use this smoke grenade to give us cover and we’re going to knock those guys in that room out?”

Sonic looked at the former human racer and nodded in reply saying to him with a grin, “Yep! We can use your help on this Vert. Up from some payback on guys?”

Vert smiles back at Sonic and nodded in agreement as he had a bone to pick with these guys for locking him up in a lab and capturing him. Now with the former human onboard with their plan Shining said to him as he pulled out an advanced military goggle from his military saddle bag with his right foreleg that was equipped with the same technology that their visors had installed, “Here Vert. You’re going to need this if you’re going to see through the smoke!”

Vert picked up the goggle from Shining’s foreleg with his left foreleg before putting over his eyes which fitted comfortably around his head. Once they were on the goggles came online as Vert saw they had an advanced HUD display like on the visors for Air Force pilots as he said in amazement, “Wow. Awesome gear!”

Sonic nodded in reply and said to him that he hadn’t seen anything yet, “Yeah just wait until we get out of here and see more!”

Soon Shining said to the two blue stallions knowing they had to switch to thermal vision setting of their visors and goggle, “Ok guys switch to thermal mode!”

Sonic and Vert nodded in agreement as they touched their respective gears’ visual settings switching to thermal setting. Vert had some difficulty, but Sonic helped him out a bit before he got to the right setting for his goggle. Shining soon did the same thing for his helmet’s visor setting before he and Sonic reattached their oxygen masks to their helmets taking breaths from their air supplies.

Once they were ready to do their ambush Shining used his magic to pull out the trigger to make the smoke grenade live. After that he used his magic to levitate the smoke grenade and said to Sonic and Vert, “Smoke out!”

Shining threw the smoke grenade low as it rolled under the OR’ doors and into the room just under the table that Twilight was on. None of the humans or the two Pokémon saw it until it was too late. Seconds later black and grey smoke were released from the grenade quickly filling the room causing the humans inside and the two Pokémon to cough as they were blinded by the smoke. 

As they were coughing one of the humans exclaimed in shock and confusion to one of his colleagues, “What’s going on?!”

“Someone must of thrown a smoke grenade into the room!”, replied a female human as she coughing and blinded by the smoke.

At that moment Sonic, Vert, and Shining barged into the room and began to silently knock out the humans in the room. Two of the humans were close together getting lost in the smoke not knowing a winged figure was coming out from the smoke behind them. Appearing out of the smoke was Vert who had a mischievous look on his face and tapped on the two’s shoulders with his forelegs and said to them, “Hey guys! Nightly night!”

The two humans hear Vert’s voice and turned around before Vert slammed their heads face first into each other with hard force with his forelegs. The two men fell to the ground moaning in pain before they blacked out from Vert’s attack. That took care two of them now it was time to move onto the others.

In another part of the room three more scientists were wondering around when one of them was yanked backwards into into the smoke by pressure suit covered foreleg and exclaimed in disbelief, “Whoa-!“

The two other scientists looked behind them and noticed their companion missing as the one in front of said in concern, “Mack? Where are you?! Where’d you go?!”

Suddenly the first one behind the 2nd scientist was pulled down to the floor by something strong below them yelling, “Hey!!”

The second scientist turned around to see the first scientist was missing now too and said out loud in confusion in a female voice, “Carl?! Come on guys this isn’t funny!”

The female scientist backed up a bit in fear, but didn’t see Sonic flapping his wings right behind her and lightly tapped her on the shoulder making her turn around to look right at him. The humans’ eyes went wide with shock as Sonic said to her from his oxygen mask’s microphone in a smug tone, “Hello.”

Soon Sonic pulled back his left foreleg and sent it at the human’s face and knocked her out cold sending her to the ground with strong force. The blue blur looked down at the knocked out human as he felt a little bad for knocking her out like that, but he had to do it rescue Twilight. Pretty soon their smokescreen was going to ware off and when that happens then things would turn ugly.

Meanwhile in another part of the room the lead scientist and her assistant with the two Pokémon with the ears, the pink fur, and the blue eyes called Audino were looking around the room trying to find out what was going on as they were close to Twilight on her OR table. As they looked around the lead scientist said to her assistant, “Andy were you able to contact Ash for me?! We need his help!

The assistant looked at the lead scientist and shook his head and said to her in dismay, “I can’t call your husband Serena! With all this smoke in the room I can’t even tell where the computer terminal is or even the alarm!”

The lead female researcher named Serena just looked around her surroundings with worry as they had no idea what was going on presently. She looked at her Audino and said to it with concern, “Hear anything Audino?”

Serena’s Audino looked back at her and shook its head saying to her as the it could hear sounds of pain and wailing as the entire room was in chaos, “Audino.”

Suddenly they heard pumping of an assault rifle causing the group to tense up instantly as the sound was coming from the front of them. At the moment magenta colored mana stun bullets shot out of the smoke in front of them hitting the first Audino with direct hit as it yelled out loud, “AUDIIII…”

The 2nd Audino went down completely knocked out to the stun bullets as the assistant named Andy exclaimed in disbelief, “Audino!!”

