Everyone was scarfing down as much food and drinks as they could stomach.
"Mikey, you have to try this 5-Alarm Chili!" Lightning Rod said.
"Huh?" Mikey responded in confusion as Lightning Rod slid a bowl to him.
"Anyone seen Mistress Sonata?" Stealth Elf asked.
"Saw her near the water training." Pinkie answered when in reality, Sonata was sewing a special surprise for the Skylanders.
"Everything ok, mistress?" Stealth Elf checked, making Sonata yelp as she hid the surprise she was working on.
"Yes. Everything is perfectly fine. Shouldn't you be eating with the others?" Sonata replied.
"Wasn't hungry." Stealth Elf answered.
"Well, let's see if Hugo has a new clue for us." Sonata said.
"Indeed, since Pinkie Pie did insert the oil into the Far Viewer." Stealth Elf agreed while inside Sonata's bag was the unfinished work of a special Jolly Roger with four of the eight elements in each eye socket.
"Lucky I can still make these. Guess those lessons... The Man of a Thousand Plans... Made me take came in handy." Sonata mentally thought to herself.
"You sure you're okay? You look sick." Stealth Elf noticed.
"Just remembering a bad experience." Sonata answered
"Oh. I won't dwell into it then." Stealth Elf responded.
"Thanks." Sonata said in gratitude as the duo met back up with the others. "Hugo, status update."
"*Gasp!* There it is... The twin... Let me back up a step." Hugo requested.
"What twins?" Mikey asked in confusion as Hugo backed up and looked again.
"We'll need the Eternal Water Source to add to the Core of Light. But, according to my blueprint, the water is no good to us unless we can get something called the Twin Spouts of Ocea-Major-Minor! Which I found. There." Hugo informed as Gurglefin showed up before looking through the Far Viewer.
"Holy Anchovy! That's Dark Water Cove!" Gurglefin gasped.
"What's the big dealer? Is it a smuggler's den?" Pinkie guessed.
"Ooh, it's a nasty place, filled with pirates. I'll bet the Twin Spouts will fetch a pretty penny for a plundering pirate. Sorry for the alliteration there." Gurglefin explained.
"We can take them." Sonata said.
"Let me prepare the ship then. I’ll just go. I’ll go now." Gurglefin responded as he left.
"As much as I hate to say it, you should go with Gurglefin. I’ll keep looking for clues to the Eternal Water Source. You can leave whenever you’re ready." Hugo informed.
"Sorry, guys. I'm out." Terrafin apologized.
"That's okay. Prism, you ready to fight?" Sonata asked.
"Yeah." Prism answered.
"Soni, why don't you stay here with your kids." Pinkie suggested.
"Okay." Sonic Boom responded.
"Spy, Dro, you two come with us." Mikey said.
"Sure thing." Spyro replied.
"Affirmative." Drobot added.
"Gurglefin, we're ready." Sonata said.
"Great! Terrific! I love a long water voyage! We’ll set sail at once! Gee. I hope I don’t get sea sick…" Gurglefin groaned as everyone got onto the ship before it went off the waterfall.
"Oh, not again!" Sonata yelped before the ship started flying.
"I think we’ll get used to it." Pinkie said as they sailed before Sonata started playing the violin.
"Huh?" Mikey noted in confused.
"An appropriate tune." Pinkie sighed in relaxation as the Skylanders started relaxing.
"How much longer till Dark Water Cove?" Sonata asked as she kept playing.
"Shouldn’t be long now." Gurglefin answered.
"Good. Maybe, I can acquire a ship." Sonata mentally thought to herself as the group soon arrived.
"It figures. The main gates are closed." Gurglefin sighed.
"Nothing we can't bust down." Mikey assured.
"No, I guess we’ll have to land at the outer island." Gurglefin pointed out as Sonata drew her blades.
"Perfect. All those in favor of a straight forward attack, raise your fist... Or any appendages... Into the air and cheer!" Sonata urged as the others cheered before the ship docked at the outer island.
"Looks like we’re going to have to find a way inside the fortress if we’re going to retrieve the Spouts. Yup. This is juuuuuust perfect." Gurglefin groaned as Sonata noticed the pirate hat her was wearing.
"Give me that!" Sonata growled as she grabbed the hat.
"Huh? Why?" Gurglefin asked in confused.
"This belongs on Sea Reaper Sonata!" Sonata declared as she put on the pirate hat.
"Who?" Everyone asked in confusion.
"Me... It's a long story. I'll explain later." Sonata said.
