Turquoise was walking slowly through the hallway to the battlefield while looking back on everything she and Fluttershy went through on this journey. Every lesson she learned along the way, every battle she has been in, and every opponent she met along the way has all led to this final moment. As soon as Turquoise took her position, Rick was waiting for her.
“You sure took your time getting here,” Rick said.
“I just needed a little time to reflect on everything,” Turquoise said.
“Just know I won’t go easy on you because this time I will win,” Rick said.
“Then you better bring it,” Turquoise said.
“Are both trainers ready? “The Ref asked.
“We are,” Turquoise and Rick said at the same time.
“Then let us select the battlefield for this match,” the ref said as the roulette spun. A few moments later it stopped on the snowflake.
“And it looks like the final match will take place on an Ice battlefield, “The announcer said as the field changed to Ice. Next the roulette for who would go first spun and soon stopped on red which meant Rick was going first. “And Rick will be going first followed by Turquoise.
“Go Steelix, “Rick said as he called out his Steelix which was unaffected by the ice due to its massive size.
“Starting big I see, in that case, Go Milotic,” Turquoise said as she sent out her Milotic who also had no problems on the ice.
“Steelix use Stealth Rock. Steelix suddenly launched a bunch of projectiles from its body that soon embedded themselves into the ice. “Now use Double-Edge. Steelix charged at Milotic like a steam engine but turquoise was not fazed.
“Slide out of the way and use Water Pulse. Milotic used the ice to slide around Steelix who ended up hitting an ice boulder instead of Milotic. Despite using a risky recoil move like Double-edge and ramming into a boulder Steelix looked perfectly fine until the Water pulse nailed it from behind which resulted in a good amount of damage.
“How come Steelix looks like it did not take damage from double-edge?” Applejack asked.
“Steelix must have the ability Rock head,” fluttershy said before explaining. “Rock head prevents recoil damage which eliminates the risk from certain moves like double-edge.
“Not bad but we are far from out. Steelix use Earthquake. Steelix jumped and then shook the battlefield which resulted in a powerful tremor which also shook Milotic for some serious damage.
“Milotic coil up and jump. Milotic coiled herself up like a spring before going off the ground. “Now use Hydro pump. Milotic unleashed hydro Pump from above and nailed Steelix for enough damage to push it onto the ground and faint.
“Steelix is unable to battle, Milotic is the winner,” The ref said while pointing his right flag at Turquoise.
“And Turquoise takes the lead in a surprising way,” The announcer said as steelix’s picture turned gray.
“Return Steelix,” Rick said as he recalled Steelix. “I must say that was quite clever.
“Well you know me,” Turquoise said.
“But can you handle my next Pokemon? Go Ampharos, “Rick said as he called out Amphoros who was standing on the Ice like it was no big deal. The battle resumed and Turquoise was shocked by how Ampharos was moving on the ice like a skilled skater. “You surprised? We learned this from battling Pryce. Now Ampharos use Thunder Punch. Ampharos skated fast at milotic with his thunderpunch ready to go.
“Dodge it. Milotic tried sliding out of the way but was not quick enough and was nailed for enough damage to faint.
“Milotic is unable to battle, Amphoras is the winner,” the ref said while pointing his left flag at Rick.
“And with that Rick evened the score, “The announcer said as Milotic’s picture turned gray.
“Return Milotic,” Turquoise said as she recalled Milotic. Luckily Turquoise was prepared for this and wasted no time in calling out her next Pokemon. “Go Garchomp. Garchomp came out and looked raring to go until he got nailed by the Stealth Rock.
“A ground and dragon-type, not bad but also no big deal,” Rick said.
“Garchomp use Dragon Claw. garchomp charged at Amphoras with his long glowing claws.
“Ampharos use Dazzling gleam on the battlefield. Ampharos’s body glowed and the glow was refracted by the ice which meant bad news for Garchomp.
“Garchomp use your tail to go up. Garchomp slammed his tail on the ground which got him airborne and allowed him to dodge the trap Rick set up. “Now dived down. Garchomp’s attack continued like an arrow which nailed Amparos with a critical hit and enough damage to faint.
“Ampharos is unable to battle, garchomp is the winner, “The ref said while pointing his right flag at Turquoise.
“Return Ampharos,” Rick said as he recalled Ampharos while its picture turned gray. Rick decided now was the time to call out his partner since nothing else he had could hold a candle to Garchomp. “Go Serperior. Serperior came out and despite landing on the cold ice looked ready to fight. “Let’s waste no time, Serpirior use Frenzy Plant. Serperior unleashed frenzy Plant which caused some big roots to pop out of the ice and break it in the spots the roots came out of.