Soon two more stun bullets shot off the smoke and knocked out Andy as it slumped to the ground leaving Serena and her Audino the only ones standing. The two looked around trying to figure who fired off that rifle moment ago and since whoever it was did it from the front he or she were right in front of them. Suddenly Shining burst out of the smoke and knocked out Audino with a hook like punch from his right foreleg. Then he went after Serena as he used the unconscious form of Audino to act as a springboard and landed on the table right front of Serena who was surprised by the stallion’s sudden appearance and exclaimed to her in a angry tone of voice, “GET AWAY FROM MY LITTLE SISTER!!”

Shining charged up a stun spell from his horn and fired a magenta colored beam at the human female and knocked her out cold at it made contact. She slumped to the ground before the human female fell to the ground moaning in stunned pain. At that moment the smoke from the smoke grenade dissipated revealing Sonic and Vert who had knocked out the other human scientists with no trouble. As that was finished Vert said to Sonic and Shining as the two stallions unhooked their oxygen masks from their helmets, “Well that was easy!”

Sonic looked back at Vert and said to him with a slight frown on his muzzle, “Yeah… that was the easy part, but the hard part is getting out of here!”

Vert had to agree with Sonic as Shining managed to turn off the anesthetic machine and the machine that was draining Twi’s magic from her horn with his magic. Once that was finished he took off the mask on Twilight’s muzzle who moaned in pain before Shining took the strange nozzle over his sister’s horn off with said magic. At that moment Shining said to Twilight knowing they had to get her out of this place, “Hang in there sis. We’re getting you home now!”

Sonic came over to the machine that extracted a bit of Twi’s magic and managed to pull off the container from the machine. Once he was done with that the blue blur decided to destroy the machine by giving it a powerful kick with his back legs. The kick sent the machine flying back into the nearby wall and caused it to breaking into a million pieces. At that moment the Blue Blur said to Vert and Shining as the white unicorn stallion levitated his sister onto his back, “There! That’ll make sure these guys don’t extract more magic from unicorns again!”

Vert had to agree with the blue blur as they had to make their escape and said to him, “Then let’s get out of here!”

“I agree!”, agreed Shining as it was time to bail out of this place with Twilight and the canister that had the liquified magic extracted from the lavender unicorn.

At that moment the trio with their cargo ran out of the room and into the main hallway. Leaving the human scientists and the two Pokémon in the OR lab moaning and knocked out from the unexpected attack from the trio. However, what the trio didn’t know was that things were going get complicated.

As the trio with their cargo ran down the security camera filled hallway Vert noticed all the security cameras weren’t noticing them like they were invisible. The former human looked at Sonic and Shining and asked them with a confused look on his face, “Uh guys? Why aren’t the security cameras detecting us?”

Sonic looked back at Vert and said to him with a smile on his face, “Well before I found you in that lab Vert Shining casted a advanced illusion spell on the cameras to mask our presence when we infiltrated the base! Kind of like advanced camouflage you might say!”

Vert was impressed with what he heard and said to Shining, “Wow Shining I didn’t know you knew something like that!”

Shining looked back at Vert and said to the former human with a bit of a smile on his muzzle, “Thanks Vert. But the spell I casted is temporary I don’t know how much longer it will last!”

However, Sonic soon found out that the spell wore off as the cameras began looking straight at them and said to Shining in a nervous voice, “Uh Shining! I think time is up!”

Shining and Vert looked up to see the cameras looking at them causing the two other stallions to cringe in fear as the illusion spell wore off. One by one the cameras locked onto the trio carrying Twilight and the tank of extracted magic from the unicorn. The trio screeched to a halt as they looked at the cameras who were locked onto them with different looks on their faces with Sonic having a grimace on his face, Shining had a scowl on his face as he had his sister on his back, and Vert had a nervous look on his own face knowing they were caught red handed and had a feeling they were about to get shot at.

Soon Vert said to Sonic in a concerned tone of voice, “You guys had to say something didn’t you.”

“Not the time to argue right now Vert!”, replied Sonic as the cameras began to deploy small lasers on top of them. All of them were set to stun to make sure the trio didn’t escape from the base with their main lab specimen and the extracted sample of the magic from the unicorn pony.

Sonic soon said to Shining and Vert as it was time to run and fast as they had to reach the exit before they get caught, “Guys! Get ready to run and try to keep up with me!”

Shining nodded in reply as did Vert before Sonic raced forward and the two other stallions raced after him. At that moment the lasers from the cameras began firing at the trio as the they ran down the hallway dodging stun laser beams from both sides of the hallway. If Sonic didn’t have anything on his back presently he could put his new friends alongside Twilight on his back and use his signature speed to reach the exit.

As they kept running down the hallway the base’s alarm went off and an electronic voice came and said out loud through out the base, “INTRUDER ALERT! CORRIDOR F!”

The same message repeated over and over as Sonic and company ran past more security cameras dodging their laser blasts. As they came around a corner they saw their exit point which led up to the structure above ground. A smile formed on Sonic’s muzzle and exclaimed to his friends, “There’s our exit guys!”

Shining smiled at this and said to Sonic, “Good eyes Sonic! Let’s get out of here!”