"But we did find Dino’s Soul Gem on another ship." Prism pointed out.
"I'll get it. You guys go on ahead." Sonata assured.
"If ya say so." Pinkie said.
"I'll go with you." Stealth Elf added.
"Unnecessary. I'll be fine on my own." Sonata responded.
"But-" Stealth Elf tried to ask.
"I promise." Sonata said.
"Very well." Stealth Elf sighed before everyone else went ahead as Sonata went in the opposite direction.
"Let's make some noise, people!" Mikey whooped, but when the group approached, torches lit up with pirates aiming cannons at them.
"CARP! We’ve been spotted by their artillery!" Gurglefin yelped as a cannon was fired, destroying his ship. "That sure is going to make things a lot harder. Guess the best thing to do is to keep out of their crosshairs."
"Spyro, take Stealth Elf and take out those cannons! The rest of us will keep them busy!" Pinkie said.
"I'll give them a hand!" Lightning Rod added.
"Cool." Mikey said as Spyro flew his friends up to the cannons.
"We got pirates coming!" Pinkie called out as Nauteloids showed up.
"Huh, small sawshellfish." Mikey noted.
"I can handle this!" Prism said.
"Not alone!" Pinkie pointed out before crystals suddenly fell from the sky and crashed on the Nauteloids, easily beating them as Prism smirked. "Try to remember we're a team, Prism."
Spyro's team manage to deal with the artillery, but spotted reinforcements heading towards the others. "Blastaneers incoming!"
"Then, my friends, let's do some poetic justice!" Lightning Rod smiled as Stealth Elf saw the extra cannon balls and saw where her friend was going with it.
"Agreed." Stealth Elf agreed as the other group everyone held their ground before more pirates came.
"Prism, summon more crystals! Drobot, fire your lasers into them!" Pinkie ordered.
"The Beam is Supreme!" Prism Break let out his battle cry.
"Blink and Destroy!" Drobot growled, letting out his battle cry as well before he summoned a bunch of crystals that acted as a reflective surface, causing Drobot's lasers to bounce randomly and hit enemies.
"Come on, guys!" Pinkie urged as the group moved forward before encountering a locked gate.
"Looks like we’ll need keys." Flameslinger noted.
"We can give you guys some artillery support of our own." Spyro said as he flew over.
"Good." Mikey smiled as Pinkie found a key and soon unlocked a gate.
"Got it." Pinkie called out before out of nowhere, pirates sprung and tackled her to the ground. "YIKES!!!" Pinkie yelped when out of nowhere, a blast of fire blew the Pirates off Pinkie. "Thanks, Spyro."
"That wasn't me." Spyro responded.
"That would be me!" Sonata laughed as she came up with a stole Pirate Ship, leaning on a cannon that looked like a Dragon.
"Sonata! Nice ship." Mikey cheered.
"Hehe, let’s just say I found it all alone." Sonata giggled before something small in a yellow glow stung her. "Ow! Alright, we found it."
"Sparx?" Spyro asked in surprise.
"That’s right, Spy!" A voice confirmed as the yellow glow revealed himself.
"So, what's everyone waiting for?! Full speed ahead!" Sonata roared as everyone raced to the next key. "Stay alert, everyone." Sonata advised as she and the rest of the group kept moving forward before they encountered a Squidface Brute wielding a giant anchor. "That suppose to scare us?"
"Better watch out for how that guy uses it." Prism Break pointed out.
"Let's see." Sonata said as the enemy slammed the anchor at the group, only for them to dodge it and the anchor to get stuck in the ground. "Flameslinger, hit him!"
"Very well." Flameslinger replied as he fired his flaming arrow and the enemy was destroyed.
"Pathetic." Sonata scoffed.
"I got the key." Wham-Shell said as he opened another gate before the group encounter a Water Spell Punk.
"FIRE IN THE HOLE!" Spyro shouted as he, Sparx, Stealth Elf and Lightning Rod fired their cannons support before the Water Spell Punk fired ice balls as the cannonballs, freezing them solid.
"Here's a science lesson from my companion, Zap! Ice is a conductor like water!" Lightning Rod smirked as Pinkie noticed odd puddles.
"Watch out for the puddles!" Pinkie gasped as she and everyone took cover while Lightning Rod threw his bolts.
"Guys, help!" Stealth Elf shouted as Spyro, Sparx and Lightning saw her get nabbed by enemies.
"Sling..." Mikey started to say.
"Way ahead of you!" Flameslinger finished as he ran off, leaving a trail of flames. "Let her go!" Flameslinger growled as he tackled the enemies and Stealth Elf kicked herself free.
