As I stepped out of the now shattered cage with pieces scattered on the floor I looked up at seeing Ark in front of me who was not aware that I broke free I was ready to take back control of my body I already knew that I was trapped in my brain and I knew I could do whatever I want in here, but I also know that I can’t beat ark in a fight I had to wait until he goes to sleep but as I waited I decided to watch what he was doing with my body
“Wow, Zack. That was amazing”, Flurry said as she hugged me. “Oh keep it coming, I was fired out there”, I said as the crowd started to cheer me on. “You want an encore hun”, I said as I used my powers again and the crowd went wild. And I got ready to start the show again. I saw from the corner of my eye that Cadence was looking at me with a concerned look on her face. I didn’t care as I kept on the thunder for the crowd cause they wanted more. Cadence and Flurry continued to watch. Flurry watched in amazement while Cadence was constantly concerned. But I didn’t care as the crowd wanted more and more. So that's what I gave them
. “Don’t you think Zack’s acting a little weird”, Cadence said. “I don’t notice anything at all”, Flurry said as she continued to watch the show. “Zack’s shy though. Something’s up”, I heard Cadence say. I went on to amaze the crowd with my skills. Not to mention the encore that the fans always demand. It went on like this for quite some time. Long after midnight but around that time I could feel Cadence getting more and more suspicious about me. I had a feeling she was on my trail. The only problem was getting her off of it, but I needed to be alone for that kind of thing. “Ok, I think that’s enough for tonight. Even changelings need their rest”, I said in a tired voice. The crowd did start to moan but they were getting tired as well and headed back home. The three of us were no exception. When we got in the castle, Flurry had to use the lady’s room so I headed to our bedroom
. “Well, that is just great. That buffoon is getting closer and closer. She of all ponies can’t know about this. Chrysalis was right to banish her at all. She is dumb but she is also smarter than I'd hoped. Now how to get her out of the picture? hmm, I got it, I know just what to do, and they will never see it coming. I could banish her to those mines again, maybe trap her in stone or even blast her to a faraway land, nevertheless, she can’t be here for much longer. I for one, can’t wait to watch it all unfold. Just then, I started to feel a bit tired, I fell to the bed and fell asleep as I started to feel something but ignored it as I kind of heard a door open but I was too tired to react to it.
(Zacks pov)
After Ark went to sleep I took back control of my body and when I woke up I realized that Flurry wasn’t in bed with me and I know something was off so I left the room and started to look for her, I decided to start looking for her in the royal garden, but when I arrived I found Flurry heart sitting on the bench crying I walked up to her saying “are you ok Flurry” Flurry turned to look at me surprised but once she realized it was me she said in a sad time “oh hey Zack” I sat down on the bench next to her asking in a concerned voice “are you ok” Flurry nodded with sadness still, I lifted Flurry’s face to look in her eyes “Flurry look into my eyes”
I said in a calm voice as I continued “We made a promise not to lie to each other I know something is bothering you I can see it in your eyes” Flurry took a deep breath and said “It’s just ever since I was a newborn, even though I’m a princess and all, I wanted a normal life even tho I am an alicorn and I always looked towards the future excited, but after my dad died, I started viewed change as a bad thing, then you came into my life and well, you’ve made me happier then I have ever been I just don’t want to lose you.
I love you there is no pony else that makes me happy in the same way you do. I just wish I could be a normal pony so we could be together without other ponies harassing you”, Flurry said in between sobs of tears. I hugged Flurry. “I understand Flurry but Your royalty and I'm a red moon changeling, but I will never leave you. I want to be with you through the highs and lows because I love you two and no pony can ever change that '', I said with a calm voice. Flurry then looked at me with a smile. “Thank you, Zack, I needed to hear that '', Flurry said as she kissed me before pulling me into a hug.
As we hugged for a long time things felt like everything was . . . normal for once. It was a rare feeling because nothing has really never felt normal since Cadence banished me. It felt like everything was right. It felt like the ending of an old mare’s tale even though it was far from over. But as we continued to hug we fell asleep in each other’s embrace, as we fell asleep on the bench Flurry wrapped her wings around me. It was like before when we were younger, only this time, it felt right. It felt like everything was falling into place. For once in my life, it was going the right way.
(Cadence POV)
As I was walking through the castle to get ready for bed I came across the royal garden seeing Flurry sleeping on the bench with her wing wrapped around Zack as walked towards them I saw that Flurry was smiling in her sleep, I haven’t seen Flurry like this since her father, I never realized how much means to her. Maybe I should keep my suspicions to myself, I thought. It wasn’t worth it to have all the drama repeat again just because of me. I knew Flurry would hate me again, Zack would despise me and chaos would break through. I couldn't bear all of that again. I then noticed a blanket near the bench. It was a colder night so I put the blanket on Flurry and Zack as they smiled through it.
She seemed to be happier with Zack I smiled as I carried both of them two them to their room. But as I walked it start to get harder to hold them Luckily I was able to put them on their bed before my magic gave out, after that, I left the room and went to my own room to go to sleep
(zacks pov)
As I opened my eyes I could see the morning sunlight coming through the window and right into my eyes. I didn’t feel like opening the curtains so I got up for the day. Just then, I thought of something. I felt like love towards Flurry. Well, I always loved her and all but this felt different like I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. Never leaving her side at all and that’s when I knew I wanted to do what I should have done long ago.
Just then, I heard a knock on the door as Cadence came into the room. “Oh hay Cadence”, I said. “Good morning Zack, Could we talk for a quick second”, Cadence said “Sure”, I replied following her into the hallway. “I didn’t want to say it next to Flurry but I just wanted to say that I’m really sorry for everything that happened to you and her, I was a complete jerk and an overprotective mother until I realized I was hurting her instead of protecting her”, Cadence said. “It’s ok Cadence, I forgive you and I think flurry has too”, I said, trying to reassure her “I know but I just feel like a complete traitor to you and Flurry, I was so paranoid from my last few experiences with changelings in my past that I acted without proper consent”, Cadence said, “Your past can’t be undone and you had a right to be afraid of me and the safety of Flurry but we all forgive you in the end. Don’t ever forget that promise”, I said. “Promise”, Cadence said as hugged.
I then knew that she truly trusted me with Flurry. Sure I knew then but I felt like she knew in her heart that she trusted both of us, I wouldn't forget that. After our chat, I headed back to the room to see Flurry slowly waking up as we said good morning to each other. We then had breakfast and that’s when I started to begin my little... . project.
I went out to the nearby crystal caves and picked up a perfect-looking crystal. “Man Flurry is gonna love the crystal. It has her name written all over it”, I said. Then while I was exiting the caves when I noticed that there were some changeling rocks nearby. “That’s a little odd that there are changeling rocks here”, I said as I then noticed one of the rocks seemed to be a circle shape. This was what I was looking for so I picked it up. I headed back to the castle, staying clear of anypony that could see me. I wanted this little project to be a surprise to everypony. Letting just one know could go south very quickly. Flurry’s birthday was tonight so I had to hurry. As I was walking through the castle halls, I noticed that Cadence and Flurry were cleaning the west side of the castle.
Perfect for staying out of their way, I then went into a quiet room and began to work sitting down at one of the desks and placing down the materials, but when I looked over at the crystal I saw that it had something red in it like electricity then I remembered that I had power’s, I looked at the circle shaped rock, suddenly red sparkes started to for around is as it uncoupled and attached itself to the crystal “perfect” I said to my self before tucking the ring under my wing