The blue blur nodded in reply and opened up his wings before he starting using them and positioned himself above Shining who used his magic to levitate Twilight off his back allowing the sky blue stallion to grab him with his forelegs. Sonic began to lit Shining into the air before the white unicorn stallion levitated Twilight over to him and held her by her belly with his forelegs. Vert followed in suit as he opened his own wings and managed to get up off the ground as he flapped his new wings. As the reached the shaft the two pegasi flew up towards the top of the shaft dodging laser blasts at high speed. Vert had never gone this before in his life except behind a car, but now he felt like he was a living airplane.

As the neared the top Sonic yelled to Shining as they were nearing the roof of the building, “Shining! We need an opening!”

“On it!!”, exclaimed Shining as he charged up his horn and fired a powerful magic energy blast from said horn which made contact with the roof as it exploded on impact.

Vert quickly flew behind Sonic just in time as the dust cloud from the explosion revealed a large hole in the sealing allowing the trio to escape into the outside world. Everyone could feel the coldness of the temperatures now, but the two pegasi flew high into the air and headed south towards the extraction point where Forest and the others were probably waiting for them. The group managed to get out of the base now they had to get away before a pursuit team could catch them.

As the group made a lot of distance from the human base Vert said to Sonic and Shining as he shivered to the cold temperatures, “Brrrr! Talk about being cold! Where’re going anyway?!”

Sonic looked at Vert and said to him with a small smile on his muzzle, “The extraction point Vert! There’s another military team that’s going to pick us up before taking back to base!”

Shining soon added to the statement as he held onto Twilight with his forelegs, “Yeah! Let’s just hope those humans don’t send a pursuit team after us to complicate things!”

But Shining spoke too soon as different long ranged attacks were fired at them from the ground causing the two pegasi to take evasive action. Once the attacks stopped Vert exclaimed to the duo in shock, “What was that?!”

Sonic looked back and then down towards the ground and saw a pursuit team on the ground chasing them and on top of several winter conditioned vehicles were more Pokémon firing off long ranged attacks like missiles going after jet planes. Soon the blue blur said to Shining and Vert as they had trouble on their tails, “Guys! We got trouble below us!”

Shining and Vert looked back towards the sight and saw the vehicles chasing them from the ground as that didn’t made their day at all. However, something was flying towards them which looked a strange black, blue, and purple colored dragon with three heads one in the center and the other two acted like arms. Suddenly the dragon like creature was encased in neon blue aura forming what looked like a dragon barreling towards them as the strange dragon exclaimed the stallions, “HYDREIIGON!!”

Vert looks at Sonic and exclaims to him as they were about to be attacked by the strange dragon Pokémon, “SONIC!! SHINING!! LOOK OUT!!”

Sonic saw the dragon just in time to dodge the strange attack just in time, but Shining lost his grip on Twilight and accidentally let her go causing her to free fall towards the ground. A horrified look from on Shining’s face and exclaimed in horror, “TWILIGHT!!! NOOO!!”

Suddenly Shining broke free of Sonic’s grip and raced for Twilight hoping to catch her in time before she hit the ground. Sonic and Vert looked down in at where Shining was going in disbelief as they knew they had to catch them before it was too late. Sonic soon exclaimed to Vert as he raced after the two unicorns, “Come on Vert!”

Vert quickly followed the blue blur flapping his new wings as fast he could as the strange dragon Pokémon flew back to the humans on the ground for more orders. They were unaware that a great change was about to happen to Shining. A change that will change his life forever.

The wind howled against Shining’s face as he tried to reach Twilight before they reached the ground which was coming up fast. The white unicorn stallion knew he had to speed himself up somehow to reach his sister as with all the drag on him. That’s until an idea flew into his brain which might work.

Without hesitation Shining brought all his legs in to make himself more aerodynamic allowing him to pick up speed and catch up to his sister. He managed to pick up enough speed to catch Twilight with his forelegs, but he saw that the ground was coming up fast and he had to teleport out of there before it was too late! However, at the rate they were going to smash into the ground and hurt each other badly before Shining can cast a teleportation spell in time. 

As the ground was getting closer Shining tried to think of something to get out of this situation until he looked at the unconscious form of Twilight in his forelegs. As he stared at her everything what happened between them two years ago flew by him as he remembered the promise he made to his family that he was going to find and bring her little sister home safe and sound. He let Twilight down once, but this time Shining won’t let that happen again.

He had come too far to give up now! As the ground got closer and closer Shining closed his eyes and thought about Twilight and their family. Moments of his childhood to the present day flew past him and felt something inside him awaken a dormant power or something else entirely. A faint magenta colored sphere began to form around the two siblings as the ground began to get even closer to them.

At that moment Shining thought to himself as he vowed to himself as he finally forgive himself for what happened to him two years ago, ‘Twilight. I’m sorry for what I did you two years ago and wasn’t there for you when you were hurting. But this time… I won’t let you down again!’

The magenta colored sphere began to get brighter and brighter as Shining was beginning to glow in a white aura catching everyone’s attention before the white unicorn stallion at last awaken his untouched and unwavering true potential yelling out loud, “I WILL PROTECT YOU WITH VERY LAST BREATH!!!”

