//------------------------------// // Only Chapter // Story: Chaotic Encounter // by King Ice //------------------------------// The last thing he saw was complete darkness as the cold, but burning, blade of the samurai’s sword destroyed him into nothingness. He thought only death awaited him while his dreams of complete domination crumbled. However, a miracle happened. Something he didn’t think would be possible after what he suffered through. He was reborn! He saw light as his gigantic body came out of the grassy fields and cast a shadow above everything close to him. He was alive, but it was clear he wasn’t in his old world anymore. Maybe another planet, or dimension; he didn’t know. But that didn’t matter. “It looks like that foolish samurai couldn’t destroy me in the end! Hahahahaha!” He laughed as he admired the fields around him. It was a new beautiful world that he would enjoy crushing and making anyone here kneel to his grandeur. “The rule of Aku is not finished yet!” No matter what creatures lived there; they would bow to him. “What do we have here?” A voice spoke out loud. Aku widened his eyes before looking down at the ground to see a strange-looking creature with a long body, which seemed to be made out of multiple different animals. “You’re new here, aren’t you? What’s your name?” He inquired with a small smile. Aku narrowed his eyes, this creature didn’t seem to know who he was talking to...  “I am the master of masters, the shogun of darkness, the ruler of shadows, the conqueror of worlds, the bringer of death…” He started introducing himself while the creature glanced at a watch that appeared out of nowhere, before looking at Aku again. “I am the great and mighty Aku!” He finished proudly. “Well… nice to meet you. I’m Discord,” Discord replied. “Take me to your master. They will now obey me,” Aku ordered him as Discord put his finger under his chin as he looked like he was thinking about it. “Sorry, no can do! But I can take you to one of my friend’s homes! She makes a really delicious tea!” He refused right before a beam came out of Aku’s eyes and blasted where he stood. “I hope the pit of hate will teach him the proper way to respect the great Aku,” He said to himself grumpily. He didn’t want to get rid of the first creature he met, but he was never able to handle disrespect. He would have to see the rulers of these lands himself. “You know “the pit of hate” isn’t a very catchy name. Besides, it may scare off tourists, so I’d suggest you change it,” Discord said, startling Aku and making him turn around to see the creature floating in the air right behind him. “How did you get out of that?!” Aku questioned him. “I teleported of course! I’m lucky you didn’t hit me with those laser eyes because that pit of hate thing sounded really boring,” Discord answered as he teleported again to prove his statement. “That… Is that chaos magic?” Aku asked as he sniffed the air, making DIscord step back a little. “Yep, and if you’re not trying to kill me anymore, maybe we could discuss a bit. We are a bit alike after all,” Discord explained as Aku pondered the idea. His magic was similar to what gave him life, besides he never met someone using chaos magic and using it for good. He was probably evil, which would only benefit him if he made him an ally! “Hum… You do look pretty evil, so I guess I’ll accept that,” Aku replied as he grinned in anticipation. This Discord guy could be useful here. He was in a whole new world after all. “Great! Let’s go then!” Discord rejoiced as he snapped his fingers, suddenly opening a tear in space. Aku widened his eyes as the portal grew just big enough for Discord to pass. “It’s a bit small, but I’m sure you can fit it,” He giggled as he went in. Aku grumbled as he changed his body into a thin pillar of darkness, making himself small enough to go through the portal. The moment he stepped in, he changed back into what he was; and fortunately, the place they were in was large enough for him to fit inside. He was expecting to be in a secret evil lair like his own; however, he couldn’t help but widen his eyes as he realized they were in a bar filled with strange creatures. He was used to seeing aliens, but none of them looked like a race he had seen before. “What is this place?” Aku inquired as the portal closed itself behind him. “You don’t know about it? All the beings using chaos energy get together here from time to time! I thought you already came here before, but I’d be happy to introduce you!” Discord explained happily before floating up in front of Aku’s head. “They’re all cool guys, but most of them are pretty evil, so be careful, alright? Not that I’m worried or anything!” Discord whispered before chuckling. “I was busy imposing my rule over the world, so I didn’t really look for a bar in another dimension… Wait… Evil you say?” Aku replied as he narrowed