"Thanks." Stealth Elf said in gratitude.
"It’s no problem, Stealth." Flameslinger responded.
"Hey Love Birds, we're pushing forward! Come on!" Sonata called out as the two elves blushed at that.
"Come on!" Lightning Rod urged as he picked Stealth Elf and Flameslinger up.
"We must be getting close." Spyro noted as the group spotted a soul gem with the face of a fire knight on it.
"I got it. Skeletal Grasp!" Pinkie shouted as a skeletal hand grabbed the soul gem and brought it to the group. "Another for the collection."
"Guys, the Twin Spouts are close!" Sonata pointed out before the group encountered a Squiddler. "Last chance to let us through!" Sonata warned as she charged up her swords before the enemy fired a blowfish as the group dodged it. "Hard way it is!"
But then an explosion went off right behind Sonata, sending her flying.
"Mistress!" Stealth Elf dreaded.
"The blowfish could’ve been a heat-seeking bomb!" Pinkie gasped.
"That... Didn't hurt." Sonata growled as she got onto her feet before she saw her hat glow. "Huh?"
"Hats here in Skylands have magical properties." Spyro informed as Sonata suddenly saw the enemy’s weak spot.
"Wham, you're with me! Everyone, I need cover!" Sonata ordered.
"Got it!" Wham-Shell responded before everyone fired hard as the he and Sonata raced forward. "Are you three natural leaders back at your homes?"
"Nah, we learned some stuff from our leaders." Sonata answered.
"They'd be proud of the work you're doing." Wham-Shell said, making Sonata smiled as they reached the target.
"Get ready!" Sonata declared after she breathed in deeply and sharply as her swords sparkled with that energy she used back at Oilspill Island.
"Right behind you!" Wham-Shell replied as Sonata blast a huge hole in the wall. "Hello, boys."
Wham-Shell used his electrical powers and defeated the cannon handlers.
"Great work." Sonata smiled.
"Heh, thanks." Wham-Shell said in gratitude.
"Guys, we got the gate unlock! Come on!" Mikey urged.
"Got it!" Sonata responded as the group got to the next area before stone fist gates closed behind them.
"Ambush!" Mikey yelped.
"Everyone, backs together." Pinkie ordered before the winds felt harsh.
"I know those winds anywhere... Whirlwind!" Lightning Rod realized.
"Tornado?!" Pinkie gasped.
"No, my Element's Dragon." Lightning Rod clarified as the group saw Whirlwind flying in the air.
"A dragon? Also looks like a unicorn." Sonata noticed as Whirlwind landed and her eyes showed the same sign.
"Here we go again." Mikey sighed.
"Try not to hurt her." Pinkie added as Whirlwind flew high and started blasting her friends.
"Rainbows?!" The Goofball Trio gasped.
"I know, ridiculous. But blame her Unicorn heritage." Spyro responded.
"I don’t know if Dashie would be amazed or laughing on her back by this." Pinkie wondered.
"I can handle her. My shield can protect me." Chop Chop said.
"I can help, too." Mikey added.
"Huh?" Prism Break noted as Whirlwind threw a storm, surrounding him, Chop Chop and Mikey.
"Keep her off balance!" Mikey ordered before he and the two Skylanders scattered as Whirlwind dove into the storm." We can't fight her in her turf... So, let's bring her to ours. Chop, cut her wings."
"What?" Chop Chop asked in confusion.
"Just injure her. Force her to the ground." Mikey clarified as Chop Chop cut Whirlwind's left wing and made her crash. "Good, now it's a fair fight."
Whirlwind flapped her wings before thunderclouds appeared.
"Get behind me!" Chop Chop urged as he got in front of Prism Break and Mikey, protecting them with his shield form the attack.
"Prism, fire your beams directly into Whirlwind's eyes." Mikey ordered.
"Good idea. It'll temporarily blind her." Prism Break responded as he charged up harmless beams before Whirlwind charged at them and Prism Break fired his blast, giving Mikey the chance to knock her out.
"She's alive, just unconscious." Chop Chop informed after checking Whirlwind's pulse.
"We got the spouts!" Pinkie called out.
"Let’s go!" Sonata urged as thegroup soon got back to Gurglefin with the Spouts.
"Great work, everyone! Now we just have to capture this Frigate and get outta here." Gurglefin informed as the ship Sonata showed up with earlier, was a ship that had said cannon, a hard and horned front shaped like a dragon head that seemed magical, dragon wings and wind weapons, fins and water weapons, obsidian scale-like armor and earth weapons before everyone climbed aboard and tied Whirlwind to the mast. "BLAST! We need to open the main gate! Two things: One, the pirates say the switch is way up on that tower. And two: they also lie a lot. Dunno. Good luck. Lemme know how you do."