Suddenly the sphere’s light intensified becoming a magenta and white sphere engulfing both Twilight and Shining as everyone watched in shock at what just happened. However, the sphere was nearing the ground fast and Sonic was about to charge in save both Shining and Twilight before they smashed into got the ground hard. However, fate had other plans that Sonic nor Vert realized about.

Then as the magenta sphere neared the ground about 150 feet it sharply flew up at high speed missing the floor of the snow covered ground and into the air. Sonic and Vert were shocked at what were seeing as Shining not only saved Twilight, but also pulled up just in time to prevent a tragic accident. However, how was Shining doing it? It was almost like he had… wings.

The sphere then flew up to the two pegasi stallions just the light vanished revealing Shining holding Twilight with his forelegs baby style, but the white stallion had dramatically changed and wasn’t a unicorn anymore. On both sides of his military pressure suited body had white and blue wings flapping in the air creating lift for him while his eyes glowed white with a calm yet determined look on his face with his horn which grew a few inches and was sharper now. Sonic and Vert couldn’t believe what they were seeing as their friend saved Twilight from certain doom.

As the two stallions looked at their friend holding Twilight in his forelegs Sonic asked Shining in utter disbelief at his new transformation, “Shining?! Is that you?!”

Shining didn’t respond, but calmly nodded at Sonic indicating that it was really him in the flesh. What Sonic and Vert didn’t know was that Shining had ascended into a alicorn stallion after his determination and the rekindled spirit of his courage as he always had his honor as he restored it while risking his life to save Twi. Thanks to all those positive emotions and his spirit which was now roaring fire Shining discovered his dormant true potential within him. That explained his new wings and horn’s growth as he felt reborn and stronger than every before now he was going to show these humans and their mysterious pets how much power he now possessed.

Soon Shining’s horn flare up with the magenta color aura around it which surrounded Twilight before levitating her over to Vert who caught her with his forelegs before the aura vanished around her unconscious body. Vert held onto the unicorn with all his arm strength that his new forelegs can muster, but was strong enough to hold her before Shining turned around and looked down at the strange suited humans with their elemental pets before flying down and was right above the ground. The humans and their Pokémon just stared at the new alicorn with shock after they witnessed his ascension as a angry scowl formed on Shining’s face.

It wasn’t long until Shining landed on the ground and looked at the attacking group who were looking at him from the distance. They had the nerve to go after his sister and do this to her while treating her as a thing and not living being. It’s high time that someone teaches them a lesson when you mess with someone’s younger siblings then they answer to their older siblings.

Soon one of the male humans probably the 2nd command of the pursuit group said to his comrades in shock, “Uh… did you guys see that just now?!”

One of the other men of the pursuit team soon said to the 2nd in command in a matching tone of voice and look, “Yeah. That white stallion just grew wings in that sphere! How did he do that?!”

Soon the leader of the pursuit team said to the men that was under his command with a stern look on his face, “Never mind that men! We’ll let the docs and scientists figure that out when we bring this stallion back to base with Subjects 1 and 2 including the sky blue one that’s holding the tank of the liquified energy that the machine extracted! Now let’s knock out this one first then we can start on the other 3! Hydreigon use Dragonbreath on that stallion!”

Soon the strange hydra like dragon called Hydreigon obeyed it’s human partner as yelled out loud a blue colored dragon fire began to form its mouth of the middle head and fired it at Shining in a blast of blue fire, “HYDREIIIIGON!!!”

Then the rest of the pursuit team commanded their own Pokémon to attack Shining from the 2nd In command to the 4 soldiers, “Houndoom use your Flamethrower on that stallion!/Rhyperior use your Rock Wrecker attack!/Stoutland use Hyper Beam!/Luxray use your Charge Beam attack!/Scolipede used Venom Blast!”

Soon the canine Pokémon called Houndoom opened its mouth and yelled out loud as it unleashed a torrent of fire at Shining, “HOOOOUNDOOOOOOM!!”

“LUUUUUUXRAAAAAAAAY!!”, Exclaimed the black, yellow, and blue Pokemon called Luxray as it created blue colored electricity around itself before firing it at Shining as a beam of electrical energy.

The centipede like Pokémon called Scolipede bellowed out loud as it fired a blast of poisonous purple colored liquid at Shining, “SCOLAAAAAPEEEEEDE!!!”

“STOOOOUUUTLAND!!”, roared Stoutland as it opened its mouth and a powerful orange colored blast was shot off from its mouth at Shining.

Soon Rhyperior brought its arms together in front of its body as small rocks in a red aura were brought together and formed a large boulder which made its arms to spread out a bit more and fired the boulder at Shining yelling at him, “RHHHHHYPERIIIOR!!!”

All 6 long ranged attacks flew towards Shining who wasn’t even scared a bit as Sonic yelled at the alicorn stallion, “SHINING GET OUT OF THERE!!”