his eyes. This Discord person was proving to be even more helpful than he thought he would be! With this, he would create a new powerful army, and with their powers, he would get back at this damn samurai! After conquering the world he was sent in first of course. “That’s what I said! Oh! Hey, Bill! What’s up?” Discord turned around to speak to someone else, only for them to go past him without glancing at him. “None of your business, ponyhead,” “Bet he was beaten by kids again,” Discord snickered before turning his attention back to his new friend, who seemed busy talking to himself. “If you’re finished thinking, let’s go! I’ll buy you a drink!” “I don’t need drinks or food,” Aku answered as they went to the bar’s counter. “Nobody does here, but you could still try some!” Discord wiggled his eyebrows while Aku looked at him in boredom, then sighed. “Alright, give me something, anything; I don’t really care anyway,” Aku answered as Discord beamed and called the barman here. The moment he ordered their drinks, they appeared out of thin air in front of them. “Now… Why don’t we talk business?” “Business? Sounds boring,” “What? It’s about world domination! How can this be boring!” Aku shouted at him as Discord stayed impassive. “That world of yours looked pretty peaceful, so I guess you’re not ruling over it right? Some goody-two-shoes or a samurai must have prevented you, right? I can help if you become my…. partner. We help each other out, you see?” Aku explained. Of course, he was fully prepared to make him nothing more than a lackey, but he didn’t need to know that. “Samurai? We don’t really have those… But the goody-two-shoes part is right! There are a lot of them actually. However, the last time I partnered up with someone for world domination didn’t work out so well…” DIscord thought out loud as he put a hand on his chin. “You know what? Just sip those drinks, and I’ll listen to you. They’re delicious!” “Fine! Just stop bothering me with that!” Aku grumbled in annoyance before gulping down the entire drink. However, not even a second later, he felt like he was going to throw up. He rarely ever ate or drank, but that was probably the most horrible taste he had ever known! “Gaah! What is that?! It tastes worse than bagloo shit! You said it was delicious!” “Oh, right. Forgot to tell you that in my world, delicious meant the same as disgusting. Silly me!” Discord laughed as he tossed his own drink over his shoulder. “Then why did you give it to me?!” Aku growled in anger, ready to snap, but he knew having these guys here as allies was better than having them as enemies. “You shouldn’t mess with the great and powerful Aku!” “Now that reminds me of someone… Anyway, about your whole partner in crime thing… Sorry, but I have to decline,” “Huh? Why? I don’t plan to use you as a tool and betray you at the last second by taking advantage of your trust or anything! Where did you get that idea from?!” Aku shouted as Discord looked from side to side. “I… wasn’t really thinking that,” He finally replied as an awkward silence settled between them. “But like I said, it wouldn’t work out. Good guys always come out on top. You defeat them physically and mentally, you think you won, then you make a whole monologue-” “Oh, I love monologues,” Aku interrupted as several memories came back to him. “You get to humiliate them, and it’s always funny when they still try to make their hero speeches!” “I liked that, too. BUT, then comes the part where they weren’t actually defeated, and they somehow manage to beat you,” “It didn’t happen that many times to me…” Aku grumbled nervously. “Curse you, samurai!” “Well… You look like you had a lot of issues,” Discrod started as paper sheets appeared out of thin air. “So I’m going to do you a favor. Instead of trying to dominate the world, we could play Ogres & Oubliettes! What do you say?” Discord suggested as he raised his eyebrows. “Why would I play with you?!” Aku roared, making all the creatures in the bar turn their attention to them. “Oh, please, don’t make a scene,” Discord crossed his arms as Aku glared at him. “We can’t hear ourselves talk with all your yelling!” Someone yelled out, followed by most people in the bar, only to be instantly disintegrated by a laser beam, shutting everyone up. “Need any more reasons to help me, now?” Aku asked as Discord remained impassive. “Firstly, that was rude. You’re a bit of a hothead, aren’t you? …? Get it? It’s because you have flaming eyebrows. You not laughing makes me think you didn’t think it was funny,” Discord frowned while Aku rubbed his eyes in annoyance. “Now, secondly, I don’t think you’re gonna win against the ‘good guys’ I was telling you about,” “Bwahahahaha! Now that was funny!” Aku laughed while holding his stomach. “Actually, it wasn’t-” “I’m a gigantic shapeshifting monster; what will they do? Unless they