"Seems simple. Stealth, you and Chop are with me. Everyone else stay here." Sonata ordered.
"Okay." Mikey responded as the trio climbed to the switch, only to walk into an ambush.
"Saw that coming." Sonata said.
"Slice and Dice!" Chop Chop shouted out his battle cry as he charged at the enemies with his new Spiked Shield Bash ability.
"Right behind you, Chop!" Sonata said as she and the two Skylanders forged a path to the switch. "Stealth, behind you!"
"Hmm?!" Stealth Elf noted as a pirate came at her from behind, but she pulled her scarecrow trick with her new Straw Pook Scarecrow ability.
"Stealth!" Sonata gasped as the real Stealth Elf appeared behind the pirate.
"That foe’s not the one behind me, I’m behind him!" Stealth Elf quipped as she struck hard.
"Nice job. Let's flip the switch and leave." Sonata said as she got to the switch and pressed it, causing the switch itself to raise higher as the gate lowered, making a clear path.
"Guys, jump a board!" Mikey urged.
"No need to tell us twice!" Sonata responded as she cut a nearby line before she, Stealth Elf and Chop Chop swung aboard the captured frigate "Hoist the sails and get us out of here!"
The ship then set sail, escaping the cove.
"Yes! We’re free! And on one of their own ships! HA! You know I’ve always wanted to be a pirate! I wonder how I’d look with an eye patch." Gurglefin wondered.
"Trust me... Fishman pirates aren't fun." Sonata sighed.
"Fishman? Don’t ya mean Gillman?" Gurglefin asked.
"Nope." Sonata answered as the group soon made it back to the Ruins with the Twin Spouts started floating before Master Eon appeared.
"Behold, the Twin Spouts of Ocea Major Minor, forged from the scales of the Leviathan." Master Eon informed as the Spouts planted itself at the center of the circle as pipes underground started emerging and connecting with the ancient machinery of the Core.
"Okay kids, give Auntie Whirly an alarm clock wake up." Sonic Boom requested as everyone covered their ears before her kids screamed loud at Whirlwind.
"Sonic, you know I... Hey, why can't I move?" Whirlwind noticed as she tried to move.
"Look down." Sonata informed as Whirlwind saw she was still tied up.
"LET ME GO!" Whirlwind growled.
"You don’t know what happened?" Sonata asked.
"Aside from the beating you guys gave, no." Whirlwind answered as Stealth Elf cut her free.
"Sorry about that. We'll call a doctor and..." Mikey tried to say before Whirlwind cut him off.
"No need." Whirlwind responded as she blasted herself with her own rainbow, but nothing happened.
"You know we haven’t found your soul gem yet, right Whirlwind?" Spyro pointed out with a bead of sweat.
"I feel good enough to fight and fly." Whirlwind assured.
"Hugo, got any good news?" Mikey asked.
"Now that the Twin Spouts of Ocea-Major-Minor are in place, we can talk about the Eternal Water Source." Hugo answered.
"You have a clue where it is?" Pinkie added another question.
"Yeah, turns out it’s located in a string of islands." Hugo responded.
"String of islands? Heh! What are we waiting for? I’ll get the boat ready." Gurglefin said.
"That sounds too easy." Mikey noticed.
"It’s harder than it sounds, because you’ll need more than a boat, I’m afraid. From what I’ve heard, the Eternal Water Source has returned to the sea, and can ONLY be summoned with the four ancient statues on these islands." Hugo informed.
"Um, why do I think there’s a big “but” in all this?" Gurglefin worried.
"Because Kaos is involved." Sonata deadpanned.
"BUT, I’ve ALSO heard rumors of a giant fish that lives in those waters. It’s said that he eats whole villages. The locals call him Leviathan." Hugo asked.
"L-L-LEVIATHAN?!!!? Uuuugh…." Gurglefin shivered in fear.
"Big deal. Nothing we can't handle." Sonata shrugged while picking her teeth.
"It is a big deal, because it looks as if we have more than just Kaos and the Darkness to worry about. You must be extremely cautious." Hugo advised.
"First, let's get ourselves patched up." Pinkie said.
"That would be wise." Hugo agreed.
“Managed to give Boomer his soul gem we got from that Oilspill Island.” Terrafin informed.
“Good job.” Sonata smiled.