But Shining didn’t move as all six long ranged attacks merged into a massive mixed beam heading for him Shining without beating a eye as he created a shield with his magic as his horn ignited in the usual magenta colored aura as dome like shield which looked more powerful than his normal shield spell appeared around him. The beam struck the shield, but to everyone’s surprise and disbelief it wasn’t cracking or shaking at all until an explosion occurred covering the area in smoke and heat. Everyone was blinded by the explosion until it settled down as everything went quiet as the smoke covered where Shining and his shield once stood. However, everyone soon found out the alicorn stallion was still standing as the wind blew away the smoke revealing Shining in his spot with not one scratch on his body and all that massive attack did was make him mad.

Soon Shining said to the humans and Pokémon in a low tone as he spoke for the first time since he transformed into an alicorn, “My turn…”

Then Shining’s horn ignited again this time the aura around it got stronger and more intense as he charged up a massive amount of magic as everyone heard a sound of rapidly building up of energy. The aura kept getting stronger and stronger with streaks of light blue coming from it sparking and streaking from it like lightning until it reached full power as Shining let out a almighty battlecry as he released his charged up energy from his horn before firing it like out of a cannon as a huge beam and it was magenta with a light blue center. Sonic and Vert were shocked at what they were seeing as Shining’s attack struck their targets sending them flying backwards towards their base wailing and yelling in pain and disbelief as they were sent packing before they disappeared into the distance before Shining stopped his attack as the beam died down and was gone in seconds.

At that moment Shining’s eyes returned to normal as looked at the battlefield he was just in sane said with disbelief at what he just did was beyond amazing, “Whoa! Did I really do that?!”

Soon he felt his new wings and Shining looked at his new limbs with utter amazement. The white stallion couldn’t believe what he was seeing or was this a dream, but this was real. He had ascended into a alicorn. More importantly an alicorn stallion.

At last Shining spoke to himself in disbelief saying in a shocked and amazed tone of voice, “I… I don’t believe it… I’m a… alicorn now?!”

Suddenly Shining heard Sonic call to him from the sky as he alongside Vert were carrying the tank containing the extracted magic from Twilight and the unconscious unicorn pony herself, “Shining!”

The newly ascended alicorn stallion looked up to see Sonic and Vert flying down towards him still carrying the container with Twi’s extracted liquified magic and Twilight herself. The two stallions landed on the snow covered ground with their valuable cargo as Sonic continued talking to Shining with an amazed look on his face, “I can’t believe it! You totally blew those guys and they’re Pokémon away by yourself! You never had that much magical firepower before!”

Shining just smiled at this and said to Sonic, “Well guess that comes with being an alicorn now.”

“Alicorn? What’s that?”, asked Sonic with a confused expression on his face as he never heard of an alicorn before nor did Vert as well.

Shining was about to explain when they heard a loud sound from behind them as a a Equestrian military Snow Crawler came over the nearby hill and raced down it before screeching to a halt in front of the stallion trio with the unconscious lavender unicorn and the tank of liquified magic that was taken from her. The door on the left side of the back end of the military vehicle opened up and jumping out were Forest and the rest of Shining’s squad alongside Squad 99. 

While the others made sure that there no more hostiles in the area Forest and Hunter came up to Sonic and Shining as they knew they completed their mission. Soon Forest said to the duo with a smile on his muzzle, “Good job you two!”

Sonic smiled at this said to the green earth stallion, “Well it was nothing Forest, but I think the real hero today is Shining cause you might want to take a look at him.”

Forest raised an eyebrow at what Sonic meant by that and glanced at Shining before he saw the new wings. A shocked look formed on his face and looked at Shining saying to him, “Shining?! Did you become a…”

Shining nodded in response and said to Forest with smile on his muzzle, “Yep. I’m now a alicorn stallion.”

Hunter who saw this as well looked at Shining’s new blue and white wings that now were on his left and right sides of his body asked him, “How is that possible? I never knew ponies could ascend into alicorns!”

But before Shining could say anything to Hunter or Forest about his new appearance Vert interrupted the conversation saying to them, “Um guys. I hate to be a bit rude, but do you think we should get out of here before those guys coming back with reinforcements!”

Hunter and Forest looked at each other and nodded in agreement even though neither Sonic or Shining introduced them to this pegasus stallion who strangely sounded like Shining himself. It wasn’t long until both squads went back into their vehicle with the stallion trio in tow with the tank of liquified magic and Twilight herself. Once inside and in their seats the snow crawler raced away with the two military squads inside with their retrieved rescue team.

(Minutes later;)

Minutes passed and the joint team were nearing Fort Blizzarton as the Snow Crawler raced back to the base as Sharpshot with Forest as his co-driver was going as fast as the vehicle can go keeping on the gas pedal rocketing up in the 90s near the 100 mile per hour mile mark. In the back of the vehicle which was a mobile lab and med lab with medical equipment in there as Sonic and Vert were sitting in seats with the blue blur holding the canister of the liquified magic that was extracted from Twilight while Shining was holding Twi’s right foreleg as the lavender unicorn was on the stretcher breathing hard and holding on with the strength she had left. Ice wasn’t far away as she was checking Twi’s vital signs which were slowly improving, but not as much that Ice was hoping for as Shining’s sister was still in rough condition.