have a magical blade forged by the gods? They don’t have that, right?” Aku asked fearfully as Discord put a hand on his chin. “I don’t think so? What’s with you and swords, exactly?” Discord inquired, only for Aku to laugh in mockery. “Then, I am undefeatable! No matter what magic or powers the heroes from this land may have, they cannot harm me!” “That’s the thing, dear Aku. The whole point of their magic is to destroy evil and bad guys. It’s the magic of friendship!” Discord explained eagerly. “So, I have a counteroffer for you, buddy. I’ll introduce you to my dear friend, Fluttershy! You will quickly come to learn that friendship is much more valuable than taking over the world or killing people you don’t like!” The draconequus offered as Aku blinked a few times, then burst with laughter. “HAHA HAHA HAHA! M-Magic of friendship? HAHA HAHA!” He mocked while Discord crossed his arms, bored and unimpressed. “And become friends with them! T-This is hilarious! HAHA! Wait… Her name is Fluttershy? Let me guess, she’s shy, right? HAHA!” Aku continued to laugh for a good minute while Discord stared in silence. “You done?” Discord uttered with a raised eyebrow while Aku pretended to wipe off a tear. “I haven’t laughed like this in ages!” Aku breathed out, smiling arrogantly at the lord of chaos. “Listen here, worm. Their puny magic may be effective against darkness, but the Great Aku is no mere darkness! He is the origin of all evil! The epitome of power and the mighty ruler of darkness! Nothing in this vast universe can possibly match up to me!” He suddenly grabbed Discord by the neck, making him gasp, and brought him to his face. “Now open a portal back to your world, creature! Once its people see their heroes defeated by Aku, they will be filled with unimaginable despair and yield to me. They shall swear allegiance!” “Alright! Alright! But don’t say I didn’t warn you!” Discord managed to say while his throat was being crushed. He snapped his fingers, and a portal opened to Equestria again. Aku simply smirked as he let go of Discord and flew into the portal. The draconequus rubbed his neck before following the villain to Equestria. “Ah, yes! I am finally free to roam the world once again! I shall release unspeakable evil, and smite those who will oppose me!” Aku announced as he changed into a pillar of darkness and flew in Canterlot’s direction. “He sure loves monologues…” Discord remarked as he summoned a can of popcorn out of thin air. Aku landed in the capital of Equestria, towering over the entire city. He didn’t even give anyone any time to react before shooting two laser beams from his eyes and pulverizing a random building, and making a blast so strong the smoke from the fire nearly reached the Canterlot Castle. “I am the Great and Mighty Aku! Your new Lord and Master! This is only an appetizer for what’s to come if you resist! Bring me your heroes, so I may dispose of them!” He laughed with a clenched fist. Discord took a fist full of popcorn and threw them in his mouth while Aku’s eyes widened in surprise. It didn’t take long for the behemoth to laugh hysterically again. “Y-You are ponies? Not just you, but you’re all colorful ponies?! HAHA HAHA! This is supposed to scare Aku?!” He mocked them. It seemed he met not only the first Equestrians but the bearers of the elements. Discord guessed ponies mustn't have been that common in his world. “What will you do? Sing a song to me? HAHA!” The bearers probably said something, but considering Discord was too far to hear them, he only had a faint idea of what they were telling Aku. Discord simply began counting down with his fingers, beginning with three. “Enough of these games! If you do not fear Aku, then I shall teach you a lesson that your very souls will remember!” The being of darkness threatened as he raised his arms to strike everyone down. “Wait, what is that?” Aku paused as a gigantic rainbow rose high above the ground. Discord lowered a finger, now showing two of them. “A pathetic rainbow will do you no good, ponies!” Aku screamed as he fired his laser beams against the rainbow, which proved to be totally ineffective. Discord lowered another finger, with only one remaining. “Huh?” The rainbow finally hit Aku square on the chest, making him scream in pain as a white light traveled all across his body, leaving cracks behind it. Discord lowered the final finger. “CUUUUUURSE YOU, POOOONIES!” Aku screamed as he was completely destroyed, leaving nothing behind him. Discord sighed while shaking his head as Canterlot seemed to be peaceful again as if nothing happened. “I mean, I did warn him…” He shrugged before his face lit up. “That gives me a great idea! Time to update this!” He exclaimed as he summoned a notebook and a pencil, then crossed something out and wrote something else instead. “There,” He told himself as he looked at the notebook.