“Dodge and use Fire blast. Garchomp dodged the roots and jumped off them to gain altitude before unleashing Fire Blast from above. Serperior was unable to move due to Frenzy Plant which resulted in a powerful hit. But that was not all Fire blast did; it also melted the ice and burned up the Stealth rocks. Serperior tried to remain standing but soon fainted.
“Serperior is unable to battle, Garchomp is the winner, “The ref said while pointing his right flag at Turquoise.
“And with three of Rick’s Pokemon eliminated it's now time for a five minute intermission,” The announcer said as Serperior's picture turned gray. During the intermission Turquoise stumbled upon Rick talking to someone on the vid phone.
“It's not over yet dad, I still have a chance,” Rick said.
“Listen Rick you don’t stand a chance of winning so just give up and come home already,” Rick’s dad said.
“Never I will win and become champion,” Rick said before hanging up. “I better win or else this is it. Turquoise now realized why Rick was rushing things instead of battling the way he always did. She had no intention of throwing the match since that would be an insult to both of them however she would try and help Rick deal with his dad if it would help in any way. The match resumed and Rick called out his next Pokemon. “Go Houndoom. Houndoom landed on what is now just ordinary rock.
“Go Lucario,” Turquoise said as she called out Lucario.
“You're not going to stick with Garchomp?” Rick asked.
“Don’t want this to end too soon,” Turquoise said.
“Very well, Houndoom use Shadow Ball. Houndoom fired his Shadow Ball.
“Dodge it. Lucario dodged before Turquoise chewed into Rick. “Where is the Rick I met in Kanto?
“I’m right here, “Rick said.
“No you're not,” Turquoise said before continuing. “I heard your conversation with your dad, he is making you quit your journey isn’t he?”
“Yeah he is but only because I am no good,” Rick said.
“According to who?” Turquoise asked. “Look at where we are, we are in the final match of the Silver conference most of the other trainers here did not even come close to this point.
“But my dad said,” Rick said before turquoise interrupted.
“Forget what he said, you're one of my strongest rivals and I want you to battle your way,” Turquoise said. The crowd was getting antsy with no action going on.
“You're right I haven't been battling like myself but with my Serperior gone what can I do?” Rick asked.
“See this battle through to the end and I believe everyone is waiting for it to resume,” Turquoise said with the ref nodding in agreement.
“Battle resume, “The ref said.
Houndoom use Flamethrower. Houndoom unleashed Flamethrower which caused Turquoise to smile.
“Now that's the Rick I know, Lucario use Aura Sphere. Lucario fired his Aura sphere and it formed a fork ball maneuver which caused it to hit Houndoom while Flamethrower also nailed Lucario. Both sides took damage and when the smoke cleared both Houndoom and Lucario fainted.
“Both pokemon are unable to battle so this round is a draw, “The ref said while crossing his flags.
“And after that exchange Rick is down to just two Pokemon while Turquoise still has four pokemon remaining,” The announcer said as both Houndoom and Lucario’s pictures turned gray.
“Return Houndoom, “Rick said as he recalled Houndoom.
“Return Lucario,” Turquoise said as she recalled Lucario. Turquoise called out her next pokemon first. “Go Garchomp. Garchomp came back out ready for round two. Rick now looked like he was about to even the score.
“Go Gliscor,” Rick said as his Gliscor came out and glided over the battlefield.
“Garchomp use dragon claw. Garchomp lunged at Gliscor with his dragon claw at the ready.
“Use night slash. Gliscor used Night Slash to parry the dragon claw. “Now use Guillotine. Gliscor suddenly grabbed garchomp by the neck and threw him onto the ground before pushing him into it which resulted in an instant knockout.
“Garchomp is unable to battle, Gliscor is the winner,” The Ref said while pointing his left flag at rick.
“Return Garchomp,” Turquoise said while recalling Garchomp as his picture turned gray. Turquoise was impressed by how Rick had such an ace up his sleeve. She wasted no time in calling out her next pokemon. Go Honchkrow. Honchkrow flew over the battlefield. Honchkrow use Faint Attack. Honchkrow flew quite fast while covered in dark energy which nailed Gliscor for some decent damage.
“Gliscor use Guillotine. Gliscor once again tried to use his razor sharp claw but this time turquoise was ready.
“Dodge it. Honchkrow tried to dodge but was not quick enough which resulted in the move landing and delivering an instant knockout.