Squad 99 was in upper part of the back that was made as a personal carrier with several computers with a direct connection to the Equestrian military’s database. Tech was busy decoding the large amount intel that Sonic and Shining had downloaded from the hidden human base trying to get some files decoded so they can be read. However, everyone was concerned about Twilight’s physical condition. 

Back in the back Ice knew Twilight was going to need surgery done when they get back to base, but the best she can do right now was stabilize her condition. As Shining said to Twilight with a concerned look on his face, “Hang in there sis. We’re almost there!”

Twilight was taking heavy breaths and moaning in pain after going through the painful experience with those humans and their elemental pets as her entire body felt like it was on fire. As Sonic watched Twilight fighting for her life he looked at Ice with a concerned look on his face, “Can you do something for her Ice?”

Ice looked at Sonic and said to him as there was one thing she could do and that was give Twi light sedation which would help ease her pain, “I can give her light sedation which will ease the pain for Twilight. But until we reach the base she’ll need to have heavy sedation administered to her.”

Soon the female unicorn medical officer went over to the side and pulled out a anesthetic cart equipped with the basic anesthetic tanks and oxygen tanks with hoses that were light grey and a anesthesia mask that was clear with a blue rubber colored padding. She quickly opened the valves on the machine with her magic before levitating the anesthesia mask over to Twilight and placed it on her muzzle. The unicorn pony felt the mask on her muzzle with her breathing becoming muffled as a sweet scent entered her nostrils.

Twilight felt scared at that moment and wanted to thrash around in panic, but she heard her brother’s voice say to her trying to calm her down, “It’s ok Twilight! Just calm down! You need to take deep breaths!”

Twi did as she started to take slow deep breaths as the anesthetic entered her lungs and began to numb the pain. The light sedation was beginning to work on her as Twilight’s body began to relax and everything was slightly spinning it a bit. However, this was a temporary solution which was to make sure she made it back to base.

As Twilight was breathing the light sedative through the clear and blue rubber mask on her muzzle Sonic looked at Shining who was holding his little sister’s right foreleg. He could see the very worried look on the alicorn stallion’s face as he praying that Twilight can hold on long enough until they reach the base in time. After two years of searching for his sister Shining managed to find her, but was now concerned on her wellbeing after the experience she went through moments ago.

Just then the vehicle stopped and everyone heard Forest from the front of the vehicle saying to the group via the intercom of the snow based vehicle, “Guys we’re back at the base!”

After that Ice turned off the small anesthetic machine before Shining levitated Twilight onto his back who was lightly numbed thanks to the light sedation. The door to the back section of the vehicle opened up and Shining was met with Med and several military medical personal with an empty stretcher for Twilight. Shining levitated Twilight off his back and onto the stretcher as Med said to his companions with an urgent voice, “Quicky! Rush Twilight to the Operating Room immediately! We need to stabilize her immediately!”

One of the group a unicorn pony with a pink coat and light blue mane nodded in reply and said to Med, “You got it Doc! Come on guys!”

At that moment Ice Mist decided to go with them knowing that they needed all the help they could get in stabilizing Twilight’s condition as she said to Shining and the others, “I’m going with them to help take care of Twilight!”

Without another word and a nod from Forest the group alongside Ice quickly rushed Twilight to the medical wing while the icy blue unicorn mare helped monitor Twi’s vitals and condition which was slowly improving. Med was about to join them when he heard Sonic’s voice behind him, “Med wait!”

Med stopped and looked to see Sonic carrying the container that was held Twilight’s liquified magic that the humans extracted from the unicorn pony. Med was shocked at what he was seeing and said in disbelief, “By Solarius’ light… is that magic you’re carrying?!”

Sonic nodded in reply and said to the head medical officer of the base’ medical wing grimly, “Yeah the humans extracted it from Twilight by some kind of magic vacuum sucking machine that was put on her horn and drained some of Twi’s energy. It turned it into a liquified form, but only managed to get a small amount before I destroyed it to make sure it was never used again!”

Med’s horn ignited in a light blue glow and levitated the container that Sonic had over to him as he inspected it. He was fascinated, surprised, and shocked at the same time as he never knew that humans were able to find a way to extract a unicorn’s magic from their horn and turn it into a liquid form. Soon Shining said to him with a concerned look on his face, “Med can you give the extracted magic that the machine took from my sister and put her back into her horn?”

Med looked at Shining and nodded in reply as he said to him, “I think we can Shining. We were testing a new experimental magic reinfusion procedure just for unicorns, but considering what happened with your sister today I guess have to preform it on her.”

Shining nods in agreement as Med races off for the med bay to get ready to surgery for Twilight. The white alicorn stallion had a concerned look on his face hoping Twilight was going to be okey. Soon he looked at Forest who nodded in reply and said to him, “You can go.”

Shining nodded in reply before racing off for the medical wing and was followed by Sonic and Vert who knew the white alicorn stallion was going to need some company as he waited for Twilight to be done with her surgery. Sharpshot tried to stop them, but Forest stopped as the red stallion looked at green stallion who shook his head. They needed to be there for Shining during this moment cause this was going to be intense moment for him. Sharpshot looked back at where Sonic and Vert disappeared to and knew it was for the best. He hoped that Twilight would pull through this moment.

