The Private and Hidden Moments Of Twilight and Starlight

by Starlight Fan

After The Festival

Not everything in Friendship Is Magic can be seen in the show. Some moments are more inappropriate or meant to be hidden for the audience. After all, who knows what Fluttershy and Discord did after Season Eight’s Hearts and Hooves Day Special.

But either way, today we’ll be going over the offscreen moments of Twilight Sparkle and Starlight Glimmer. A prime example of two rivals becoming friends… but can they become more?

After the hype of the festival died down. Twilight found herself plopping on the couch in the luxuries of her castle. Good heavens, today was an absolute slog. First she had to save the entire world again, but then she had to continue hosting an admittedly fun party after that. She honestly would’ve just cancelled the Festival and let it happen a few days later but the preparations were already up so they kinda needed to get it over with.

Starlight was shocked to see Twilight’s state when she walked into the room, she was all ragged, her mane frazzled, and her breathing was heavy, “Twilight, you don’t look so good.” She said in concern.

“Yeah… saving Equestria and throwing a party in a quick span kinda tires you out.” Twilight chuckled weakly.

“Oh… I should’ve been there for you instead of letting myself get kidnapped by some stupid oafs.” Starlight said sadly as she examines Twilight’s face.

"You have nothing to apologize for, Starlight. I'm just happy you're safe. I don't know what I'd do without you." Twilight smiled at the unicorn reassuringly which surprised Starlight.

“R-Really?” Starlight asked in shock, clearly touched from the sentiment before shaking it off, “So… how was your journey to defeat the Storm King anyway? I didn’t hear a lot about it.”

"Honestly, most of it was total disaster. My friends hardly did anything to help and even made things worse at times and while I said some things I shouldn’t have, it doesn’t erase the fact that they weren’t taking the trip seriously. The queen of the Hippogriffs, Novo, was a coward. She had the key to defeating the Storm King in her hooves and refused to do anything. Everything that could've gone wrong did go wrong. I still don't really know how we managed to actually win." Twilight suddenly began ranting which surprised Starlight a lot, especially the part about calling Novo a coward, she didn’t think Twilight of all ponies would insult royalty.

“Twilight… did you just… insult royalty?” Starlight asked, not out of disappointment but of shock. If Twilight said Novo was being a coward, she believed it but it was still a surprise to see the alicorn react like this.

"If telling the truth about her decisions is an insult, then yes, I did. She'd rather hide than let her subjects live a life that isn’t just out of fear of the Storm King." Twilight continued to vent, and Starlight noticed Twilight was getting crankier by the minute and felt she needed to calm her down in some way. Once she noticed her unkept mane, she immediately began stroking it to try and return it to it’s normal look. The effect was immediate and Twilight began calming down with half lidded eyes and a content smile.

“I guess I got a bit heated there, didn’t I?” Twilight sighed wistfully.

“Yeah, kinda.” Starlight smiled awkwardly.

“Well thanks for calming me down.” Twilight smiled at her friend and roommate who smiled back.

“No problem, and don’t worry, I can see why you’re so upset, but we’re together again, your friends are okay, and all of Equestria is safe. You don’t have to worry anymore.” Starlight calmly reassured her friend, trying her hardest to fight her blush as she took in how adorable Twilight was right now. She always had a thing for the alicorn ever since the Changeling incident, but she never felt the need to confess for fear of ruining their friendship.

“You're right, Starlight. I don't have stress about all of that anymore. Everything turned out fine in the end. Thank you for getting me through my rant. You mean everything to me." Twilight said lazily but meant every word of it.

“Y-You mean everything to me too Twilight.” Starlight continued blushing when she heard that and let herself sit next to Twilight.

"I think after everything that happened I should tell you something before I lose the chance to.” Twilight smiled drowsily yet full of passion as she traced her hoof on Starlight’s stomach, “I love you, Starlight. You've done nothing but make my life better, and I can't imagine not having you in it."

Starlight blushed crimson after hearing that but was unsure if what she was hearing was too good to be true. Twilight was an alicorn and all she seemed to be was some unicorn that she had to tame.

“Are you sure you mean that? You’re pretty tired right now and… you might just want a fling or whatever.” Starlight asked sadly as she stopped stroking Twilight’s mane. She knew she had a model like body, but felt her personality was a major turn off.

"Don't say that, Starlight. I said that because I meant it. I wouldn't get your hopes up like that if you didn't mean the world to me." Twilight told Starlight sternly, looking more awake than she previously did, it was enough for Starlight to be convinced that Twilight was being genuine.

“K-Kiss me…” Starlight softly requested much to Twilight’s shock.

“I-I’m sorry. I’m being silly.” Starlight apologized in advance.

"Don't apologize, Starlight. I would love to." Twilight said as she began to lean in for a kiss.

Starlight immediately leaned into Twilight and they began kissing, and Twilight began leaning forwards. Starlight got the hint and started leaning backwards onto the couch, she knew she could’ve easily taken the big spoon role if she desperately wanted to, but if Twilight wanted to be on top, it’d be unfair to stop her.

Besides, this way Starlight felt more safe and protected. It made her feel loved and that’s all she ever wanted.