“Honchkrow is unable to battle, Gliscor is the winner, “The ref said while pointing his left flag at rick.
“And with two successful Guillotines in a row, Rick has evened the score,” the announcer said as Honchkrow’s picture turned gray.
“Return honchkrow, “Turquoise said as she recalled Honchkrow. Luckily Turquoise had the perfect countermeasure against guillotine. “Go Dragapult. Dragapult flew out and looked ready for battle.
“Gliscor use U-turn. Gliscor charged at Dragapult with a glowing claw. After jabbing Dragapult, Gliscor returned to its pokeball. While Dragapult was down Rick called out his final pokemon. “Go Yanmega. Yanmega looked ready to go.
“Dragapult use Dragon Darts. Dragapult fired her projectiles which were heading straight for Yanmega.
“Yanmega use double team. Yanmega split into multiple copies which each projectile nailed while the real one was undamaged and powered up by its speed boost ability. “Now use steel Wing. Yanmega charged at Dragapult with wings of iron and successfully dealt some damage.
“Dragapult use Phantom Force. Dragapult went into the ground.
“Yanmega stay on your guard. Yanmega tried to guess where Dragapult would appear but failed to see her pop up from below and deal the finishing blow which caused Yanmega to fall and faint.
“Yanmega is unable to battle, Dragapult is the winner,” The ref said while pointing his right flag at Turquoise.
“And with that Rick is down to just his Gliscor, “The announcer said as yanmega’s picture turned gray.
“Return Yanmega,” Rick said as he recalled Yanmega. Rick wasted no time in calling Gliscor back out. Both Gliscor and Dragapult went at each other trading blow for blow. Gliscor was looking close to defeat but was still in this. “Gliscor use Night Slash. Gliscor prepared to use his next attack.
“Dragapult use Dragon Tail. Dragapult retaliated and both moves collided. After a little back and forth Night Slash won and knocked Dragapult out.
“Dragapult is unable to battle, Gliscor is the winner,” The Ref said while pointing his left flag at Rick.
“And with that both sides have just one pokemon remaining,” The announcer said as Dragapult’s picture turned gray.
“Return Dragapult,” Turquoise said as she recalled Dragapult. Rick waited in anticipation for Turquoise’s last pokemon. “Go Espeon. Espeon gracefully landed onto the battlefield and looked ready to go.
“Let’s end this, Gliscor use guillotine. Gliscor charged at Espeon ready to deliver the final blow but Turquoise was ready for it.
“Espeon use Psychic. Espeon used Psychic to stop Gliscor in mid air before slamming him down and causing him to faint.
“Gliscor is unable to battle, Espeon is the winner which means Turquoise wins the match,” The ref said while pointing his right Flag at Turquoise.
“And that’s it folks, After such an intense battle, the winner of this year’s silver Conference is Turquoise,” The announcer said as Turquoise’s picture appeared on the jumbotron. Rick recalled Gliscor and approached Turquoise.
“Well Turquoise congrats on beating me once again,” Rick said.
“So what will you do now?” Turquoise asked.
“Iron things out with my dad for starters and hopefully we will cross paths again,” Rick said.
Sometime later all the trainers who competed in the silver conference gathered to watch Turquoise accept her trophy which was a big gold cup with a pokeball design and some star details.
The next day Turquoise and her three friends were on their way to Pallet Town where her mom and some others were waiting for them. The ferry arrived at the port in Pallet town and after about fifteen minutes of walking the girls arrived at Turquoise’s house. As soon as turquoise opened the door the lights suddenly turned on and a bunch of party poppers went off.
“Congratulations on winning the silver Conference Turquoise,” Turquoise’s mom, Erika, Twilight, Rainbow Dash, Prima and Pinkie Pie shouted.
“Aw you shouldn't have, “Turquoise said.
“It was Pinkie’s idea,” Rainbow said.
“So what’s next for you Turquoise?” Twilight asked.
“You know a lot of people asked me that same question and even now I still don’t have an answer,” Turquoise said.
“I’m sure you will figure it out but here is another question, Now that you won your second Tournament, are you up to test your strength against us again?” Prima asked.
“I am,” Turquoise said.
“Perfect, I will set things up first thing tomorrow,” Prima said. Everyone partied the night away and after the party was over turquoise went to her room to look back on everything.
The next day Turquoise was now on an Ice battlefield facing Prima.
“Let’s see how much you learned from this journey,” Prima said. And so the true test of Turquoise’s level as a pokemon trainer was about to begin. Will she triumph over prima this time or fail once again. Stay tuned as the journey continues.