It felt like minutes as Shining arrived just outside the OR as he saw Ice Mist and several other military surgeons including Med Clamp in surgical gowns, caps, and hoof covers for their forelegs. Surgical masks were over their muzzles except for Ice Mist who had the bottom part of her mask tied around her neck. The alicorn stallion came up to the icy blue unicorn pony who noticed him arrive and asked her with concern if there was any news on Twilight’s condition, “How’s Twilight doing Ice?”

Ice looked at Shining with a mixed look on her face and said to him, “Twilight’s vitals are improving, but her injuries still need major tending too. She’s already in OR and I was about to go in and help get the operation started.”

Shining lightly nods in reply before he said to Ice with a concerned and pleading look on his face, “Ice… please watch over Twilight while you’re in there.”

Ice nodded in reply as Shining knew she gave him her word before she tied on the last part of her surgical mask with her magic before putting it over her muzzle. Then she went through the doors to the OR just as Sonic and Vert arrived just in time to see Ice go inside. They knew that Twi’s surgery was just starting.

The doors to the Operating Room closed behind Ice and the red light above the door turned on as Shining, Sonic, and Vert waited outside as Twilight’s surgery and magic energy infusion procedure from the canister that Sonic brought back that was had the liquified magic energy from Twilight’s horn began. The stallion trio stood there before Sonic and Vert looked at the alicorn stallion in the middle as Shining had a worried look on his face praying that Twilight would pull through. It was all up Med Clamp, Ice Mist, and Med’s medical team as Twi’s life was in their hooves, but the veteran military surgeon was a maestro and knew much about Equestrians especially unicorns like Twilight.

Time passed as Sonic and Vert were on the nearby benches waiting for any news on Twilight’s condition or even if the surgery was over. Shining just stood in his spot looking at the light up sign which was still red meaning they were still operating on Twilight. He just hoped his little sister was doing ok in there.

In the OR Twilight was on the OR table sleeping peacefully breathing through a black rubber mask that was hooked up to the anesthetic machine giving her oxygen and anesthetic to keep her under. A head harness was attached to the mask and went around her head to keep the mask secure on Twi’s muzzle with a cuff like nozzle with a hose attached to the cuff was part of machine that was changing Twilight’s extracted magic from its liquid form back to its original form that being pure magic energy and was being pumped back into Twi’s horn. Med Clamp and his team on the other hoof were working on the gowned unicorn pony’s injuries with their surgical masks on their muzzles. Med was presently removing a microchip implant that was placed in Twi’s left leg when those humans and their elemental pets had her in their lab. So far they found three identical implants on her neck, flank, and left ear now this new one was number four while several of Twilight’s injuries were taken care off and stitched up.

As he kept working on her Med looked at the anesthetic machine where Ice Mist was monitoring their patient’s vitals, the IV fluid for the IV pump, the magic energy infusion rate monitor, and breathing as the breathing bag grew and shrank with every breath that Twilight took with her slow muffled breathing. The heart monitor was showing a stable heart rate as the green electronic line went up and down at a slow stable rhythmic pace while the monitor that was tracking the reinfusion of Twilight’s extracted magic was at a slow rate, but the procedure was almost finished as the container was getting close to be empty before looking at the sleeping unicorn on the table. Med thought to himself as he looked at Twilight who was breathing peacefully in her sedated sleep, ‘We’re getting close Twilight. Stay strong a bit longer.’

Back outside the OR more time passed and by now the sun had gone down while the moon was already up with everyone already in bed. Sonic and Vert were now sleeping on the benches as a nurse had given them each a pillow and blanket earlier before they fell asleep while Shining was still in his spot waiting for Twilight to come out or at least hear some news. As he kept looking at the glowing red sign Shining looked a bit tired with the temptation to just close his eyes and drift off to sleep in his mind, but he didn’t want to as he wanted to be here for Twilight. He had searched for his little sister for 2 years and wasn’t going to leave her like he did during the wedding rehearsal. This time he was staying for her.

As Shining looked at the sign as the image of the sedated Twilight in the OR entered his mind asking her hopping some how she would hear him, ‘Twilight if you can hear me… please… stay strong…’

A bit more time passed before the red light in the sign turned off as surgery was complete as Shining gulped a bit hopping for good news. Soon Med and his team came out alongside Ice Mist as the unicorn stallion came up to the alicorn as Shining asked him with concern, “How’s Twilight Med?”

Med sighed, but gave Shining a tired yet pleased smile and said to the alicorn, “Twilight is going to be just fine. Surgery went well and all her extracted magic has been returned to her horn back in its original form. Now she needs to do is recover for a few days until she can go home.”

Shining let out a sigh of relief as a relieved look formed on his face that Twilight was going to be alright. He could count his lucky stars that Sonic and himself found and rescued Twi in time alongside Vert before something harmful could be done to them. Now the ordeal was over and could relax as Shining said to Med, “That’s a relief. Thanks for helping her Med!”

Med nodded in reply and said to Shining knowing he would want to see Twilight and see how she is doing right now, “You can go see her if you want Shining. However, you’ll have to wear a surgical gown while in the OR she’s in right now.”

Shining responded to Med by nodding back the stallion as it was most appreciated just as a nurse came out and led the white unicorn into the OR hall. Soon the duo reached the change room where surgical gowns were hanging up waiting to be put on. They soon found a gown made from Shining’s size before asked the nurse saying to her, “Um… think you can help me get my gown on?”

The unicorn pony nodded back at Shining and said to him with a smile on her muzzle, “Sure thing Shining!”

It was long until the nurse soon helped Shining get the surgical gown on with the cap and rubber hoof gloves, but left the surgical mask out as it was best Twilight saw a face without the mask on. The alicorn stallion never had a surgical gown on before, but was to make sure Twi or anyone else near recovery got sick. Soon Shining was led to the OR by the nurse which was being used as a temporary recovery room as the others were presently occupied by other patients.

The hallway looked like the rest of hospital wing of the base with recovery rooms containing patients who were recovering from their procedures and awaiting to be moved into hospital rooms. The walk wasn’t long when they arrived at their destination as the mare opened the doors to the OR and let Shining in as the alicorn saw his sister on the OR table resting from her surgery. Twilight had bandages on certain parts of her body and stitches were in places of where the more serious injuries were located and the black mask was still on her muzzle and strapped around her head breathing from the anesthetic machine which was now giving her oxygen as the rest of the other gas settings were turned off. A soft bed blanket was over body except her head and neck with a fresh bag of IV fluid was hooked up to her IV drip.

Shining walked over to the table where his sister was resting as the nurse checked on Twilight’s vital signs and said to her hoping she could hear him, “Twily? Can you hear me?”

Twi didn’t respond at first, but she heard her brother’s voice and slowly opened her eyes looking at him before saying in a tired tone of voice as the mask on her muzzle muffled her response saying to Shining, “Mm?”

The unicorn pony nurse soon came over and undid the top part of the head harness that was secured to the black mask with her magic before pulling the mask down off her muzzle allowing Twilight to speak to with Shining. They could hear the light hissing of oxygen from the anesthesia mask as Twilight asked Shining in a weak tone of voice like before seconds ago, “Shining?”

Shining smiled a little and asked Twilight as he was glad she was awake a bit, “Hey sis. I’m glad to see you’re ok now.”

There was a long silence between the two siblings as they hadn’t spoken to each other for two years and were waiting for each other to say something. Both had faults in the situation they were in that led to this moment and now this was the opportunity for each other to make amends. Soon Shining took a deep breath and said to Twilight as she looked at him, “Twily… I’m sorry for what I said to you during the wedding rehearsal and I should never have said those things to you. I’ve been through a lot of hard times since I was looking for you and it made realize that… I should have listened to you about Chrysalis being Cadence from the very beginning. After these past 2 years I could only think about you and how much I… messed up. I probably guess that you still hate me for abandoning and I can’t blame you for that. I should have been a better brother to you.”

Everything was quiet again as Shining closed his eyes and sighed as Twilight knew he was deeply sorry for his actions and suffered much for them too. Then Twilight sighed at her brother as the unicorn knew she made a lot of mistakes that did a lot of damage to the ones that she held dear 2 years ago and said to Shining, “Shining… I don’t hate you anymore… I’m so sorry for ruining your life and running away from home…”

Shining just gave Twi a little smile and knew she was sorry for everything that has happened for the past 2 years. He understood what Twilight felt during those two years as didn’t have anything against her as he forgiven her long ago as the alicorn stallion said to her kindly, “I know sis. I’m sorry for not listening you about Chrysalis’ plan and should been there for you when you were kicked out of the wedding.”

Twilight weakly smiled at her brother’s response as the two siblings had forgiven each other and were both sorry for their past actions. But now they were back together again as brother and sister. Even though they didn’t have the level of trust that they had once right now that doesn’t mean it can be restored and made stronger. 

Soon she weakly said to Shining knowing they both sorry for their actions, “Then let’s promise that we go to each other when something is wrong… ok?”

Shining could heartily agree as he smiled back at Twilight and said to her, “You have my word sis. Let’s never have anything come between us again.”

Twilight nodded in agreement as the nurse said to the two knowing it was time for Twi get some much needed rest after all she’s been through for the past 5 weeks, “Come on Shining it’s time to let your sister rest now.”

Shining looked at the nurse and nodded in reply before he looked at Twilight and said to her, “I’ll see you tomorrow Twily.”

Twilight nodded back at Shining in agreement as she was going to need a lot of rest to recover from her experience. The nurse soon placed the mask back on Twilight’s muzzle and reattached it to the head harness before she and Shining left as the nurse turned off the lights as darkness filled the room. Twilight breathed from the mask before she closed her eyes and went to sleep. After all this time both she and Shining were still siblings and now her brother was an alicorn stallion. She would dwell on that subject later right now she needed to recover from her experience with those humans and her surgery. For the first time in weeks Twilight was safe and drifted off to sleep.
